WebGL

As the development and mature of web game, more and more companies start to focus on developing web
game. This is a great market. Many popular applications have been developed by applying some new web
technologies. But web game still has many problems because of its content, experience effect and
operation. In order to meet the increasingly huge demand of web game system, this paper mainly discusses
how to improve the experience effect of web game players and optimize system architecture, database and
cache by applying HTML5 technology. The final goal is to make web game operate faster and more stably,
and extend to other platforms, such as mobile internet robots.

Özet: Etkileşimli olarak çalışma fırsatı sunan görsel iletişim araçları, bilgi teknolojilerindeki yaşanan yeniliklerle birlikte daha da önemli hale gelmiştir. WebGL teknolojisi, sağlık alanında görüntüleme ve bilgi aktarımı süreçleri için farklı uygulama tekniklerinin ortaya çıkmasını sağlayan, ilgili yeniliklerden biridir. Bu teknoloji sağlık alanına, fiziki mekânın sınırlılıklarından bağımsız hareket sahası ve alternatif çözümler sunmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, bu teknolojinin güncellediği alanları ve ilgili kullanım yöntemleri hakkında bilgi sunmaktır. Çalışmada, WebGL'in kabiliyetleri, sağlık alanındaki mevcut örnekleri araştırabilmek adına alanyazın taraması yöntemi üzerinden incelenmiştir. Çalışma, WebGL teknolojisinin 3 boyutlu sanal ortam bağlantıları ve sağlık endüstrisindeki uygulanabilir eğitim ve arşivleme örnek kullanımları ile sınırlandırılmıştır.

Abstract: Visual communication tools which offer the opportunity to work interactively, have become even more important with the innovations in information technologies. WebGL technology is one of these related innovations that provides the emergence of different application techniques for imaging and information transfer processes in the field of health. This technology offers a movement area and alternative solutions to the field of health, without the limitations of physical location. The aim of the study is to provide information about the areas updated by this technology and its related usage methods. In the study, capabilities of WebGL were examined through the literature review method for exploration of available examples in the field of health. The study is limited to the 3D virtual environment connections of WebGL technology and the applicable training and archiving example used in the health industry.

—Computer Graphics has been the advent of our latest technology over the last few decades. In this paper WebGL framework has been used to create a 3D Virtual Tour of the University of Mauritius for the web. A Virtual Tour is designed to provide viewers with a more lifelike 3D view of an existing location using advanced simulation techniques. Creating, loading and manipulating of 3D objects were from SketchUp tool. After the 3D models were built, they were converted into the WebGL format. This was achieved through the use of an exporter of 3D objects file. Moreover, it was tested especially for loading simple, average and complex objects with and without texture. The system has the capability to support multi-users navigation through the virtual environments.

MVC stands for model view controller. This software design pattern creates applications in a modular design separating the tasks into three separate programming modules or areas. The idea has existed historically for decades and according to Wikipedia model-view-controller was introduced in the 1970’s at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. MVC can be used in desktop applications, web development projects and in embedded software applications as well.

Although a software engineer could use a similar approach in almost any object oriented programming language for both desktop applications and web applications, it is in recent years that MVC is becoming popular for web applications.

Whether it is laser scanning, structured-light 3D scanning or photogrammetry, high density survey technologies produce point clouds (PCL) as a basic digital output. In recent years, the industry has seen a tenfold increase in PCL’s density: datasets with hundreds of millions of points are not rare.
In this regard, we investigate the possibility that PCL’s have become so massive that they are now a viable visualization medium by themselves and should be more often used as a complement to 3D models. As we know, rendering performances are critical for both online visualization and head-mounted display (HMD) applications. Subsequently, the fact that PCL’s visualization efficiency scales up with data volume and precision also brings new research perspective.
On one hand, that benefit allows us to make complex scenes available online through a browser, through the open source PCL viewer Potree for example. It proves to be an invaluable medium for interpretation, one that collaborators can easily access remotely, in order to interact with a comprehensive 3D record of an archaeological site and its context.
On the other hand, HMD’s enable a previously unseen immersion for a smooth and comfortable multi-scalar visualization by means of rendering improvement introduced by Nvidia’s Applied Engineering Department.

