Este artigo tem por objeto de estudo as possibilidades tecnológicas e comunicacionais da tecnologia IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) - a programação de TV através da rede IP (Internet Protocol), fazendo ainteração entre TV, vídeo e Internet. A partir do estabelecimento do problema - visto ser a tecnologiaIPTV convergente e consistente, podendo ampliar o espectro de difusão de audiovisual interativo dealta denição no Brasil - procura-se delimitar qual ou quais seriam os entraves para sua implantação.

IP TV is the short form of Internet protocol television. It’s the technology that allows us to get television services via internet protocol over the computer networks instead of traditional cable TV medium. The multicasting technology is used in IPTV to send one packet that is being originated from one station to multiple stations at a time, is referred as broadcasting of internet version [16]. This paper describes the functionality of IPTV protocol and Multicasting with a short background of its. We also have studied on various compression techniques of audio and video file and format. Our main intention was to observed how various protocols works with IPTV services like Protocol independent module (PIM), Internet group messages protocol (IGMP), and Cisco group management protocol (CGMP) when packets are interchanged with in router, switch, video server and clients. To observe these, a lab work on IPTV has been conducted and the findings have been discussed.

"Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) has gained an enormous growth rate by revolutionizing personal entertainment. High data rates with increased coverage radius of IEEE 802.11n Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) motivate the concept of wireless IPTV. Focusing on wireless IPTV, our work deals with the capacity evaluation of IPTV users over IEEE 802.11n. We first present an upper capacity limit for supporting maximum number of users over IEEE 802.11n. We then propose that 4-times packet size is the optimal frame aggregation size for IPTV which maximizes users capacity and QoS. Moreover, we suggest the use of Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) at transport layer for IPTV. We show that DCCP increases capacity upto 35% for IPTV by reducing packet losses at Access Point (AP), compared to User Datagram Protocol (UDP). We further evaluate fairness of IPTV traffic in the presence of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) traffic in the network. Our study concludes that IPTV using DCCP over IEEE 802.11n not only provides increased user’s capacity but also co-exists fairly with TCP traffic. Transmission of combined IPTV and VoIP over a wireless network is a challenging task. We evaluate capacity of combined IPTV and VoIP over IEEE 802.11n. We then evaluate the use of DCCP at transport layer of IPTV. Our study shows that DCCP(TFRC) can provide 25% additional IPTV users. Our results suggest that performance of DCCP is worst in presence of any other UDP flow because of congestion-less mechanism of UDP. Our fairness analysis with TCP traffic shows that IPTV and VoIP using TFRC provide fair share in bandwidth to TCP with 19% increase in combined capacity. We evaluate optimal parameters of IEEE 802.11n AP for running IPTV and VoIP. We show the optimal values and trends of AP parameters including queue size, transmission opportunity, aggregation and block acknowledgement etc. Our study shows that nearly 9 more VoIP users are supported with a queue size of 70 packets and transmission opportunity of 9. Our study concludes that selection of DCCP and optimized parameters over IEEE 802.11n can enhance capacity of IPTV and VoIP by at-least 19% than use of UDP."

