Abstrakt Současná společnost doznává rapidních a v mnoha ohledech radikálních změn. V oblasti sociologie byly definovány nové generace, ve filozofii zase současné fáze postmoderní společnosti. Jedná se o "tekutou modernitu", definovanou Z. Baumanem a U. Ecem. Průmyslový design přebírá podobné rysy. Evidentní je proměna z klasických parametrů a zásad "dobrého designu", popsaných D. Ramsem, do "tekutého" stavu. Díky srovnání filozofických pojmů s pojmy v oblasti designu můžeme nazvat postmoderní design "tekutým". Mění se postavení designu? Jedná se o postmodernu, nebo novou (tekoucí) modernitu? Abstract Contemporary society acknowledges rapid as well as drastic changes. New generations are defined in the field of sociology, philosophy has added a definition of the current phase of postmodern society. This is "liquid modernity" as defined by Z. Bauman and U. Eco. Industrial design takes on similar features. Its transformation from the classic parameters and principles of "good design" (as defined by D. Rams) into a "liquid" state is evident. A comparison of philosophical concepts with concepts in the field of design allows it to define postmodern design as "liquid". Are the design positions changing? Is this postmodern or new (liquid) modernity? 1. "Modernost" má přes sto let Začneme-li uvažovat o současnosti jako době moderní, nevyhneme se pojmům "modernost" či "modernita". Ke zmatení dochází v okamžiku, kdy zjistíme, že "doba moderní" trvá více než sto let, ne-li déle. Zakladatelem moderní architektury (i designu) je Otto Wagner, který tvořil na konci XIX. století a jehož kniha Moderne Architektur (Moderní architektura, česky 1910) [19] dává teoretické základy moderního pojetí architektury. Stavba Poštovní spořitelny (Wiener Postsparkasse, Georg-Coch-Platz, Vídeň I, 1904-1912) je rozhodně jedním z prvních počinů moderní architektury s designérským pojetím detailů interiéru, byť je spíše zařazována do pozdní secese. [18] Následuje "moderna" funkcionalistická, především v oblasti designu zastoupená školou Bauhaus (zal. 1919)-osobnostmi jako Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier apod. Poválečné období zastupují autoři prosazující "modernu", jako např. Dieter Rams, který pracoval pro firmu Braun a dal jí svébytný "minimalistický" moderní styl. Pak bychom mohli, zjednodušeně řečeno, pokračovat post-modernou 80. let XX. století (např. skupina Memphis zakladatele Ettore Sotssase) a neo-modernou konce století (Zada Hadid). Design a architektura se po celou dobu pohybovaly ve stejných myšlenkových modelech-současnost je prostě moderní. Historické názvosloví nám však přináší zmatek-moderna byla před sto lety a před lety padesáti… Co je současnost?

of Appadurai's " Modernity at Large " The prevalent argument in Appadurai's book is that there is a link between collective imagination and post-national identity. Globalization marked a break with the past-with the rise of capitalism-that is identified with the modern not only economically but also culturally and politically. Modernity's major diacritics are the mass-media and migration which form and force a collective imagination while threaten nation-states with national identity's destabilization. Through the extended migration and the massive consumption of electronic and printed media, imagination constitutes the link between the modern and the global presenting them as the same while influence modern subjects to incorporate the global into their quotidian practices. Cultural globalization and post-nationalism originating from the mass movement of people and images consist the face of modernity beyond the nation-state. Nationalism is linked with violence and is considered as a primordium form of politics that approaches its end. Moreover, the power of the media affects differently distinct habituses leading to a global culture characterized by homogeneous people full of differences. In an understanding of the global culture Appadurai draws the idea of five different –though interconnected-scapes describing them as the contemporary imagined worlds where the post-national subject lives in. Furthermore, what is indicated in the book Modernity at Large is that modern nation-state's attempt to (re)produce feelings of locality-through 'national' sports or the census of the population and land for administrative purposes-are disguised methods stemming from power colonial relations that aim to retain control over the population and against transnational movements. The 'Indianess' of the British cricket and the enumeration of people are two examples of colonial rules having as their ulterior plan an effective social control. Overall, Appadurai presents imagination as a social force of action in contemporary world and nascence of the production of alternative forms of identities beyond the nation-state. The

