Bagian sensor memanfaatkan 2 sensor penginderaan, sensor ultrasonik dan sensor gas. Sensor ultrasonik diletakkan pada bagian depan, samping kiri, dan samping kanan pada dasar bagian mekanik. Perangkat dilengkapi dengan electric nose technology bahwa fungsi sensor gas diasumsikan seperti indera penciuman manusia.

Abstrak. Produk helmcharger tenaga surya merupakan produk yang dikembangkan oleh penulis bersama timnya dan telah didanai KEMRISTEK-DIKTI ditahun 2013 untuk program karsa cipta dan mendapat pendanaan DIKTI kembali dalam bentuk usaha di tahun 2014. Helmcharger ini telah beberapa diikutkan dalam kegiatan-kegiatan ilmiah baik konferensi maupun kompetisi selama rentang waktu 2013-2015 dan saat ini sedang proses pengajuan paten dengan beberapa klaim yang membedakan dengan inovasi serupa. Makalah ini berisi profil invensi beserta pencapaian pemenuhan kualifikasi inovasi unggul dan tinjauan peluang/prospek binisnya yang berbasis technopreneurship, sebagai bentuk tindak lanjut penelitian dan pengembangan.

Seiring dengan peningkatan teknologi menyebabkan peningkatan akan limbah elektronik. Pengolahan limbah elektronik yang ada berupa secondhand, reparasi, mengubur, dan membakar, belum mampu mengendalikan pertumbuhan limbah elektronik dan menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Indonesia berpeluang menjadi Negara buangan limbah elektronik Negara maju dengan adanya penyelundupan diberbagai pelabuhan di Indonesia. Jika hal dibiarkan maka limbah elektronik di Indonesia akan terus meningkat dan berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan. Pasar loak Comboran merupakan pusat perdagangan limbah elektronik di kota Malang. Kehadiran pasar ini diharapkan mampu mempelopori pendirian industri kreatif berbasis limbah elektronik di kota Malang. Namun, sayangnya tidak semua pedagang di pasar Comboran mengetahui teknik pengolahan limbah elektronik yang tepat, sehingga limbah elektronik yang diolah masih menimbulkan sisa limbah (E-waste residu) yang dapat mencemari lingungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengatasi limbah elektronik tersebut adalah dengan menciptakan industri kreatif berbasis limbah elektronik. Sehingga bahan baku produksi dalam industri tersebut adalah berasal dari limbah elektronik. Adapun tahapan penulisan makalah ini antara lain (1) studi literatur, (2) observasi, (3) perumusan industri kreatif limbah elektronik, (4)penarikan kesimpulan, dan (5) saran. Hasil dari penulisan ini adalah formulasi pendirian industri kreatif di pasar loak Comboran dengan memanfaatkan bahan bahan baku limbah elektronik. Dengan adanya makalah ini diharapkan mampu memberi gambaran akan potensi pengelolaan limbah elektronik yang bernilai profit dan mampu mensejahterakan masyarakat di pasar loak Comboran.

Research will be carried out making electric-powered helmet with integrated power plant technology, the helmet which can produce direct current electricity (Direct Current) to harness solar and wind energy. With solar cells Photovoltaic cells can convert sunlight into electricity, while the conversion of wind energy into electricity using wind turbines mini type horizontal axis design mounted on the front of the helmet. So the purpose of this project is to make a helmet that will be used to charge limited to cell phones. The literature mentions two sources of energy are available all the time (sun and wind) and abundant. So take advantage of these two as a producer of electrical energy is the right selection. Research into producing electricity in helmet technology was previously done by the authors, however, only limited use of solar cells mounted on the top of the helmet, so that the user can perform charging during the day only. Therefore further research is done by adding a mini wind turbine, so that during the day when electricity is obtained using photovoltaic and mini turbines are mounted on a helmet. In the evening, when only using turbine alone, the electrical energy stored in the power bank. This paper is a preliminary study to determine the feasibility of making the energy generating system integrated in the helmet, so that the limited review of the literature related to the potential of solar energy, wind and previous relevant research.

Kulkas portabel didesain industri agar bersifat praktis dan dapat dibawa kemana-mana termasuk dalam perjalanan. Namun apabila suplai daya menggunakan accu mobul dan dilakukan secara terus menerus dapat memperpendek umur accu mobil, dampaknya terjadi gangguan pada mesin dan sistem starter sehingga menyebabkan mobil sering mogok. Peneliti mengembangkan sistem kulkas portabel dengan suplai daya sel surya yang ditempatkan pada bagian atas mobil. Penelitian ini terbatas pada (1) pengaruh performa mobil apabila daya kulkas diambil dari daya accu 12VDC dan (2) pengujian sel surya sebagai supply daya listrik untuk kulkas. Peneliti menggunakan suplai daya ac sebagai variabel kontrol untuk membandingkan kinerja kulkas menggunakan accu mobil untuk mode panas dan dingin dengan kinerja kulkas menggunakan ac jala-jala 220V. Pengujian sel surya dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelayakan pemakaian untuk mengganti fungsi suplai daya accu 12VDC dan performa stabil seperti sumber ac 220V

Makalah ini secara khusus menjelaskan proses uji kelayakan alat peraga oscillator untuk mata kuliah workshop instrumentasi industri di jurusan Teknik Elektro Universitas Negeri Malang melalui validator ahli materi, ahli media dan uji coba ke mahasiswa. Langkah-langkah uji kelayakan dimulai dari penentuan jenis data yang akan dihimpun melalui suatu instrumen, disini peneliti memilih instrumen menggunakan kuisioner tertutup, selanjutnya tahapan-tahapannya yakni: (1) penyusunan kisi-kisi angket , pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan tiga acuan dalam penilaian media pembelajaran, yakni: Azhar Arsyad (2011), Rayandra Asyhar (2012), dan Romi Satrio Wahono (2006) ; (2) Penyusunan kisi-kisi angket, pada tahap ini peneliti menyusun angket berdasarkan pendapat ketiga ahli media pendidikan (3) Penyusunan angket, Pada tahap ini peneliti mengembangkan kisi-kisi yang telah disusun kedalam variabel, indikator dan butir pertanyaan. Hasil penilaian ahli media meliputi 6 (enam) aspek, yakni: (1) Efektifitas dengan persentase, (2) Kemudahan, (3) Kesesuaian, (4) Kelengkapan, (5) Komunikatif dan Interaktif. Hasil penilaian ahli materi meliputi 4 (empat) aspek, (1) Kesesuaian, (2) Kelengkapan, (3) Kemudahan, (4) Kejelasan, Hasil penilaian persepsi mahasiswa tentang alat peraga oscillator ini meliputi 5 (lima) aspek: (1) kemudahan, (2) Kejelasan, (3) Kesesuaian, (4) Tampilan, (5) Kemenarikan.

Makalah ini menjelaskan perancangan dan pembuatan tool kit/alat peraga pengendalian motor stepper jenis Bipolar yang merupakan salah satu contoh motor yang banyak diaplikasikan di industri ataupun perangkat sistem elektronika lainnya. Fungsinya dapat digunakan sebagai perangkat alat ajar untuk peserta didik yang mendalami keilmuan elektronika sistem kontrol. Tool kit yang telah berhasil dibuat ini memuat materi tentang (1) prinsip motor Stepper, dan (2) kontrol Shaft drive, (3) Controller dan pengkabelan, (4) Pengendalian menggunakan sinyal pulsa, dan (5) pengontrolan secara CW dan CW. Dengan tool kit memungkinkan peserta didik untuk dapat belajar kontrol motor stepper dengan mudah, menyenangkan dan kompetensi dapat tercapai.

An industrial gas leak will cause material losses and impede the gas distribution of the company. In addition, it can also threaten human lives if the gas leaked is of toxic and inflammable gasses. Thus, to overcome these issues, the researchers had developed an automatic gas leak detection system through this prototype. In this journal, the researchers described how to make a prototype of a robot for monitoring the gas leak. The designed robot was of Out-Pipe Robot type and a PVC pipe was used as the real replica of the pipe. This study was conducted for three purposes: (1) Determining the design; (2) Describing the making process and (3) Explaining the performance test of the prototype of pipe tracking robot using electric nose technology as the gas leak detector. The working system of this pipe tracking robot is by tracking the pipe using the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. If the MQ-6 gas sensor detects the presence of a gas leak, the gas sensor will detect the gas and convert it into voltage. Then, the gas sensors will transmit the input voltage to the Arduino microcontroller, after which the output of the Arduino microcontroller will release the data to the LCD and display it in the form of digital figures in accordance with the level and type of the leaked gas. Besides, the buzzer will start sounding once it detects the presence of the gas. The results of the study were: (1) The device is able to track the pipe which was ± 10 cm in diameter, (2) The device is able to detect gas other than clean air, (3) The flashing LCD screen indicating that it detected the presence of gas, (4) The ideal distance to be maintained between the pipe and the mobile robot was 5 cm. With the ideal distance, the mobile sensors could easily track over a pipe installation without getting distracted by other objects. (5) The time reference used as the detection range was 1 minute. By doing so, the sensor will be more sensitive.

