Ve svém příspěvku chceme přednést, vysvětlit a diskutovat výzkum, na kterém začínáme pracovat. Náš přístup je inspirovaný ANT (teorií aktérů-sítí) a soudobými pracemi o etice a praktikách péče. Z tohoto přístupu vyplývá jak zvláštní, podvojný předmět bádání, tak obecnější přesah našeho výzkumu směrem k sociologické teorii.
Podoba pobytových služeb pro lidi označené za postižené se v Česku posledních let proměňuje. Velké ústavy nakonec přeci jen ustupují menším zařízením a domácí péči. Pořád ale zůstává hodně klientů v klasických ústavech. Z nich mnohé jsou umístěné v budovách, které jsou podobně křehké, zranitelné/zraňované, bezprizorné, na první pohled neužitečné a chabě propojené s okolím, jako jejich stávající obyvatelé: v bývalých zámcích, klášterech či historických vilách. Ty mají zvláštní historickou nebo kulturní hodnotu, zároveň však pro ně leckdy není vhodné využití a chátrají. Podobná směs zvláštních ohledů a zanedbávání je typická i pro vztah společnosti ke svým bývalým či ne-docela-platným členům – lidem, kteří se neobejdou bez zvláštní podpory a péče. Na jednu stranu prohlašujeme, že tito lidé by měli žít navzdory všem omezením co nejnormálnější životy, na druhou stranu jim k tomu nabízíme staré a těžko přizpůsobitelné budovy, hodně nepodobné těm, které běžně obýváme. V našich pobytových službách tak vzniká napětí mezi péčí o obyvatele (klienty) a péčí o jejich obydlí (budovy).
Normálně tuto dvojí starost pobytových služeb bereme jako dvě zcela různé a nesouvisející skupiny ohledů a požadavků. Obojí dokonce často stojí proti sobě: snaha chránit historické a chátrající budovy velí vracet těmto objektům původní podobu a zacházet s nimi šetrně; jsou-li v nich ale ubytováni staří/bezmocní/postižení, nutné úpravy a údržba vypadají zcela jinak (viz např. https://goo.gl/c8mF4L - “Život na zámku v 21. století. Pod vzácnými malbami mají postele děti i senioři“, Aktualne.cz, 17. 2. 2019). Přesto platí, že v některých důležitých ohledech zachraňují tyto staré objekty a v nich ubytovaní klienti jeden druhého. Potřebují se.
Ba víc, péče o budovy a péče o jejich obyvatele zde sice mohou být leckdy v napětí, avšak jindy může jít o praktické konání, které se vhodně doplňuje a má společný cíl. Účast na udržování domova je totiž jeho vytvářením, děláním. Dokonalé „hotelové“ či „nemocniční“ prostředí, které takovou účast nevyžaduje, je vlastně nenormální.
Naším výzkumným cílem je etnograficky popsat a analyzovat praxi údržby/péče (jak o budovy, tak o klienty) jako průsečík odlišných a často protichůdných, nikoli však nesouvisejících a zcela oddělených logik a hodnotových rámců. Zajímají nás přitom jak momenty konfliktu a napětí, tak možnosti toto napětí překračovat a zvládat produktivním a na obě strany smysluplným způsobem. V obecnějším smyslu půjde o příspěvek ke studiu materiálních a etických souvislostí péče a zároveň pokus o takovou sociologii, která se nezaměřuje na hladké, souvislé a dobře ohraničené předměty, ale na objekty vnitřně rozporné, rozeklané a napjaté.

The goals of this study were twofold: (1) to confirm a relationship between employee perceptions of psychological safety climate and safety behavior for a sample of workers in the rail industry and (2) to explore the relative strengths of relationships between specific facets of safety climate and safety behavior. Non-management rail maintenance workers employed by a large North American railroad completed a survey (n = 421) regarding workplace safety perceptions and behaviors. Three facets of safety climate (management safety, coworker safety, and work-safety tension) were assessed as relating to individual workers' reported safety behavior. All three facets were significantly associated with safety behavior. Dominance analysis was used to assess the relative importance of each facet as related to the outcome, and work-safety tension evidenced the strongest relationship with safety behavior.

