What am I?
I AM A SIMPLE SENTENCE.
• Simple sentences are the most basic type of sentence in the
English language.
• They are made up of a subject and a predicate that expresses a
complete thought.
• A simple sentence can have one or more subjects and one or
more predicates, but it must contain at least one subject and one
predicate.
I am a sentence, plain and neat, With
subject, verb, and object complete.
Sometimes I'm short, just subject and
verb, or subject and object, with a
different curve.
What am I?
I AM THE STRUCTURE OF A SIMPLE SENTENCE.
• The structure of a simple sentence is typically subject-verb-object
(SVO). However, a simple sentence can also be subject-verb (SV) or
subject-object (SO).
• Here are some examples of each:
❑SVO: The cat chased the mouse.
❑SV: The cat meowed.
❑SO: The mouse ran away.

• The student: Mrs. Ayunda, what's so special
about simple sentences?
• Mrs. Ayunda : They're clear and concise! They
have one complete thought and only one
independent clause.
• The student: Like, "Birds fly"?
• Mrs. Ayunda : Exactly! Simple but effective.
CHARACTERISTICS OF SIMPLE SENTENCES

❑Simple sentences have a few key characteristics that set them apart
from other types of sentences:
1. They express a complete thought.
2. They have only one independent clause.
3. They are easy to understand and concise.

and concise. Here are some tips to help you write effective simple
sentences:
1. Use active voice.
2. Keep sentences short and to the point.
3. Avoid using complex sentence structures.
4. Use strong verbs and avoid unnecessary adjectives and adverbs.

An Exciting College Life
College life is full of challenges and
opportunities. Students attend classes, study
hard for exams, and complete assignments.
They also join clubs, make new friends, and
explore their interests. It is a time of growth
and discovery. Sometimes, it gets tough, but
students learn to manage their time, ask for
help, and never give up. In the end, the
college prepares them for the future and
helps them achieve their dreams.
My Memorable First Day of College

I woke up early and felt a mix of


excitement and nervousness. I grabbed my
backpack, which was filled with new
notebooks and pens. I arrived on campus
and was amazed by the beautiful buildings
and bustling crowds. I found my first class
and took a seat. The professor introduced
the course, and I took notes diligently. I met
some friendly classmates during breaks and
felt a sense of belonging. It was a memorable
day that marked the start of my college
journey.
My Productive Tomorrow
Tomorrow, I will wake up early and
go for a jog in the park. Afterward, I will
have a healthy breakfast and then start
working on my assignments. In the
afternoon, I will meet up with some
friends for coffee and catch up. In the
evening, I will cook a delicious dinner and
relax with a good book. It will be a
productive and enjoyable day.

My Love for English
My favorite course in college are definitely English. I loves
learning about the language and literature. The lectures is always
fascinating, and I find myself taking tons of notes. My professor, Dr.
Smith, is so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He make
the complex theories easy to understand. I also enjoys the group
discussions and projects, it are a great way to apply what we learn in
class. English is not only interesting but also relevant to everyday life. I
is so glad I choose this major!