Electronic T-Shirt adalah brand kaos yang diusulkan untuk menjadi usaha kaos yang menarik dan mampu menyampaikan pesan pendidikan, khususnya dalam bidang elektronika agar menambah wawasan masyarakat terhadap dunia elektronika di zaman yang sudah serba modern ini dan dijual dengan harga terjangkau. Dalam pelaksanaannya, perencana usaha akan melakukan beberapa metode, antara lain perencanaan usaha, pembuatan desain sesaui literatur dan konsep desain, proses produksi, dan pemasaran. Pemasaran akan dilakukan melalui berbagai media, seperti media online dan promosi langsung ke lapangan. Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat menyebabkan peningkatan e-waste (limbah elektronik) secara signifikan. Metode pengelolaan limbah elektronik dengan pembakaran (combution) kurang sesuai bila diterapkan sebab sampah yang mengandung logam berat ini dibakar akan menimbulkan polusi udara (pencemaran timbal) yang sangat berbahaya. Di samping itu, pengolahan limbah elektronik berbeda dengan sampah organik yang dapat diolah oleh masyarakat sendiri dengan menjadikannya sebagai pupuk. Oleh karena itu, kondisi tersebut dapat dikategorikan sebagai permasalahan urgen di Indonesia sehingga membutuhkan solusi cerdas yang cepat dan tepat dalam pengolahannya. Penanganan limbah tersebut bisa diatasi melalui metode baru yakni integrasi seni yang merupakan suatu inovasi yang mengutamakan nilai seni dan nilai fungsi dari limbah tersebut. Sehingga bisa dijadikan peluang dalam mendirikan binis yang menjanjikan dan ramah lingkungan apabila diterapkan secara masif juga dukungan pemerintah daerah melalui suatu UKM. Komponen-komponen yang biasanya dikubur, dileburkan, atau diekspor, akan dipilah kembali menjadi bagian yang tidak terlalu rusak fisiknya sehingga akan mempermudah dalam proses pembuatan karya seni. Pembangkit sinyal atau Oscilator merupakan rangkaian yang berfungsi untuk menghasilkan output sinyal periodik/frekuensi tertentu hanya dengan bantuan sumber searah/DC. Aplikasinya dalam sistem elektronika sangat luas misalnya saja pada radio, televisi, perangkat nirkabel, radar yang kesemuanya membutuhkan pembangkitan sinyal. Makalah ini membahas tentang pengujian trainer oscilator Wien Bridge, trainer ini merupakan salah satu dari 5 (lima) trainer yang dikembangkan oleh penulis. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen, yakni membandingkan persamaan teoritik dengan hasil pengukuran frekuensi oleh osciloskop dan Frequency Counter. IC yang digunakan pada trainer ini adalah IC Op-Amp 741CN. Hasil yang didapatkan dari serangkaian eksperimen ini nantinya dimasukkan dalam Jobsheet dan modul ajar untuk menunjang pembelajaran praktikum pada mata kuliah Workshop Instrumentasi Industri di Jurusan Teknik Elektro Universitas Negeri Malang (UM).

Sorgum atau orean merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan sumber karbohidrat yang berpotensi besar menggantikan beras karena terdapat asam amino dari protein biji sorgum mirip dengan komposisi asam amino pada protein jagung. Indonesia adalah negara dengan penduduk besar dan wilayah sangat luas, ketahanan pangan merupakan agenda penting di dalam pembangunan ekonomi Indonesia dengan pemanfaatan sorgum sebagai bahan pangan belum begitu memasyarakat. Namun di daerah-daerah tertentu di Indonesia sorgum juga telah digunakan sebagai makanan pokok pengganti beras. Pemanfaatan tanaman sorgum sebagai tanaman khas Kabupaten Lamongan diolah menjadi tepung yang mempunyai manfaat bagi kesehatan sekaligus sebagai penambah inventaris oleh-oleh khas Kabupaten Lamongan yang akan dijual pada konsumen. Produksi mie kering sorgum juga dapat dijadikan sebagai usaha alternatif dalam bentuk home industry atau sebuah UKM, yang bermanfaat sebagai penambah penghasilan individu. Sedangkan marketingnya dilakukan kerjasama dengan beberapa toko pusat makanan, pasar tradisional, pasar modern maupun diikutkan dalam event tertentu dan sasaran marketingnya yaitu para kawula muda khususnya area Jawa Timur yang banyak terdapat pecinta mie dan masyarakat umum lainnya. Tentunya pemanfaatan mie kering sorgum dapat dijadikan wadah promosi keanekaragaman produk oleh-oleh khas Kabupaten Lamongan dan juga hasil olahan bahan alam negeri sendiri untuk menambah daya tarik wisata di Indonesia.

Anak-anak di Indonesia saat ini semakin jarang mendengarkan cerita dongeng tradisional yang biasanya terdiri dari cerita epos, legenda, dan fabel. Padahal, terdapat berbagai pilihan dongeng asli Indonesia yang rekreatif, eduaktif, dan inspiratif. Dongeng ini juga penting untuk diberikan agar anak dapat terbiasa berpikir kreatif dan kritis. Hampir punahnya kebiasaan mendongeng disebabkan para orang tua tidak mengetahui banyak mengenai cerita dongeng terutama yang berasal dari luar daerah. Selain itu, gaya hidup modern yang aktif dan sibuk menyebabkan orang tua tidak sempat lagi memberikan dongeng sebelum tidur pada anak mereka. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan pengembangan media penyampaian dongeng dengan memanfaatkan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi pada masa ini. Solusi yang dapat ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah dengan menciptakan sebuah media dongeng berbasis animasi yaitu “Digitale” yang dapat disajikan pada gadget seperti Tablet PC, Ipad, maupun Smartphone. Harapannya solusi ini dapat membantu orang tua untuk menyampaikan dongeng kepada anak-anak mereka dengan cara yang lebih mudah
dan praktis sehingga selain dapat memberikan hiburan dan pengenalan pada budaya Indonesia pada anak-anak juga dapat menstimulus daya kreatif dan kritis anak dalam menghadapai sebuah permasalahan. “Digitale” ini diharapkan dapat dapat membantu usaha penyelenggaraan pendidikan anak usia dini di lingkungan keluarga. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendahuluan mengenai “Digitale”.

Melalui buku sejarah digital berbasis animasi siswa dapat menikmati bacaan buku sejarah, karena dengan sentuhan teknologi menjadikan buku sejarah yang menarik, edukatif, dan interaktif. Software yang digunakan adalah adobe flash professional CS6, yakni dengan mengintegrasikan teks-teks menjadi animasi disertai video, sehingga buku sejarah terkesan interaktif. Telah dilakukan desain buku sejarah digital yang merupakan sebuah terobosan baru untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Tulisan ini sebagai kajian awal mengenai perancangan dan pembuatan Buku sejarah digital. Adapun materi yang telah di buat adalah: (1)Masa Hindu Budha – Perkembangan Hindu Budha, (2)Masa Islam dan (3)Masa Kolonial.

Abstrak Oscillator dapat didefinisikan sebagai sebuah rangkaian elektronik yang didesain sebagai pembangkit gelombang sinyal atau gelombang periodik lainnya. Bentuk dasar gelombang oscillator diantaranya (1) Sinyal kotak, Segitiga, (3) Gigi Gergaji, (4) Sinusoida. Setiap bentuk gelombang memiliki karakteristik tersendiri. Khusus lingkup dalam penelitian ini adalah menganalisa pembangkit gelombang kotak versi OP-AMP. Paper ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen, yakni percobaan untuk membandingkan hasil perhitungan manual dengan sebuah penampil sinyal oleh oscillator gelombang kotak dengan (1) Sinyal Osciloscope, (2) Menggunakan beberapa software electrical engineering, (3) Menggunakan pendekatan MATLAB. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan yang cukup signifikan diantara hasil render simulasi tersebut. Dilain itu hasil dari penelitian ini adalah berupa rekomendasi pemilihan perangkat lunak pembelajaran disiplin ilmu " elektronika " yang digunakan dalam proses pengajaran.

This paper describes a circuit that can detect the presence of cigarette smoke contained in the non-smoking room. Smoke sensors used to use AF30 and microcontroller AT89S51 as the program memory. Buzzer is used as a marker of the presence of smoke alarms. The downside of this system is still using a simple algorithm, meaning not using artificial intelligence / AI. So the system is relatively simple, and the authors recommend that the system will be developed with more complex circuits. But his hopes, system simplicity is what will be easier for people to make a smoke detector, both in hardware and software.

In this short article, we discuss the comparison of two popular routing protocols, i.e., Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) using two network simulators, i.e., Graphical Network Simulator-3 (GNS3) and Enterprise Network Simulation Platform (ENSP). Both of OSPF and RIP routing protocols can be used in the same topology and have differences in the connection time required to connect communication between routers. Thru GNS3 and ENSP, we obtained the comparison result at ideal condition; we found that the OSPF routing protocol (83 ms) has a faster time or efficient in connection than RIP (177 ms). Besides, we found that compared to GNS3 network simulators (329 ms), the ENSP has a relatively more rapid average time (94 ms). This work suggests that a Huawei router with ENSP is faster than a Cisco router which is used by GNS3. Hopefully, this information can be refereed by internet network administrators to build real-time computer networks.

Several factors drive the use of visible light communication systems as an alternative communication method besides RF communication, one of which is energy saving because the VLC system uses the same device for room lighting, i.e., LED. This study aims to model the VLC systems based on multi-carrier modulation (DCO-OFDM) by using MATLAB software. In this study, VLC the system is modeled on two parts, namely Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and optical channels. The DSP block consists of FFT, convolutional encoder, modulator-demodulator, interleaver-deinterleaver, and synchronizer. For error control coding (ECC), the Viterbi decoder algorithm is used. The results showed that DCO-OFDM frames had been successfully designed. Based on mathematical calculations through the MATLAB approach, the VLC system can work well in 5m x 5m x 3m rooms size: BER equals to zero for the minimum SNR of 10 dB has been obtained while the highest SNR value that can be achieved is ~ 30 dB.

Also, asset managers in PUI PT Microelectronics ITB are challenging to prepare the asset documentation to face monitoring and evaluation activities with the investigators from the ITB Logistics Department (once every six months) and KEMRISTEKDIKTI (once a year). A web-based system is needed to help the investment process. This research utilizes open source software, namely Snipe-IT as a web-based inventory system developed through the Waterfall method. It is expected that the developed system can overcome the defined problems. The scope of the study is only limited to system design and per-unit testing while overall functions test is not elaborated. This paper contributes to in implementing Snipe-IT step-by-step including the problems troubleshooting that occurs.