While reality television is certainly not a new genre of programming, nor is the idea of youth spending time with media an Earth-shattering concept, these two ideas have not been explored in an in-depth way in the same study. This study sets out to change that. While research by Jennifer Pozner (2010) illustrates that reality television is full of disparaging imagery and writings by Shirley Steinberg (2011) explicate the ways in which young people are shaped by the world around them, few studies have looked to examine this potential relationship between young people and reality television.
This critical qualitative case study sets out to change that by examining the question: How is reality television affecting the self-identity of young people and the ways in which they view others? The purpose of this study was to dig beneath the surface of how young people feel about the reality television shows that they watch daily and the ways in which their viewing habits and shows of choice may be affecting them. The participants in this study were seven pre-teens and teenagers, aged 12 to 14 who were in 8th grade at the same junior high. The study took place over the course of one month and was comprised of four focus groups, followed by individual semi-structured interviews with each respondent. The dialogue produced was examined using Zygmunt Bauman’s theory of liquid modernity, and was underscored by the need for critical media literacy for young people.
The findings of this study indicate that reality television is far more than just entertainment in the lives of young people. Discussion and analysis showed that some young viewers have an emerging critical consciousness when it comes to recognizing and questioning stereotyped imagery in reality television shows. The study also found that reality television does play an influencing role in the lives of young people, although the level of influence differs based on the viewer. Additionally, the concept of what is real life anymore has become skewed, due in part to these shows, with “real reality” being deemed as boring and with Bauman’s notion of disposability alive and well in the lives of these young people. These four themes emerged throughout the work and came to life when examining the robust discussions that were had around this topic.
The results of this study suggest that there is much more work to be done in the field of reality television and young people. As educators, critical media literacy needs to be incorporated into both the formal and informal curriculum, as a means to arm young people with the tools necessary to counteract and question common hegemonic devices. Additionally, educators and parents alike need to be aware of the complex relationship that exists between reality television and young viewers and the characteristics of viewers that may play a role in the degree to which reality television affects their lives. More than this, educators need to develop a greater understanding of the characteristics of liquid modernity - namely, a lack of private spaces and a pervasive culture of disposability – so that they may better make sense of the ways in which reality television is affecting young people.

Theda Skocpol once wrote that it is only the " truly blessed " among sociologists who can publish their reading notes as books (Skocpol 1978, p. 415). Among the truly blessed we might include the Zygmunt Bauman of Culture in a Liquid Modern World. This book comprises a collection of impressionistic sketches—and I do not mean this pejoratively—of the present status and permeations of a concept central to theory and the discipline at large. In contrast to Skocpol's target, Bauman acknowledges the preliminary character of his work, the first chapter of which is titled " Some Notes on the Historical Peregrinations of the Concept of Culture. " But this acknowledgment renders the book difficult to evaluate, as does the fact that the genre of theory Bauman produces is received so differently on opposite sides of the Atlantic, and again across the Pacific. The opening chapter of Culture in a Liquid Modern World locates the concept of culture historically, tracing its emergence in France as the yardstick of civi-lization—something around which real and symbolic missions were organized, domestically and abroad. Culture here included both cultural productions— painting, sculpture, literature—and the ways of thinking, feeling, and being that were associated with emerging national identities. Of course these spheres of culture were not discrete social phenomena—the two were entangled with one another and essential to the formation of modern national states, and so to the justification of colonial rule. But over time these spheres tended in different directions, with cultural producers asserting independence from the national projects, eventually founding a (somewhat) autonomous sphere of artistic striving. Having noted its establishment, Bauman traces how this sphere gradually cedes independence to the spell of market forces. Indeed, by the final chapter, " Culture Between State and Market, " we see the apogee of this process, such that cultural production moves not to its own rhythms but to those of fashion, at which point Bauman ponders whether art as such can survive its fate.