En la parroquia rural Atahualpa se encuentra un apogeo turístico, es por ello que mediante herramientas tecnológicas vigentes se proyecta el desarrollo de un recorrido virtual que apoye este crecimiento, pues hasta la actualidad aún no se ha desarrollado en la locación este tipo de técnicas que permitan alcanzar un público más moderno y tecnológico. El parque de Atahualpa es una de las partes más representativas de la parroquia, de manera que un modelado 3D del mismo significa una oportunidad para fomentar el turismo de manera virtual, siendo publicado en plataformas digitales en dónde las personas puedan identificarla con regularidad. Para su proceso se utilizará bibliotecas de gráficos de alto nivel como Three.js correspondiente a WebGL, además de un estudio técnico acerca de recorridos virtuales y algunos ejemplos de su implementación en algunos lugares muy recurridos. INTRODUCCIÓN Como lo menciona Isidro Alcívar Vera en el 2018, el turismo se ha ido convirtiendo en un fenómeno muy significativo para la economía ecuatoriana [1] y este ha ido alcanzando varios métodos de trascendencia, inclusive con el avance de la tecnología ha pasado a sistemas virtuales, transfiriéndose la información a través de Internet, pues actualmente es el medio de comunicación más utilizado por su alcance. Sin embargo, a pesar de los avances que este representa a nivel nacional, en la parroquia Atahualpa aún no se ha considerado necesaria la implementación tecnológica que se dirija a un público más evolucionado, como la creación de un modelado 3D que permita un recorrido virtual del área. La Parroquia Atahualpa se encuentra ubicada en el sector norcentral de la provincia de Pichincha y del distrito metropolitano de Quito, limitando al norte con Otavalo (Imbabura) y al sur con el cantón Pedro Moncayo. Este lugar alcanza una extensión de 71 kilómetros cuadrados y se encuentra distribuida en 13 barrios. Antiguamente recibía el nombre de Habaspamba (planicie de habas) hasta su parroquialización en 1984, su nombre actual se debe al inca quiteño Atahualpa [2]. En esta localidad se cuenta con algunos atractivos turísticos tales como: el bosque protector Mojanda Grande, la iglesia parroquia Atahualpa, el camposanto, cascadas y lagunas de Mojanda, balnearios y aguas termales; además de las festividades locales de la misma [3]. Su iglesia y cementerio son muy nombrados ya que se basan en la historia de su gente, la primera dicta que para el año de 1875 se sufrió una epidemia que azotó al poblado de Perucho 1 , obligando a la gente a fundar Atahualpa, para lo cual se construyó una capilla provisional pequeña y únicamente de madera, donde hoy en día se puede encontrar el templo edificado, el cual se levantó con la colaboración de la misma comunidad; de manera similar a una distancia cercana se encuentra el camposanto que cuenta con un diseño muy particular, incentivando a los turistas a transitarlo[4], además de que también cuenta con su propio relato 2. La parroquia está llena de historias, mitos y leyendas sobre todo en el aspecto religioso y así su identidad ha sido valorada tanto por sus habitantes como por las personas que ya han tenido la satisfacción de conocerla, en especial extranjeros que aprecian la vida de campo y la armonía con la naturaleza. Debido a esto, el gobierno autónomo descentralizado de la parroquia ha designado una comisión de turismo y ambiente, con el fin de impulsar este fenómeno social beneficiando al desarrollo económico del sitio. Los proyectos actuales se encuentran en marcha y con ellos se ha incrementado notablemente un pequeño avance, pues ya se han efectuado tours completos que ofrecen al público paquetes turísticos a precios adquiribles, unificando todos los servicios necesarios como: transporte, comida, hospedaje y recorridos con personal capacitado, incluyendo cabalgatas y campamentos, si así se desea. Esto ya ha marcado una diferencia, pues actualmente existen más personas que conocen o han escuchado hablar del lugar. Un modelado 3D de este sector incrementaría su progreso de manera digital, pues se debe recordar que la utilización de modelos virtuales ha evolucionado apresuradamente, sobre todo cuando se trata de proyectos arquitectónicos, estos inclusive ya han cubierto grandes detalles como luces, texturas de materiales y un realismo impresionante, todo dependiendo de la complejidad con la que se desea trabajar [5]. Existen diversos motores de desarrollo de gráficos, pero este proyecto está solventado en WebGL, una API de entorno web que implementa OpenGL, admitiendo la renderización de gráficos 3D en cualquier navegador web. 3D Laser scanner are very fast acquisition systems, but the huge amount of data collected demands processing optimization and automation.
Segmentation is an essential step in the production chain of point clouds processing. It defines the pertinence and accuracy of a future model reconstruction, as well as a high level analysis of any scene.
Its goal is to extract from a large 3D dataset different groups of points that share a logical link to wisely consider them as one entity. The semi-automatic method developed extract shapes for an archeological study on medieval construction out of a point cloud acquired with a 3D Scanner laser, representing the cathedral Saint-Paul of Liège (Belgium).
We obtain a segmented point cloud that represents elegantly the scene and make it a base for a worthy analysis and reconstruction. The development of a virtual reality application through a WebGL development to promote cultural heritage transcend what exist nowadays, and become a new way of transmitting history to future generations.

