FIELD STUDY 1 LEARNING EPISODE Preparing the

Learning
FS 2 5 Environment: An
Overview

Participate and Assist

What will you do to assist your mentor in setting up a conducive learning environment in
the following conditions:
1. Bulletin Board display.
There is no bulletin board.
2. Small Group Discussion.
I would suggest asking learners to divide into small groups. Facilitating a highly-
structured small group discussion may take more planning but may also provide a richer
and more inclusive experience for students.
3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom (i.e. Google meet or zoom).
Since it’s already face to face checking attendance is done in the class room.

Notice

Learning Environment 1:
 What have you noticed of the display in the class bulletin board? What
message or theme does it convey?
 What makes it attractive to the learners?
Does it help in the learning process? _ How?

For learning environment 1 there is no bulletin board in the classroom.

Learning Environment 2:
 If the teacher is using a distance delivery of learning through the
modules, where is most likely the learning space of the students?
 Can you describe? How can you as a teacher help to make such
environment conducive for learning?

For learning environment I didn’t observe distance delivery of learning through the
modules since it is already face-to-face learning.

Analyze

The example above, describe two contrasting situations. The first shows
that the learners are in the same room or space while in the second, the le
learners maybe in different learning spaces like homes, study hubs or in extreme
cases parks or under the trees.
As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage for
learning? Choose between Learning Environment 1 or Learning Environment 2.
Explain your choice: Why?
Although bulletin board is not available but I choose learning environment 1
which is face-to-face set up because it is easier for the teachers to teach and learners to
learn.

Reflect
Based on my noticing and analysis, I realized that
a. The situation and topics above are very relevant to learn.
b. It affects learners and teacher.
c. We can expand the learning options of the learners.
Write Action Research
OBSERVE Prompts

What probable problem may result from the two situations of the learning
environment?
The probable problem may result from the two situations of the learning
environment is that how sure the teacher are the learners learned using this two
learning environment.

Reflect

What solutions can I think of to solve the problem?

I think Learners also have some psychological needs for order and security, love
and belonging, competence and personal power, novelty and freedom and even fun.
PLAN

How should I do it?

It is important to meet these needs at all times and to help learners progress and
be taught with a positive attitude. Any learning environment, where instructors
accommodate these intrinsic needs, learners tend to be happier and more engaging.
There are less behavioral incidences than otherwise and this fulfilling learning
atmosphere help learners in developing the right learning attitude while establishing
positive relationships with peers.

Work on my Artifacts

In not less than 300 words, write an essay on the topic: “My Conducive Learning
Environment”
“My Conducive Learning Environment”
As a future teacher there are many choices that must be made in order for the
student to be successful. It is very important for a teacher that her learners succeed in
learning is a conducive learning environment. A conducive environment begins in the
mind of the learners they are developed through parents, teachers, peers, and
environment. A positive and a good learning environment are important for learner’s
success as it promotes academic achievement. Well success cannot just happen on its
own they must be created in home and school. There are many components that must
be considered in school to create a positive learning environment for the learners
creating a good school will first begin in the home and secondly at school . Parents at
home should love, good take care and provide the need while teachers in the classroom
should create a safer and a positive learning environment. A positive interaction in the
classroom should be created to help in promoting the students social and emotional
wellbeing inside the classroom. Improve learning environment will foster effective
academic performance. The other important strategy is developing a code of conduct in
school. A code of conduct in school will provide a clear and agreed upon rules on the
positive and negative behaviors that learners can follow. The school is reinforcing on a
positive behaviors through strengthening and motivating positive and productive
learning schools. Lastly, parent and teachers can help the learners by developing some
intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation will help the learners feel good about them and
help them to be productive in school. Teacher should build up a relationship with her
learners as soon as meeting them should endeavor to get to know the student example
is getting learners to fill out questioners about themselves, likes, dislikes, interest even
maybe a personal development sheet.
