Debitage Analysis

Eaton is a multicomponent site located in western New York. The major component consists of an Iroquoian village dating to the mid-sixteenth century. There is a high ratio of expedient lithic tools to debitage in the area of the palisade. We explore possible explanations for this distribution and discuss the implications for the construction and maintenance of a palisade.

En novembre et décembre 2014, des interventions géo-archéologiques préventives concernant le Paléolithique moyen ont été réalisées par l’Inrap sur les communes de Pomarez, de Serreslous-et-Arribans et d’Horsarrieu dans les Landes. Les opérations ont consisté en la réalisation de tranchées de 5 mètres de largeur et de longueurs variées, définies selon les indices découvert lors du diagnostic : 40 mètres à Pomarez, 50 mètres à Serreslous-et-Arribans et 140 mètres à Horsarrieu 2.
A Pomarez, quatre artefacts lithiques – trois percuteurs et un galet aménagé - ont été prélevés un horizon sédimentaire au moins antérieur à 65 ka et postérieur à 178 ka, ce qui les situe, entre le début du stade isotopique 6 et le début du stade isotopique 4.
A Serreslous, 31 pièces lithiques ont été prélevées dans un contexte sédimentaire qui entend une possible remobilisation post-dépositionnelle et un tri dimensionnel. Les caractères typo-technologiques marquées de plusieurs de ces artefacts évoquent les industries qualifiées d’Acheuléen pyrénéo-garonnais, sans exclure la possibilité d’un mélange avec des éléments plus tardifs
A Horsarrieu 2, deux nappes archéologiques stratifiées été observées tout au long de la tranchée. Elles ont livré respectivement 352 pièces lithiques pour le niveau supérieur et 594 pièces pour le niveau inférieur sur près de 700 m² décapés au total. Les deux nappes de vestiges ont été observées au sein d’horizons sédimentaires structurés et/ou altérés par les phénomènes périglaciaires et en particulier pour la position moyenne du sommet du niveau inférieur qui semblerait correspondre à un paléosol interglaciaire.
L’assemblage lithique du niveau inférieur, comprenant des matrices bifaciales ou trifaciales sur silex devenant successivement nucléus et macro-outils, présente des affinités avec des industries du Paléolithique ancien du Piémont pyrénéen occidental ou du Pays Basque qui ont déjà livré une composante de matrices complexes débitées et façonnées et un macro-outillage sur galet marqué par la présence de hachereaux ou de bifaces massifs comme à Horsarieu 2.
L’étude géologique souligne la possibilité que l’assemblage lithique ait pu être l’objet de déplacement et d’une redistribution.
L’assemblage lithique du niveau supérieur présente une composition techno-typologique très différente de la série du niveau inférieur avec un développement affirmée de débitage Levallois parfois laminaire et une faible présence de façonnage bifacial. Sans écarter la possibilité d’un mélange de plusieurs ensembles archéologiques, on peut affirmer que l’industrie montre une certaine cohérence dans cette composante laminaire Levallois et traduit des traits technologiques qui la rapprochent d’industries du Paléolithique moyen récent de Dordogne ayant livré également des débitages laminaires plus ou moins apparentés.

La fouille du site des "Hautes Haies" au Mesnil-Esnard, par une équipe de l'Inrap, a conduit à la découverte d'une nappe de vestiges conservée sous la semelle des labours. Elle est constituée, pour l'essentiel, de silex taillés dont la position, primaire ou secondaire, n'a pu être déterminée. De même aucune organisation spatiale de ces vestiges, répartis sur plus de 1 000 m², n'est mise en évidence. L'étude technologique et typologique du mobilier en silex envisage une attribution au Néolithique final/Bronze ancien avec des réserves dues à la nature même du site et vestiges ainsi qu'à la contingence des comparaisons régionales. Elle met également en évidence quelques singularités dans l'outillage qui rapproche la série de quelques autres du nord-ouest de la France et appuie sur la nécessité d'une approche tracéologique pour dépasser les limites de la typologie lesquelles sont particulièrement marquées dans ces séries riches en outils a posteriori. Cette approche microscopique conduirait également à mieux cerner les activités qui ont générées ces outils en silex. À l'heure actuelle et pour des raisons également induites par la nature de l'opération, il n'est pas évident de déterminer la nature de cette occupation. L'outillage en silex est varié comme sur un site domestique, mais pourquoi les autres témoins des activités domestiques sont-ils aussi rares ? Problème taphonomique ? Problème d'organisation spatiale des vestiges ? Ou encore, industrie lithique investi dans une activité spécifique mais requérant quand même un outillage varié ?