Semantic web is emerging as a core discipline in the field of Computer Science & Engineering from distributed computing, web engineering, databases, social networks, Multimedia, information systems, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, soft computing, and human-computer interaction. The adoption of standards like XML, Resource Description Framework and Web Ontology Language serve as foundation technologies to advancing the adoption of semantic technologies.

Recently, the diffusion of knowledge on Cultural Heritage (CH) has become an element of primary importance for its valorization. At the same time, the diffusion of surveys based on UAV Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) technologies and new methods of photogrammetric reconstruction have opened new possibilities for 3D CH representation. Furthermore the recent development of faster and more stable internet connections leads people to increase the use of mobile devices. In the light of all this, the importance of the development of Virtual Reality (VR) environments applied to CH is strategic for the diffusion of knowledge in a smart solution. In particular, the present work shows how, starting from a basic survey and the further photogrammetric reconstruction of a cultural good, is possible to built a 3D CH interactive information system useful for desktop and mobile devices. For this experimentation the Arab-Norman church of the Trinity of Delia (in Castelvetrano-Sicily-Italy) has been adopted as case study. The survey operations have been carried out considering different rapid methods of acquisition (UAV camera, SLR camera and smartphone camera). The web platform to publish the 3D information has been built using HTML5 markup language and WebGL JavaScript libraries (Three.js libraries). This work presents the construction of a 3D navigation system for a web-browsing of a virtual CH environment, with the integration of first person controls and 3D popup links. This contribution adds a further step to enrich the possibilities of open-source technologies applied to the world of CH valorization on web.

Higher education institutions are adopting innovative solutions and tools to enhance their educational outcomes and attract more learners. Social network websites (SNSs) are example about such technologies, which attracted the attention of instructors as well as students. This research aims to understand the students' perceptions regarding using Social networking websites within their learning process. Also, to understand if student gender and nationality has influence on using SNSs. Data had been collected using an electronic questionnaire distributed among undergraduate students of two well-known universities'; Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University which is located in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia and the second one is University of Jordan which is located in Amman-Jordan. Statistical analysis had been applied to the collected data. The results shows difference between students answers when it's been compared on country basis.

Introducing graphics applications and techniques
to the Web introduces technological challenges not present in
traditional graphics. The shortage of library tools to support Web graphics application development poses a particular problem, as well as, designing and maintaining Web applications. To investigate these problems i write this paper to look into modern technologies for modeling and designing the web which addresses the specific issues related to design and development of large-scale Web applications. Additionally i analyze plugins which focus on the design notations and visual languages that can be used for the realization of well-structured, usable and maintainable Web applications.

Deteksi wajah atau yang biasa di kenal dengan sebutan face recognition adalah metode komputerisasi yang dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi wajah manusia dari gambar digital atau frame video. Teknologi ini memindai gambar tersebut, dan mencari apakah di sana ditemukan struktur dan kontur wajah manusia yang terdiri dari sepasang mata, satu hidung, satu bibir, serta sepasang pipi dan rahang. Beberapa bentuk persamaan telah di ditawarkan untuk menangani proses artificial pengenalan wajah ini, diantaranya adalah metode persamaan Constraint Local Models (CLM). CLM merupakan pemodelan matematika dengan dasar pendekatan dari metode regularized landmark mean-shift, seperti yang telah di jelaskan pada paper Jason M. Saragih yang berjudul Deformable Model Fitting by Regularized Landmark Mean-Shift. Metode ini berprinsip pada eksperimen numerik, dengan melakukan pendekatan yang seksama dalam prosesnya, metode ini terbukti dapat mengungguli beberapa metode yang ada pada umumnya untuk melakukan serangkaian tugas memindai wajah secara generik.

Un shader se define como una unidad de programa escrita en un lenguaje de sombreado para la GPU, con la finalidad de producir imágenes (render). Actualmente, existen herramientas y tecnologías Web que realizan el despliegue de este contenido en navegadores basados en HTML5. Por ello, se ha impulsado el desarrollo de soluciones que apoyan la implementación de programas de shaders para el lenguaje GLSL, parte del estándar OpenGL. Sin embargo, de acuerdo a nuestra investigación, no existen aplicaciones Web disponibles con un criterio unificado y con todos los elementos fundamentales para realizar un proceso completo de su desarrollo. En este trabajo se presenta una solución llamada Shader Tool que contiene un conjunto de herramientas que incorporan y enlazan todos los elementos requeridos para el desarrollo de shaders. Esta una herramienta que emplea plantillas, gráficos 3D, interactividad y tecnología de sincronización para la implementación de código GLSL. Nuestras pruebas determinaron la eficacia en rendimiento de nuestra solución, y recopilaron las experiencias de los usuarios de la aplicación en términos de utilidad, facilidad de uso y resultados obtenidos. Así, se muestra la eficiencia de la solución como un ambiente integrado completo para el desarrollo de shaders en la Web.

