    ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON GPP


    SY.2021-2022

    I.INTRODUCTION:

    To raise more awareness about health and nutrition, among student, teachers and parents-the
    Department of Education implemented GULAYAAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM ( Vegetable garden in
    school) Here, crops harvested from school garden are used to sustain the School Based Feeding Program,
    which aims to mitigate malnutrition.
    II. KNOWLEDGE

    The GULAYAN SA PAARALAN Program aims to promote proper nutrition and mitigate hunger among
    learners. Eating right number of fruits and vegetables will help develop the body and mind of the students
    that is why all schools are encourage to have this kind of program.
    The Agripina Elementary School patronized its feeding program for more than 4 years to feed the wasted
    pupils and to mitigate the malnutrition among school children. The school still upholds in its feeding
    program by intensifying the school GPP.
    III. OBSERVATION:

    In order to established a sustainable GPP, I have to create a Structure pursuant to the Division
    Memorandum 745 series of 2021 which is the Organizational Structure for GPP. This structure comprises of
    different committees to collaborate in order to come up a productive and sustainable vegetable garden.
    I requested a GPP Training on Organic Vegetable Farming from the Office of the Provincial Agriculture
    (OPAG) which was successfully conducted last November 26,2021. The training enlightened us and enable
    us to make an organic fertilizers and pesticide which are very useful to come up a productive vegetable
    garden.
    We started our container garden last December 2021. Each committee works together, by gathering old tires,
    collecting seeds, gathering funds and soliciting paints to have a colorful container garden.
    The committee of ways and means were able to gather funds amounting to ten thousand pesos (10,000)
    which was utilized to build our nursery and the housing of Verme composting.
    Our School principal sir Harvey Dominice was able to construct an Aquaponics which was allocated from
    the MOOE.
    The germination of seeds was done in plastic containers in the nursery house and was transplanted on
    January 6, 2022.The container garden covers 112 square meter which was planted with eggplant,
    tomato,okra,bell pepper, chili, karlang, basil ,cucumber , lemon grass , ginger and spinach. The aquaponics
    was composed of 60 heads of kangkong planted in plastic bottle and 100 heads of tilapia.
    Our filled garden covers 150 square meters planted with kangkong, string beans, siling labuyo, okra, squash,
    Water melon, sweet potato, karlang, cassava, malunggay and patola.
    Our harvesting time happens every Friday by the Committee on Harvest. As of January, to April 2022, we
    harvested at least 20 kilos of vegetables from our garden.
    Regarding the enhancement and clean-up of the garden, I requested the assistant of the 4P’s beneficiaries
    thru the DSWD focal person and we agreed to have a Bayanihan sa Gulayan every First Friday of the
    month.
    The District monitoring was conducted last March 8, 2022 by Public Schools District Supervisor Nancy T.
    Iyog with District GPP Coordinator Al Wenceslao and District nurse Yvon Santisteban. Ma’am Nancy T.
    Iyog suggested that I have to make more bottles of Organic fertilizers and store different kinds of seeds so
    that our school will be assigned as one of the lighthouse in the district.

    IV. RECOMMENDATION :
    The Gulayan sa Paaralan Program is not only A program of the coordinator but a program of the entire
    school and the stake holders.We should work hand in hand for the success of our program and for the school
    as well.
