The article presents the pedagogical experience of the elective course “Feel the space: design with tactile models” held at the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of USP / S?o Carlos in 2014. From the critique of the primacy of seeing, the experimental activity proposed a housing design process with a visually impaired person, using models, plants and tactile maps. Were investigated and compared the free use of materials and processes with the use of digital fabrication - MDF plates manufactured with a laser cutting machine. As a result, it is presented the tactile representation system developed in the activity.

The architecture of contemporary museums becomes a powerful agent to the insertion and maintenance of art system institutions. The forces that define the relationships between form and image, and exhibition space and public space, in the architectural projects of contemporary museums undoubtedly bring to the agenda the reflection on the current concepts of museum architecture. This text presents an analysis of the relation between form and space inherent to museum projects by focusing the current context: Bilbao Guggenheim Museum and the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture.

This paper investigates the concept of topological processual diagrams, geometric way of surfaces construction in topology, and the paradigm of homoeomorphism shaping, procedure that keeps topological properties. It explores possibilities of using it as a process of architectural shape generation, combined to computer-aided modeling tools and rapid prototyping. It intends to go through two complementary ways of translation between object shape and topology: the making of architectonical objects in topological surfaces and, on the other way, the exploration of topological surfaces as architectonical objects.

In the current context, access to daily realities is becoming increasingly mediated and processed by maps, flooding us with spatial data that appears to be objective but needs to be questioned, or even disputed. On the other hand, there are some relevant aspects of the urban experience that elude the main maps provided by apps or big data visualizing projects. So this article points out alternative ways of mapping urban information in this context, by means of presenting and discussing the methodology and results of a mapping workshop carried out at a German university in 2017 with interdisciplinary groups of students. The aim was to provide new insights and readings of the contemporary city. We explored and invented the urban with a mix of creative research methods.

The article presents and discusses the experience of a workshop held online in 2020 as part of the DigitalFUTURES event. The proposal found its starting point in the register of a world in the midst of a pandemic crisis. The general objective of the workshop was the construction of a design thinking capable of acting on the domestic by means of a disobedience projected towards a possible future. In this framework, digital disobedience became an exercise in critically questioning certain ambiguities of digital interfaces in their everyday omnipresence. By adopting a decolonial sight on design through an epistemology from the South, it was possible to achieve at alternative figurations of futures. These figurations led to the design of a series of futuristic domestic devices capable of exploring disobedient scenarios of domestic dwelling.

in one side, by the philosophical concepts and, in other side, by the current senses in the cultural sphere – oscillating between them, emerge the senses in architecture and art. The event as an unforeseeable and not programmable rupture, central to the philosophies of Gilles Deleuze and Alain Badiou, is a critic concept to the contemporary context habited by programmed and prescribed events of performance. The emergence of effective evental sites, promoting rupture with the contemporary performing quotidian, is the main challenge to the digital and hybrid artistic/architectural practices, based in operations of regulated (un)foreseeability. Event context. This article presents results of a research on spatialities linked to the contemporary concept of experience. The work outlines the meanings that this term has acquired in the Culture of Experience, having two meanings as histo- rical perspective: that of Walter Benjamin on Modernity and that of the 1960s and 70s countercultural artistic actions. Finally, it analyses thirty five spatialities based on concepts, techniques, and effects, and proposes a critical approach to the strategic experiential modules formulated in recent years to the field of experiential marketing.

"Homo Faber 2.0: politics of digital in Latin America" Exhibition takes technology and politics as a reflection in Latin America of the consolidation of new technologies in the architectural production since the second decade
of the 21st century - as Gabriela Celani (2016) also pointed out when she reviewed some case studies that were shown in the first exhibition. Although the academy in the region promotes explorations with emerging technology, its progress is the result of the policy of those countries that have the most economic resources and research funding to make
it sustainable in universities and architecture studios (Sperling, Herrera, Scheeren, 2015). For Homo Faber 2.0, the organizing committee selected 37 projects from a total of 61 proposals. They were distributed in three categories:
- 12 projects related to design collaboration processes for changes in society with activities aimed at citizens in particular and strategies of subversion in the use of digital technologies.
- 19 projects related to processes and prototypes of conceptual research using formal and material experimentation, as well as the technological development of new techniques and products.
- 6 projects related to artisan-digital hybridism / neocraft / cultural identity that promotes the mixed use of artisanal and digital techniques for the creation of the artifact.

