Abstract. In this article, the development of software for SI2000 digital switch node is described, focusing on software architecture for a MGCP protocol stack. A decoder and an encoder for the MGCP protocol have been developed with the PCCTS tool version 1.33, which supports generation of top-down ÄÄ parsers in C and C++ programming language. Software planning phase is a very important and time-consuming task, but it is also important to investigate how to implement requested functionality and guarantee proper scalability. To meet the scalability requirements, we had to extend the PCCTS tool with the support for parallel execution of more than one decoder and encoder. Telecommunication management applications also have to support decoding and encoding of MGCP messages. To enable such support for these kinds of applications, we developed an OCX control for the MGCP protocol.

This paper aims to build a theoretical support in intermediality studies to a doc-poetry creation on the poem If by Rudyard Kipling. Despite of being short, If is a poem that offers multiple interpretations because it suggests cycles and growth, it stimulates the creation of images. This poem selection went through our perception of the central presence of the embodiment, and therefore it is quite translatable into body and image to create a new media. Its interpretation by the language of doc-poetry becomes a mean of establishing new creative ways of interpreting the poem. As a transcreation process, the choreography's composition procedures have considered the original's poem structure, and also the body's perception. The creative ability of source text transformation into a different media can expand its interpretative possibilities. In this case, cinema, dance/body and poetry were used as media for creating a new artistic expression, which we not permanently term doc-poetry. The choreographic body and a mix of technicalities reveal a potentiality to express beyond the speeches. When crossing theory and practice it is possible to think and test the body in other media and also as a new media itself. Therefore, working the body and the film as artistic and interpretative possibilities of written text is a way of seeing new potentials when reading. Therefore, the research challenge was to work the poem If by the bias of embodiment, where the choreography turns theory, the body, a new media, while dance and cinema, a way of reading poetry.

This paper argues that the English interrogative complementizer if , traditionally taken to be atomic, is actually bimorphemic, with f- a wh-morpheme, and i- the default finite stem-allomorph of BE, also present in ‘is’. Similar to the German complementizer dass, composed of two separate syntactic heads, d- and -ass (Leu, 2015), where d- competes with the finite verb movement to the V2 position, English if is composed of i- (marked [+finite]), and –f ([+wh]) being heads in the CP domain (akin to Rizzi’s (1997) Fin and Force). Thus, the bimorphemic structure of if partly explains its two special properties: its restriction to finite clauses and its seemingly introducing embedded interrogatives without a wh-morpheme. According to my analysis, the former is correlated with the form of the complementizer and the latter just disappears. Data from the bimorphemic complementizers structure in Slavic languages (Czech and Russian) supports this analysis.

The following semantics for counterfactuals is fairly standard: for a counterfactual to be true, the closest antecedent worlds have to be consequent worlds. Closeness is measured by overall similarity of worlds to an evaluation world. There is a range of interrelated challenges to this account: counterfactual scepticism, ‘Hegel’-, ‘Sobel’-, and ‘Heim’-sequences. So far there is no unified solution to these challenges. I discuss a solution that preserves the standard semantics by writing the shifty parameter into pragmatics. The solution has been suggested by Križ for Sobel- and Heim-sequences, yet I argue that it can be generalized to counterfactual scepticism. Conditionals are subject to a pattern which is familiar from descriptions. Everyday counterfactuals are semantically homogeneous and pragmatically non-maximal. Homogeneity: a counterfactual is neither true nor false if only some but not all closest antecedent worlds are consequent worlds. Non-maximality: in many contexts, not...