Objek peneltian dilakukan di Jurusan Teknik Elektro, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Malang (JTE FT UM) yang dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya alat peraga osilator dilabolatoriumnya untuk menunjang kelancaran kegiatan pembelajaran. Ketiga produk telah diuji coba baik secara fungsional maupun uji kelayakan pemakaian produk yang dilakukan pada 3 (tiga) kelompok responden yakni: Ahli media, Ahli materi,dan mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk telah memenuhi kriteria valid dari para ahli dan mendapat respon positif dari mahasiswa praktikan. In order to realize a high-speed visible light communication (VLC) system, digital signal processing (DSP) device is required, including the main processing unit, DAC, and ADC. This paper discusses the interface design of the DSP processing unit to 10-bit DAC and 12-bit ADC for VLC applications. The Systems in DAC and ADC modules have been designed with a SoC-based approach by using processing unit based on FPGA Xilinx Zynq xc7z010-1CLG400C on the Avnet MicroZed board. The design of hardware-level-design (H/W SoC) is done by utilizing IP blocks from Xilinx using Vivado 2014.2. While the software-level-design (S/W SoC) is done by using Xilinx SDK 2014.2. The DSP receiver has been tested in several scenarios, the DAC module is able to convert 10-bit digital signals into analog signals in sinusoid form and can adjust its output frequencies, while the ADC module is capable of processing the analog signals into 12-bit digital signals with two's complement format.

The design and implementation of visible light communication systems for transmitting digital data (texts) have been discussed in this paper. Then, two evaluations were performed also, i.e. the demonstration of streaming text through the visible light as a proof-of-concept system design. The next evaluation is a BER measurement intended to know the VLC system performance quantitatively. The value of BER against the several parameters: by the variation of distance and its reception angle. The proposed VLC system works well until the photodiode reception angle to the LEDs up to 50°. According to evaluation, our system can operate optimally within 30 – 80 cm or 50 – 130 cm of optical channel range depending on the Gain setting option. To support the reliability of noise from ambient light and interference lamps such as fluorescent lamps, the filters circuit are employed: high pass filter and DC-offset remover. Based on the BER analysis, the filters can compensate the problem of ambient light noise (DC-offset signal) and interference lamp (100-150 Hz of the carrier frequency). The speed of obtained data-rate with 1-PWM modulation and the low-cost analog component is 3.3 kbps.

ABSTRAK Visible Light Communication (VLC) atau komunikasi cahaya tampak merupakan teknologi yang sedang on fire selama beberapa tahun ini dan diasumsikan akan terus berlanjut beberapa dekade kedepan karena banyak kelebihan yang ditawarkan, yakni telah tersedia infrastruktur utama berupa lampu penerangan sehingga bersifat cost-effective, bebas lisensi, lebih aman (secure), kecepatan transmisi mencapai GHz, dan tidak memiliki interferensi elektromagnetik. Karena VLC adalah teknologi yang relatif baru, maka standar komunikasinya juga cenderung berkembang ialah standar IEEE 802.15.17 yang terpublikasi akhir tahun 2010 lalu. Standar ini masih mengajukan teknik modulasi dan juga komunikasi pada skenario point-to-point namun sampai saat ini belum mengakomodasi sistem komunikasi dengan skenario Multiuser sekaligus transmisi Bi-directional. Makalah ini merupakan proposal rancangan dalam rangka mendesain sistem VLC secara bi-directional (uplink dan downlink) yang mampu dipakai pada skema multiuser dengan kecepatan bitrate pada downlink mencapai 1 Mbps untuk aplikasi dalam ruang (indoor). Makalah ini terbagi menjadi beberapa bagian pembahasan. Since VLC is a relatively new technology, its communication standards also tend to develop is the IEEE 802.15.17 standard published late 2010. This standard still proposes modulation techniques as well as communications in the point-to-point scenario but until now has not accommodated the communication system with Multiuser scenario as well as Bi-directional transmission. This paper is designed to design a bi-directional (uplink and downlink) VLC system that can be used on multiuser schemes with bitrate speeds downlink of up to 1 Mbps for indoor applications. — Analog Front-End (AFE) is a part of physical layer (PHY) at Visible Light Communications (VLC) system which has important things to transmit and receive the data. This research is a preliminary study in designing AFE transceiver which consists of LED driver and Trans-impedance Amplifier (TIA). The results are used as advanced reference design of AFE system and also to determine the modulations range (analog as well as digital). The design verification is based on data transmission which generated by signal generator. Square wave signal is used as digital modulation representative, and sinusoid signal as analog modulation representatitive. The range of VLC channels is about 50 cm with 0 o angle. The result shows that digital modulation bandwidth is about 1 KHz to 10 KHz frequency, and analog modulation bandwidth is from 200 KHz to 600 KHz. We also find a significant impact by adding 1 pF capacitor to reduce noise gain. Furthermore, color filter testing is performed to investigate the design performance. Intisari—Analog Front-End (AFE) merupakan bagian dari physical layer pada sistem Visible Light Communications (VLC) yang memiliki peran penting dalam transmisi dan menerima data. Makalah ini merupakan studi awal dalam perancangan transceiver AFE yang terdiri atas driver LED dan Trans-impedance Amplifier (TIA). Hasil pengujian dipergunakan sebagai referensi untuk mendesain AFE yang lebih kompleks dan sebagai acuan dalam penentuan range masing-masing modulasi. Verifikasi rancangan dilakukan dengan cara mentransmisikan data berupa sinyal yang dibangkitkan oleh signal generator, dengan sinyal kotak sebagai representasi dari modulasi digital dan sinyal sinus sebagai representasi modulasi sinyal analog. Jarak kanal adalah 50 cm dengan sudut elevasi 0 o. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bandwidth modulasi digital adalah dari 1 KHz sampai dengan 10 KHz, sedangkan pada modulasi analog adalah dari 200 KHz sampai dengan 600 KHz. Hasil verifikasi lain adalah dengan menggunakan filter warna untuk mengetahui unjuk kerja rancangan serta pengaruh penambahan kapasitor untuk mengkompensasi noise gain.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat trainer board yang diharapkan dapat membantu memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami karakteristik Astable Multivibrator berbasis IC OP-AMP sekaligus sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan labolatorium. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah prototyping and assembling dengan beberapa tahap pendekatan yakni: Identifikasi, simulasi, eksperimen percobaan, proses desain/perancangan, fabrikasi dan testing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa trainer board yang telah dibuat sesuai dengan teorema. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan R&D yang terdiri dari enam tahapan, yaitu: konsep, desain, pengumpulan bahan, pembuatan, pengujian dan pendistribusian. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to examine research on in-body communication. This study aimed to assess the research growth in different countries, identify influential authors for potential international collaboration, investigate research challenges, and explore future prospects for in-body communication. A total of 148 articles written in English from journals and conference proceedings were gathered from the Scopus database. These articles cover the period from 2006 until August 2023. VOS Viewer 1.6.19 and Tableau Cloud were used to analyze the data. The analysis reveals that research on in-body communication has shown fluctuations but overall tends to increase. The United States, Finland, and Japan were identified as the leading countries (top three) in terms of publication quantity, while researchers from Norway, Finland, and Morocco received the highest number of citations. The University of Oulu in Finland has emerged as a productive institution in this field. Collaborative research opportunities exist with the countries mentioned above or with authors who have expertise in this topic. The dominant research topic within this field pertains to ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. One of the future challenges in this field is the exploration of optical wireless communication (OWC) as a potential communication medium for in-body devices, such as electronic devices implanted in the human body. This includes improving performance to meet the requirements for in-body communication devices. Additionally, this paper provides further insights into the progress of research on OWC for in-body communication conducted in our laboratory.

This paper reports a System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture design for the DC-biased optical OFDM (DCO-OFDM) Visible Light Communication (VLC) transceiver. The proposed SoC comprises several Digital Signal Processing (DSP) blocks, i.e., Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Convolutional Encoder (CE), Viterbi Decoder, Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (QPSK) Modulator/Demodulator, Interleaver/Deinterleaver, and Synchronizer. System was designed through the combination of two Intellectual Property (IP) types: designing IP from the scratch (custom-based IP) and employing available core accelerator IP served by the third party, which is Xilinx library (reuse-based IP). All DSP blocks were targeted for the FPGA development board (Xilinx Zynq SoC 7000), then combined with the ARM microprocessor. In this study, ARM microprocessors were used for various tasks, i.e., scheduling process, on-chip memory as a temporary data storage function, Analog-to-Digital Converter (A/D), Digital-to-Analog Converter (D/A), and Ethernet module as communication medium between SoCs and personal computer (PC). Testing was carried out on the Register Transfer Level (RTL) for hardware (H/W) and software (S/W) models implemented on ARM microprocessors. The system performances were measured through the point-to-point data communication scenarios between a PC transmitter and PC receiver. A 77 kbps of data communication speed and 2.9 ms of data processing latency were obtained using 100 MHz clock speed. The VLC on-chip was successfully demonstrated in RTL phase. This system is suitable for a low-rate communication system application, generally for joint VLC and Internet-things (IoT) technology, (then called as VLC/IoT).

The digital image, character/texts, audio (music), and video are the multimedia contents commonly used as objects to be transmitted on the VLC system. This paper has performed the real-time file transfer successfully using VLC technology with a UART connection. The FPGA was chosen as a DSP due to its capability in clocked-speed. We used an Ethernet connection due to its easy configuration and ability to meet the high-speed communication requirement. It was used for communicating between the host and the client device computer. This work covers the MAC layer implementation, SoC FPGA for UART connection, and analog front-end (AFE) transceiver. According to the functional test, the achieved bandwidth of the Ethernet connection is about 83.6 Mbps. However, the FPGA’s clock is set at 100 kHz only due to the transferred file does not require a high speed. Thus, the physical layer baud rate is fixed to 11520 bps; it can be used for real-time transfer of a digital image with 512 pixels with no compressed file and error at 22 cm of optical LoS channel (no lenses).