Today, significant developments are taking place in the field of communication. IPTV, which consists of a combination of internet and television, is the most important of these developments. IPTV is very different from the traditional concept of television. Because this system is using broadband internet network for providing services to subscribers. All applications of IPTV are fully interactive and individual. Users will be able to choose the broadcasting content as they want. As well as, they will be able to buy their preferred program with Video on demand (VoD) application. IPTV technology makes possible to send voice, video and data services at the same time with Triple Play service. Advertising industry will gain a different dimension thanks to IPTV. Users will be able to get advertisements through addressable advertising as they want. Countries are making major investments to IPTV due to the commercial size. In addition to all this, IPTV services are required to take strict security measures. Otherwise, users may be subject of hacker attacks and personal information can be taken without permission. As a result of these progressions, in the future IPTV technology will provide great benefits to humanity. Despite all of this studies, IPTV is not seen desired level in the world. IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) geniş bant üzerinden IP kullanılarak yapılan televizyon yayınlarının son kullanıcıya ulaşmasını sağlayan ve izleyici televizyon etkileşimini artıran yayın teknolojisidir. Son yıllarda adını sıkça duyduğumuz IPTV internet teknolojilerindeki gelişmelerin yayıncılık alanına yansımasıdır.
Türkiye’de analog yayıncılıktan sayısal yayıncılığa geçiş sürecinde TV izleyicisinin yayınlara olan etkileşimi de artmıştır. İnternetin 2000’li yıllarda kitle iletişim araçlarında kullanımın artmasıyla TV yayıncılığının da şekli değiştirmiştir. IPTV beraberinde kullanıcılarına birçok hizmet ve uygulama sunmuştur. Video on demand (isteğe bağlı video), kişisel video kaydı, elektronik program rehberi, görüntülü konuşma, uzaktan eğitimi sosyal TV… gibi bir çok hizmet ve uygulama televizyon izleyicisinin alışkanlıklarını değiştirmiştir. Sosyal TV ile televizyonumuzdan sosyal ağlara bağlanarak TV izleyicisinin televizyonla olan etkileşimi son derece artmış ve TV’lerimiz sosyal birer ağa dönüşmüştür.
Bütün bunlara ek olarak bu tez çalışmasında sektörün ileri gelenleri ve akademisyenlerle yapılan derinlemesine mülakat ile Türkiye'de IPTV'nin mevcut durumu, IPTV ve sosyal TV arasındaki farklar, internet TV üzerinden yapılan ticaret, internet TV ve TV arasındaki ilişki ve TV yayıncılığının ve sosyal TV'nin geleceği gibi başlıklar incelenmiştir.

Pada awal tahun 2015, Telkom meluncurkan IndiHome, layanan fixed broadband berbasis fiber optik dengan konsep triple play yang terdiri dari telepon rumah, internet berkecepatan tinggi, dan IPTV. Target Line in Service (LIS) IndiHome pada tahun 2018 telah ditetapkan sebesar 5,2 juta pelanggan. Kelangkaan stok perangkat ONT untuk merek tertentu berdampak pada terhambatnya pemenuhan target sales IndiHome di beberapa Witel (Wilayah Telekomunikasi) Telkom. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut perlu diadakan inisiasi proyek pengadaan open ONT (Optical Network Termination) dari platform teknologi OLT (Optical Line Termination) eksisting (Huawei, ZTE, FiberHome, dan Nokia) yang memenuhi persyaratan teknis open OLT-ONT.

This paper discusses a concept of predicting interactions between measurable (technical) parameters of telecommunications network – QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience) of the video under realistic triple play network conditions using IPTV (Internet Protocol TV). Here is represented a simulation method using OPNET as simulation tool that includes a complete scenario of IPTV channels distributio in the hypothetical IP / MPLS network. Based on simulation results of the QoS parameters in the network and using of certain well-known regression analysis of QoS/QoE correlation model it is possible to evaluate the quality of the received video perceived by the user. It performs the mapping between quality assessment VQR (Video Quality Ratings), VQM (Video Quality Metric) and DMOS (Difference Mean Opinion Score) subjective rating scales. In that way it performs validation of IPTV service in terms of comparing the original video and the received video by the end user. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the possibility of video quality validation under laboratory conditions using simulation method.

With the proliferation of video streaming services, now internet TV has become a popular service on the Internet. Catch-up TV is an attractive service in internet TV, where a user who misses a live programme can watch it later. Meanwhile, not all streaming protocols, by default, are able to support catch-up TV application. This paper explains how to develop catch-up TV application in RTSP/RTMP streaming protocol, by doing shell-script programming and using Wowza streaming engine, on a Linux-based streaming server. The research result has been implemented in UseeTV, one of the largest commercial internet TV service in Indonesia.

