The aim of this study is to analyze possibilities and limitations of the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) approach to foster international collaboration between higher education institutions (HEIs) so as to boost their internationalization process. With that aim, a documental meta-analysis of twenty-three case studies carried out in 2012 by the Global Center of the State University of New York (SUNY) were reviewed and discussed in terms of the potential of COIL to foster the development of global learning, social capital, and international academic collaboration between international HEIs. Results of the analysis suggest that COIL is an approach that can promote online academic mobility and international collaboration as well as enhance intercultural competence when combined with the Intercomprehension Approach (IA)  to enable the use of different foreign languages.

La problemática de la investigación consiste en establecer la necesidad de evitar errores jurisdiccionales, así como la existencia de riesgos al momento del decreto de una medida privativa, mediante la implementación de una inteligencia artificial como herramienta que permita no solo evitarlos, sino que a su vez reduzca los peligros y riesgos por un indebido decreto u omisión. Esto debido a la existencia de dos errores de tipo dentro de esta clase de medidas. Por una parte, los presentes en dictar una medida de bajo riesgo, y otra donde no se dicta una medida de alto riesgo. Por lo tanto, la pregunta problema a responder es: ¿permite el modelo evaluativo de predicción de riesgos de inteligencia artificial, evitar errores jurisdiccionales y esquemas de peligro en el decreto de medidas cautelares dentro de un proceso judicial? cuyo objetivo general es analizar la procedencia de la inteligencia artificial y su modelo evaluativo de predicción de riesgos, dentro del decreto de
medidas privativas de la libertad en el proceso judicial colombiano, que se desarrolla mediante el empleo de una metodología básica jurídica, descriptiva, explicativa y hermenéutica. Esto permitió, dentro de la ejecución del proyecto, entablar como resultados que la inteligencia artificial, por su naturaleza, es una herramienta que
permite configurar algoritmos que resuelvan las diversas variantes que implica el dictar una medida privativa de la libertad. De tal modo que dentro del sistema jurídico colombiano ya se encuentra en operatividad un sistema que efectúa dichos análisis con inteligencia artificial y efectiviza las reglas procesales como un esquema
lingüístico.

Intelligence artificielle, algorithme, robot semblent constituer les derniers avatars d’une longue histoire des rapports entre art et technologie. Sans réécrire cette histoire, nous allons nous attarder sur ce qui renouvelle la rencontre entre l’art et l’IA, au plan technologique mais également esthétique et économique. Nous prendrons comme terrain de réflexion une controverse née autour d’une œuvre vendue aux enchères en octobre 2018 et créée à partir d’un modèle d’apprentissage machine dont s’est emparé un collectif d’entrepreneurs-créateurs français. Si certains analystes, artistes ou critiques, de cette controverse entre art et IA s’en tiennent à une lecture esthétique ou en dévoilent les ressorts financiers et les biais sociaux, trop peu ont développé l’argument d’une écologie de la création dans un monde fini.

We introduce the special issue on Evolutionary Computation (EC) reporting a non-exhaustive list of topics which have recently attracted much interest from the EC community, with particular regard to the ones dealt with by the papers included in this issue: EC research, hybrid neuro-evolutionary systems and synergies between EC and complex systems. In addition, we introduce a more technological emerging topic: the parallel implementation of evolutionary and Swarm Intelligence algorithms on graphics processor units (GPUs), by which new applications of evolutionary algorithms have been made possible, even in real-time environments.

Any dictionary definition suggests that learning involves the acquisition of knowledge or behaviour. Chris Thornton, in a thought provoking essay suggests that learning tasks must be presented in the form of example association pairs (Thornton 2000). Consequently, he defines all learning tasks in terms of mapping. A learner agent can always read this mapping in two ways: as saying what actions should be produced in a given situation or as predicting which actions should be produced in a given situation. The idea of prediction comes from the fact that a task will be considered to have been successfully learned if we are able to produce correct associations for test items in the majority of cases. Prediction tasks are usually named supervised learning tasks, on the grounds that the examples are like information given to the learner by a teacher or supervisor. The thing that is learned is generally termed the target function, and the inputs and associated outputs are treated as the arguments and values (respectively) of an unknown function. Concept learning problems have the same form, except that target outputs are either "yes" or "no"(or "true"=1 and "false"=0). The learning is then conceptualised along computational lines. CLUSTERING AND CLASSIFICATION Learning and classification are seen as procedures for knowledge acquisition. A classification problem is just like the concept learning problem except for the fact that we now have a number of output targets that are the labels of classes. The cases illustrate what sort of object belongs in which class.

