Navigation assistance systems are aiming to improve safety and provide traffic optimization and have become more and more popular in a modern vehicular technology. The reason is given by the significant traffic increase and numerous congestion events in large cities, large complexity of road infrastructure, and unexpected or hazardous conditions that can be found on roads. This paper proposes an innovative navigation system solution that intelligently gathers traffic data provided by integrated car sensors and/or onboard security systems and uses it to warn other participants. System concepts, architecture, design, implementation, and performance evaluation aspects are presented, and tasks organization for an embedded cost‐effective implementation using a real‐time kernel is illustrated.

The LORAN-C system is the most extended version of LORAN and the one that achieves the greatest range and accuracy of all the versions that have become operative. However, this is an outdated system in the current times, compared to GNSS satellite-based systems, which on the contrary is still in use and is assured its continuity in the short and medium term by political decision of the US and several European countries. But this continuity today is limited to a mere transition, because a new improved version of LORAN, still in an experimental phase, the eLORAN, will replace it in all its current functions, in addition to adding many others.

The proposed work presents a navigation system, which detects the obstacles and also guide to visually impaired people about appropriate path. The system we propose detects the obstacle via an infrared based detecting system and sends back vibro-tactile or sound (buzzer) feedback to inform the user about its position. The most common method of obstacle detection, used by blind people is the walking stick. The limitation of walking stick is that, it does not provide protection near to head area. A sensor module is fixed on a light weight cap allowing the user to obtain the information about obstacles (near to head area) and also about correct path on which the user should move. When the user uses this system with cane, he is fully protected about obstacles and can navigate freely into the environment.

This research uses modelling of structural equations via PLS to assess the 167 suitable questionnaires so as to evaluate the recommended model to identify factors that affect driver intention to continue using car navigation systems among UAE's drivers with private licenses. The research will describe relationships among ease of use, perceived usefulness, and intention to continue using car navigation systems. Our efforts have improved our understanding of the use of satellite navigation technology. Results suggested that both independent variables significantly predicted intention to continue usage. The recommended model also clarified 20% of the variance in the intention to continue using car navigation systems.

The indoor navigation is a system which is used to locate the exact locations inside a campus. This paper discusses about the navigation technology which uses the data stored in the active database of a University to locate the places which are requested, this system does not use the GPS (Global Positioning System) and any other Internettechnologies. Both the 2-D (2-dimensional) and the 3-D (3-dimensional) navigations are possible in this system. The 2-dimensional navigation system uses the floor map of the campus and it directs the user with help of a route and in addition, the system guides with a path assistance mechanism. The graphical representations of the University buildings are used for 3-dimensional navigation which offers street view of the campus for the user to locate places.

But such platforms are still failed to provide such facilities to disabled people. In our project, we are going to make a system which provides such facilities to disabled people also. We are going to develop system in which the person with blind disability can interact with the system through the audio interface and the person with speaking and listening disabilities can interact with the system through the visualization. In this system provide a full specification of the crippled person and according to that our system will suggest them theirs perfect match for them.

Route planning is an important daily activity and has been intensively studied owing to their broad applications. Extracting the driving experience of taxi drivers to learn about the best routes and to support dynamic route planning can greatly help both end users and governments to ease traffic problems. Travel frequency representing the popularity of different road segments plays an important role in experience-based path-finding models and route computation. However, global frequency used in previous studies does not take into account the dynamic space-time characteristics of origins and destinations and the detailed travel frequency in different directions on the same road segment. This paper presents the space-time trajectory cube as a framework for dividing and organizing the trajectory space in terms of three dimensions (origin, destination, and time). After that, space-time trajectory cube computation and origin-destination constrained experience extraction methods are proposed to extract the fine-grained experience of taxi drivers based on a dataset of real taxi trajectories. Finally, space-time constrained graph was generated by merging drivers' experience with the road network to compute optimal routes. The framework and methods were implemented using a taxi trajectory dataset from Shenzhen, China. The results show that the proposed methods effectively extracted the driving experience of the taxi drivers and the entailed trade-off between route length and travel time for routes with high trajectory coverage. They also indicate that road segment global frequency is not appropriate for representing driving experience in route planning models. These results are important for future research on route planning or path finding methods and their applications in navigation systems.

El presente trabajo trata sobre la viabilidad de la aplicación de los elementos de la Arquitectura de la Información (sistemas de organización; navegación; etiquetado y búsqueda) al mundo de la televisión inteligente. Se analiza cómo se interpretan estos sistemas y servicios en dichas plataformas. En concreto, el estudio se centra en la plataforma LG Smart TV. Una de las cuestiones que se plantea es ver si los avances relacionados con la Arquitectura de la Información que empiezan a manifestarse en algunas disciplinas se perciben también con las televisiones inteligentes. En este caso concreto, queda mucho camino por recorrer dado que hay que desarrollar una aplicación que permita al usuario gestionar directamente la información.

This paper discusses the feasibility of applying the elements of Information Architecture (systems of organization, of navigation, of labeling and of search) to the world of Smart TV and how different systems and services studied in these platforms are interpreted. Specifically, the study focuses on the LG Smart TV platform. One of the questions raised is whether the advances that are emerging in some disciplines are also perceived to smart TVs. In this particular area, have a long way to go because you have to develop the application that allows the user to directly manage information.

This study aimed to characterize navigation systems in handheld and compare it to navigation systems in desktop computers. In order to achieve such purpose, initially, we revised literature concerning handheld interface elements and navigation systems. This was followed by the identification of five macro categories of the navigation system, which guided the comparative study. To conclude, we exemplified a series of communalities and differences for each navigation subsystem in both computer types.