The HOMO FABER exhibition is an event related to CAAD Futures 16th Conference, "The Next City". The exhibition maps, in an unprecedented way, digital fabrication laboratories and other initiatives linked to the architecture field in the context of Latin America. As a sample of the recent yet already effervescent scenario of digital manufacturing in the region, the exhibition presents the production of 25 laboratories of universities, research groups, architecture studios and independent researchers. Based on the understanding that manufacturing is to inform the matter, the works exhibited show a range of interests and means, as well as openness to experimentation in processes and results.

The Public Intervention Project "GRU-111: Contracartografias" is part of the Project Contracondutas conducted by Escola da Cidade - originated from an action of the brazilian justice system within the actions of combat and eradication of labor analogous to slavery in the construction of Terminal 3 of Guarulhos International Airport, in 2013. GRU-111: Contracartografias takes the airport as object-icon of the contemporary context of mercadification and globalization to be interpreted and countercartographed; as an epicenter from which one can investigate broader correlations - but, articulated with the overall focus of the Project - between architecture, work, tourism, behavior, infrastructure, financialization, public and private, migrations, international trade, luxury, precarization, desires, exploration, control and flows, among others. The hypothesis is that it is possible to connect the existence of "labor analogous to slavery" to a larger universe of variables that construct the current context, and the airport, in particular.

This research aims to analyse Topology’s state of the art. Nowadays Topology is a key player in the dialogues that Architecture has historically stablished with other areas of knowledge. This work points out and systematizes contemporary approximations with Topology made by architects and developes their ideas by means of the concept of topologic processual diagram. This threefold concept (topology, process, diagram) is investigated in different areas such Cognitive Science, Logic (Mathematics and Semiotics) and Philosophy, in order to enrich the analyse of its actuation in the field of Topology. In this analysis, the topologic processual diagram is described as an operative- representational medium of spatial structural relations (the object’s topology), with three variables: thought, space and time. Finally, this concept is investigated within the realm of the project and representation in Architecture, building up a critical dialogue with diagrams, its use and reference, as performed by paradigmatic contemporary architects - Bernard Tschumi, Peter Eisenman, Greg Lynn, Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV, Ben van Berkel, Lars Spuybroek and others.

This thesis reflects over the possibility of the existence of a “mobility field” for architectural critical practice in the contemporary world, defined by agreements in social, economic, politics and cultural spheres. The study takes as fundamental notions for its propositions the terms “space” and “event” (and the notions that they activate: experience, subject, body, time), and from these aspects the following hypotheses emerged. The first is the notion of “event”, from Alain Badiou philosophy, could open up critical investigations about the design and spatialization practices in contemporary architecture. And the second hypothesis is that the mentioned notion could conduct to the reconsideration of the relation between aesthetics and politics in the field of architecture. The framework of the study assumes as its point of departure the systematization and problematization of the critical theory of architecture from Bernard Tschumi based on the space-event relation. In its second moment, the thesis aims to elucidate how a certain notion of “event” has been apropriated by the contemporary cultural sphere and to present the logics as it operates not only in this sphere, but in a type of architecture that extensivelly has been transformed in its correlate. The analyses of the two previous conceptions of the space-event relation indicate the need for the investigation of other fields for critical action in architecture, and as well for the space-event relation itself. In a third moment, this study proposes the architecture (the spatialization processes and the spatialities that they engender) as evental space, establishing as mediation the thought about the “event” of the contemporary french philosopher Alain Badiou, and more specifically about the political event and the space on which takes place.

diverse, heterogeneous and decentralized conditions. After several years, there was not a comprehensive perspective on the situation in the region. The goal of this paper is to present a project called ``Homo Faber: Digital Fabrication in Latin America'' and some of its results. The project comprehends the creation of a database that led to researches and exhibitions about digital fabrication in design, architecture and building construction in Latin America. The questions that guide the investigation try to understand which factors contribute and limit the potential of automation in material processes towards 4.0 industry.

This study focuses on the design process that uses the digital environment in the context of undergraduate courses of Architecture and Urbanism, mainly the Digital Architectural Design (DAD). From the author's previous studies that classified the teaching practice in Latin America, the Brazilian data were analyzed due to its expressive and heterogeneous features. Faced with a scenario that points to institutional characteristics reflect in the teaching approach, a horizontal mapping was performed. A data cross-referencing through correlation methodology was carried out. As a result, there is a prevalence of public institutions that use teaching practice using DAD, most of them located in South and Southeast with a close link between teaching and research.