D'autres vestiges ont aussi été explorés. Il s'agit de structures en creux dont la datation ne aucunement assurée : fours à sole suspendue, dépôt d'outils de mouture en fosse, fosses silo et foyer. De même, aucune relation avec la nappe de vestiges ne peut être mise en relief. Enfin, quelques structures fossoyées montrent l'existence d'un parcellaire, peut-être en partie réalisé durant La Tène. Son organisation n'est pas perceptible au sein de notre fenêtre d'investigation.

Archaeological remains seem to prove that the
archaeological site of Sarnath was indeed a manufacturing
cum-factory site, even from the age of Mauryas and
continued up to the 12th Century CE. As a proof to this,
remains such as the geographical location of the site
connected with the rivers and intentionally made canals,
scattered raw material in the form of stone blocks and
chips of different sizes, in situ documentation of stone
flakes and chips of different sizes and shapes found
during explorations and excavations, implements and
tools for making art objects recovered from the recent
excavations, patina bearing stone blocks for sharpening
such tools, mason marks and names, have been studied
in detail. Artefacts displayed in the site museum and also
preserved in reserve collection prove that Sarnath was
a place where various sculptures and other art-pieces
for architectural purposes, were shaped.

The majority of the excavations conducted at Keatley Creek have focused on the Late Shuswap Horizon through Early Kamloops Horizion occupations of the site, a period referred to by Hayden as ‘Classic Lillooet’ (ca. 2400 BP to 1100 BP). More recently, researchers have begun to focus on the later occupations of the site, those dating to the ‘Late Kamloops’ and ‘Protohistoric’ period (ca. 400 to 200 BP), which appear to be best represented by features located around the periphery of the village. This report presents details of investigations conducted of one such structure, ‘ST109’, and adjacent features. The excavations took place during the summer of 2006 as part of SFU’s annual archaeological field school.
The primary research goal of the 2006 excavations was to further our understanding of the age, nature and function of the cultural depression (CD) features situated on ‘Terrace I’ at the northern periphery of the Keatley Creek village site. This area was subjected to limited excavation in 1988, 1989, and 1998 during investigations directed by Brian Hayden as part of the Fraser River Investigations into Corporate Group Archaeology Project and subsequent projects. Based on these investigations Hayden has proposed that ST109 and the surrounding area acted as a specialized communal ritual activity area, exhibiting evidence of a ‘prepared floor’, ‘ritual items’, dog remains, and ‘unusual storage facilities’; however, the small sample of artifacts recovered from ST109 and limited extent of excavations previously conducted in this area limited confidence in these interpretations. We hoped that additional excavation would provide data that would strengthen our understanding of the function of ST109 and the surrounding features.

