1. Discuss the nature and background of indoor and outdoor recreational
activities,
2. Participate in active recreation ,
3. Advocate community efforts to increase participation in physical activities
and
improve nutrition practices,
4. Practice environmental ethics (e.g. Leave No Trace) during participation in
recreational activities of the community.
I.LEARNING OBJECTIVES The Grade 9 learners are expected to:
 Identify and differentiate indoor and outdoor recreational activities;
 Participate actively in recreation performances (e.g. Zumba)
 Perform a zumba dance

 RECALL/MOTIVATION Activity No. 1: “Picture Parade” (Individualized activity)
Instructions:

 The teacher will now show pictures of different recreational


activities.
 The teacher will instruct the students to analyze and identify the
different pictures shown.
 After showing the picture, the teacher will call the students
randomly.

Activity No.2: “ In or Out”

Instructions:

 Group yourselves in 3
 The teacher will now give the cartolina and pilot pen to the groups.
 The teacher will now instruct the groups to make a Venn diagram
and analyze if the activities/games listed below are held indoor,
outdoor or both by writing in the circles.
 Together with the group, the teacher will only give them 2 minutes
to brainstorm and to write their output with their members.
 If the group is done, you can post it on the board.
 Choose a leader to justify your answers in front of the class.

The activity introduces another classification of recreation. This will widen


one’s knowledge on the different recreational activities that one can from.
Objectives:
1. To differentiate indoor from outdoor recreational activities.
2. To share personal experience in the different activities.

 ANALYSIS: Activity No. 3: “Watch and Learn” (Video analysis)


I have here video clip of active recreation. I want you to watch and
listen carefully, observe and take note of what you have watched.
After the video presentation, the teacher will ask questions in
connection with the shown clip.

Guide Questions:
 After watching the videos, do you think that your answers in
the previous activities are correct? Why?
 What have you learned in the video? Explain briefly
 ABSTRACTION Strategy: “Question and Answer”
Now you have the knowledge about active recreation, it’s high time
for the groups to have a game in connection with the video shown.
Whichever team will hit 2 points first will receive a prize. Your team will be
given a flag to raise when you want to answer. Questioned are flashed on
the screen. You are given 10 seconds to prepare. (collaborative learning
and brainstorming)

 APPLICATION: Activity: “Zumba Presentation “

Instructions:
 With the same group.
 The teacher will now instruct the students to do a simple 1-minute
Zumba dance.
 The teacher will provide the same music for all groups.
 To will be given 3 minutes to accomplish your mission.
 Present your routine to the class. Your performance will be
assessed considering the following criteria.
 Present it to the class

- Students are given time to conceptualized their own steps for their
Zumba Dance.
- Practice by group follows.
- Presentation proper.

Criteria for grading:
