What is a Narrative?
Narrative is a general term for a
story, long story or short story of
past, presents or future; factual or
imagined; told for any purpose; and
with or without much detail.
What is a fact?
Can you please read
A fact is something that is always
true.
Facts can be proven.
We can find facts by doing research.
Can you please give me an example of a fact
statement?
The sun is hot
What is an opinion?
Can you please read An opinion is what you think or feel.
It can not be proven.
Can you please give me an example of a
opinion statement?

I have here a narrative, can you please read.


My Favourite Pet

The best pet I ever had was a dog


called Rainbow. She was very
special to me.
She was a funny puppy. Her face
was like a kelpie dog and her body
was like a sausage dog and dogs
their sense of smell is at least 40x
better than ours. She would do
anything for me. She would not
come to dad but she would come to
me.
Rainbow loved me and I loved her.
Poor Rainbow was bitten by a snake
in our backyard last summer. We
were sad because she died on the
way to the vet.
Rainbow tried to protect me because
we were best friends. I will always
remember her and when it rains I
look up in the sky and I see a
reminder of her.

will write five fact sentence and five opinion
sentence about Christmas. After that the
leader will present your work in front of the
class.

The difference of this two is that fact
can be proven and opinion is can not
be proven.

Fact is a statement expressing


something that is true or real and is
supported by evidence. In contrast,
opinion is a person’s belief or
thought process regarding the
incident.

What is the importance of fact and opinion in
narrative?
The importance of fact and opinion
in narrative is to be able to recognize
differences between facts and
opinions so they know what to
believe and what to consider as
someone's perspective.