Es mediante la apelación a algunos críticos relevantes de la modernidad –Freud, Simmel, Adorno, Horkheimer, Shestov, Müller-Hill, Kafka, etc.– que Bauman se esfuerza por construir una auténtica ontología de la modernidad, así como una fenomenología crítica de sus implicaciones culturales, morales y políticas, y de sus límites –perfilados por la presencia infranqueable de la ambivalencia–, con las que su texto adquiere el rango de una aportación señera a esta misma tradición moderna de la sospecha. Bauman, apoyado en autores como Horkheimer y Adorno, quienes realizan una crítica demoledora de la Ilustración y dejan entrever un influjo de desconfianza y pesimismo sobre buena parte de la literatura filosófica europea de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Es Horkheimer, uno de los miembros fundadores de la Escuela de Frankfurt, quien desarrolla la “teoría critica”, a partir del predominio de una racionalidad procedimental a partir de la cual el conocimiento humano no opera según presupuestos jerárquicos-metafísicos (teoría tradicional) sino pragmático-procedimentales (teoría crítica) al interior de las comunidades científicas y de los contextos socio-culturales del mundo. Esto significa que todo modo de conocer es interesado y, que sólo conocemos por el interés. Con lo que sienta las bases de la Ecuela de la Sospecha. De allí que Bauman en Modernidad y ambivalencia4 pretendiera, como bien lo apunta Wellmer, complementar la tarea emprendida por los pensadores más destacados de la primera generación de la Escuela de Frankfurt. Bauman “intenta envolver con carne histórica y sociológica el esqueleto de la Dialéctica de la Ilustración”. Lo que dota a Bauman de una particular originalidad a la vez que de una filiciación a tradiciones filosóficas reconocibles y contrapuestas: “por un lado, la que originándose en Schopenhauer, pasa por Nietzsche para acabar alcanzando a Klages y, por otro, la que desde Hegel, pasando por Marx y Weber, arriba hasta el joven Lukács”.

20. ve 21. yüzyılın en önemli sosyal teorisyenlerinden biri olan Zygmunt Bauman'ın 'Akışkan Modernite' kuramı pek çok alana konu olmuştur. Bauman, bireylerin yaşamış oldukları korkularla birlikte günümüzde belirsizlik ve güvensizlik ortamının akışkan moderniteyi doğurduğunu vurgulamıştır. Akışkan modernite kuramsallaştırmasından önce, modernizmin sert bir eleştirisini yapan Bauman, aslında modernizm ile iktidarların şiddeti yönettiğini ve öteki olarak görülen bireylere her alanda şiddet uygulandığını çalışmalarında dile getirmiştir. Postmodern dönem her ne kadar modernizmde yaşanan totalitarizmden kurtuluş gibi görünse de Bauman, postmodern dönemin de modernizmden çok farklı olmadığını hatta bireylerin yaşamını daha da belirsiz hale getirdiğini düşünmüştür. Abstract Zygmunt Bauman, one of the most important social theorists of the 20th and 21st century, Liquid Modernity theory has been the subject of many areas. Bauman emphasized that the environment of uncertainty and insecurity together with the fears that individuals have experienced gave rise to liquid modernity. Prior to the theorizing of liquid modernity, Bauman made a harsh criticism of modernism. He, thought that power managed violence. Although postmodern period seems to be the salvation of totalitarianism in modernism, Bauman thought that the postmodern period is not very different from modernism, and even makes the life of individuals more uncertain. Giriş Sosyoloji, toplumsal sorunların anlaşılması ve toplumdaki aksaklıklara eleştirel bir yönden bakılabilmesini sağlayan bir sosyal bilimler alanıdır. Çalışmada ele alınan 20. ve 21. yüzyılın en önemli sosyologlarından Zygmunt Bauman, yapmış olduğu çalışmalarda eleştirel bir bakış açısı ile pek çok toplumu incelemiştir. Bauman'ın akışkan modernite kuramsallaştırmasını anlayabilmek adına yürütülen bu çalışmada, derinlemesine literatür taraması yapılmış, nitel araştırma yöntemi olan doküman inceleme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bauman'ın akışkan modernite kuramsallaştırmasını incelemeden önce, kendisini tanımak, kuramsal çalışmalarını anlayabilmek son derece önemlidir. Polonya'da doğan bir Yahudi olarak öteki olmanın zorluklarını hayatının büyük bir bölümünde yaşayan Bauman, yapmış olduğu çalışmalarda bu zorlukları toplum nezdinde incelemiştir. Nazi işgaliyle hayatı bir sürgüne dönen Bauman, pek çok yerde bulunmanın da etkisiyle farklı toplulukları inceleme fırsatı bulmuştur. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında Bauman'ın yaşamı, eserleri ve etkilendiği isimlere yer verilerek kuramsal çalışmaları aktarılmıştır. Kendisini modernizm ve postmodernizm tarihçisi olarak adlandıran Bauman, modernizmi barbarlığın kalıntıları değil ta kendisi olarak görmektedir. Bu nedenle çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında Bauman'ın modernizme olan bakışı incelenmiştir. Bauman, postmodern dönemi ise başlarda modernizmin kurtuluşu olarak görse de daha sonraları, postmodernizmin, modernizmden hiç de farklı olmadığını pek çok çalışmasında vurgulamıştır. Çalışmanın ana konusu olan akışkan modernite kuramsallatırmasını postmodernizmin bir eleştirisi olarak görmek mümkündür. Son bölümünde akışkan modernite kuramsallaştırmasının anlaşılabilmesi açısından akışkanlığın, aile yaşamından, iş yaşamına kadar yayıldığı gösterilmiştir.

