Strains traditionally identified as Proteus vulgaris formed three biogroups. Biogroup 1, characterized by negative reactions for indole production, salicin fermentation and aesculin hydrolysis, is now known as Proteus penneri. Biogroup 2, characterized by positive reactions for indole, salicin and aesculin, was shown by DNA hybridization (hydroxyapatite method) to be a genetic species separate from biogroup 1 and from biogroup 3 which is positive for indole production and negative for salicin and aesculin. In this study, 52 strains were examined, of which 36 strains were Proteus vulgaris biogroup 3, which included the current type strain of the species P. vulgaris (ATCC 29905T), and compared to seven strains of Proteus vulgaris biogroup 2 and nine type strains of other species in the genera Proteus, Providencia and Morganella. Assessing the user experience (UX) while being immersed in a virtual environment (VE) is crucial to obtain insights about the quality and vividness of the experience created by virtual reality (VR) systems. These valuable insights are necessary to understand a user's response to VEs and, therefore, to advance in VR research. However, a standardized and effective measure for assessing UX is still missing. Consequently, this lack of suitable measures hinders researchers to gain knowledge and understanding about the effects of VEs on users and in turn slows down the progress in VR technology. This paper is aimed at harvesting the photovoltaic systems extracting power under difficult irradiance and load conditions, by proposing a novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT). This proposed MPPT tactic has been examined under various climatic and load conditions using two powerful and accurate simulation environments for PV systems, MATLAB/Simulink and Proteus. Untuk menghindari terjadinya kebakaran pada rumah yang disebabkan oleh kebocoran gas, diperlukan sebuah sistem keamanan yang mudah dipakai. Seiring dengan berkembangnya jaman dan semakin luasnya penggunaan mikrokontroler periset menggembangkan sebuah simulasi perancangan sistem keamanan untuk me-monitoring keadaan didapur, khususnya di daerah yang rawan kebocoran gas dengan menggunakan sensor gas MQ2, modul sensor api, dan sensor suhu DS18B20 yang diindikatori dengan lampu LED dan LCD LM016L dengan menggunakan aplikasi Proteus 8. Dengan menggunakan komponen yang mudah didapatkan, simulasi ini dapat dibuat dengan mudah sebagai sistem alternatif untuk rumah tangga, hotel, atau perusahaan yang membutuhkan alat keamanan agar terhindar dari kecelakaan yang tidak diinginkan.

Abstract--The objective of the work is to apply solar power for charging electronic appliances namely iphones. The circuit is designed for low ampere and high ampere charging by using PROTEUS software and fabricated and tested for its performance. Time required for full charging of iphone 5 with 1A charging is 90 minutes whereas it is only 50 minutes with 2A charging port. Solar power operated table can be developed by the companies for charging electronic gadgets such as mobile phones that can be employed in public places such as parks, bus stations and airports. Another feature of this product is that three consumers can charge at a time. Charging of electronic gadgets can be done by the common public by drawing power from the battery charged by solar power thereby reducing consumption of electricity from the main grid. The system with 1A and 2A charging of i-phones using solar power operated battery is unique and new to the locality of Caledonian college of engineering and the work can be extended to other parts of Sultanate of Oman.

The mechatronic systems represent one of the most challenging control applications due to their interdisciplinary nature. Numerous control algorithms have been proposed to deal with nonlinear dynamics of the mechatronic systems. For linear mechatronic systems, the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is often used owing to its simple structure and robustness. One of the most common applications in all mechatronic domains is the control of DC motors. To develop a product which will can be used efficiently. In this case, develop a PCB (Printed Circuit Board) to control a servomotor position and speed. Arduino UNO ATMEGA 328 is used to control the motor. This motor is controlled using PID logic (Proportional Integrative Differential). The PID logic is implemented in the motor using the Arduino UNO ATMEGA 328 micro controller. After implementing the above, proteus design is made and PCB is printed. The final printed circuit board will be able to control the motor using PID logic.

