DAILY LESSON LOG OF M10AL-Ia-1 (Week One-Day Four)

School BANATE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL Grade Level 10

Teacher JESSA LOU CAPAPAS MOSQUEDA Learning Area Mathematics
Teaching Date Quarter First
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary
procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for
I. OBJECTIVES developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies.
Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy
in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sequences.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to formulate and solve problems involving sequences in different
disciplines through appropriate and accurate representations.
Learning Competency: Generates patterns (M10AL-Ia-1)
Learning Objectives:
1. Generate patterns
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives 2. Find the general or nth term of a sequence
3. Show patience in describing pattern and recognizing sequence and with endurance
in the formulation of the rule or pattern of a sequence in finding the nth term.
II. CONTENT GENERATES PATTERNS
III. LEARNING RESOURCES teacher’s guide, learner’s module, reference books
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages p. 14
2. Learner’s Materials pages pp. 9-10
3. Textbook pages
4. Additional Materials from Learning
Resource (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources Julieta G. Bernabe, et. al., Our World of Math, pp. 3-4
These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that pupils/students will learn
well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students which you can infer from formative
IV. PROCEDURES assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new
things, practice the learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in
relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
Let the students do the drill.
Drill:
Write the first five terms of the sequence whose nth term is given.
1. a n=4 n
A. Review previous lesson or 2
presenting the new lesson 2. a n=n

Answer:
1. 4,16,32,128,512
2. 1,4,9,16,25
B. Establishing a purpose for the
lesson
C. Presenting examples/ instances of Today, we will continue to formulate rule or pattern of the nth term of a sequence.
the new lesson
D. Discussing new concepts and To determine whether the students have an idea on how to find the nth term of the
practicing new skills #1 sequence, ask them how to formulate the rule or pattern of the sequence.
A review be given to the students to know how far they understood the concept. The
teacher will give the sequence,
4,7,10,13,…
E. Discussing new concepts and They are given 3 minutes to find the nth term .
practicing new skills #2
Answer:
a n=3 n+1
F. Developing mastery (leads to
formative assessment 3)
G. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living
H. Making generalizations and The question’s answer is drawn out from the students.
abstractions about the lesson How will you formulate the rule or pattern to find the nth term of the
sequence?
Answer:
To come up with the explicit formula, it will help if one will look at the pattern in the
sequence. Try to find the relationship between each term and its position in the sequence.
The teacher will let the students work on the items individually.

A. Write the explicit formula for each sequence:

1. 7,8,9,10,11,…
2. 2,8,18,32,50,…
3. 4,5,6,7,8,…
1 3 5
4. , 1 , , 2 , ,…
2 2 2
5. -3,-6,-9,-12,15,…
I. Evaluating Learning
Answer:
1. a n=n+6
2
2. a n=2 n +6
3. a n=(n−1)+4
11
4. a n= n
2
5. a n=−3 n

Bring the following:

J. Additional activities or remediation 1. 10 pieces Drinking straws or popsicle sticks
Read in advance pages 12-14 of your LM.
V. REMARKS
Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress. What works? What
VI. REFLECTION else needs to be done to help the pupils/students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide
for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.
A. No. of learners who earned 80% of the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation who scored below
80%
C. Did the remedial lesson work? No. of learners
who have caught up with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