The experimental analysis presented here addresses questions concerning the representativity and integrity of archaeological lithic assemblages, and in particular, the quantities of size categories of items generated by diverse flaking methods, such as those attributed to the Middle Paleolithic.
Are some flaking methods more “expensive” in terms of raw materials and do they generate more waste products and small items? In other words, do the rules and objectives of different methods – laminar or Discoid, for example – have an influence on the quantities and dimensions of artefacts and waste products produced? Should we interpret the proportions of the different size categories (centimetric and millimetric) of the items produced in the same manner?
Using calibrated sieves, our first aim was to quantify – per experimental test, method and raw material – the proportions of size classes of objects resulting from different flaking methods attributed to the Middle Paleolithic, and then to compare their percentages.
The results of our analysis suggest that different flaking methods – hard hammer percussion being a constant in the different tests – can generate specific proportions of size classes, while the raw material (flint, quartz or quartzite) does not play a role in this differentiation. In our experiments, Discoid flaking differs from the other Levallois and laminar flaking conceptions tested in that it generated fewer small pieces (<14 mm). This could be linked to the technical and volumetric rules of Discoid flaking, which involve little preparation and maintenance of the core during its reduction.
El trabajo experimental aquí presentado, es el fruto de las interrogaciones que suscitan la representatividad y la integridad de las producciones líticas arqueológicas en particular sobre las cantidades de las fracciones dimensionales de las lascas y de los deshechos producidos por los diferentes débitages descritos en el Paleolítico medio.
¿Son ciertos débitages más dispendiosos en materia prima y generan más deshechos y esquirlas que otros? ¿Tienen las reglas de la cadena operatoria y los objetivos de las producciones –Laminares o Discoïdes por ejemplo- una incidencia sobre las cantidades y sobre las dimensiones de los artefactos y los deshechos? ¿Debemos interpretar las proporciones de las diferentes categorías dimensionales, centimetricas y milimétricas, de los elementos producidos sobre el mismo registro?
Nuestro objetivo ha sido, en un primer momento, de cuantificar numéricamente, con la ayuda de tamices calibrados, por test experimental, por método y por materia prima, las proporciones de las clases dimensionales de los objetos producidos por los diferentes procesos de débitage descritos en el Paleolitico medio y de compararlas en términos de porcentaje.
Los resultados de nuestro análisis sugieren que, procedimientos y modalidades de débitage diferentes –siendo la técnica de percusión con percutor duro común a la totalidad de los tests- pueden generar proporciones especificas de clases dimensionales de elementos, sin que la materia prima explotada –silex, cuarzo o cuarcita- tenga un rol particular en esta diferenciación
En el cuadro de figura de los tests aquí presentados, las experimentaciones de débitage Discoïde se diferencian de las otras concepciones de producción Levallois y laminares produciendo menos elementos de pequeñas dimensiones (< 14 mm). Esta circunstancia podría ser una consecuencia de las reglas técnicas y volumétricas del débitage Discoïde que necesitan menos preparación de los núcleos durante la explotación.
Le travail expérimental présenté ici fait suite à des questionnements sur la représentativité et l’intégrité des productions lithiques archéologiques et en particulier sur les quantités des fractions dimensionnelles d’éclats et de déchets issues de débitage divers tels que ceux décrits pour le Paléolithique moyen.
Certains débitages sont-ils plus « dispendieux » en matière première et génèrent-ils plus de déchets et de petits éléments ? En d’autres termes, les règles opératoires et objectifs des productions – laminaires ou Discoïde par exemple – n’ont-ils pas une incidence sur les quantités et dimensions des artefacts et des déchets ? Doit-on interpréter les proportions des différentes catégories dimensionnelles, centimétriques et millimétriques, d’éléments produits sur le même registre ?
Notre objectif a été, dans un premier temps, de quantifier numériquement à l’aide de tamis calibrés, par test expérimental, par méthode et par matière première, les proportions des classes dimensionnelles d’objets issus de différents processus de débitage décrits au Paléolithique moyen, et de les comparer en termes de pourcentages.
Les résultats de notre analyse suggèrent que des procédés et modalités de débitage différenciés – la technique de percussion dure étant commune aux différents tests - peuvent générer des proportions spécifiques de classes dimensionnelles d’éléments, la matière première exploitée – silex, quartz ou quartzite - ne jouant pas de rôle particulier dans cette différenciation. Dans les cas de figure présentés ici, les expérimentations de débitage discoïde se différencient des autres conceptions de production Levallois et Laminaire testées, en ce qu’ils génèrent moins de tous petits éléments (< 14 mm), ce qui pourrait être une conséquence des règles techniques et volumétriques du Discoïde qui nécessitent peu de préparation et d'entretien des nucléus pendant leur exploitation.

The recent focus on methods of osseous material transformation in the study of Upper Paleolithic technologies has shown that approaches to these materials vary between phases of the Upper Paleolithic. In the absence of the groove-and-splinter technique of blank extraction first widely documented in the Gravettian, production of ivory, bone, and antler blanks in the Aurignacian relied on processes of splitting and percussive fracture. The technological treatment of bone and antler in Aurignacian contexts has benefitted from renewed attention, but ivory processing and blank-production remains poorly under- stood in spite of the unique place that ivory occupies in many Aurignacian assemblages. In order to clarify the diagnostic features of ivory debitage, a series of experiments was conducted to produce ivory flakes under varying knapping conditions. These diagnostic features are products of the application of force to the complex internal morphology of proboscidean tusks, as explained in this article. Improved criteria for the identification of ivory flakes and manufacturing byproducts in the archaeological record are pre- sented, and are illustrated with examples from two Aurignacian sites well known for ivory processing: Abri Castanet (Dordogne, France) and Hohle Fels Cave (Swabian Jura, Germany). A better understanding of ivory structure and improved identification of the products of ivory debitage in the Aurignacian will aid in the recovery and analysis of ivory artifacts and further efforts to reconstruct technological approaches to this complex material.