In Clouds 340–355 the deified Nephelai are described as shape-shifters, i.e. marvellous beings able to change their appearance at will. This fabulous concept was widespread in ancient Greek and Near Eastern myth and folklore; shape-shifting qualities are attributed to Olympian gods (Zeus, Dionysus), lesser demons (Proteus, Nereus, Thetis, Nemesis), heroic mortals (Periclymenus, Mestra), but also personages of the folk imagination, such as bogeys, wizards, and witches. Aristophanes loved this magical motif, which ultimately expresses the inexhaustible transformations of comic art. Philocleon in the Wasps, a paragon of vitality, performs a long series of simulated metamorphoses in the scenic space, imitating the movements and gestures of various animals or natural elements. The personified Nephelai, however, do not simply turn into anything they like. Rather, they select their form each time in such a way as to reflect the vices of the particular person they meet; they become e.g. deer before a coward, wolves in front of a greedy embezzler, or Centaurs before a lustful man. The Clouds’ serial metamorphoses are thus subjected to an ethical typology of the animal world, similar to the one found in animal fables. Aristophanes combines the magical motif of the shape-shifter with the moral allegory of the Aesopic corpus, and thus turns the folktale patterns into satirical weapons against contemporary politicians. The shape-shifting Nephelai represent the polymorphous poetics of comedy, which uses mimetic forms to visibly criticize the evils of Athenian public life.

The present work aims to highlight the impact that Synesius of Cyrene had on Ficino and Pico della Mirandola in the formation process of the Renaissance concept of rhetoric and the anthropology connected
thereto. Special attention will be drawn to the close link between rhetoric and phantasia, both imaginative and creative forces that are present in all three authors. The master of these forces is the rhetorician, who assumes in this respect an exemplary anthropological function. In fact, if
on the one hand he is an ambiguous manipulator of shady speeches, on the other hand he is able to fully express the variety of human nature. This makes him an alter deus, that is, a demonic being whose nature is superior to any other. It is no accident that the demigod Proteus is a
theme in all three authors and is the symbol of a positive human nature, which reveals itself as amphibious, multiple and, above all, highly characterised on the verbal level and the imaginative level.

Ο Ηρόδοτος χρίστηκε μετά θάνατον «πατέρας της Ιστορίας», αλλά ο τίτλος αυτός αδικεί την πολυμέρεια του έργου του. Ο Ηρόδοτος είναι προπάντων προσωκρατικός, ένας «σοφιστής» με την πρωταρχική σημασία της λέξης, δηλαδή τεχνίτης της γνώσης και επαγγελματίας ερευνητής του επιστητού. Το συγγραφικό του επίτευγμα το καταλαβαίνουμε καλύτερα αν το εντάξουμε στη συνολική πνευματική κίνηση της εποχής του, ιδίως στο πλαίσιο της διανοητικής επανάστασης που έφεραν η φιλοσοφία και η επιστήμη στην Αθήνα της χρυσής εποχής του Περικλή. Ο εγκυκλοπαιδισμός του Ηρόδοτου τον φέρνει κοντά στους σοφιστές και σε μορφές όπως ο Δημόκριτος, με τα ευρύτατα γνωστικά τους ενδιαφέροντα. Σαν τους φυσικούς επιστήμονες, ο Ηρόδοτος ερευνά θέματα μετεωρολογίας, γεωλογίας και ζωολογίας, ενώ οι μικρές διατριβές του για το κλίμα, τη δίαιτα και τις ασθένειες των διαφόρων εθνών θυμίζουν τους ιατροφιλοσόφους της ιπποκρατικής συλλογής. Ο πραγματισμός και ο εμπειρισμός του, πάντως, τον προσηλώνουν κατεξοχήν στα αισθητά φαινόμενα και τον οδηγούν σε μια μορφή ανθρωποκεντρικής επιστήμης, όπου κύριο μέλημα είναι η επίδραση του φυσικού κόσμου επί του βίου και του πολιτισμού των κατά τόπους κοινωνιών.