UNESCO has designed the education concept through the EFA movement; thus, the SDGs can be achieved optimally. This movement is expected to create quality education that can be reached by all people, mainly to whom live in villages far from big cities. The effort to equalize education must be supported by recent technology, especially since the penetration of technology into various fields had been introduced simultaneously. E-learning has many benefits, and it can support wide-scale learning. The e-learning concept in Indonesia has been adopted through a digital platform, namely Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). There are various publications related to e-learning application for formal education, while the discussion of e-learning for non-formal education is still limited and has not much explored. Following are the results of this literature study (1) e-learning is a digital-based learning tool that has been implemented in most of the universities and higher educations; (2) e-learning application for society cannot be realized because there are many problems (such as low technical skill of the society, so they have difficulty in accessing technology and the facilities support have not been distributed well. Hence it can not be reached massively by the society), resulting the technology utilization for training or counseling have not been implemented optimally yet; and (3) MOOCs are part of e-learning that can be employed by everyone, not only for academics but also for the general public, providing various features like formal education.

In this paper, we present the progress in developing the Cyber Society (CS) v.1.0, which is a prototype of intelligent learning concepts that can be employed in the 21st century and become the future-proof technology. This paper is a continuation of the previous work that discussed there a high-possible to develop specific e-learning for Indonesian society to support Education for All (EFA); therefore, this work will focus on the realization of our idea. It will start from “analysis” to the “evaluation” steps. The discussion of this paper comprises of (1) analyzing the needs and minimum requirements of the CS prototype; (2) designing; (3) developing, and (4) evaluating the CS prototype. Once the CS has been developed, then, we evaluated the CS website v1.0 using the black-box method; it shows that the system but-tons can be run well as expected. Later, we tested its Usability through the SUS questionnaire that obtained from 50 participants, we got eighty (80) of the mean score. According to the SUS measurement, the feasibility of CS website v1.0 can be categorized as follows: (1) Promoter NPS; (2) Acceptable; (3) Excellent Adjective; and (4) A- Grade. This work has usefulness in developing modern teaching & learning patterns. Moreover, it is expected to be a medium of online-based learning with real-time concepts without any limitations on time, age, and distance. Our system can be used as a reference model in developing future technology-based learning media.

By using Visible Light Communication (VLC), in contrast to radio waves, the secure connection can be established more efficiently since the visible light could not radiate through most solid objects. VLC has been applied for many use cases, one of them is Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi). With Li- Fi, internet access is no longer using conventional RF spectrum as employed in Wi-Fi technology but apply visible light. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a Li-Fi on a System on Chip (SoC) with a low-cost discrete analog front end (AFE). We used ZYBO Zynq-7000 as a digital signal processing, 8 Watt yellow-colored high-brightness LED (HBLED) for downlink transmitter, and 3 Watts infrared LED (IR LED) for uplink transmitter. Our system is developed compliant with the IEEE 802.15.7 standard, i.e. PHY II.1. According to the result, our Li-Fi system makes the PC/Laptop connected to any internet sources with a maximum speed up to 500 kb/s, and the maximum optical channel distance (range between the light source and the light receptors) is about 110 cm with two lenses.

Fundamentally, the Bidirectional DC/DC converter consists of Buck and Boost modes, which working alternately. Hence, it has two output directions: Buck mode for decreasing the voltage and Boost mode for increasing the voltage at certain levels. In this work, we applied a non-isolated topology of the Bidirectional DC/DC converter for electric vehicle, that is mini all-terrain vehicle (ATV). We set a Buck mode to charge the Supercapacitor when the battery current and the Supercapacitor voltage are lower than considered level. Whereas the Boost mode was used to discharge as well as buffer the mini ATV when the battery current and the Supercapacitor voltage are higher than considered level. The discussion of Buck mode has been presented in previous work, so in this work, we focus on the Boost mode analysis only. This mode is set to increase the Supercapacitor’s voltage. The Supercapacitor with 25 VDC/8 Farad was used as the secondary main power inside the 22.2 VDC / 5000 mAh LiPo battery of the mini ATV motor. The mini ATV requires 36 VDC to work. Thus, it must be boosted first from 22.2 to 36 VDC using an external Boost converter. Moreover, it must be maintained at 36 VDC. Based on the requirement, we first design the bidirectional DC/DC converter involving the mathematical calculation and then simulate it into LTSpice®. The Printed-Circuit Board is then lay-outed and mounted. Later, we connected the designed system to mini ATV motor and tested the performance as well. According to the laboratory test, the Bidirectional DC/DC converter can increase (Boost) the voltage of the Supercapacitor from a certain level to 36 VDC. On the other hand, it can maintain 36 VDC. The central control in this system uses the STM32F4 Microcontroller, while the battery monitoring system employs the STMStudio.

n this paper, we report a smart street lighting control system using the ESP8266 which is a low-cost Wi-Fi chip with full TCP/IP stack and microcontroller capability. Our system is equipped with a web server developed in HTML code. Hence, our smart street lighting system can be controlled wirelessly to turn ON or turn OFF, and it can be monitored its environmental condition (i.e., temperature and humidity around the system). All sensors used in this system are pure digitally-outputted sensor: DHT11 to monitor the ambient temperature and humidity and BH1750 to adjust the street light intensity automatically. The dimming technique was applied in the control system by using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The system was divided into two main parts: Gateway and Node in which these two parts employ the ESP8266. The Gateway as a coordinator will send a message to the node as an end device (in this work, the streetlight act as a Node). Later, the node will send the ACK to the Gateway. As results, each node can send a message to other nodes.

In this report, we perform the digital filter computation using Matlab for Wi-Fi tracking application. This work motivates to improve the accuracy of filter algorithm in the RSSI-based distance localization system. There are several aspects that we can improve, e.g., in the Filter part and Path-loss model. But, in this work, we focus on filter part; Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) is implemented to replace linear Kalman Filter (KF), which is used in previous work. Based on the performance comparison, UKF has 90% hit ratio while linear KF has only 81.15 % hit ratio. We found that UKF can handle the noise in RSSI. Further work, the UKF algorithm is then embedded on the server system.

This paper reports a real-time localization algorithm system that has a main function to determine the location of devices accurately. The model can locate the smartphone position passively (which do not need a set on a smartphone) as long as the Wi-Fi is turned on. The algorithm uses Intersection Density, and the Nonlinear Least Square Algorithm (NLS) method that utilizes the Lavenberg-Marquart method. To minimize the localization error, Kalman Filter (KF) is used. The algorithm is computed under Matlab approach. The most obtained model will be implemented in this Wi-Fi tracker system using RSSI-based distance for indoor crowd monitoring. According to the experiment result, KF can improve Hit ratio of 81.15 %. Hit ratio is predicting results of a location that is less than 5 m from the actual area (location). It can be obtained from several RSSI scans, the calculation is as follows: the number of non-error results divided by the number of RSSI scans and multiplied by 100%.

The optical channel distance greatly influences the optical power received by the photodiode, the farther the distance between the receiver and the transmitter in the VLC system, the lower SNR, and the higher BER. To mitigate the mobility issue on the VLC system, we involve an AGC circuit put on the receiver side. Thus, the received information (signal) can adjust at specifically required voltage even though the distance and angle were changed. In this paper, the AGC circuit employs a single channel LM13700; this is commercially available as well as a low-cost Integrated Circuit (IC). The application method to design a VLC system using LM13700 configured as AGC is presented. Then the AGC performance evaluation by using two different modulations is also conducted. The results show that the weak information (signal) due to changing the optical distance and the receiver angle can be gained to a required voltage level as well. Therefore, the LM13700 can be recommended for the mobility VLC system. Our system focused on low-rate VLC applications due to bandwidth limitations within the used IC. Moreover, our system is aimed at the Line-of-Sight VLC channel.

In recent years, electronic money facilities are increasingly diverse. It may replace conventional payments. The use of physical money can be diminished by utilizing digital money, which is realized by smartphone apps, bar codes, smart cards, and so on. The types of smart cards used also vary, and it can be divided into two methods, i.e., with contacts and without contact. In this work, we develop electronic transaction devices using dual interfaces: contact and contactless smart cards. As computational processing, we employ the Raspberry Pi 3 Model 3. It has a high processing speed, large memory, and small size. Hence our system enables to compact in a portable box. The features offered on our transaction device are as follows: transaction menu, balance check menu, payment menu, and top up menu. Also, we provide a device transaction connection to the printer. Therefore, proof of transactions can be printed out easily. The device developed also provides a touch panel display to display the transaction menu.

To meet the growing demands of the data communication infrastructure in the Internet-of-Things era, alternative methods are needed to complement the current technology, one of which employs optics-based communication. In this paper, we develop optical wireless communication (OWC) infrastructure focuses on digital signal processing (DSP) part. We design System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture based on the Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique with reconfigurable hardware resources. The system developed combines ARM microprocessors with FPGAs. For accelerating the digital processing, several essential parts such as Viterbi decoder, FFT, and time synchronizer are applied to the hardware IP (H/W SoC). While the scheduling is carried out on the software (S/W SoC). With this system, the data communication with other devices can be practiced easily, using various peripherals, i.e., Ethernet, UART, and serial-based connection. Afterward, we exploit the system performance in terms of the hardware resources utilization both for DSP Transmitter and DSP Receiver, also the system latency.

This paper covers the design of a prototype for IoT and GPS enabled door lock system. The aim of this research is to design a door lock system that does not need manual input from user for convenience purpose while also remaining secure. The system primarily consists STM32L100 microcontroller as its core, TIP102 transistor that controls 12 V DC solenoid, and Xbee module to communicate with the smart home's host and receive status regarding user's GPS position. The system is tested by measuring the user's distance from the predetermined location using GPS coordinate captured by an Android application, which serves to test whether the system is able to operate as intended and measure the device's power usage. The test result shows that the device is able to work based on GPS coordinate data received, using 42.3 mA and 587 mA current in idle and active modes, respectively.

The primary motivation for this research is to design and implement the visible light communications (VLC) educational toolkit, especially in the analog front-end part. It consisted of six kits (transimpedance amplifier, pre-amplifier, DC-offset remover, analog filter, and AGC) in which each kit has one practicum task. There are six tasks and one task for the project by integrating these kits. The undergraduate students can use this educational kit to investigate the physical layer in a VLC system. It provides a low-complexity educational kit, so this is becoming an alternative as supplement course offered in this field. Then, it has a simple design and user-friendly.

