The aim of  this article is to map literature written by women in French Guiana, situating it  within  a  broader  literary  production.  To  do  this,  we  will  try  to  problematise  the  visibility  of  Guyanese authors in the context of  Frenchand Creole-language writing in their territory, taking into account the way in which female authorship appears inGuyaneseliterary compendiums. We also  intend  to  analyse  the  emergence  of  a  consolidated  space  for  female  and  Guyanese  literary writing from the end of  the 20th century onwards, based on Antonio Candido's (2017) discussions on literature as a system.

Resumo: A partir da análise do romance La vie bidim de Ambrosia Nelson, da escritora franco-guianense Marie-George Thebia, este artigo visa a tecer uma reflexão sobre o corpo da mulher negra e a diáspora como instâncias relevantes para problematizar a construção de um olhar estereotipado, racializado e centrado do corpo feminino. Tendo por base as considerações de Françoise Vèrges sobre a economia dos corpos esgotados, busca-se chamar a atenção para aquilo que a autora descreve como um dos objetivos da missão civilizatória colonial: a promoção de políticas sobre os corpos de mulheres as quais favoreçam o interesse da metrópole.

Abstract: This article aims to reflect on black woman bodies and diaspora as relevant instances to discuss the construction of a stereotyped, racialized, and engendered view of female bodies. To do so, it is based on the analysis of La vie bidim by Ambrosia Nelson novel, by French-Guyanese writer Marie-George Thebia. Focused on Françoise Vèrges’ considerations on exhausted bodies economy, this text draws attention to what the author describes as one of the colonial civilizing mission objectives: the promotion of policies on women's bodies that favor the metropolis’ interest.

Based on the analysis of the historical novel The free negress Elisabeth: prisoner of color (2004), by the Surinamese writer Cynthia McLeod, this article aims to problematize the construction of a discourse of History that, despite claiming to be legitimate, reveals a racist, misogynistic and ethnocentric bias. Dialoguing with the ideas of Akotirene (2019), Morrison (2019) and hooks (2015; 2020), we seek to draw attention to a literary writing that stresses the limits of representation in order to propose a project of anti-racist and feminist writing.

Resumo: A partir da análise do romance histórico The free negress Elisabeth: prisoner of color (2004), da escritora surinamesa Cynthia McLeod, este artigo visa problematizar a construção de um discurso da História que, apesar de se pretender legítimo, não deixa de trazer em seu bojo um viés racista, misógino e etnocêntrico. Tendo por base as reflexões de Akotirene (2019), Morrison (2019) e hooks (2015; 2020), busca-se chamar a atenção para uma escrita literária que tensiona os limites da representação para, então, propor um projeto de escrita antirracista e feminista.

A literatura produzida nas Guianas, região no extremo norte da América do Sul que compreende a Guiana Francesa, a Guiana, o Suriname e parte do norte do Brasil, é uma literatura marcada pela pluralidade étnico cultural e linguística, pela tematização das contradições sociais e pelo discurso sobre a marginalização de uma região que ficou conhecida como “Inferno Verde”. De ínfima reverberação na América do Sul e quase nenhum prestígio fora do território das Guianas, as narrativas que compõem esse espaço inscrito na heterogeneidade estão povoadas de personagens silenciadas historicamente, como mulheres escravizadas, presidiários, trabalhadores das lavouras, quilombolas – os chamados “marrons” –, entre outras, mas que falam, apesar de intermediados por um escritor ou uma escritora, enquanto representantes de culturas não valorizadas e/ou pouco conhecidas. A fala intitulada “Vozes silenciadas no meio do mundo: uma literatura de costas para a América do Sul” discutirá a produção literária nas Guianas abordando, mais especificamente, o modo como essa literatura questiona os paradigmas literários vigentes e resgata a problemática de outras vozes cuja legitimidade é continuamente posta em questão.

Suriname is located in the extreme north of South America in a region called Guyana
Shield, that includes French Guiana, Republic of Guyana, Suriname and part of Venezuela and
northern Brazil. It’s literature is marked by cultural and linguistic ethnic plurality and the thematization of social contradictions. In the case of the literature of Suriname, the narratives that compose this space inscribed in the heterogeneity are populated by characters historically silenced, as
enslaved women, workers of the plantations, "bushnengués", among others, but who speak, despite being intermediated by a writer, as representatives of cultures not valued and/or little known.
In this sense, this article will discuss two Surinamese historical novels written by Cynthia McLeod,The free negress Elisabeth: prisoner of color (2004) and Tutuba: the girl from the slave-shipLeudsen(2013),
addressing, more specifically, how her literature questions the current literary paradigms and discusses the problematic of women’s voices, whose legitimacy is continually put in question.

Abstract: This article aims to analyze The free negress Elisabeth: prisoner of color (2004), a historical novel from Suriname (country that is part of the Guiana region) written by Cynthia McLeod. The focus given to the research intends to problematize the way the place of speech acts in the construction of the fiction, highlighting historically silenced voices. In addition, the study of the place of speech of black women during the Dutch colonization in Suriname aims to contribute to the debate on racial and gender inequality that underlies colonial societies and remains to today. For the discussions, this research will be based on the reflections of Akotirene (2019), Morrison (2019) and hooks
(2015), among others.

Localizada no extremo norte da América do Sul, a região conhecida como Guianas é, ainda hoje, um território desconhecido pelas/os/es pesquisadoras/es/ies brasileiras/os/es. Seu contexto amazônico, multiculturalista e plurilinguístico, sua dinâmica social, seus fluxos migratórios e sua relação com o Caribe e a Europa entabulam uma complexidade muitas vezes refletida nos trabalhos e projetos inter-multi-transdisci-plinares que caracterizam as investigações acadêmicas desse espaço.

Nesse sentido, este livro busca trazer algumas reflexões sobre a literatura produzida na Guiana Francesa e no Suriname, levando em consideração o diálogo com diversas áreas do conhecimento, assim como com o seu entorno geográfico. Dividi a coletânea em três partes: a primeira dedicada à contextualização geo-política desses dois territórios; a segunda, à sua produção literária e, por fim, a terceira voltada às subjetividades
representadas na literatura da Amazônia e do Caribe uma vez que se constituem por atravessamentos psíquicos que estabelecem um movimento de aproximação e distanciamento da História e das identidades que circulam pelas Guianas.
