Aromanian

Në veprën e tij “Fonologjia historike e gjuhës shqipe” (Tiranë 1996) prof. Shaban Demiraj i kushton një kapitull të veçantë rotacizmit në gjuhën shqipe duke shtjelluar disa çështje themelore, si p. sh. periudhën kur është shfaqur ai  dhe marrëdhëniet e tij me hundorësinë. Demiraj përmend gjithashtu faktin që ky fenomen fonetik ka vepruar dikur edhe në rumanishten, megjithë rezervat që ka sa i takon një lidhje midis këtyre dy gjuhëve ballkanike në këtë pikë. Ne do të përpiqemi ta përshkruajmë më gjerësisht këtë dukuri të përbashkët në rumanishten, e cila përfshin edhe një lloj tjetër rotacizmi që nuk ekziston në shqip, konkretisht rotacizimin e l-së në r. Ky i fundit ka mundësi që të jetë i implikuar edhe në emrin etnik të vendit tonë dhe banorëve të tij në mesjetë, krh. Albania ~ Arbën, Arbëni.

Në këtë artikull jepet një pasqyrë e elementeve të përbashkëta fonetike dhe gramatikore të arumanishtes, rumanishtes dhe shqipes duke u bazuar në një skicë gramatikë të të folmeve arumune të rretheve Gjirokastër, Sarandë, Delvinë e Përmet të hartuar nga S. Poçi (2009). Botimi i kësaj gramatike të parë të këtyre të folmeve përbën një sukses dhe një hap përpara në studimin e të folmeve arumune të Shqipërisë që pritet të pasohet edhe nga botime të tjera të këtij lloji.

Synimi i autores është që duke përshkruar afëritë midis armënishtes dhe rumanishtes të tregojë se teza e parashtruar në këtë gramatikë se armënët janë grekë të latinizuar dhe gjuha e tyre ka qenë greqishtja që u latinizua më pas, nuk qëndron shkencërisht. Për këtë autorja krahason sistemin emëror dhe foljor të të dyja gjuhëve dhe nxjerr konkluzionet përkatëse për elementet e tyre përbërëse. Afëritë gramatikore dhe leksikore midis armënishtes dhe rumanishtes janë shumë të mëdha. Inovacionet që vërehen në sistemin e lakimit emëror të armënishtes janë padyshim zhvillime të saj të brendshme dhe të krahasueshme me zhvillime paralele në gjuhë të tjera romane. Gjatë analizës dalin qartë gjithashtu dhe ndikimet e shumta që ka ushtruar shqipja në sistemin emëror dhe sidomos foljor të armënishtes si pasojë e bashkëjetesës së gjatë të këtyre dy popujve.

Es ist nichts Verwunderliches, dass sich die Kodifizierung als grundlegender Bestandteil der Standardisierung gerade im Fall der sogenannten " klein " romanischen Sprachen ausgesprochen dynamisch und komplex ge-staltet und jeweils eigene Wege geht. Diese Eigenschaften sind auf die spezi-fischen und sich wandelnden geschichtlichen, kulturellen und politischen Faktoren zurückzuführen, die in den Ländern vorgeherrscht haben bzw. vorherrschen, wo sie in der Regel neben einer anderen Sprache vorkommen. Die Koexistenz ist gewöhnlich durch Konkurrenz und nicht selten sogar durch Konflikte gekennzeichnet. Konkurrenzerscheinungen können aber auch innerhalb des Kodifizierungsverlaufs derselben kleinromanischen Sprache auftreten, der, als sprachpolitischer Akt, eine identitätsmarkierende bzw.-stiftende Rolle 1 spielt, wie etwa die alpenromanische 2 , die galicische oder die aromunische Realität zeigen, um nur einige zu nennen. Besonders komplex und dynamisch stellt sich der Kodifizierungsverlauf des Aromunischen dar. Dabei handelt es sich um einen plurizentrischen Pro-zess, der durch die weite Verbreitung der aromunischen Enklaven in Süd-osteuropa – seit etwa einem Jahrhundert in sechs Nationalstaaten (Albanien, Bulgarien, Griechenland, Republik Makedonien, Rumänien, Serbien; cf. z.B. Prifti (im Druck) – bedingt ist.