The development of an acoustic system for cost-effective mapping of submerged Stone Age sites located on, and embedded in, the sea floor, reported briefly at the 2nd RIO Acoustics Symposium (Grøn et al. 2016), has progressed significantly since then. A number of experiments and survey results now demonstrate that it is possible to obtain clear and significant acoustic responses from flint tools and debitage 1 produced by humans, whereas naturally-cracked pieces of flint of similar shapes and dimensions do not produce equivalent responses. It has also been demonstrated that debitage responds acoustically even when embedded within sea-floor sediments. So far, responses have been obtained from the cultural layers of Stone Age settlements containing large amounts debitage covered by at least one metre of sediment. It is now important to develop the method further, so it is also effective for smaller amounts of debitage from all siliceous materials used by humans to produce debitage, and at maximum depths in the sediment. There should also be no water-depth limitation when operating the system. Since Stone Age sites can be expected to be found down to approximately −140 m below present sea level (the lowest glacial sea level), the system will support the practical implementation of UNESCO's 2001 convention for underwater cultural heritage, which also covers international waters (UNESCO 2001). The existing types of predictive modelling, based on the bathymetry of former exposed and inhabited surfaces, are very imprecise and expensive, taking into account the costs of precise physical mapping of the potential sites by coring etc.

มีบทเรียนอะไรที่เราเรียนรู้ได้บ้าง ในสถานการณ์หนี้สินชาวนา
นับจากอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน
เป็นที่ชัดเจนว่า ปัจจัยเงื่อนไขหลักที่ทำให้ชาวนาไทยเข้าสู่ภาวะหนี้สิน
นับแต่อดีต และถลำลึกจนมาถึงปัจจุบัน คือ ปัจจัยจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงระบบการผลิตแบบดั้งเดิม มาสู่การผลิตเชิงพาณิชย์ ซึ่งเป็นแบบแผนการผลิตที่ถูกออกแบบให้ต้องใช้ต้นทุนการผลิตสูง เมล็ดพันธุ์ราคาแพง ปุ๋ยเคมี ยาฆ่าแมลง ยาฆ่าหญ้า ฮอร์โมนเร่งการเติบโตของพืช กลายเป็นต้นทุนการผลิตที่ชาวนาต้องแบกรับ และเป็นสาเหตุหลักของหนี้สินที่ชาวนากู้ยืมในทุกฤดูการผลิต ดังที่ โสมรัศมิ์ จันทรัตน์ และคณะ (2561) กล่าวไว้ในบทความ “จุลทรรศน์ภาคเกษตรไทยผ่านข้อมูลทะเบียนเกษตรกรและสำมะโนเกษตร” ว่า สัดส่วนหนี้สินต่อรายได้ต่อหัวต่อปีของครัวเรือนเกษตรไทยอยู่ที่ 1.3 เท่าในปี 2560 ซึ่งร้อยละ 69 มาจากภาคเกษตร
ย้อนหลังไปดูอดีต และพิจารณาสภาพปัญหาของเกษตรกรปัจจุบัน เป็นที่น่าสังเกตว่า ในเกือบหนึ่งศตวรรษที่ผ่านมา การทำงานของรัฐที่พยายามส่งเสริมให้ชาวนาเพิ่มการผลิตข้าวเพื่อส่งออก ตั้งแต่สร้างระบบชลประทาน จัดตั้งสถาบันการเงินเพื่อให้สินเชื่อแก่เกษตรกร และมีโครงการนานัปการเพื่อให้เกษตรกรเพิ่มผลผลิต เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการผลิต ในช่วงเวลาที่ผ่านมา แม้ผลผลิตข้าวของเกษตรกรจะเพิ่มขึ้นโดยลำดับ แต่ผลสะท้อนตีกลับจากโครงการส่งเสริมของรัฐในอดีต ได้ชี้ให้เห็นผลในทศวรรษหลัง ๆ ว่า รัฐเองกลับต้องใช้งบประมาณสร้างโครงการช่วยเหลือเกษตรกรด้านต่าง ๆ ทั้งพักหนี้ ย้ายหนี้จากนอกระบบมาเป็นหนี้ในระบบ สร้างแรงจูงใจให้เกษตรกรลดพื้นที่ปลูกข้าว หรือเปลี่ยนไปปลูกพืชชนิดอื่นที่ไม่ใช่ข้าว ดังที่เราทราบกันดี เรื่องนี้เป็นเรื่องสำคัญที่เราต้องสรุปบทเรียน หากเรายังคงทำเหมือนเดิม คือพยายามแก้ปัญหาเก่าให้ลุล่วงไป แต่กลับสร้างปัญหาใหม่ขึ้นมา วงจรหนี้สินชาวนาก็จะไม่มีวันจบ
เสมือนว่าเราพัฒนาภาคเกษตรโดยไร้ทิศทาง เมื่อพัฒนาไปแล้ว ก็ต้องตามแก้ไขปัญหาจากโครงการที่เราเคยพัฒนาไปนั่นเอง กล่าวให้ตรงไปตรงมา แม้จะมีเหตุปัจจัยด้านค่าใช้จ่ายที่สูงขึ้นของครอบครัวเกษตรกรและการวางแผนทางการเงินที่ไม่รอบด้านเป็นเหตุปัจจัยร่วม แต่ผลพวงตรง ๆ ของโครงการส่งเสริมเกษตรเชิงพาณิชย์ของรัฐ ก็คือหนี้สินของเกษตรกรนั่นเอง
การทบทวนอดีต มองหาทางออกที่ยั่งยืนของปัญหาหนี้สิน ด้วยการสนับสนุนให้เกษตรกรปรับรูปแบบการผลิต ไม่ใช่เชิงพาณิชย์แบบเดิม แต่เป็นการผลิตที่ยั่งยืน ลดต้นทุน และสร้างตลาดใหม่ที่เป็นความสัมพันธ์ตรงระหว่างเกษตรกรกับผู้บริโภค โจทย์เหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นความท้าท้าย และเป็นเหตุผลส่วนหนึ่งที่มูลนิธิชีวิตไท ร่วมมือกับอาจารย์และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิหลายท่าน ทั้งจากคณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์, คณะเศรษฐ-ศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์, บริษัท ป่าสาละ จำกัด, วิทยาลัยวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต, ร้านอาหารครัวใบโหนด, โครงการอาหารปันรัก, กลุ่มเกษตรอินทรีย์สนามชัยเขต และนักวิชาการอิสระบางท่าน ในการพัฒนาโครงการพัฒนาชุดความรู้ทางวิชาการและการพัฒนาหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมเกษตรกร เพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาต้นแบบการแก้ไขปัญหาหนี้สินเกษตรกรด้วยระบบการผลิตที่ยั่งยืน