The study investigated constraints to repairs and maintenances of electronic systems in technical colleges' workshops in Rivers State. The study adopted the survey research design. The population of the study was 342 persons comprised of 309 students and 33 teachers from the five technical colleges in Rivers State. A simple random sampling technique was used to obtain a sample size of 188 which comprises of 33 teachers and 155 students. A 10-item questionnaire was used to collect data. The questionnaire item was followed by a single response category based on a 5-point rating scale format of Very High Extent (VHE), High Extent (HE), Moderate Extent (ME), Low Extent (LE) and Very Low Extent (VLE). A test re-test method was adapted to test the reliability of the instrument to obtain a coefficient of 0.65. The data gathered was analyzed using mean and z-test analysis to answer the research questions and hypothesis respectively. The study revealed that absence of technical skills of workshop attendants and motivation of technical instructors are constraints to repairs and maintenances of electronic systems in technical colleges' workshops in Rivers State. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that an electronic repairs and maintenance company should be established by government which will enable electronic students to enroll for practical internship quarterly.

W 1996 roku podczas obrad V Szkoły Eksploatacji Podziemnej - największej konferencji górniczej w Europie - opublikowano książkę pt.: „Eksploatacja cienkich pokładów węgla kamiennego". Była ona podsumowaniem obrad jednej z sesji, w której wzięli udział autorzy
z kilku krajów zajmujący się tą problematyką.

Materiały konferencji, które trzymacie Państwo w ręku, wydane w serii International Mining Forum 2011 prezentują dotychczasowe polskie i światowe dokonania w zakresie eksploatacji cienkich pokładów węgla kamiennego. Wdrażanie techniki strugowej w Polsce realizują młodzi inżynierowie, dla których zautomatyzowany system eksploatacji stanowi prawdziwe wyzwanie wskazujące kierunek dalszego rozwoju - to eksploatacja z minimalnym udziałem ludzi w przodku, przy nowej roli i możliwościach technologii informacyjnych. Tworzą one nowe formy i sposoby obsługi dotychczas realizowanych procesów produkcyjnych, z powodzeniem wykorzystywane w nowej generacji techniki strugowej. Kolejne generacje młodej kadry wkraczającej do kopalń, obdarzone nowym rodzajem umiejętności, a przede wszystkim świadomości cechującej się szczególnym rozumieniem rzeczywistości (rzeczywistością jest przede wszystkim to, co jest na ekranie) są gwarantem, że ten kierunek poszukiwań nowych rozwiązań i dążenie do zatrudniania jak najmniejszej liczby ludzi na dole kopalń będzie coraz silniej rozwijany.
Dotychczasowe doświadczenia trzech kopalń (KWK „Zofiówka", KWK. „Jas-Mos", LW „Bogdanka" S.A.) dowodzą, że istnieją realne możliwości włączenia się polskich firm w dalszy rozwój kolejnych instalacji strugowych.
Wierzymy, że problemy poruszone w tym wydawnictwie oraz podczas podejmowanych dyskusji konferencyjnych stanowić będą idealne podsumowanie dotychczasowych działań podejmowanych w Polsce i na świecie w zakresie wdrażania techniki strugowej w górnictwie oraz wskażą kierunki dalszego rozwoju tej technologii.

Wälzlager stehen als hochbeanspruchte Bauteile von Maschinen seit Beginn der Einführung neuerer Methoden der Maschinenüberwachung im Mittelpunkt einer Vielzahl von Forschungsarbeiten und technischen Geräteentwicklungen. Dabei hat die Nutzung der Maschinenschwingung als geeigneter Schadensindikator immer eine zentrale Rolle gespielt. Während der letzten 40 Jahre hat es hierbei erhebliche Verbesserungen der zur Wälzlagerdiagnose notwendigen Messtechnik und eine Vertiefung der Kenntnisse über das Schwingungsverhalten geschädigter Wälzlager gegeben. Auf der Basis dieses Wissens konnten eine Reihe von Diagnoseverfahren entwickelt werden, die in ihren jüngeren Entwicklungen auch zunehmend ohne eine expertenabhängige Interpretation der ermittelten Beurteilungsgrößen auskommen [STR98].

Der Durchbruch im Hinblick auf die vollständig automatisiert ablaufende Zustandsbeurteilung ist allerdings erst in den letzten Jahren erfolgt, als die Fuzzy-Logik, die Neuronalen Netze und andere Methoden des Softcomputing eine zunehmende Akzeptanz in technischen Anwendungen fanden. Heute wird das große Leistungspotential derartiger Ansätze gegenüber scharf klassifizierenden Mustererkennungsansätzen von keinem Experten ernsthaft in Frage gestellt. Hierzu haben auch einige im industriellen Umfeld realisierte Lösungen beigetragen, die sich vor allem bei der Diagnose unter erschwerten Bedingungen wie z.B. bei stark schwankenden Betriebsparametern, verrauschten Messsignalen und variablen Drehzahlen bewährt haben. Ein ideales Wälzlagerdiagnosesystem sollte in der Lage sein, aufgrund einer einmaligen Messung an einem Lager zu einer hinreichend sicheren Aussage über den Lagerzustand zu gelangen. Die Ausprägung des Schadens, Einbaubedingungen des Lagers und Signalübertragungsstrecken zwischen Lager und Sensor und die Kenntnis der Drehzahl oder des exakten Lagertyps sollten für die Diagnose ohne nennenswerte Bedeutung sein [STR05,STR05b].