COBIT framework version 4 has four domains with 34 processes, while the version 5 has five domains with 37 processes. There are various typical implementations of VLC in which one of them is for exchanging data TCP/IP packets, thus the user can browse the inter-net as in established Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) technology. Briefly, we can call it by Light fidelity (Li-Fi). This paper described the design and implementation of System-on-Chip (SoC) subsystem for Li-Fi application where the implemented SoC consists of hardware (H/W) and software (S/W). In the H/W aspect, Physical Layer (PHY) is made by using UART communication with Ethernet connection to communicate with Host/Device personal-computer (PC). In the S/W aspect, Xillinux operating system (OS) is used. The H/W-as well as S/W-SoC, are realized in FPGA Zybo Zynq-7000 EPP development board. The functional test result shows (without optical channel or Zybo-to-Zybo only) that the implemented SoC is working as expected. It is able to exchange TCP/IP packets between two PCs. Moreover, Ethernet connection has bandwidth up to 83.6 Mbps and PHY layer baud rate has bandwidth up to 921600 bps.

Our system is applied for indoor environment purpose. We obtained 13.4 kbps of maximum data rate transfer.

In this research, we designed digital signal processing (DSP) modeling using Matlab for visible light communications (VLC) systems using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The DSP modeling comprises three main parts: transmitter, receiver, and channel models. The receiver is designed to suppress the inter carrier interference (ICI) that may occur in a communications system using OFDM. To achieve it, we designed a synchronizer that comprises sampling frequency error estimation and a fine time synchronizer. Additionally, a Viterbi algorithm is used as the decoder to reduce the bit error rate (BER) of the system. In the transmitter, convolutional encoding is used to correct the frequency error of the OFDM signal. In the channel model, since light as a communications medium has several considerations that can affect signal quality, we model several conditions that can affect the quality of the transmission. To evaluate system reliability, we tested the system with various mappers: binary phase shift keying, quadrature phase-shift keying, quadrature amplitude modulation 16 (QAM16), and QAM64. From the simulation results, for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values that are not too small, a system with channel encoding and decoding has smaller BER values. Therefore, this study shows that convolutional encoding and the Viterbi algorithm in a VLC system using OFDM are able to reduce the system BER.

The design and implementation of medium access control (MAC) layer for network-enabled visible light communication (VLC) system is presented in this paper. The point-to-point link was chosen because of its simple in configuration as well as implementation. Whereas the FPGA Zybo Zynq-7000 is employed for prototyping the hardware of VLC system because of it serve a Linux operating system (OS), i.e. Xillinux. Our MAC layer has been realized in Python programming and running above the Zynq-7000 processor. The designed MAC Layer is adapted from IEEE 802.15.7 standard, specifically for delivering and receiving the MAC frames from the coordinator to the device or vice versa, wrapping the IP packets and unwrapping the MAC Frames with MAC headers and trailers, and performing the error detection in which the cyclic redundant check 16 (CRC-16) was selected. According to the functionality test, our proposed VLC system can perform to send the multimedia contents (video and image) as well as data packet for internet accessing purpose like a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) connectivity. Thus, it can be concluded that the implemented MAC layer has met the functionality specifications referred to the IEEE 802.15.7 standard. We also provide the Pseudo-code of designed MAC layer and its Python script (source-code) implementation that can be found in the Appendix section.

—To date, the photodiode still the first choice component is used in optical communication, especially for visible light communication (VLC) system. It has advantages of speed, energy consumption, and sensitivity, compared to other devices (e.g. image sensor). There are many practical implementations of high-speed VLC which uses photodiode. Commercially available photodiode typically have specific characteristics, so that it needs some consideration to be used as optimal receiver devices in VLC system. In this paper, analysis of received power characteristics of the photodiode in indoor line-of-sight (LoS) channel of VLC system is discussed. MATLAB® simulation is used as approach model (student version). The experiments are done by changing several parameters such as the semi-angle half power of the transmitter, distance from the transmitter to receiver, room size, field-of-view (FOV), lens index and optical filter gain. From the results, it can be known that distance, room size, FOV and LED power factor to have linear characteristic against the received power of commercial photodiode. Also in LoS channel model, the gain of optical filter and lens index plays an important role in defining the characteristics of received power.

—Visible Light Communication (VLC) as one of wireless technology must be able to offer a good capability as mobile communication system. The signal will be faded when the distance and angle of LED to photo-detector become higher at a certain distance. Other problem at VLC system is light interference noise which is caused by flicker effect from other light sources such as incandescent, fluorescent, DC-lamp (i.e. flashlight) and the sunlight. Each of lights have specific carried signal characteristics and it can influences the VLC system. In this paper we offer design of mobile VLC system based on analog domain. We use Automatic Gain Controller (AGC) circuit using commercially available IC and it will be placed at analog front-end receiver side. AGC can self-adjust its gain according to the input signal amplitude. We also design ana-log filter to eliminate all interferences noise spectrum which is existed under 50 KHz. We design both circuits, analog filter and AGC in VLC receiver system with low-cost. The test data are obtained through the simulation and achieved good results in ideal condition.

This is a conceptual proposal which is aimed at describing an intelligent security system to early detect cases of electricity theft which is claimed effective to cope with ICT based cases of electrecity theft. The method employed in the detector is computation system, which is the computation of phase differences (Φ), current voltage in real time and losses detection of electrical power grid by 220V. The losses calculation employs Kirchoff's law I which is Kirchoff's current law. The current sensors are put on the output distribution transformer and on customer's APP connection. The working principles are (1) reading output current and phase differences at the load point (of the customer's) in the distribution transformer using the current sensor, (2) comparing the output current (Io) with the sum of certain variables on consumers to be discussed in this paper. (3) Knowing the data of electric current usage by recording data of losses in real time and by sending them to teh control center monitoring in in real time.

Therefore, to solve the problem, some renewable energy resources have been developed, such as solar, wind, biomass, etc. Further more, Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) is the first mover that utilizes gas as the working fluid. In the gas turbine, kinetic energyis converted into mechanical energyin the form ofa round wheel that drives the turbine to produce power. Exhausted heat produced by GTG reaches up to ~645 °C (GTG in Petrokimia Gresik Factory, East Java, Indonesia). Exhaust energy from Gas Turbine Generator can be utilized became electric energy using seebeck effect, Peltier effect and Thompson effect. So exhaust energy can be converted into electrical energy. Finally, the energy conversion be used for industrial installation of DC supplies. Thus, the purpose of this paper are: 1) to explain the concept of conversion of gas turbine generator which is changing the exhaust into electrical energy, there by the exhaust can be used a san independent DC power plant supply. An industrial gas leak will cause material losses and impede the gas distribution of the company. In addition, it can also threaten human lives if the gas leaked is of toxic and inflammable gasses. Thus, to overcome these issues, the researchers had developed an automatic gas leak detection system through this prototype. In this journal, the researchers described how to make a prototype of a robot for monitoring the gas leak. The designed robot was of Out-Pipe Robot type and a PVC pipe was used as the real replica of the pipe. This study was conducted for three purposes: (1) Determining the design; (2) Describing the making process and (3) Explaining the performance test of the prototype of pipe tracking robot using electric nose technology as the gas leak detector. The working system of this pipe tracking robot is by tracking the pipe using the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. If the MQ6 gas sensor detects the presence of a gas leak, the gas sensor will detect the gas and convert it into voltage. Then, the gas sensors will transmit the input voltage to the Arduino microcontroller, after which the output of the Arduino microcontroller will release the data to the LCD and display it in the form of digital figures in accordance with the level and type of the leaked gas. Besides, the buzzer will start sounding once it detects the presence of the gas. The results of the study were: (1) The device is able to track the pipe which was ± 10 cm in diameter, (2) The device is able to detect gas other than clean air, (3) The flashing LCD screen indicating that it detected the presence of gas, (4) The ideal distance to be maintained between the pipe and the mobile robot was 5 cm. With the ideal distance, the mobile sensors could easily track over a pipe installation without getting distracted by other objects. (5) The time reference used as the detection range was 1 minute. By doing so, the sensor will be more sensitive.

This paper  discusses  the  functional system of a  learning media product  development; the design and implementation of a virtual lab with analog oscillator comprising 4 (four) practical topics of digital oscillator, namely (1) Wien Bridge oscillator, (2) Colpitts oscillator, (3) Hartley oscillator and (4) Astable Multivibrator. This Virtual Laboratory was built using Adobe Flash CS6 action script 3.0. It comprises several parts, they are initial page (flash scren), main page or home page, practical page and a page about the developer. This media is accessed offline on a computer standalone based with the extension of .exe or .swf which is constructed by 24 frames per second (fps). This media can be operated by changing the Resistor (R), Inductor (L) and Capacitor (C) components and being continued to the plug and play from the RLC to the tool kit or trainer kit, while the output can be seen in the measuring devices; the frequecy counter and oscilloscope. The second product is a digital jobsheet as a supplementary for the practical which contains prequisites for conducting the practical, introduction, anatomic information of the virtual lab, directions for using e-jobsheet and the virtual lab, as well as  the practical procedures and test items for evaluation.

Many researches have been conducted in smart home topic. Mostly, they discussed on the specific aspect of application. On the other side, many applications still can be explored and attached into the system. Several main challenges in designing the application devices are system complexity, reliability, user friendliness, portability, and low power consumption. Thus, design of electronic driver is one of the key elements for overcoming these challenges. Moreover, the drivers have to comply the rules of smart home system, data protocol, and application purpose. Hence, we propose a rapid prototyping methodology on designing lightweight electronic drivers for smart home appliances. This methodology consists of three main aspects, namely smart home system understanding, circuitry concept, and programming concept. By using this method, functional and lightweight drivers can be achieved quickly without major changes and modifications in home electrical system. They can be remotely controlled and monitored anytime and from anywhere. For prototyping, we design several drivers to represent common electronic and mechanical based applications. Experimental results prove that the proposed design methodology can achieve the research target.

