Machine Assignment

The document provides data for a 10 pole, star connected, 50Hz synchronous generator including its outer rotor diameter, axial length, number of stator slots, and winding configuration. It states that the rotor air field has a 0.1 tesla 3rd harmonic component and asks to calculate the RMS value of the 3rd harmonic induced voltage in the stator phase winding and between line values. The solution shows the calculations to determine the 3rd harmonic voltage in the stator phase is -153.816 volts and the line value is zero.

A salient pole, star connected, 50 HZ, synchronous generator has the
following data:
Total numbers of poles = 10.
Outer rotor surface diameter = 1.0 m.
Axial active length = 0.4 m.
Number of stator slots = 90 slots, double layer stator winding with
coil span = 8 slot pitch and number of turns per coil = 5. If the rotor
air field at no load has a 3rd harmonic component 0.1 tesla, calculate
the RMS value of the 3rd harmonic induced voltage at no load in the
stator phase winding as well as between the line value.

F=50 hz
2p=10
D=1m
Laxial =0.4m
