In recent years, the world has been threatened by crime and terrorism. As a result, many countries have attempted to improve their public security through the utilization of video security devices. In particular, the huge scale of ubiquitous security system infrastructure has expanded throughout the world. On the other hand, a number of social and technical problems have surfaced recently, which has caused privacy infringement and the requirement of hardware performance for image recognition. To address these issues, smart video surveillance technology is becoming the backbone of the social infrastructure to analyze and manage images. Yet, many problems still remain before security can reach ideal performance because of the limitations of computing performance and lack of image recognition technologies. This paper discusses the recent video security market environment and assists to predict the future requirement for video surveillance market in United Kingdom and Korea. Through study of security technology trends, it constructs a list of video surveillance technologies that compare with the market requirement for the future and suggest the proper way to develop video security systems.

Research as well as enterprises are interested in detecting early signals for new developments and innovations. Therefore an increasing number of approaches to detect weak signals are developed and applied. Of course, technologies and applications also play a role within current signal detection research. Based on secondary sources, this contribution describes the results of a comparison of different technology-enhanced approaches for the detection of weak signals. We checked the literature concerning relevant case descriptions from 2009 to today. The analysis compares seven documented approaches including their utilization of technology in certain steps of the weak signals detection process. It can be shown that the current applications of technologies are very diverse. Case reports in the literature do not focus on reflecting about the technology use. In this paper, we fill this gap by offering a structured comparison as well as a comprehensive collection of reasons for or against either technology, including positive effects as well as challenges.

The “National Export Strategy (NES)” was first introduced by the Clinton Administration in 1993 and has continued through to the current administration of Obama to become a complete strategic system. To systematically evaluate the strategic and comprehensive effect of NES, this paper builds an evaluation model and index system with the methods of Analytic Hierarchy Process and Time Series Principal Component Analysis for the time period 1993-2012. The empirical study shows the positive and persistent effect of NES on export expansion, as well as job creation, trade rebalancing and trade liberalization. The study shows a limited and weakening effect on enhancing the international competitiveness, thus restricting the rising of overall strategic effect of NES. The study also illustrates that the current NEI as the core of export strategy of Obama’s Administration acts stronger than the previous strategies applied generally, but with a fast decreasing growth rate of export, whether the strong, sustainable and positive performance can be achieved in the near future, is still facing uncertainty.

The major purpose of the study is to assess the employability and productivity of nursing graduates of La Consolacion University Philippines. The study employed descriptive survey where the graduates of the nursing program from school year 2003 – 2004 to SY 2005 – 2006 served as the respondents of the study. The findings of the study suggest that the nursing graduates of the university are highly employable as shown by the 71.76 % employment record and had a sharp decline in employment in 2007 that is from 80.95 % to 54.34 %. The educational programs being offered by the university are relevant to the needs of industries and service units as shown by the finding that majority of the nursing graduates have jobs in line with their pre-service preparations. The nursing graduates of the university are highly employable as indicated by the finding that they find employment in one to six months after graduation. Finally, the productivity of nursing graduates in terms of their performance in licensure examinations needs extensive upgrading.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the nature of domestic debt and its concomitant implications on the economic with focus on construction sector services in Nigeria. This is because the sector superintends provision of infrastructure, which forms a major economic catalyst and national capital, critical to modern economies production functions. Hence, the research is based on extensive review of related literature as well as eliciting of primary data through structured questionnaires administered to stakeholders in the financial and construction sectors of the Nigeria economy. The study reveals that effects of domestic debt made production cost high, increased unemployment rate, and construction project abandonment etc as informed by Political/Social, economic and technical Reasons such as Political instability/Change of government, General paucity/Lack of Fund by Client and Time overrun beyond contract period etc public sector projects. While this research would help benefit and provoke the interest in field of macroeconomics in construction studies, it vectors and recommends the way of integrating and synergizing various economic segments into a holistic convergence for overall national development in Nigeria; potentially further and enhance benefits government policy makers.

The aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) is important to the airline operation. The C check and D check need the longer lead time and higher cost than A check and B check. It is the good opportunity for professional MRO Company to get the business from airlines. This study propose the Operation Management Model, which introduce the concept of lean production and sustainable development into the maintenance process and management process for MRO Company. Thus the MRO Company can increase the performance and competence in the competitive market.

The demand trend of civil aircraft is stable and increasing in the future years. Due to the material technology development and fuel price volatility, the composite materials become more important in aero-structures, also starting to apply in the aero-engine category. It is a good opportunity to integrate the supply chain in the aircraft composite parts and get benefits from well operation. This study propose the Competitive Operation Model, which introduce the concepts of value stream, risk management and lean production into the supply chain processes and management processes for aircraft manufacturers and aero-structures suppliers. Thus the aircraft manufacturers and their suppliers can increase the performance and competence in the competitive market.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between leisure boredom and quality of life for undergraduates in Taiwan. The researchers adopted the survey method. The scales of “leisure boredom (LB)” and “quality of life (QOL)” were used. A total of 403 undergraduate students from a university in southern Taiwan participated in the study. Descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation in SPSS 14.0 for Windows were employed to examine the collected data. According to the results, negative relationships were observed among leisure boredom and four dimensions of quality of life. Four dimensions of quality of life were revealed to be significantly related to leisure boredom, with the physical (r= -.39), psychological (r= -.48), social (r= -.52) and environmental (r= -.33) aspects being negatively related (p<0.01). Finally, suggestions for future researchers are provided to make further contributions to the field.

Since 2009, the Obama’s Administration carried out the new growth strategy to drag the U.S. economy out of the imbalanced and sluggish growth dilemma from the recession. For the 5-year-implementation of the measures, this paper draws the framework and summarizes the main measures applied. Further, the comprehensive assessment of the strategic effects shows that the strategy has played a positive role on accelerating the economic recovery, reducing the internal and external imbalance, expanding exports, revitalizing the substantive economy and promoting the sustainable economy development. But the federal government still needs to face the challenges. Finally, this paper discusses the implications of U.S. growth strategy to China’s economy transformation, industry development, international cooperation, and sustainable and balanced growth in the post-crisis era.