Ensuring the provision of sustainable and secure electrical power for ingestible/implantable medical devices (IMDs) is crucial for facilitating the multifaceted capabilities of these IMDs and preventing the need for recurrent battery replacements. Using photovoltaic (PV) energy harvesting in conjunction with an external light source can be advantageous for an optical wireless power transfer (OWPT) system to enable energy self-sufficiency in IMDs. This study investigates the performance of OWPT using commercial monocrystalline silicon PV cells exposed to an 810 nm Near-infrared (NIR) LED light. The ethical concerns are addressed by utilizing porcine samples (ex vivo approach), eliminating the need for live animal experimentation. The experimental setup employs porcine meat samples with several compositions, e.g., pure fat, pure muscle, and different layers of fat-muscle. The primary goal of this initial study is to analyze the open-circuit voltage output (V OC) of the PV against received optical power in the presence of biological tissue. Our study demonstrates that PV cells can generate voltage even when exposed to light passing through porcine samples with a thickness of up to 30 mm. Furthermore, the V OC values of PV cells attained in this study meet the required voltage input level for supplying current IMDs, typically ranging from 2V to 3V. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into OWPT systems in the future, where monocrystalline silicon PV cells can be employed as energy harvester devices to supply various IMDs utilizing NIR light.

The designed VLC system consists of two blocks, i.e., the host and the client device (user). The Ethernet connection was used due to its easy configuration, flexibility, and it can meet a high-speed communication requirement. This paper discusses the practical-oriented from an idea that the multimedia-content (video) streams using visible light can be demonstrated by using FPGA Zybo Zynq-7000. For hardware and software prototyping, we designed Medium Access Control (MAC) layer, System-on-Chip, an analog front end (AFE) for transmitter and receiver. The designed VLC system was proven in real-time streaming and work as well as expected.

In this paper, we present two IP cores for OFDM-based Visible Light Communication (VLC) system: the first IP core is the demodulator IP core and the second IP core operates as an interface between the demodulator IP core and the ARM Cortex-A9 processor. The demodulator IP core implements three types of digital modulations, which are BPSK, QPSK, and 16-QAM. The input/output of the demodulator IP core was designed using the AXI4-Stream protocol. The input of the demodulator interface IP core was designed using the AXI4-Lite (memory-mapped) protocol, while the output was designed using the AXI4-Stream protocol. The IP cores were synthesized and implemented on a Xilinx Zynq-7000 programmable System-on-Chip (SoC). The functional verification shows that the IP cores are compatible with the AXI4 bus. The throughput of 181.9 Mbit/s was achieved by the demodulator with 16-QAM demodulation scheme.

The asymmetric RSA cryptosystem requires modulo operations in its encryption and decryption process, which is often realized with Montgomery modular multiplication. In this paper, we proposed a Montgomery multiplier hardware design using only primitive gates, adders, shifters, multiplexers, and registers. Our algorithm is also adaptable, which means that it can be reconfigured for applications with any arbitrary bits. The algorithm involves iteration, and to achieve less transistor count, we realized the iteration by feeding back the calculation results at the output back to the input, instead of connecting the gates in series. These considerations are made to allow us to create a compact custom ASIC design. The design was made with 130nm standard CMOS technology with NMOS and PMOS base width of 0.5|jm and 1 urn respectively. With the algorithm, our 8-bit multiplier ASIC design occupies an area of 0.0266mm2. The design is created and verified with Mentor Graphics™ EDA tools.

We have performed the short-range audio transfer system through a visible light as a medium using 3 Watt white phosphor LED, where the channel used is line-of-sight (LOS). The audio signal is coming from the PC and processed by analog front-end (AFE) transmitter which consists of the preamplifier, summing circuit, and buffer. The audio input signal amplitude can be adjusted manually by tuning the DC voltage level. In AFE receiver, TIA is used as a current to voltage converter. We used the summing amplifier circuit to set the signal DC level and positioning adjustment. The final block on the receiver circuit is a buffer and connected directly to the loudspeaker. The proposed AFE transceiver circuit has bandwidth around 300 kHz. In this paper, we also investigate the effect of a color filter using mica paper in free space between the transmitter and the receiver.

The hardware prototyping of an IrDA-based remote infrared (IR) device has been presented. The designed IR remote capable of controlling the smart home devices that use IR to interact with them such as the generic air conditioner (AC), Televisions (TV), and projector, in which the mentioned electronics appliances haven't an encryption system embedded. Hence, we can read the installed source-code of these devices, then stored in our IR remote. We used STM32L100 as a microcontroller. According to the test results, our prototype able to perform well as expected. The TV and AC can be controlled ”on” as well as ”off” at a certain maximum distance depends on power level used.

Theoretically, the Visible Light Communication (VLC) has a wide bandwidth up to hundreds GHz scale, free a license, more secure in data transmitting, safe to health risks, and no electromagnetic interference. Therefore it can be used as an alternative communication with extremely high speed up to Gigabyte per second (GBps) in a closed indoor environment, where the radio frequency can not exist. However, in practice, there are several challenges to obtain a high bit-rate, one of them comes from available electronic components that build at VLC system, i.e. Light Emitting Diode (LED), Photodiode and Op Amp. These components have limited bandwidth because the purpose is to be marketed, not for special applications, such as the military and space flight application. This paper discusses and analyzes the issue of bandwidth limitation of VLC by investigating commercial LEDs, Photodiodes, and Op Amps along with the measuring methodology and several procedures in order to find the best combination so that an optimum bandwidth can be obtained.

Besides that, it is also susceptible to ambient light of sunlight, flashlight, LED lamp, or handphone screen light as DC interferences. In this paper, we use a low-cost analog filter to reduce static interference noise from incandescent and fluorescent light. To reduce ambient light, we use manually configurable analog DC-offset adjuster. According to the experiment result, the design is able to perform well in reducing these noise sources.

Circuit and system of the Auto Gain Control (AGC) is a very important to be used in Visible Light Communication (VLC) transceiver receives the range of receivers and overcoming the near-far effect of the signal link. This paper discusses circuit design of AGC by using IC LM13700, a Trans-conductance amplifier. This IC is available in the electronic market and very low-cost. AGC is able to offer limited VLC mobility (movable) access at a certain distance and angle. We have performed an AGC circuit test that implemented in the optical link, the result shows (AVOL vs frequency) that AGC is effective to amplify the weak signal of VLC system (can be changed distance orientation up to 45 cm and angle of the receiver against The LED up to> 45 degrees.

These challenges are exist when VLC systems use analog modulation such as OFDM. Therefore it needs special requirements to design Analog Front-End (AFE), especially at transmitter side. LED driver must be operated at linear mode. In this paper we propose a low cost and simple linear analog AFE transmitter for VLC. According to these problem, the main topic in this paper is to describe a low complexity of AFE transmitter circuit design based OFDM signal. Describing contents consist of: 1) channels model with 3×3×3 of room sizes and single LED, 2) non-linearity LED model transfer function which cover I–V, P-V, and P-I characteristics, 3) proposed AFE transmitter which cover variable non-inverting amplifier, offset adjuster and current-sink LED driver topology.

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi menyebabkan peningkatan limbah elektronik (E-waste). Pengolahan limbah elektronik yang ada berupa proses recovery logam-logam berharga dalam limbah elektronik meliputi pemisahan secara mekanik, piromatalurgi, hidrome-talurgi, dan elektrokimia berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan dan membahayakan kesehatan manusia karena bersifat korosif dan toksik. Selain itu, Indonesia juga berpeluang menjadi Negara buangan limbah elektronik Negara maju, dibuktikan dengan adanya penyelundupan diberbagai pelabuhan di Indonesia. Jika hal ini dibiarkan maka limbah elektronik di Indonesia akan terus meningkat dan berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan.
Solusi yang digunakan dalam mengatasi limbah elektronik tersebut adalah dengan merumuskan kebijakan pengelolaan limbah elektronik dan menciptakan industri kreatif ramah lingkungan berbasis limbah elektronik. Adapun tahapan penulisan antara lain (1) studi literatur, (2) pengumpulan data, (3) analisis data, (4) perumusan kebijakan dan ide produk industri kreatif ramah lingkungan, (5) penarikan kesimpulan dan saran. Hasil dari penulisan ini adalah berupa saran kepada pemerintah akan kebijakan yang sebaiknya diambil guna mengatasi limbah elektronik di Indonesia serta strategi pendirian industri kreatif ramah lingkungan berbasis limbah elektronik baik berupa tahapan pendirian usaha, serta pihak-pihak terkait yang dapat membantu mengimplimentasikan dan mengembangkan industri kreatif ini. Diharapkan dengan adanya tulisan ini dapat memberi gambaran akan potensi pengolahan limbah elektronik yang bernilai ekonomis, ramah lingkungan, dan memiliki daya saing global guna menyiapkan SDM dalam menghadapi MEA.

applications which are commonly found in a home. Motivation of this work is to propose end-devices prototyping design which are: (1) able to represent several main electronic functions in a common home; (2) able to support our existing and efficient smart home platform; and (3) able to provide smart functions on existing appliances without any major changes and modifications. For prototyping purposes, we design several electronic end-devices to represent: (1) humidity and temperature sensors, (2) remote power switch controller, and (3) ambient lamp (standard and colored) controller. All of them can be remotely controlled by using a smart-phone, anytime and from anywhere. Experimental results give us proofs that the designated end-devices can work properly to fulfill the research targets.

In this research, we design several prototypes of front end-devices for smart home applications, especially on mechanical aspect. We observed that there are several basic functions which can be explored and used to represent common mechanical home appliances. We use four representative mechanical functions: (1) solenoid is used for controlling door lock; (2) stepper motor is used for controlling the curtain; (3) DC motor is used as fan’s speed controller; and (4) servo motor is used as fan swinging controller. Target of this work is to propose end-device prototyping hardwares which can be applied directly without any major changes and modifications in smart home system. They need to cope several basic requirements, such as: data protocol, smart home platform, portability, user friendly, and low power. In accordance with our previous researches on data protocol and smart home platform, proposed designs can be deployed to comply them perfectly. We also design an application Graphical-User-Interface (GUI) in an Android smart phone as remote controller. Proposed designs can work properly and fulfill research target.