In this work we design a benchmark generator for the reactive scheduling problem. This problem consists in monitoring the execution of a schedule and repairing it every time it is deemed necessary. The main motivations behind this work grow out either from the recognized lack (hence the necessity) of benchmark sets for this specific problem as well as from the fact that the resolution of a scheduling problem consists both in the synthesis of an initial solution ("static" or "predictive" scheduling) and in the utilization of a number of methodologies dedicated to the continuous preservation of solution consistency (and quality). In fact, the occurrence of exogenous events during the execution phase in real working environments, often compromises the schedule's original characteristics.

The Central aspect of outcome based education (OBE) is basically the assessment of the outcomes of the courses. When the question arises about the implementation of OBE at its initial stage the course outcomes for every course are based on the program outcomes (POs) and its requirements. At the completion of every course the course outcomes (Cos) requires to be evaluated and assessment is required using any tool such as examination, quiz, presentation, MCQ etc. to verify and check that it is being attained or GAP analysis is identified. In this paper the assessment was done for management programs for post-graduation with the strength of 240 students. This paper uses data that has been procured from students attained marks in practical, theory, presentation, quiz, assignments and MCQ for transforming them into professional persons which can be acumen in the societies. To expedite this analytical process the method of computerized system using excel sheets has been introduced. The findings of this research are then used for the minimizing the GAPs and improve the continuous quality of the students.

In this paper, it is described that a machine will identify the region of my country, other country and display on LCD. And it takes appropriate action according to valid region. Also, this system check the id for valid person and take an appropriate action for invalid persons such as operate the laser shooter that identifies the suspected person and display all conditions in LCD at border. This system checks the force member id wirelessly.

Object layout in a large 3D-scene or in a complex virtual environment is a time-consuming and tedious task. In order to assist the user in this task, we present a general-purposed constraint-based system. The underlying constraint solver is built on a genetic algorithm. It is able to process a complex set of constraints, including geometric and pseudo-physics ones. Moreover, universal quantifiers and Boolean combination of constraints are allowed to make the layout description easier. Finally, to get realistic scenes, objects can take any orientations, not only isothetic ones.

The specification of interaction and of the related forms of reasoning is crucial in the research area of multi-agent systems and in many application areas. This article summarizes the activities and the achievements obtained by the authors in the last years. Two are the main research lines, respectively leading to the proposal of a mentalistic approach to the specification of agent interaction policies, based on the class of grammar logics, and the proposal of a constraint-based representation of regulative and declarative patterns of interaction inside commitment-based protocols.

This paper presents a distributed virtual reality environment for children. This virtual environment supports cooperation among members of a dispersed team engaged in a concurrent context. The virtual environment maintains a shared information space described in a standard Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) format. Users are allowed to interact and to give decisions using cooperative mechanisms. A user-friendly interface enables teachers to create their own stories that fit with children pedagogical requirements and generates new virtual environments according to teacher's specifications. Context: Improving access and delivery of health care is a very actual topic in many countries. In order to meet the challenges posed by growing medical costs, aging population and limited resources, new technologies and new methods are urgently needed.

The need to guarantee digital archive interoperability has driven the standardization of resources forward. The tendency to make searchable on-line databases has stopped at data accessibility, often presented as a synthesis of the interpretation procedure. During data computerization, the creation of the database requires the selection of a model whose representation is left out of the encoding process. Formalising this knowledge would be helpful in reconstructing a real, semantic interoperability, especially in those areas such as iconographic analysis, where the connections between the formal representation schema used and the description of the archaeological data is greater. This contribution is based on techniques of sharing knowledge through conceptual representational models, such as ontologies.
