Program Title: Project:“Gulayan sa likod ng Tahanan in the New Normal”

Program Description: One of the priority projects of the Department of Education is the improvement of the
nutritional status of students. Every school was advised to have “Gulayan sa paaralan” to
give supplemental feeding in school to promote nutrition among students. However, in this
new normal student are not allowed to went to school to do their task so, the school devised
this activity so that students can still participate in the activity while staying at home. It will
allow students to establish home garden to support schooling finances at the same time to
suffice needs at home.
This project is envisioned by the Department of Education (DepEd) to help address hunger
and malnutrition concerns in the country, according to the DepEd secretary as he explained
that "as part of the department's poverty alleviation programs."Gulayan sa Paaralan” will
foster public awareness on both the health, nutritional and economic benefits of establishing
not just in school but also in their household and community.

The program aims to:


a. Establish school vegetable gardens/nurseries/orchard and seedling production centers;
b. Improve the nutritional status of the students
c. Provide a ready source of vegetables for the supplementary feeding in case of emergency.
e. Raise the level of public consciousness on health and nutritional dimensions as well as
economic benefits by establishing household and community gardens.
Duration October 5,-February 2021

NARRATIVE REPORT ON “GULAYAN SA LIKOD NG TAHANAN”

V. NARRATIVE:

This project is envisioned by the Department of Education (DepEd) to help address hunger and
malnutrition concerns in the country, according to the DepEd secretary as he explained that "as part of the
department's poverty alleviation programs."Gulayan sa Paaralan” will foster public awareness on both the
health, nutritional and economic benefits of establishing not just in school but also in their household and
community.
Last October 5 ,2020 a meeting conducted and agreed that all parents in SHS will have their “Gulayan sa
likod ng tahanan”. The participants of this activity are all SHS & JHS students and parents collaboratively
make their garden at home. After three months students submit their “Gulayan sa paaralan “picture through
online and the proponent was able to choose the best Gulayan sa Tahanan implementer to be awarded this
second quarter to the parents and students. This project will be lasted until June 2021.The products of their
garden will be posted in Facebook page to promote and get profit from it. Some parents displayed their
harvest products every Monday and sell it to their co-parent and teachers.

Program Title: . Improving Solid Waste Management in School-Convert Non-recyclable to Eco-Bricks

Program Description: School recycling project provides its stakeholders with hands-on experience that helps them
grow to see that efforts to cut the wasteful use of resources does make a difference. A
variety of proactive activities can be used to teach everyone to take responsibility for
keeping the Earth cleaner and to learn how to help the environment for a better future.
According to the U.S. EPA, recycling: conserves natural resources to help sustain the
environment; reduces the need for landfilling and incineration; saves energy and prevents
pollution caused by the extraction and processing of virgin materials therefore Recycling is
necessary to reduce waste in homes, schools and work places.

School recycling project is focuses on three key areas:


have better resource management;
to cultivate stakeholders awareness on proper waste management; and
reduction of waste