Šiame darbe nagrinėjamos Donskio istorijos filosofijos ištakos ir mąstytojų įtakos filosofo minčiai. Taip pat atskleidžiamos pagrindinės Vakarų Europos kultūros tyrinėjimų temos per literatūrą ir tapybą bei išskleidžiama takiosios modernybės kritika.

Pirmoje dėstymo dalyje nagrinėjamos Donskio istoriosofinės ištakos nuo Spenglerio civilizacijos teorijos, atskleidžiant skirtumus tarp istoricizmo, paremto evoliucionistine istorijos samprata, ir radikalaus istoricizmo, paremto cikline laiko teorija ir fatalizmu. Taip pat aptariama miesto reikšmė Donskiui, remiantis Mumfordu, ir galiausiai aptarinėjamas istorinio žmogaus santykis su moraliniu lauku.

Antroje dalyje aptariama Kavolio ir Štromo įtaka Donskio istoriosofiniam mąstymui.
Jame atskleidžiama kitokia istorijos filosofija, paremta nelinijine istorijos samprata ir idėjų istorija, taip pat santykis su moraline vaizduote bei jautrumu. Štromo įtaka pasireiškia per disidentizmo istoriją ir tipologiją.

Trečiojoje darbo dalyje, remiantis Donskio istoriosofijos principais atskleidžiamos
pagrindinės Vakarų Europos kultūros tyrinėjimų temos per literatūrą (Shakespeare’as, Cervantesas) ir tapybą (Halsas, Rembrandtas, Velázquezas). Aptarinėjamos temos:
meilė/neapykanta, draugystė/išdavystė, pilietis, garbė ir senatvė.

Ketvirtoje dalyje kartu su Baumanu išskleidžiama Donskio takiosios modernybės
kritika. Pagrindiniai kritikos objektai yra takusis blogis ir moralinis aklumas. Vieno iš takiojo blogio aspektų yra nykstantis privatumas, aptarinėtas kartu su distopijomis.

Galiausiai, Donskio istoriosofinis mąstymas yra neatsiejamas nuo jautrumo ir moralinės vaizduotės, kurią atpažinti galima per kultūros formas, kaip literatūra ar tapyba. Takiosios modernybės kritika yra būdas išsaugoti moralinę vaizduotę.

This research focuses on understanding the origins of Leonidas Donskis's philosophy of history and influences of the thinkers to thoughts of the philosopher. Also, the paper is revealing the main topics of inquiries of Western European culture through literature and painting, lastly discloses the critique of liquid modernity.

The first part analyzes the origins of Donskis's philosophy of history from Spengler’s theory of civilization, revealing the differences between historicalism, the concept of evolutionistic history, and radical historicalism, cycle time theory and fatalism. Therefore, discussed the importance of city to Donskis, using Mumford, and finally the relation between historical human being and field of morality.

In the second part discusses the influences of Kavolis and Štromas to Donskis's thinking of philosophy of history. In his thinking discloses the different philosophy of history with the non-linear concept of history and history of ideas, also, relation with moral imagination and sensitivity. The impact of Štromas occurs within the history of disidentism and the typology.

In the third part of the paper, discloses the main topics of inquiries of Western European culture through literature (Shakespeare, Cervantes) and painting (Hals, Rembrandt, Velázquez). Discusses topics about love/hatred, friendship/betrayal, citizen, honor and senility.

The fourth stage reveals Donskis’s critique of liquid modernity, which discusses with Bauman. The main objects of critique are liquid evil and moral blindness. One of the aspects of liquid evil is diminishing of privacy, discussed together with dystopias.

Finally, summarises, that Donskis’s thinking about philosophy of history is inseparable from sensitivity and moral imagination, which we could recognize through forms of culture as literature and art. Critique of liquid modernity is a way to save moral imagination.