Σαν τους σοφιστές, ο Ηρόδοτος αναπτύσσει την πολιτισμική ανθρωπολογία και πασχίζει να καταγράψει το σύνολο της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας, τόσο για τον ελληνικό κόσμο όσο και για τους γείτονές του. Το κεντρικό σοφιστικό ζεύγος φύσης και νόμου δεσπόζει στο ανθρωπολογικό του πανόραμα. Η φύση αναδεικνύεται σε κρίσιμο παράγοντα για τη διαμόρφωση του ιστορικού γίγνεσθαι. Όμως ο Ηρόδοτος απορρίπτει την άκρατη φυσιοκρατία των πιο ριζοσπαστών σοφιστών και τονίζει την καταλυτική σημασία του νόμου για τον χαρακτήρα και την ιστορική δράση κάθε λαού. Το ενδιαφέρον του για τη θρησκευτική πίστη τον σημαδεύει επίσης ως τέκνο της διανόησης του καιρού του. Ο Ηρόδοτος εισάγει τη συγκριτική θρησκειολογία και αναζητεί τα καθολικά στοιχεία και τις κοινές δομές του υπερβατικού που ενυπάρχουν στη συλλογική συνείδηση της ανθρωπότητας. Δεν συμμερίζεται τον αγνωστικισμό ή τον αθεϊσμό των πιο προβεβλημένων σοφιστών, αλλά μοιάζει με άλλον τύπο διανοουμένων της εποχής, που συνδύαζαν φυσιοκρατική επιστήμη με αταλάντευτη πίστη στο θείο, όπως π.χ. ο Τειρεσίας των Βακχών του Ευριπίδη ή ο συγγραφέας του Παπύρου του Δερβενιού.

Η αφήγηση διδακτικών και παραδειγματικών ιστοριών, ουσιώδες συστατικό της ηροδότειας τέχνης, μπορεί να θεωρηθεί εντός του ίδιου πνευματικού πλαισίου. Η ενσωμάτωση νοβελιστικών στοιχείων και μυθιστορικών διηγήσεων στην ιστορική σύνθεση ήταν παμπάλαιο γνώρισμα της ιστοριογραφίας της Ανατολής, που μεταδόθηκε και στην ιωνική λογογραφία. Η πρακτική του Ηρόδοτου όμως οφείλει πολλά στα φιλοσοφικά διηγήματα των σοφιστών, που επινοούσαν στοχαστικές παραβολές για να παραστήσουν με εποπτικό τρόπο συλλογισμούς γύρω από την ηθική, την κοσμολογία ή την κοινωνική θεωρία. Οι νουβέλες και τα ανέκδοτα του Ηρόδοτου, παρομοίως, δραματοποιούν συλλήψεις της σκέψης, επιχειρήματα και ιδέες που έχουν βαρύτητα για τη θέαση της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας. Ιδίως απεικονίζουν τις βαθύτερες δυνάμεις που υπόκεινται στην ιστορική εξέλιξη, τους νόμους που διέπουν την εγκόσμια κατάσταση και καθορίζουν τη διαδρομή της ανθρωπότητας μέσα στον χρόνο. Αυτή η λειτουργία διερευνάται στη συνέχεια μέσω μιας σειράς παραδειγμάτων, παρμένων από τις διασημότερες διηγήσεις του ηροδότειου έργου.