This paper will attempt to provide the preliminary study of a form of instructional media in Indonesia, especially for high school history X grade with Hindu-Buddhist heritage material that animation and interactively visualized with Augmented Reality. It is expected to make history more interesting. To obtain a comprehensive insight and awareness for the user because it is through the process of simulation, and visual information that can assist the process of internalization of interactive experiences, mental awareness, and emotional involvement of users in understanding the material history. Pada sisi lain tersedia spektrum yang sangat luas (sampai dengan ~300 THz) pada frekuensi cahaya tampak.  Teknologi LED dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai komunikasi, selain pencahayaan berdaya rendah juga mampu dikendalikan intensitasnya secara elektronik. Teknologi komunikasi ini disebut Visible Light Communication (VLC) yang merupakan teknologi masih sangat baru di dunia. Teknologi ini memiliki banyak keuntungan seperti tidak memiliki interferensi elektromagnetik (Green Communication).  Fitur ini menjadi penting terutama pada aplikasi yang sensitif terhadap interferensi Radio Frequency (RF), seperti rumah sakit, pesawat dan lain-lain. Sebagai platform komunikasi M2M dan IoT, VLC memiliki berbagai aplikasinya seperti Smart Homes, Smart Office, Remote Monitoring, Car to Car Communication, Digital Signage, Wireless Sensor Network dan lain-lain. Riset bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, mengimplementasikan, membuat prototype dan mengujikan sebuah modul yang mampu berkomunikasi menggunakan cahaya tampak.  Modul dapat digunakan sebagai perangkat komunikasi untuk berbagai modul-modul IoT. Penelitian ini mencakup perancangan lapis fisik (Physical layer) dengan menggunakan berbagai teknik modulasi, demodulasi, sinkronisasi, perangkat analog transceiver berbasis LED dan Photodetektor, error correction dan lain sebagainya.  Berbagai metoda komunikasi yang efektif dan efisien akan di evaluasi pada medium cahaya tampak tersebut. Selain itu juga akan dilakukan perancangan prototkol, layer kontrol dan network sehingga menjamin komunikasi dapat dilakukan ke internet. Metoda tersebut diimplementasikan secara hardware dan software dengan mempertimbangkan konerja dan fleksibelitas sistem. Perangkat keras dirancang dalam bentuk modul berbasis FPGA dan mikroprosesor. Kedepannya, hasil prototipe dapat dimplementasikan dengan teknologi Rangkaian Terkintegrasi (Integrated Circuits/IC).

Therefore, it is crucial to make concerted efforts to enhance children's literacy by implementing the reading aloud approach, which can positively influence their overall growth and development in the Rusunawa Ciseureuh Purwakarta community. The primary objective of this program is achieved through the utilization of the reading-aloud technique. Abstract Tool kit is one of learning media that have important role in engineering education, the author has been finished in developing tool kit with oscillator “LC circuit” topic. This oscillator can  generate a sinusoidal wave with constant frequency and amplitude. With this tool kit wish the student can develop their skill and applicated in electrical, electronic, communication circuits and systems area. In this paper, a proposed design, fabrication and testing of sine wave oscillator “LC” type (Hartley and Colpitts oscillator) has been performed using five approaches. The first approach proposed design is done theoretically using the basic theorems used to generate oscillations, such as the condition of oscillation criteria and determine the values of capacitor (C) and inductor (L) component, Secondly it is done using simulation technique (LTSpice IV), Thirdly the simulated design is implemented practically using IC OP-AMP 741 with passive elements such as resistors, capacitors and inductors by oscilloscope and frequency generator. Fourthly design the Hartley and colpitts tool kit by 2-D and 3-D, layouting the circuit by Eagle PCB design software then package into tool box which integrated each other. Finaly, the LC-oscillator tool kit was tested such as resistor, capasitor and inductor module and write the result into tables (for jobsheet data).

In this paper, a System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture for OFDM-based Visible Light Communication (VLC) is demonstrated. The VLC system is used only for downlink (one way communication). We developed the SoC on the Xilinx ZYNQ-7000 All Programmable SoC. In this research, we integrated the system by connecting IP cores to the ARM Cortex-A9 processor; hence the IP cores can be accessed from software running on the Linux operating system (Ubuntu 16.04 version). To evaluate our SoC architecture, we integrated the FPGA into the Analog Front-End (AFE) module. The results show that the average Bit Error Rate (BER) are as follows: 7.693 × 10−5, 1.495×10−3, and 6.578×10−3 for BPSK, QPSK, and QAM-16 modulations respectively.

One of the most important issue is the battery consumption. Hence, this research aims is to develop an Android based low-power mobile application for smart home. This application design covers multi-control scheme (i.e. hard-control, soft-control and monitoring). Humidity and temperature are parameters those are commonly implemented for monitoring tasks, including monitoring within an indoor environment such as a smart home. In this study, we design, develop, and demonstrate the performance of a portable sensor system for indoor environment, which is connected to the smartphone-based user interface for monitoring humidity and temperature. This sensor system consists several components those are packed into a single small box, namely: a Zigbee communication module, STM32L100 microcontroller, DHT11 temperature sensor, BL-5C rechargeable battery, and a charger circuit. The sensor system and the application are then tested to gauge the performance. Based on the test, the system is able to communicate with the smartphone through the host. In addition, based on 24-hour battery testing, the system requires less than 0.53958 watts to operate, thus achieving the low-cost target.

The system development starts by following tasks: 1) designing the hardware part of the device, 2) designing the operating system (OS), and 3) designing the main application as a GUI that uses to check the balance, top up, and make a payment. In this report, we perform the digital filter computation using Matlab for Wi-Fi tracking application. This work motivates to improve the accuracy of filter algorithm in the RSSI-based distance localization system. There are several aspects that we can improve, e.g., in the Filter part and Path-loss model. But, in this work, we focus on filter part; Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) is implemented to replace linear Kalman Filter (KF), which is used in previous work. Based on the performance comparison, UKF has 90% hit ratio while linear KF has only 81.15 % hit ratio. We found that UKF can handle the noise in RSSI. Further work, the UKF algorithm is then embedded on the server system.

Target penelitian ini berupa Artikel Ilmiah dengan produk berupa: (1) Media berupa buku IPS sejarah digital dengan animasi flash. (2) Modul Ajar digital untuk pegangan guru dan siswa. Dan (3) Manual Book tentang penggunaan media. Jenis penelitian adalah pengembangan, modelnya menggunakan langkah-langkah yang dikemukakan Sugiyono (2011: 298) yang dikolaborasikan dengan model pengembangan Pustekom Depdiknas. Produk ini layak dimanfaatkan apabila kevalidan diatas 75%. Validasi menggunakan metode angket dengan skala Likert dan diolah dengan teknik analisis rata-rata. Hasil analisis digunakan untuk menentukan kelayakan media. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat memenuhi kebutuhan siswa SMP kelas VII dalam membangkitkan motivasi belajar mata pelajaran IPS-Sejarah.

Begitupun juga dengan kegiatan-kegiatan kemahasiswaan yang tentu saja pada perubahan metode diskusi Mahasiswa yang aktif di Organisasi atau komunitas yang sebelumnya bertemu secara langsung diganti dengan online, dampak ini juga terasa bagi Mahasiswa LEPPIM Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia kampus Purwakarta. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas apa saja yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa pengurus LEPPIM UPI Purwakarta agar tetap produktif berkarya selama masa belajar mandiri di Rumah. Metode dilakukan dengan wawancara tertutup pada sebuah angket yang disusun pada Google Form yang kemudian disebar ke para pengurus LEPPIM UPI Purwakarta. Setiap pabrik di Indonesia ini mempunyai karakteristik yang berbeda-beda dalam hal sistem distribusi listrik. Listrik digunakan sebagai sumber energi untuk menggerakkan alat-alat produksi pabrik. PT Petrokimia Gresik merupakan perusahaan milik negara yang didirikan untuk mendukung program Pemerintah meningkatkan produksi pertanian nasional. Perusahaan ini mendapatkan tambahan pasokan listrik dari PLN sebesar 15 MW. Perusahaan ini juga memiliki 2 unit pembangkit tenaga listrik sendiri yang membutuhkan sumber bahan bakar dan kapasitas daya yang berbeda yaitu Gas turbine Generator (GTG) dengan kapasitas 33 MW dan Steam Turbine Generator (STG) dengan kapasitas 20 MW. Tujuan dari penulisan Artikel Ilmiah ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tentang sistem kelistrikan di Pabrik I PT. Petrokimia Gresik, batasan pada penulisan ini adalah Deskripsi Sistem Distribusi Listrik dan Jenis Distribusi. Laporan Praktek Industri terbagi menjadi dua bagian, bagian pertama adalah kajian umum secara deskriptif, sedangkan laporan II adalah tugas khusus. Artikel ini merupakan laporan I yang merupakan hasil dari Praktek Industri di pabrik I PT. Petrokimia Gresik yang telah dilakukan selama 3 bulan, yakni mulai 4 Juli – 31 Juli 2012. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan atikel ini adalah kajian pustaka.