Im folgenden Beitrag soll gezeigt werden, worin die Schwierigkeiten bei der Erstellung eines derartig universellen Systems liegen und zumindest wesentliche Gründe liegen, warum ein solches System derzeit noch nicht existiert. Es wird aber deutlich, dass durch die Kopplung einer geeigneten Signalvorverarbeitung, einer sinnvollen Bestimmung von schadensbeschreibenden Kennzahlen und einem leistungsfähigen Merkmalsauswahl- und Klassifikationsalgorithmus zumindest Annäherungen an dieses Idealsystem möglich sind.

Purpose
The aim of the article is to analyze the rationale for choice of suppliers and the influence these decisions have on the firm’s capabilities.

Design/methodology/approach
We examine the choice of in-house operations versus buying maintenance in the Swedish mining industry through a qualitative case study approach.

Findings
The findings reveal a strong tendency to outsource maintenance.

Research limitations/implications
This in turn has a strong influence on the firm’s capabilities and long-term competitive advantage and sustainability.

Practical implications
Based on the empirical findings, we comment on the strength and weaknesses of the different outsourcing and attempt to find practical solutions that assist the firm in creating competitive advantage.

Originality/value
The unique contribution of this study is that it extends prior firm capabilities studies by investigating the impact of capability loss specifically in complex, intricate maintenance processes in a dynamic industry.

Based on very early occurring ruptures found in the first stage high pressure turbine blades of a turbo reactor in a local aviation company, this study has the aim to determine their safe life. The first stage blades are subjected to simultaneous action of gas pressure coming from the combustion chamber, centrifugal forces in the case of the rotor blades and to important temperatures transients, which progress in a very aggressive environment due to hot gases. These combined parameters cause a high state of stress involving several complex mechanisms of damage, such as: fatigue caused by mechanical stress fluctuations, thermo-mechanical fatigue caused by temperature variations and corrosion caused on the stressed elements. Life cycle determination asks for stress evaluation of blades regarding several variables which are approached deterministically in the study. Heat exchange between combustion gases and metal blades is considered. The total stress on two kinds of blades is calculated by the addition of the thermal effect and the mechanical loading. The stress cycle is then calculated for different steps of the engine function during the operation by considering the variation of the thermal and the mechanical properties of the system. Safe life determination is done by two different approaches: the safe life approach by the initiation model and the damage tolerance approach considering the defect growth mechanics and considering the pitting corrosion effect. The calculation is applied for stator and rotor blades of an aero engine high pressure turbine made of NI 738. Since these parts are high risk components from the point of view of potential failure consequences, the risk is assessed as well. The results obtained are studied to determine the solution to the problem, and to propose a safe decision to be taken about the design or maintenance procedures.

An accurate estimate of fixed operating costs is essential to determine the financial viability of any proposed project. Although other researchers have reported maintenance costs for large-scale concentrating solar power (CSP) plants in the United States [1-2], there is currently little information available specifically for small-scale CSP or solar Industrial Process Heat (IPH) plants. This paper discusses the maintenance of an operating small-scale CSP plant in Louisiana over a four year period. The results are also applicable to a small-scale IPH plant. Maintenance activities and costs are discussed for the collector field, the power block, and the cooling tower. For the collector field, a study of the degradation of mirror reflectance between washings was performed for three different types of reflective polymer thin films (3M 1100, 3M 2020, and Konica Minolta). Overall, the 3M 2020 film provided better reflectivity between washings than the other films. An optimized mirror washing schedule was determined. Optimal mirror washing schedules are very site-dependent, but for this humid subtropical location, the most economical washing schedule was found to be every 114 days, or approximately three times per year. A recommended maintenance plan for small-scale CSP and IPH plants is presented and actual maintenance costs over a four year period are provided. It was found that maintenance costs for small-scale plants are substantially larger than for large-scale plants, and that maintenance costs for small-scale IPH plants are much lower than for small-scale CSP plants, making IPH applications significantly more attractive. The average annual maintenance cost for a small-scale CSP plant was found to be approximately $457/kWe, or $0.27/kWhe. For a small-scale IPH plant the costs were $3.72/m 2 , $7.81/kWt, and $0.005/kWht.
