This paper aims to identify the determinants of outward foreign direct investment in eight countries in Asia region, namely, South Korea. Five main macroeconomics variables were identified influencing the rate of outward FDI in these countries. The factors are inward investment, employment, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), technology advancement and exchange rate. The study was based on the secondary data collected from World Bank data and United Nation (UNCTAD) data, comprising 15 years from 2000 to 2014. Being quantitative in nature, the data were regressed in Ordinary Least Square (OLS) tests using Stata. The results of the study showed that all macroeconomics variables are significant except employment factor.

Competency in mathematics lays a foundation for good analytical thinking and decision-making skills, which both can have a substantial influence on the sustainability of the individual life. The way mathematical skills are highly connected to most people is undoubtedly important in managing their money-related matters every day. Despite its importance as a core subject learned during the primary, secondary, and tertiary educations, the extension of the subject that plays a role in making someone in a better position of their personal financial welfares remain scarce. The objective of the study is to examine the relationship between 1) previous mathematics performance and financial literacy scores, 2) previous mathematics performance and financial well-being and 3) financial literacy and financial well-being among university students to shed light on the direction of the relationships. This research capitalizes the use of descriptive and correlation studies from survey responses among undergraduate students at Universiti Teknologi MARA Pahang (n=239). The findings revealed that, despite having both high scores in mathematics and financial literacy, their overall financial well-being standing was just at par, an indicator of financial breakeven. Positive correlations were established between variables but none of the relationships was found to be significant (p>0.05). It was further identified that among three types of major university financing, scholarship holders showed a significant difference in the previous mathematics performance. They were also recorded as the highest achievers in both financial literacy and financial wellbeing. Further explanations and implications of the study are discussed in detail.

The current research shows that green building received inadequate support from industry parties due to its high up-front cost. There are no existing guidelines focussing on how to minimize the issues of high up-front cost and for that reason, not all clients willing to get involved in green building construction. Hence, to increase their interest in investing in the green building, this research aims at formulating an economic model of green building construction using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The objectives of this research are to identify the green buildings elements, examine the most expensive elements, recommend the strategies in minimizing the cost of green building construction and to formulate and validate an economic model of green building construction. The model is one of the strategies to minimize the total cost, increase the client’s interest to invest in green building as well as facilitate construction stakeholders from inception to completion stage; in line with the Twelve Malaysia Plan “Economic Empowerment and Environmental Sustainability”.

PurposeThis study aimed to explore the technostress effects on the students' expectancy in their academic performance. Three main factors were used as predictors, namely techno-complexity (TC), techno-insecurity (TIS) and techno-overload (TO), to measure the students' performance expectancy via the mediating effects of student satisfaction (SS).Design/methodology/approachA total of 234 survey-based online questionnaires were filled by students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM). Based on the data, the hypothetical model was tested statistically using the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), specifically the Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS) version 3.3.2.FindingsThe results indicated that SS mediated the relationship between TC, TIS and performance expectancy. Nevertheless, the two predictors (TC and TIS) negatively affected SS, whereas SS positively affected the performance expectancy. The findings further revealed that reducing TC and TIS co...

Purpose – Students’ incompetence to deal with the intricacies of technology during the teaching and learning process may have negatively affected their online learning process particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It is critical to research technostress influence on online learning behaviours among undergraduates. Thus, this research intends to examine the predicting factors that contribute to technostress and the correlation between undergraduates’ technostress and the behavioural intention to use online learning. Methodology – This study employed an online survey and cross-sectional data towards 212 respondents, all of whom were Diploma students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pahang. This study added three new variables to the existing Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) namely teaching-related aspects, price value, and technostress. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was performed to analyse the measurement model and evaluate the developed ...

Using the quantitative approach, this study applied the cross-sectional design with micro-enterprise as the unit of analysis. The study employed the two-factor analysis techniques for the constructs of the model, namely exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmation factor analysis (CFA). Furthermore, the structural equation modeling (SEM) was carried out using AMOS version 21.0 to test the direct relationship of the proposed hypotheses. This study contributed to the theoretical and practical knowledge by providing new strategies that led to the development of innovations and positively improved firm performance, specifically for micro-enterprises. In addition, the findings will help the SMEs Masterplan towards achieving a high nation income by 2020 in line with The New Economic Model.

This paper was prepared as part of the Domestic Violence (DV) Against Women Research Project conducted by Johor Empowerment of Intellectual Women Association (JEIWA) Research and Development (R&D) with the support of Department of Women’s Development. The purpose of this paper is to propose a framework in investigating the factors that contribute to the prevalence of DV against woman and its influence on the performance at work. Violence against women deprives women of their right to fully take part in social and economic life. It causes a myriad of physical and mental health issues. An extensive investigation of related literature and a structured self-administered online survey is employed targeting woman in Malaysia. A conceptual framework was developed using the Gendered Resource and Socio-Cultural Integration Theories to describe several attitudes and behaviors which are used to support its relationship with performance at work. The findings from this research could help policy...

The purpose of this study is to use the Fuzzy Delphi Approach to obtain expert consensus on the effects of the cyberbully aggressor scale in the context of Malaysia. The purposive sampling method was used to select ten experts for this study. The experts were selected from a variety of educational levels and expertise areas. Most of them have 7 to 29 years of experience in interacting using ICT. For the purpose of revalidation, a revised version of The Cyber-Aggressor Scale (CYB-AGG) was used in this study. The study's findings revealed that there was a strong degree of agreement among experts because the average threshold value for the entire construct reached was 0.07474. The experts generally accepted most of the items, as evidenced by the total expert agreement percentage of 93%. The revalidation of this scale is a significant contribution of this study that may be useful for policymakers to develop more effective prevention programs in minimizing cyberbullying.

Blended learning is widely recognized as new teaching method in providing 21 st century learning skills. The growing body of literatures emphasis the use of technology in the classroom to enhance their learning experience. However, initial efforts often meet challenges due to resistance for change. Thus, there is a need to examine the readiness of blended learning practice amo ng undergraduates in university and critical successful factors as enabler conditions. Structured equation analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) provided significant support for the theoretical model. In specific, we found that technology access, online communication self-efficacy, online media and attitudes are significant to readiness. However, technical usage self-efficacy has no significant support on readiness. This study provides insightful perspectives for Higher Education Institutions to intensify the technology usage effectively in classroom for better performance.