Reviewer adalah orang yang sibuk, sama seperti dosen-dosen yang lain. Selain meneliti beliau juga aktif mengajar, menduduki jabatan tertentu di institusinya, mengisi workshop/seminar/forum-forum internasional, dll. Terduga bahwa untuk mereviu paper, dilakukan secara cepat dengan cara membaca dari judul kemudian secara urut dimulai dari daftar pustaka, kesimpulan dan terakhir abstrak. Kita telah tahu kondisi yang sebenarnya, maka perlu strategi khusus. Disampaikan oleh Prof. Mikrajuddin Abdullah dosen Fisika ITB dalam kegiatan workshop penulisan jurnal ilmiah di pascasarjana ITB (16/04/16) mengenai bagaimana mengawali menulis makalah ilmiah untuk publikasi internasional terindex. Darimanakah menulis paper? mulai hal yang paling mudah yakni dimulai dari: 1) material/metode, 2) hasil dan diskusi, 3) pendahuluan, 4) kesimpulan, 5) abstrak dan terakhir adalah judul. Bagian yang tak kalah penting adalah abstrak dan judul, pada bagian ini secara khusus saya reportase secara detail. 1. Abstrak adalah gambaran paper kita/ minipaper, jadi bukan sebuah formalitas saja. Berisi tentang metode yakni apa yang dilakukan, hasil dan diskusi berisi tentang apa yang dihasilkan cirinya adalah kata-kata " we report that…, we found that " dan seterusnya. Terakhir adalah penutup berisi tentang harapan/mimpi akan urgensi hasil dari paper kita yang menunjukkan adanya implikasi yang sangat penting. Ketiga hal tersebut wajib ada, sedangkan bagian pendahuluan boleh dimasukkan atau tidak. 2. Judul, banyak paper yang sebenarnya hebat namun tersembunyi (tidak tampak). Hal inilah yang kadang menjadikan reviewer tanpa fikir panjang menjustifikasi bahwa paper tersebut sama halnya penelitian lainnya (sudah banyak). Maka dari itu tampilkan secara boombastis dan lain dari yang lain. Misalnya judul 'pembuatan media pembelajaran X' bisa dibuat menarik dengan judul 'Low cost, user friendly media pembelajaran X '. Luangkan waktu yang lebih untuk menulis paper dan menerbitkannya di Jurnal Internasional terindex, karena waktu S2 atau S3 adalah yang paling tepat dan seharusnya paling produktif dalam range umur yang diberikan Tuhan kepada kita. Saat menjadi dosen nantinya waktu akan lebih sedikit karena selain beban mengajar, proyek penelitian juga terbentur hal-hal yang berbau administratif. Selanjutnya mengenai bagaimana cara menghindari plagiasi saat menulis makalah ilmiah dan tips-trik submit di jurnal internasional terindex telah disampaikan pada artikel lainnya.

Oleh: Syifaul Fuada Perlu diketahui sebelumnya, Goodreads merupakan jejaring sosial sama seperti facebook. Namun Goodreads ini lebih spesifik, yakni untuk mereka yang kutu buku / maniak buku. Disini juga disediakan berbagai fasilitas yang ditawarkan. Diantaranya adalah forum diskusi, disini kita dapat mengikuti topik tertentu misalnya review suatu buku, atau topik lain yang sedang hangat dan tentu saja tidak jauh-jauh dari dunia perbukuan, kita dapat tukar menukar informasi dari buku-buku yang sudah kita baca. Juga disediakan ebook yang dapat kita unduh gratis, namun umumnya buku-buku terbitan lama (sekitar 5 tahun yang lalu) yang mungkin sekarang sudah berhenti dicetak. Kita dapat menambah teman seperti di facebook, dengan cara add friend yang tentu saja adalah teman-teman yang seprofesi (maniak buku). Dan fasilitas yang tak kalah seru dan paling dicari adalah " Give Aways " , yakni sebuah undian buku gratis yang dikompetisikan kepada semua member yang men-join. Tapi perlu dicatat, rata-rata bukunya berbahasa inggris. Sangat sedikit sekali buku berbahasa indonesia. Bila kita menang undian, buku akan dikirim langsung oleh penulisnya dan kita wajib membaca, menelaah lalu kemudian menulis resensinya di akun goodreads. Setiap minggu selalu update buku-buku yang akan di undi, orang keren selalu lihat bukunya terlebih dahulu sebelum join. Tapi kalau saya mah, ikut semua . Untuk mengikuti undian buku caranya cukup mudah, tidak perlu menjawab kuis, tidak perlu menulis kata-kata mutiara atau puisi. Tinggal daftar dan klik-klik-klik lalu nunggu waktu undiannya. Syaratnya satu, yakni punya akun terlebih dahulu dan bila belum mempunyai harus register dulu. Ya kurang lebih seperti halnya Facebook, kita diminta isi data lengkap, mulai dari tanggal lahir, tempat tinggal sampai DP nya. Tapi bisa diprivasi, jadi tidak perlu khawatir tentang profil pribadi Bila sudah terdaftar maka akan dikirim email, lakukan verivikasi. Selain susahnya proses menulis, ketatnya reviwer juga anteran panjang dari paper-paper dari penulis mancanegara lainnya. Namun tidak perlu khawatir akan hal ini, ada beberapa tips dan trik unik yang patut dicoba. Disampaikan oleh Prof. Mikrajuddin Abdullah (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Mikrajuddin_Abdullah) dosen Fisika ITB dalam kegiatan Lokakarya Penulisan Jurnal Ilmiah untuk publikasi jurnal internasional bagi mahasiswa pascasarjana yang diselenggarakan oleh Sekolah Pascasarjana bertempat di Gedung Annex Lt. III SPS ITB (16/04/16). Kegiatan tahunan ini bertujuan untuk mendukung peningkatan jumlah karya ilmiah ITB dan memberikan pengetahuan kiat-kiat publikasi hasil riset. Tips dan trik ini dibocorkan oleh beliau yang mungkin tidak semua akademisi tahu. Hal-hal dibawah ini memang diluar teknis, yakni sebuah factor X yang sangat mempengaruhi kondisi 'psikologis', namun tidak berlaku secara umum.  Carilah seseorang pakar dibidangnya dari paper yang telah kita tulis, selanjutnya hubungi beliau via email untuk memohon agar bersedia memberikan masukan-masukan dari paper kita, selanjutnya tulis nama beliau di ucapan terimakasih (acknowledgement). Mungkin reviewer akan merasa bahwa paper ini sudah dibaca oleh orang yang memang dipakarnya.  Di jurnal tertentu ketika kita melakukan submisi makalah, akan ada permintaan dari jurnal yang bersangkutan terkait usulan reviewer dari kita sendiri. Nah, kita dapat mengambil kesempatan itu dengan mengusulkan calon eviewer dari salah satu penulis makalah yang kita rujuk. Cari tahu tentang beliau dan cari email-nya beserta institusinya. Tentu akan berbeda apabila reviwer mengkoreksi paper yang merujuk tulisannya dan yang tidak sama sekali. Karena pada dasarnya mereka juga perlu sebuah pengakuan, semakin banyak merujuk papernya maka reputasi semakin naik (dibuktikan dengan h-index).  Rujuk salah satu paper yang terdapat dalam jurnal tersebut, minimal satu atau dua. Tentu editor akan berfikir panjang untuk menolak meskipun dari reviwer terdapat major revision yang mungkin menyarakan untuk di reject. Karena semakin banyak jurnal tersebut dirujuk maka reputasi jurnal semakin bagus, paper kita menyediakan fasilitas itu.  Tips yang lain yang mungkin sudah banyak orang yang tahu adalah saat melakukan submisi, target jurnal dengan impact factor yang tinggi dengan alasan untuk ditolak dan mendapatkan masukan-masukan pedas dari reviewer (mendapatkan saran-saran secara gratis itu bukan hal yang gampang), hal tersebut akan sangat berguna untuk

Kita membicarakan 'plagiasi' baru bebarapa tahun ini seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi informasi. Duplikasi karya tulis ilmiah sangat mudah terdeteksi namun masih banyak praktik-praktiknya belakangan ini. Didunia akademik, plagiasi merupakan tindak kejahatan serius yang memiliki level-level tertentu dan lengkap dengan hukumannya/ sanksi. Bahkan sampai-sampai gelar akademik kita dicopot atau di drop out dari lingkungan kampus apabila diketahui plagiat karya orang lain baik memang kita sengaja atau tidak sengaja melakukannya. Maka dari itu sebagai akademisi harus sangat berhati-hati agar terhindar dari perbuatan tidak baik ini. Isu hangat ini dibahas secara detail dalam kegiatan Lokakarya Penulisan Jurnal Ilmiah untuk publikasi jurnal internasional bagi mahasiswa pascasarjana yang diselenggarakan oleh Sekolah Pascasarjana bertempat di Gedung Annex Lt. III SPS ITB (16/04/16). Kegiatan tahunan ini bertujuan untuk mendukung peningkatan jumlah karya ilmiah dan upaya pencegahan plagiarism di lingkungan akademik ITB. Saat menulis paper Bahasa inggris memang menjadi momok utama yang menakutkan, tapi harus mampu menaklukkannya karena syarat utama jurnal internasional adalah English. Disampaikan oleh Prof. Mikrajuddin Abdullah dengan topic " writing a paper for journal publication " bahwa kita dapat memanfaatkan fasilitas google translate sekaligus menghindari plagiasi. Tool tersebut sangat berguna untuk membangun tata bahasa, selanjutnya kita harus mengecek ulang apakah yang digunakan benar. Salah satu kelebihan tool ini adalah tidak pernah salah ejaan. Banyak paper yang mendapati major revision karena hanya sepele, salah ketik sehingga paragraf kacau. Caranya adalah sebagai berikut: 1. Copy kalimat dari makalah orang lain. 2. Terjemahkan kedalam hbahasa Indonesia dengan google translate. 3. Modivikasi dengan kalimat bahasa Indonesia yang diperoleh namun dengan maksud dan makna yang sama, ingat tata bahasa Indonesia harus baik dan benar. 4. Terjemahkan balik hasil modivikasi, gunakan kalimat-kalimat pendek. Hindari copy paste satu kalimat penuh bahkan satu paragraph. 5. Koreksi bahasa inggris 6. Copy-paste hasil final kedalam paper kita dan jangan lupa untuk merefer paper sebelumnya. 7. Gunakan software tertentu untuk mengecek apakah tulisan kita tadi sama dengan berbagai tulisan yang di cover oleh google.
