     Have you ever felt amazed
    on someone?

     Maybe because the person is beautiful,


    handsome, rich, kind, achievers and so on?
     Or when you are amazed by the beauty of the
    nature?

     how do you express it?


     There are some ways to show admiration,
    such as:

    1. showing admiration by short


    expression
    Such as: fantastic!, marvelous!, great!,
    awesome! , i love it!, etc

    2. with “What”,

    3. and With “How”


    With
    “What”
     What + a/an +noun phrase (adjective + noun) + Subject + predicate (to
    be : am, is are)

     e.g.
    1. What a beautiful view it is!
    what a Noun phrase subject to be

    2. What a scary hole it is! (betapa menakutkan lubang itu!)

    3. What a smart student you are (betapa pintarnya kamu)

    4. What a kind person he is (betapa baiknya dia)

    5. What an expensive car it is (betapa mahalnya mobil ini)


    Whit
    “How”
     How + Adjective +Subject + Predicate (to be: am, is, are)
     e.g.

    1. How beautiful she is!


    How Adjective subject to be

    2. How wonderful the Venus is!


    (betapa mengagumkan planet venus)

    3. How clever he is!(betapa pandainya dia)

    4. how kind you are!


    (betapa baik hatinya kamu)
     showing admiration with “what” dan with
    “how” bisa kalian lihat lebih jelas pada contoh
    kalimat dibawah ini:

    1. What a high building it is!


    Or
    What a high building!

    2. How high the building is!


    Or
    How high it is!
    1. What a high building it is!

    (“it is” bs kalian hilang kan. Maka kalimatnya


    akan menjadi: what a high building!
    (Dengan menghilangkan “it is” tidak akan
    merusak makna dari ekspresi itu)

    2. How high the building is!

    (Pada contoh yang kedua “it” kita hilangkan


    karena sudah ada kata bendanya yaitu
    “building” )
    EXERCISE
     Give an appropriate expression of showing admiration (with
    what and how) to the following short dialogue below!

     Sabrina : Hello lucky, what do you think about


    my new dress for party tonight?
    Lucky : Wow, .........................! (beautiful)
    Sabrina : Thank you, My mom made it for me.
     
     Riana : Hey Lisa, How is your score in
    English test?
    Lisa : It's not too bad. I've got 90.
    Riana : Wow, ......................! (clever)
    I only got 75.
    Lisa : Thank you. You have to study
    better.
    Riana : Yes it is.
     Bimo : Welcome to my new house Dodi.
    Dodi : Thank you. Wow, .................. (big)!
    I guess you were working hard for
    this.
     Bimo : Thank you. Yes, I spent all of my
    savings for this.
     Shanti : Look at a handsome boy over there!
    Anna :........................................!
    (handsome)

     
     Robert : Look at the baby!
    Carrol : .........................................! (cute)
     Andika : do you hear that anisa got 100 in
    exercise?
    Nina : Really? ..............................(clever)

     
     Mark : Hey, Ben! Let’s go to the beach!
    Ben : Great idea! But how can we get
    there?
    Mark : We can go there on my new
    motorcycle. Look at this! Is it cool?
    Ben : Terrific! ................................ (cool)!
     Anna : I am very hungry!
    Dika : you can eat this food
    Anna : ....................................! (delicious)
     Dad : look at the sky over there!
    Me : ....................................! (wonderful)
     Ana : I’m very hungry !
    Rabi : I have a rice box for you.
    Ana : Ohhh, ………………! (kind)
