Although service-learning pedagogy is widely applied internationally, and has been shown to effectively incorporate the experiential element of adult learning, its application to business education in South Africa has been limited to less than a handful of studies. However, it is one of the most effective management development tools reported in the literature. The objective of this study was to evaluate the student learning and community organization benefits from introducing service-learning into a Master of Business Leadership (MBL) programme in a South African University. Service-learning creates the opportunity for students to apply the theoretical knowledge of their discipline (marketing and operations management in this study) to real (usually Non-profit or Non-Governmental Organizations) workplaces, in this case special-needs schools in various African countries, to the benefit of the needy organizations. In this exploratory, action research case study, teams of MBL students embedded their theoretical learning through practical implementation of a fund-raising project, as well as showed the development of management and leadership competencies. The groups collectively raised South African Rands (ZAR) 1 811 128.57 (after expenses and excluding pledges) for the schools. The business school students reported high levels of personal growth, a strong sense of having developed as socially responsible citizens, an appreciation for practical learning methods and improved subject matter learning.

Amid the emergence of the 21st century, a new era of modern business has set in India. Liberalization and globalization of Indian economy have provided challenges and opportunities to our new business and which has necessitated re-engineering of the present management education system. Recently, Union Budget is also decreasing the fund for higher education in India for the last five years. This research is focused mainly on existing problems and challenges which are needed to be addressed and seeks to provide the solution thereabout. At present in India, there exists three-tier management education administration i.e., Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Entrepreneur's and prestigious industry run best management institutes and management departments of Universities. Besides this, private B-Schools and non-statutory business training institutions also impact business education leading to MBA degree or PGDM diploma. Unfortunately, most of the students don't get the job in the completion of the course. In most of the cases, even the best student doesn't cater to the needs of the market because in the formal education system the gap between what is taught and what is demanded by the market is evident. Hence, an urgent need to rethink and redesign the management courses has arisen. It discusses the rationale of re-engineering of the whole management education system i.e, Admission, Instruction, Infrastructure, Regulation, Examination, Certification, Training and Placement etc.

The report has been generated after the consultation from the managers of ABC Company who is the franchisees of McDonald's in London. The ABC Company employs a large number of ground level staff from the immigrant community mainly from the Asian and African countries. But most of the supervisors and higher-level managers of the McDonald's franchisee are from the United Kingdom and there have been difficulties in managing, motivating and developing the employee satisfaction at their stores. The analysis is conducted based on the cultural differences between the individuals of the United Kingdom and the individuals from the Asian and African countries (taking India as a reference). It has been analysed that due to the differences in the cultural dimensions developed by Hofstede such as the power distance index, individualism and long-term orientation between the supervisors and the employees (who are from the United Kingdom and Asian and African countries respectively) contribute to the difficulties in the management. The solution to the problem is an increased awareness about the expectations and the perceptions of the two groups of employees. The recommendation is that cross-cultural training be provided initially to the supervisors in a broad-based manner so that they are able to manage their employees from the different social and cultural backgrounds. Further training can be provided to the employees from the Asian and African cultures so that they are aware of the expectations from the supervisors and management. This can contribute to better service quality at the stores and increased customer satisfaction.

COURSE: MBA MIS STUDENT NO: R1907D8930012 THIS MODULE: Induction Module (12245) Assignment 1-Paraphrasing and Summarising POLISHING YOUR WRITING 1. A paraphrase of the text: In sourcing methods in which one can improve on research papers, editing plays diverse useful and cogent roles. Editing demands a rewrite also just like revision, but by fine-tuning words and phrases to making delicate and precise changes to improving language and its application, instead of making significant changes in the content. It also entails seeking patterns to improving your research paper by describing things more clearly and descriptively, removing irrelevant content, making changes in the use of vocabulary and avoiding repetitive uses of words. Additionally, editing also involve detecting and fixing incomplete and run-on sentences, grammatical errors, spellings and punctuations (Elisson, 2010, p. 145).