Abstract: The revival of themes concerning UNESCO cultural heritage, which emerged at the end of the 20th
century, poses many questions in reference to the need, essence, and discourse on the subject as well as areas beyond it. One of these questions seems to be the cultural heritage of nationals communities in Europe, which were doomed to assimilation, persecution or even oblivion in the second part of the 20th century. In recent times, the
critical research trend on cultural heritage has pointed out that the essence of heritage is a choice which transforms cultural achievements into “our heritage” – the areas of culture that we choose and often protect and pass on to the next generations. However, beyond “our protection,” there is a realm of “oblivion” which may include “alien” tangible and intangible objects about which we do not care, which do not matter to us and which we do not want to pass on to our heirs. It is a space of all forms of “our” degradation and marginalization of an “alien legacy,” a
space where we often let this legacy become forgotten. It can be stated that the example of the Vlachs perfectly illustrates the complex processes related to cultures which were overwhelmingly subjugated by their neighbours and lost the fight. A neighbour, usually representing the culture of the majority, was stronger culturally, economically, politically and often militarily, too. The following article focuses on the phenomena which classical anthropology used to inspect, claiming that its role is to protect what is fading into oblivion. Thus, the analysis of the Vlach culture presented herein refers to a much wider reflection, which is a synergy of ethnography,
ethnology and cultural anthropology, and to the critical studies on heritage which are emerging in Poland.
This presentation will analyse the principal problems concerning research on the cultural heritage of displaced
communities in Europe from the perspective of the Vlach minority. Based on the field research conducted in several countries of Europe (e.g. Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland), I will present the
main classification of the Vlach tangible heritage with special attention paid to the most important cultural monuments, including religious building developments (churches, icons, small religious architecture). I will portray the difficulties found in protecting this heritage and the role of cultural institutions in its preservation and exposition.

Pentru portretizarea negustorului „grec” prin elucidarea aspectelor confidențiale ale afacerilor lui (legate cu precădere de bani și mărfuri), pornind de la virtuțile și emoțiile deja rezultate și exploatând, ca suport de stocare a oricăror asemenea informații, sursele documentare grecești (registrele, actele contabile și corespondența comercială din fondurile arhivistice păstrate), precum și evidențele din literatura juridică medievală (de redacție preponderent latină), lucrarea analizează dimensiunile secretomaniei manifestate în uzanțele practice și scripturale ale vechii umanități mercantile din spațiul eurobalcanic (secolele al XV-lea – jumătatea secolului al XIX-lea). Generos ilustrat cu secvențe inedite din documente (inclusiv în cincisprezece reproduceri fotografice), studiul urmărește să unifice coordonatele – comunicare, act scriptural, arhivologie – ce clarifică măsura în care arhivele comerciale aduc mărturia obsesiilor și compulsiilor secretoase ale negustorilor, în special ale celor „greci” și ale celor care le-au inspirat cutumele.

Documentele grecești din fondurile caselor și companiilor comerciale aromânești atestă reflexe de codificare a mesajelor, contextelor și numelor întreprinzătorilor din negoțul eurobalcanic. Analiza acestora este structurată de un set de riscuri mercantile ce impun măsurile de precauție: spionaj economic și politic, Arcana Artis, afaceri mari, bani, călătorii, caracterizări și recomandări, operațiuni de creditare, procese, „economia secretelor”. Scrierile criptice, plăsmuirile de cuvinte și recurgerea la pseudonime și supranume reprezintă, dincolo de majore impedimente paleografice, strategii de tăinuire a realiilor comerciale (mărfuri prohibite, valute interzise, comisioane și dobânzi ascunse, credite, favoruri etc.).