Deployment Video on Demand (VoD) over the next generation (WiMAX) has become one of the intense interest subjects in the research these days, and is expected to be the main revenue generators in the near future and the efficiency of video streaming over next generation 4G is the key to enabling this. We are considering video streaming for real time video was coded by different H.264.x codes (H.264/AVC, and SVC), and we consider an IP-Unicast to deliver this streaming video over WiMAX. Our approach investigates the performance evaluation of IPTV (VoD) over WiMAX networks. OPNET is used to investigate the performance of VoD over WiMAX. Results obtained from simulation indicate that SVC video codec is an appropriate video codec for video streaming over WiMAX.

It will be shown that this is a model which seeks to adapt to the demand, increasingly diverse, of the spectator-user, but which is still under construction.

Teknologi penyiaran dalam sebuah perusahaan telekomunikasi berbasis layanan televisi (TV) terus berkembang dari waktu ke waktu seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK). Perubahan ini dapat dilihat pada layanan TV analog yang berkembang ke TV digital, kemudian berkembang juga ke arah layanan TV berbasis internet protocol. Saat ini teknologi Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) juga sudah makin diperkenalkan sebagai salah satu pilihan yang menarik, baik bagi pengguna (user/costumer) dan pelaku industri (businessman). Menarik bagi user antara lain karena teknologi IPTV mampu menyediakan layanan multimedia TV yang lebih interaktif sehingga user dapat berkomunikasi timbal-balik secara real time melalui pesawat televisi standar setelah terhubung dengan sebuah penyedia content. Pilihan content ini pun dapat dilakukan sesuai kesukaan tanpa batas waktu. Sementara bagi pengusaha, hal ini dapat menjadi suatu lahan baru untuk mengembangkan bisnis telekomunikasi guna meningkatkan pendapatan (revenue) dan pertambahan nilai bisnis (business value added) pada sebuah perusahaan.
Di sejumlah negara maju, teknologi IPTV sudah diterapkan sebagai suatu layanan bisnis telekomunikasi yang dapat memberikan kepuasan bagi user/costumer dan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan perusahaan. Sementara di Indonesia belum begitu populer dan berkembang dengan baik. Sebab IPTV berhadapan tantangan antara lain ketidakmampuan sumber daya, pengetahuan masyarakat yang terbatas, layanan internet yang belum maksimal, dan permasalahan lainnya. Penelitian ini untuk membahas analisa kelayakan perencanaan penerapan teknologi IPTV untuk meningkatkan nilai bisnis perusahaan, dengan studi kasus pada PT.First Media Tbk, menggunakan teori pemodelan Porter’s 5 Forces.

— The main issue in Digital Terrestrial Television and in IPTV networks is the Quality of Experience received by the end users. For this reason, mechanisms to automatically measure the video quality of the images received by the user are needed. In this paper, we analyze video quantization in order to determine an optimal quantizer_scale factor value for its transmission. Then, it is used as an automatic measure to improve the video quality received by the end user. The paper shows the measurements taken for Objective and subjective Video Quality, Video Quality Metric and the bandwidth consumed for several types of video quality. We use the jitter, delay and lost packets measurements in order to take the appropriate quantizer. Finally, we show the visual comparison between a high quantizer_scale factor and a reference video. ÖZET Küresel rekabet çagında hızlı teknolojik degisimler, verimlilik artısını ve iletisimin etkisini ön plana çıkarıp ekonominin felsefesini degistirmistir.. Yeni ekonomi iletisim aglarının gelisiminde etkili olan teknolojileri de içerdiginden " dijital ekonomi " diye de adlandırılır. Dijital ekonomi, insanların bilgiye ulasmasını kolaylastırırken sirketlerin ve içerik saglayıcıların bireylere ulasmasını da kolay hale getirmistir. Dijitallesmenin en önemli örneklerinden biri de IPTV fenomenidir. IPTV geleneksel TV hizmetlerinden farklı olarak IP sebekesi üzerinden kalitesi yüksek, etkilesimi ön plana çıkaran ve kullanıcı merkezli içerik servislerinin sunuldugu bir hizmettir. Özellikle dünya da reklamcılıkla öne çıkan bu teknoloji Türkiye de yeni kabul görmekte ve ileride tv yayın ve hizmetlerini kökten degistirmesi beklenmektedir. ABSTRACT Rapid technological changes in the age of global competition, have changed the philosophy of economics by taking the productivity growth and the effect of communication to the front. The new economics is named as digital economics since it includes the technologies that are effective on the development of communication network. The digital economy eases people's access to the information and it also facilitates the access of companies and of content providers to the individuals.One of the most important examples of digitalization is IPTV phenomenon. Unlike traditional TV services, IPTV is a service which provides high quality, user based content services with communication on the front. This technology which is recognized especially in the advertising world, has been recently started to be known in Turkey and is expected to change the future of TV broadcasing and services radically. In this study, the applications of IPTV , which is one of the broadband technologies ,that are relevant to advertising services are mentioned and the economical synergy which is created by ad types based on users' preferences is highlighted. Given the latest developments, the IPTV applications will continue to develop in the coming years together with the individualization of TV and will be recognized significantly in our lives.

Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) is gaining recognition as a successful alternative for delivery of the video by telecommunication and cable companies. IPTV features bandwidth efficiencies and management; therefore, it is ideally suited for broadcast and multimedia services. IPTV offers the ability to stream the media in smaller batches, directly from the source. There are a number of basic problems that afflict video streaming; it provides no guarantees on bandwidth, delay jitter, or loss rate.
Therefore, a key goal of video streaming is to design a system to reliably deliver high-quality video over the internet and to accommodate different devices that had made complicated for the streaming workflow. In this project by ―Implementing Software IPTV with WOWZA Server‖ we simplify the process with one server and one transcoder.
To deliver streams to different players, browsers and devices we traditionally need separate encoders and servers which can take pretty big capital investment. And for live video which mean greater bandwidth and for a video which mean more file storage devices need more bit rate in codec and need more no of transcoder.
Wowza Media Server is robust, customizable, and scalable server software that powers reliable streaming of high-quality video and audio to any device, anywhere. Wowza Media server accepts any video format and reliably delivers it in multiple formats and with the highest possible quality. Wowza Media server software integrates with third-party systems. We need a software or hardware encoder to push one HD stream to Wowza stream engine.
We use a software encoder Wirecast, is a live video streaming product, works like a video switcher, controlling real-time switching between multiple live video cameras, while dynamically mixing in other source media to create professional broadcast productions on web.
In this project, we combined the Wowza media server with software transcoder Wirecast, and we have provided a new approach to video encoding that streamlines the workflows for multiple screen delivery using standard video. And explained by developing a website sunitv.in, how the combined solution is changing the conventional paradigm by creating an operationally efficient, cost-effective, and unified multiple screen encoding and streaming model.
Use any software or hardware encoder to push one HD stream to Wowza stream engine. The Wirecast transcoder creates a different quality of video and into different steaming formats.
In addition, we developed a security for a website sunitv.in by providing a username and password to the content that will be protected and confidence that the streaming will be success.

Storage networking technology has enjoyed strong growth in recent years, but security concerns and threats facing networked data have grown equally fast. Today, there are many potential threats that are targeted at storage networks, including data modification, destruction and theft, DoS attacks, malware, hardware theft and unauthorized access, among others. In order for a Storage Area Network (SAN) to be secure, each of these threats must be individually addressed. In this paper, we present a comparative study by implementing different security methods in IP Storage network.

Present IPTV system fails to establish QoS due to packet loss, server congestion and  limited bandwidth. To overcome  these drawbacks an implementation of IPTV is presented here using MPLS in 3GPP LTE release 8 networks. This implementation will  provide  multicast  capability  and  FEC  along  with retransmission  to minimize  packet  loss.  Deploying  IPTV  in LTE  makes  LTE  capable  of  transmitting  voice,  data  and audio/video which will ensure convergence.