In order to demonstrate the efficacy of Remediation by Enhanced Natural Attenuation (RENA), this work utilized various available research data. Based on the theoretical framework associated with bioremediation, the influence of RENA on Total Hydrocarbon Utilization Bacteria (THUB), Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH), Total Nitrates and Phosphates, and the levels of heavy metals were investigated through available research results. From statistical analysis presented in these research results, there was significant indications that RENA can be employed as a positive means of cleaning-up crude oil polluted sites. As expected in bioremediation, the levels of THUB during RENA increased, indicating that biodegradation was taking place, which is in agreement with several research findings in bioremediation. The levels of TPH significantly reduced in all case studies, which is also a strong indication that RENA can adequately serve as a bioremediation technique. Reduction in TPH level is made possible by the increasing levels of hydrocarbon degrading microbes. The result for Case Study 2 equally showed a reduction in the levels of nitrates and phosphates which were added to stimulate the process. The reduction in nitrates and phosphates is a strong confirmation of microbial activities going on during RENA. Finally, the decreased levels of lead(pb), cadmium(cd) and zinc(zn) are also typical of microbial adsorptive mechanism.

Without a doubt, the shipping industry is one of the most important players in the economy, both domestically and globally. With the help of shipping it is possible on the one hand to move goods and goods and on the other hand to produce port services. In recent years it has been seen that all companies engaged in the field of trade and providing transport services, implement modernized technological means, which are either more or less conservative, in order for these companies to stabilize their dynamic market presence. and at the same time develop competitive advantages while maintaining the position they have already occupied. In the present work, concepts related to shipping are mentioned in order to better understand the specific sector and its operation. All the actions taken by the shipping companies aim to make themselves more attractive in this field while providing services that will be more satisfying and will create memorable experiences for their customers. This will increase not only the customer base but also the market share in which these companies operate. Almost the same actions are carried out in the field of shipping and more specifically in the shipping companies which are the means that mobilize the shipping network.

Synchronous hybrid delivery, defined as a course option where mutually exclusive groups of online and on-campus students are taught simultaneously using real-time audio and video technology, is becoming more common in higher education. This paper reports on a study whose objective was to investigate how online versus on-campus attendance in synchronous hybrid graduate business programs affects the relationships among students' need satisfaction, motivation, and perceived success. Ryan and Deci's self-determination theory was used to guide the analyses and interpret the results. Survey data involving 112 hybrid graduate business students revealed that need satisfaction significantly predicted several categories of motivation, which in turn predicted perceived success. For online students, perceived favorability of online and on-campus delivery was significantly correlated with key dimensions of need satisfaction and perceived success. The results also indicated that there are few significant differences on types of motivation and psychological needs between online and oncampus hybrid students; an exception was that online students reported significantly lower levels of relatedness than their on-campus counterparts. Differences based on attendance mode, may not be as substantial as was once thought.

The critical cross-field outcomes (CCFOs) formulated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) are generic competencies designed to underpin all national qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). They are intended to provide the basis for lifelong learning, personal growth, honest business acumen, critical, creative thinking and aesthetic appreciation. However, little work on these important learning outcomes has been published, despite their high face validity, and this exploratory study amongst MBA graduates is intended to stimulate interest and further research into this important area.Although the findings cannot necessarily be generalised due to the specific sampling methodology among 53 MBA graduates from Wits Business School (graduating between 1998 and 2002), it was found that the CCFOs were collectively important to their careers, although individually, some were considered more important than others. The sample also perceived that...

For the majority of students, the UK / the US dissertation writing is a far most challenging piece of academic work that they have attempted or ever likely to try in the future. The majority of the students do agree and would have experienced the scenario. The significant concern that students struggle during this period is to identify the appropriate UK or the US dissertation topic that has well conceptualized and has a very clear set of aims. This is even more challenging for students from non-English speaking countries such as Brazil, Chinese, Malays, Singaporeans, Indonesia and other Asian countries.