Η περίφημη συνάντηση Σόλωνος και Κροίσου (1.30‒33) φέρνει σε αντιπαράθεση τις εμβληματικές ενσαρκώσεις δύο αντίθετων πολιτισμών — το άκρον άωτον της ελληνικής σοφίας απέναντι στο μεγαλείο και στον κόρο της Ανατολής. Η αντιπαράθεση δύο μορφών που προσωποποιούν ασυμβίβαστες κοσμοαντιλήψεις θυμίζει τους σοφιστικούς αγώνες λόγων, με τη διαφορά ότι στην ηροδότεια νουβέλα ο ένας από τους αντιπάλους δεν εκφράζεται με τον λόγο αλλά μάλλον με το εμπράγματο επιχείρημα του πλούτου. Τοποθετώντας αυτόν τον μυθιστορικό αγώνα ιδεών στην αρχή του συγγράμματός του, ο Ηρόδοτος προδιαγράφει το γνωσιακό σχήμα με το οποίο οργανώνει το υλικό της ιστορικής εμπειρίας. Δεν είναι μόνο ότι η σύγκρουση Ελλάδας και Ανατολής αποτελεί τον κεντρικό άξονα της ηροδότειας σύνθεσης. Ολόκληρη η ιστορία της ανθρωπότητας παρουσιάζεται ως διαπάλη πολιτισμών που αδυνατούν να καταλάβουν ο ένας τον άλλον. Η έλλειψη αμοιβαίας κατανόησης μεταξύ περιχαρακωμένων κοσμοαντιλήψεων είναι ο κινητήριος μοχλός για την αναδιανομή του παγκόσμιου χάρτη.

Στη νουβέλα της Ελένης και του φαραώ Πρωτέα, που περιλαμβάνεται στην έκθεση των βασιλικών χρονικών της Αιγύπτου (2.112‒120), ο Ηρόδοτος ξαναγράφει ειρωνικά την ιστορία του Τρωικού Πολέμου. Η Ελένη παραμένει στην Αίγυπτο, φιλοξενούμενη του φαραώ, και ο Πάρις γυρίζει στην πόλη του με άδεια χέρια. Όμως οι Έλληνες δεν πιστεύουν την παραπάνω αλήθεια, όταν την ακούνε από τους Τρώες, και συνεχίζουν τον πόλεμο μέχρι να κουρσέψουν την πόλη. Όπως σε όλους τους μεγάλους δασκάλους του μαγικού ρεαλισμού, η ουσία του ηροδότειου διηγήματος βρίσκεται στον πλούτο βαθύτερων στρωμάτων αφηγηματικού νοήματος κάτω από την επιφανειακή ακολουθία των συμβάντων. Στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση, κάτω από τις αφελείς δηλώσεις περί ασυνεννοησίας των αντιπάλων και τις ηθικολογίες περί θείας τιμωρίας των μεγάλων εγκλημάτων, διακρίνεται ως υπόρρητο δίδαγμα ένας καθολικός νόμος του ιστορικού γίγνεσθαι: οι πόλεμοι διεξάγονται πάντοτε για λόγους διαφορετικούς από εκείνους που προβάλλονται στα φανερά. Τα μυθεύματα της αρπαγής γυναικών συγκαλύπτουν σκοτεινότερα ιστορικά κίνητρα, όπως η πλεονεξία και η κατακτητική έφεση της εξουσίας. Ο Ηρόδοτος εκφράζει εποπτικά την ίδια θεωρητική στάση που θα διατυπώσει αργότερα με αναλυτική γλώσσα ο Θουκυδίδης, όταν θα διακρίνει ανάμεσα στην ἀληθεστάτην πρόφασιν του πολέμου και στις ἐς τὸ φανερὸν λεγομένας αἰτίας.