Aparatul normativ al catastihografiei medievale relevă viziunea teoretică a epocii (epocă generatoare a conceptului istoriografic „economia secretelor”) despre gama consuetudinilor mistice ale negustorilor – pornind de la protejarea corespondenței, ținerea registrelor secrete, ascunderea arhivelor –, pentru a dezbate în esență prudența excesivă față de invocările juridice ale acestor arhive private. Este divulgată o anume discreție a catastihografilor, care, în spiritul secretului profesional păzit cu sfințenie de breslele medievale (Arcana Artis) și cu atât mai mult de tagma negustorească, ocultează metodologia registrelor comerciale și, în consecință, „arta” de a număra și justifica fluxul banilor.

În concluzie, după conturarea acestor niveluri ale secretomaniei mercantile, pășind în continuare în sfera secretoșeniei familiale ‒ casa și firma comercială coincid cu entitatea socială creatoare ‒, se vor putea străbate pistele demne de sondat pentru descoperirea informațiilor personale sensibile în lumea negustorilor „greci”, cu ecou în nomele sociale și în trăirile lor emoționale: regimul legăturilor de sânge, al alianțelor ori scindărilor, istoricul medical psihomental.

L’articolata distribuzione geografica delle varietà romene è un riflesso delle complesse vicende storiche che hanno interessato l’area balcanica e carpato-danubiana dalla tarda Antichità fino all’Età moderna. Per secoli i romeni hanno convissuto con popolazioni di lingua diversa: ungheresi, slavi, albanesi, greci, tedeschi, turchi ecc. La formazione degli Stati nazionali (1821-1923) ha prodotto una prima semplificazione del quadro geo-linguistico, che, tuttavia, all’inizio del Novecento, rimaneva ancora estremamente variegato. In Romania risiedevano grosse minoranze alloglotte. Altrettanto cospicue erano le comunità romene presenti in altri Stati. Ben più radicali e traumatici sono stati i mutamenti causati, nel Novecento, dai due conflitti mondiali, dai nazionalismi di destra e di sinistra e dall’imperialismo sovietico. La caduta del muro di Berlino, con la fine dell’URSS e la disgregazione della Iugoslavia, ha significato per alcuni gruppi minoritari il riconoscimento della loro specificità linguistica (romeni dell’Ucraina e della Vojvodina, aromeni della Repubblica di Macedonia). Limitati sono rimasti invece i diritti degli aromeni albanesi e dei romeni della valle del Timoc. La situazione più critica è quella degli
aromeni e dei meglenoromeni greci, che non godono di nessuna forma di riconoscimento. Nonostante i passi avanti compiuti negli scorsi decenni, il quadro complessivo appare piuttosto fosco a causa della forte contrazione demografica che ha interessato le comunità di lingua
romena a partire dal 1989.

La complexité de la distribution géographique des variétés roumaines est le reflet des événements historiques qui ont marqué l’histoire de l’aire balkanique et carpato-danubienne de l’Antiquité tardive jusqu'à l'époque moderne. Pendant des siècles, les Roumains ont cohabité
avec des peuples de langue différente : Hongrois, Slaves, Albanais, Grecs, Allemands, Turcs etc. La formation des États nationaux (1821 -1920) a produit une première simplification du cadre géolinguistique, qui, cependant, restait encore extrêmement varié au début du vingtième siècle. En Roumanie, il existait d’importantes minorités linguistiques. De nombreuses communautés roumaines résidaient dans d’autres pays de l’Europe Sud-orientale. Les changements causés par les deux conflits mondiaux, par les nationalismes de droite et de gauche et par l'impérialisme soviétique ont été beaucoup plus radicaux et traumatisants. La chute du mur de Berlin, avec la fin de l'URSS et la désagrégation de la Yougoslavie, a signifié pour quelques groupes minoritaires la reconnaissance de leur spécificité linguistique (Roumains d'Ukraine et de la Voïvodine en Serbie, Aroumains de la République de Macédoine). Par contre, les droits des Aroumains albanais et des
Roumains de la Vallée du Timoc (Serbie) sont restés limités. La situation la plus critique se rencontre en Grèce, où les Aroumains et les Mégléno-roumains ne jouissent d'aucune forme de reconnaissance. Malgré les progrès réalisés au cours des dernières décennies, le cadre général
apparaît plutôt sombre à cause du déclin démographique qui a caractérisé les communautés de langue roumaine à partir de 1989.

