Read the following vignette and answer the questions below:

“Rozlin is a 45-year-old counsellor who works for a private higher education institution. Her
clients are mostly undergraduate students who see her for a variety of issues, ranging from
money, studies, relationship, and career choice issues. Two weeks ago, Rozlin saw a new
client, a 23-year-old male third year medical student who was depressed that his relationship
with his partner, a fellow student in the same college, broke up. The client also expressed his
wish to switch course as he could not cope with his study. Upon learning from the client the
nature of his problem, Rozlin shook her head and urged him to forget about his partner and
focus on his study. She further advised him not to change course as the medical degree is
prestigious and has high income earning power. She also suggested that he perform his prayers
sincerely and seek god’s guidance.”

Baca kajian kes berikut dan jawab soalan-soalan di bawah:

“Rozlin adalah seorang kaunselor berusia 45 tahun dan bertugas di sebuah institusi pengajian
tinggi swasta. Kebanyakan klien beliau adalah pelajar sarjana muda yang berjumpa beliau
mengenai pelbagai isu, dari isu kewangan, pelajaran, perhubungan dan pemilihan kerjaya. Dua
minggu lepas, Rozlin berjumpa dengan seorang klien lelaki yang merupakan pelajar perubatan
berusia 23 tahun. Klien tersebut mengalami kemurungan kerana putus cinta dengan
pasangannya yang juga merupakan pelajar kolej yang sama. Klien menyuarakan hasrat untuk
bertukar kursus kerana beliau tidak mampu meneruskan kursus perubatan. Setelah mendengar
dan mengetahui masalah klien, Rozlin menggelengkan kepalanya dan menggesa klien itu
melupakan bekas kekasihnya dan fokus kepada pengajian. Seterusnya, Rozlin menasihatkan
klien untuk tidak menukar kursus memandangkan kursus perubatan amat berprestij dan
berpendapatan tinggi. Rozlin turut menggalakkan klien untuk bersolat secara ikhlas dan
memohon bimbingan daripada tuhan.”