รวมทั้งนโยบายและผลิตภัณฑ์ทางการเงินที่สถาบันการเงินของรัฐออกแบบเพื่อแก้ปัญหาหนี้สินเกษตรกร รวมถึงความเหมาะสมและความสอดคล้องของนโยบาย
งานศึกษาเรื่องที่สอง เป็นงานศึกษาเรื่องตลาดอินทรีย์ การเชื่อมโยงพลังของผู้บริโภคกับเกษตรกรผู้ผลิตแบบอินทรีย์ ศึกษาถึงความสัมพันธ์เชื่อมโยงระหว่างผู้บริโภคกับผู้ผลิตในระบบอาหารปลอดภัย โดยศึกษาเปรียบเทียบ 4 กรณีศึกษา ของร้านค้ากรีน ร้านอาหารสุขภาพ ที่ไม่ได้ต้องการเพียงตอบสนองผู้บริโภคเฉพาะด้านสุขภาพและสิ่งแวดล้อมเท่านั้น แต่มีเป้าหมายที่ต้องการสื่อสารให้ผู้บริโภคเข้าใจถึงปัญหาและผล
กระทบของระบบอาหาร รวมถึงสร้างองค์ความรู้สนับสนุนให้ผู้บริโภคเข้าร่วมเป็นพลังในการเปลี่ยนแปลงสังคมทั้งระดับนโยบายและระดับชุมชน
ส่วนงานด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมเพื่อเสริมสร้างความรู้ให้แก่เกษตรกร โครงการได้พัฒนาหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมเกษตรกรใน 3 เรื่อง
ด้วยกัน เรื่องแรกคือ การบริหารจัดการเงินสำหรับเกษตรกรที่มีหนี้ เรื่องที่สองคือ แนวทางปรับไปสู่การผลิตแบบอินทรีย์ที่มีความยั่งยืน และเรื่องที่สามคือ ตลาดอินทรีย์ ความหวังหลุดพ้นกับดักหนี้ของชาวนา งานศึกษาชุดวิชาการและงานพัฒนาหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมสำหรับเกษตรกรนี้ ดำเนินการในช่วงระหว่างเดือนกรกฎาคม 2562 ถึงเดือนมีนาคม 2563 ในพื้นที่จังหวัดชัยนาท ฉะเชิงเทรา กรุงเทพมหานคร และสงขลา
บทความทั้ง 5 เรื่องในหนังสือเล่มนี้ คือส่วนหนึ่งของรายงานการศึกษาชุดความรู้ทางวิชาการ เอกสารประกอบและรายงานการจัดกระบวน-การเรียนรู้ให้แก่เกษตรกร ข้อมูลจากการศึกษาและการจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ให้แก่เกษตรกรโดยภาพรวมพบว่า ปัญหาหนี้สินของเกษตรกรไม่ได้มีเพียงมิติทางการเงินอย่างเดียว แต่เกี่ยวข้องกับมิติอื่น ๆ ได้แก่ การเปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีการดำเนินชีวิตและวิถีการผลิตในสังคมเกษตร โครงสร้างอายุของเกษตรกร การไม่มีที่ดินทำกิน ความจำกัดของขนาดการถือครองที่ดิน ราคาสินค้าเกษตรที่ไม่แน่นอน และตลาดสินค้าเกษตรที่ถูกเชื่อมกับตลาดโลก รวมไปถึงภัยพิบัติ เช่น น้ำท่วมหรือภัยแล้งที่ทำให้ผลผลิตเสียหาย สูญเสียเงินลงทุนและรายได้