В статье исследуются дискурсивные стратегии билингвальных носителей трех находящихся в контакте диалектов: македонского, арумынского и албанского говоров региона Преспа в Македонии. На основе анализа интерференции в речи билингвов делается вывод о социолингвистическом результате ситуации языкового контакта.

Against the background of the widely spread contemporary approaches to language variation, which take advantages of the quantity relevant methods usual for natural sciences, the dialectology of Balkan languages employs traditional methods of humanities. The Balkan linguistics addresses qualitatively relevant representative linguistic data, studies in detail the linguistic context of phenomena, reckons systemic restrictions in distribution, looks for isosemantic, isomorph and isofunctional cross-linguistic parallels, interprets areal facts through language contacts and history. The article applies these approaches to the prepositionless nonfinite predicates governed by modal verbs – the infinitive, participle and verbal substantive of the Balkan languages. It comes out on the one hand that the relevance of variation parameters is significantly different and the inventories of forms and structures are language-specific. On the other, the contact-induced character of the binary isosemantic and isomorph crossBalkan parallels under investigation is obvious. Language contact is a systemic factor which makes morphosyntactic variation in the Balkans more complex, and search for the new parallels will ever remain a promising task of the Balkan linguistics.

This article provides a brief overview of the system in the preteritate
system of western Macedonian dialects in both the linguistic-internal
and areal-typological aspect.
In addition to the “simple past tenses”, Macedonian has a tripartite
series of analytical forms, showing a wide range of perfect (resultative,
experiential) and modal (evidential, admirativ, optative) values. The
grammatical tradition in Macedonian linguistics calls these forms “perfects”.
It is assumed that their appearance in the Macedonian language is
due to, among linguistic-internal reasons, the fact that Macedonian has
been in close contact with other languages of the Balkan linguistic union
(Albanian, Aromanian) and a multi-step process of mutual calquing.

Of the four living varieties of Balkan or Southeast European Romance –Daco-Romanian, Aromanian, Megleno-Romanian and Istro-Romanian– only Daco-Romanian has been able to form a national language. Despite a written tradition dating back to the 18th century, most Aromanians today do not write their language. Due to the smaller number of speakers, the situation of Megleno-Romanian and Istro-Romanian is even more difficult. According to UNESCO (1999), (Daco-)Romanian is classified as not endangered, Aromanian as endangered and Istro- and Megleno-Romanian as seriously endangered. The paper analyzes the impact of the following factors on Aromanian preservation: lifestyle and patterns of settlement, intensity of the contact, religion, linguistic prestige, code function of minority languages, and economic dependencies.

The paper offers a critical survey of vulnerable and endangered languages and linguistic varieties in Serbia presented in three international inventories: UNESCO?s Atlas of the World?s Languages in Danger, Ethnologue and The Catalogue of Endangered Languages. As the inventories differ widely in terms of assessing the exact level of language endangerment and vulnerability, and lack to provide empirical support for their assessment, the paper provides thorough information from official local sources, relevant studies and the authors? own field research, when available, on the language categorized as endangered (Aromanian, Banat Bulgarian, Judezmo, Vojvodina Rusyn, Romani), but also presents additional linguistic varieties which have not been registered yet by any of the mentioned inventories (Megleno-Romanian, Bayash Romanian and Vlach Romanian).

This paper provides an analysis of the language situation in the villages of the multi-ethnic Prespa region (Republic of Macedonia): Krani and Arvati. The language situation in these villages appears to be especially noteworthy in juxtaposition with the general language situations in Republic of Macedonia. Interestingly, the local bilingualism has no religion restrictions , so Orthodox Macedonians master Albanian language, which is unusual for other Mace-donian regions. The most significant features of the Prespa language situation are the following: 1) a relatively high degree of linguistic competence of Macedonian informants in the Albanian language; 2) the young age of second language acquisition; 3) the use of the Albanian language as a primary means of communication within the village; 4) the absence of code-mixing in the narrative.