Το συμβούλιο και τα προειδοποιητικά όνειρα του Ξέρξη πριν από το ξεκίνημα της εκστρατείας του (7.8‒18) αναπαράγουν αφηγηματικά σχήματα διαδεδομένα στις βασιλικές μυθιστορίες της Εγγύς Ανατολής. Ο Ηρόδοτος όμως αντιστρέφει την τυπική σειρά των μοτίβων: το όνειρο δεν προηγείται αλλά έπεται του συμβουλίου των αυλικών, και δεν έχει στόχο να εμπνεύσει εξαρχής το σχέδιο στον βασιλιά αλλά να κάμψει τους δισταγμούς που τον κατέλαβαν εκ των υστέρων, εξαιτίας της αποθαρρυντικής στάσης ενός επιφυλακτικού συμβούλου. Ο Ξέρξης παρουσιάζεται σαν να μην είναι ελεύθερος να αποφασίσει και να αλλάξει γνώμη. Η διήγηση μυθοποιεί την ιδιάζουσα ηροδότεια αντίληψη για τη λειτουργία του κακού, το οποίο, με όρους ιστορικής εμπειρίας, ταυτίζεται με την πλεονεξία και την αυθαιρεσία της εξουσίας. Αυτό το ιστορικό κακό αποτελεί φαινόμενο με δυναμική και διάρκεια, ένα είδος αναπόδραστου κύκλου που, άπαξ και ανοίξει, πρέπει να ολοκληρώσει την τροχιά του. Το κακό αυτονομείται από τους ανθρώπινους συντελεστές του, επιδεικνύει δική του βούληση και ένστικτο αυτοσυντήρησης και συνεχίζει τη δράση του μέχρι το αναπόφευκτο τέλος. Από τη στιγμή που ο Ξέρξης συνέλαβε το σχέδιο να περάσει τα νόμιμα όρια της επικράτειάς του, ο κύκλος του κακού έχει εγκαινιαστεί και δεν μπορεί να σταματήσει. Η ίδια εμπειρία συνέχει και άλλες διηγήσεις του Ηρόδοτου, όπως η απιστία του Γλαύκου (6.86) και το τέλος του τρελού βασιλιά Καμβύση (3.61‒67).

Στον πυρήνα της ηροδότειας συγγραφής βρίσκεται ο παραλληλισμός του θεού και του τυράννου, όπως αναδεικνύεται από τα λόγια του Αρτάβανου (7.10ε) και το ανέκδοτο του Θρασύβουλου της Μιλήτου (5.92ζ): και οι δύο θερίζουν τα βλαστήματα που υπερέχουν. Ο θεός κυβερνάει τον κόσμο σαν τύραννος: η δομή του σύμπαντος είναι δεσποτική. Και αντίστροφα, η μεγάλη ύβρη του τυράννου είναι ότι προσπαθεί να απομιμηθεί τον θεό. Η ανθρώπινη εξουσία φιλοδοξεί να λειτουργήσει σαν μικρογραφία της θεϊκής τάξης του κόσμου, αλλά υπόκειται και η ίδια στην απαρέγκλιτη θεία νομοτέλεια την οποία πασχίζει να αναπαραγάγει.

The simulation results prove that the novel MPPT tactic has a high convergence speed to locate the MPP, especially at fast solar irradiation and load variation with zero oscillation under steady-state operation, which takes less than 9.6 milliseconds (ms) under the MATLAB/Simulink software and 0.24 microseconds (μs) under Proteus environment. That means it is about six times faster than P&O and five times faster than INC MPPT methods, and its tracking efficiency is between 99.40% and 99.86%. Furthermore, the novel MPPT tactic shows the best tracking accuracy and better ability to mitigate power losses under overall simulation scenarios compared with other traditional MPPT methods.

Robots are versatile instruments of technology that work to make the life of human beings easy. The perceptive
visualizations of a task being done are theorized and modeled into real-time algorithmic executions. Pick and place
systems are highly advantageous due to their consistency, accuracy, precision, repeatability, reliability, resolution
and efficiency. A robot arm is fixed to a base and operates in its workspace to achieve the migration towards its pick
location. It opens its gripper upon arrival to grasp the object and move with it to the depot location. Upon arrival
at the destination it opens its claws to release the object. The microcontroller sets the servo motors to rotate at
calibrated angles that place the arm at the desired position in space and time to commit to the task. The dawn of
todays research across the horizon of computing shall bring rise to the apocalypse that shall abominate all barriers
of robotic development.

Persistent inhibition of bacterial growth, called postantibiotic effect (PAE), after a short exposure to a new carbapenem, meropenem, was determined in different strains of the Enterobacteriaceae family. Capillary electrophoresis (CE), as well as sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) were used to study the outer membrane protein (OMP) profiles before and after meropenem treatment. CE proved to be suitable for the characterization of the OMP profiles of bacteria. Significant changes in the electrophoretic patterns were observed, showing the consequential effect of meropenem on bacteria.