เกษตรกรที่มีหนี้สินอยู่ในสภาวะจิตใจที่ถูกกดดัน ส่งผลต่อความสามารถในการตัดสินใจหรือการมองภาพรวมในปัจจุบันและอนาคต โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง การตัดสินใจแก้ไขปัญหาหนี้สินปัจจุบันในภาวะเร่งด่วน ที่อาจส่งผลต่อการเลือกและการตัดสินใจที่ไม่รอบคอบ เช่น การอยู่ในสถาน-การณ์ที่ถูกกดดันให้ต้องหาเงินมาใช้หนี้ในระบบ เกษตรกรอาจพุ่งไปหาแหล่งเงินกู้นอกระบบ แม้รู้ว่าจะต้องเผชิญกับอัตราดอกเบี้ยที่สูงและไม่เป็นธรรม นโยบายและผลิตภัณฑ์ทางการเงินของรัฐเพื่อช่วยเหลือเกษตรกรจึงต้องถูกออกแบบบนพื้นฐานความเข้าใจในพฤติกรรมการเงินและสภาวะการตัดสินใจของเกษตรกรด้วย (งานศึกษาพฤติกรรมการเงินชาวนาของ ผศ. ดร. ชญานี ชวะโนทย์)
การกลับตัวออกจากวงจรหนี้สินของเกษตรกรทำได้ในหลายระดับ ประการแรกคือการหยุดหนี้สินเดิม ซึ่งอาจจะทำได้ด้วยการเจรจากับเจ้าหนี้ ขอปรับโครงสร้างหนี้กับแหล่งเงินกู้ หรือการตัดใจขายทรัพย์สินและที่ดินบางส่วนเพื่อให้หลุดพ้นจากภาระดอกเบี้ยที่สูงและหนี้ที่ผูกพันยาวนาน ประการที่สองคือการสร้างรายได้ใหม่ที่ต่อเนื่องให้ครอบครัว ลดต้นทุนและรายจ่ายในครอบครัว เพื่อให้มีส่วนต่างของรายได้ที่มากกว่าเดิม ไม่ใช่คาดหวังรายได้ที่มาก แต่มีส่วนต่างจากต้นทุนที่น้อยลง ประการสุดท้ายคือการมีวินัยในการออม โดยวางแผนการใช้เงินแบบแบ่งเป็นส่วน ๆ เพื่อใช้ในปัจจุบันและอนาคต และให้ความสำคัญกับการออมอย่างสม่ำเสมอ

Identifying reduction dynamics in prehistoric retouched stone tools is important for understanding technological trends, as well as site function, raw material management and mobility of nomadic hunter-gatherers. In the absence of refits, the final state of the abandoned piece is the only remain that archaeologists have for the study of lithic reduction. The establishment of experimentally tested indexes providing strong correlations between estimated and real reduction are needed. In our work, we propose a new procedure for estimate reduction percentage. In this proposal, data are obtained from high resolution three-dimensional (3D) scans and manual measurements are avoided. The experimental test has been realized using distally retouched tools, the less suitable tools for reduction studies. The correlation levels obtained between the measured data and the estimated data increase substantially the original published from manual measurement, reaching a r 2 value of 0.81 and a correlation of 0.9. The main contribution of the proposed method is the very high correlation obtained in the volume estimation (r 2 = 0.89 and r = 0.94) using the 3D-based measurements. The 3D models of the unretouched and retouched flakes used in this work are free to use and accessible through an online repository.