Weather forecast has been playing an important role preventing loss of life and goods due calamity and destruction caused by flood and storms. However, the tools for data visualization of Weather Radar are bidimensional, that means, they provide visualization only in a planar way. Besides, these tools need installation and several times, they are developed for specific Operational Systems. This work presents Three-dimensional Viewer of Weather Radar Data using WebGL. The tool presented allows visualize up-to-date data collected from atmosphere by the Weather Radar in a tridimensional view, allowing view the structures of clouds and rains,by the Reflectivity measured by the Weather Radar. Using WebGL, the view can be done without any installation of programs or plugins, only a Internet browser compatible as is Google or Mozilla Firefox. Despite the fact that WebGL does not have a camera, it allows Chrome the development of functions in JavaScript that make possible implementation of mechanisms for navigation inside the data renderized. In addition, the profissional can navigate inside the data volume allowing a better analysis with more details for some weather event that one wants to verify using the camera controls. The experiments done were tests with thirteen sweeps for a specific date and time separately, displaying only one sweep per time in each test. Also, was done other experiment with same data and time with all data of the thirteen sweeps forming 3D Volume. The viewer had good performance, including camera movements. The filter tool was used to remove some data, allowing visualization for specific data. Based in the testimonies collected, the viewer has good potential to be used both in Operational Environment as well in an Research Environment. As conclusion, the tool proposed in this work has good performance for the operational environment for short-range forecast (Nowcast) and for the research environment allowing 3D Visualization, understanding and analysis of weather phenomena, using
tecnology ready to the Internet, without installation of software, package or plugins.

Accessibility is a fundamental aspect in transportation, routing, and spare-time activity planning concerning traveling in modern cities. In this context, interactive web-based accessibility-map visualization techniques and systems are important tools for provisioning, exploration, analysis, and assessment of multi-modal and location-based travel time data and routing information. To enable their effective application, such interactive visualization techniques demands for flexible mappings with respect to user-adjustable parameters such as maximum travel times, the types of transportation used, or used color schemes. However, traditional approaches for web-based visualization of accessibility-maps do not allow this degree of parametrization without significant latencies introduced by required data processing and transmission between the routing server and the visualization client. This paper presents a novel web-based visualization technique that allows for efficient client-side mapping and rendering of accessibility data onto transportation networks using WebGL and the OpenGL transmission format. A performance evaluation and comparison shows the superior performance of the approach over alternative implementations.

Web services are playing dominant role on Internet for e-business. The compositions of these services are used to meet business objectives. The web service choreography describes the external observable behavior of these compositions. Many compositions may available for same functionality. These compositions cannot be distinguished on the basis of functional properties. This Quality of services (QoS) may help the user to select web services and to analyze composition of the web services. Web service choreography is going to dictate implementation of workflow. This workflow consists of several tasks. Each task is implemented by web services. These services are hosted in large numbers by different service providers on different service clusters. The mapping of service and task is difficult issue in run time environment. The interoperability between services is also a great problem. The selection of services is very big issue. In this paper we have proposed a bio-inspired selection algorithm based on dominant role and proposed a discovery infrastructure. We have also used the client behavior to improve the failure of the composition of the service. INDEX TERMS

During the last years, many solutions have been proposed for 3D Virtual Heritage representations. Recently, also new technologies for online gaming evolved, based on javascript libraries (WebGL), used to create and publish virtual interactive environments. They are based on recent Web browser's functionalities, surpassing some limitations of VRML technologies. On the side of geospatial information, technology has evolved from desktop GIS to 2D WebGIS and globe applications. The use of globe applications is, today, very diffused due to its immediate and at the same time impressive representation of the earth surface and territories. These technologies have been, also, applied to Virtual Heritage 3D reconstructions, to improve the fruition of Cultural Heritage (CH), with the achievement of interesting results. The topic of this paper is the experimentation on the fusion between globe based and gaming technologies (in our case WebGL) that allow achieving a more user-centric and powerful solution useful for publishing 3D geospatial information of CH on Web. This choice allows obtaining GIS oriented 3D models, typical of globe applications, and, at the same time, a more immersive exploration of CH and its surrounding environment. In particular, it also gives complementary text and multimedia information on the history, architectural features of each cultural good, based on querying of semantic information. The test field of the research is the construction of the 3D GIS virtual globe model of the Manfredonic Castle of Mussomeli (Sicily-Italy), developed for PON-NEPTIS EU Project, to compare open-source technologies and commercial proprietary applications.

This thesis presents a novel visualization technique and web-based method for network-based reachability analysis. The challenge is to enable a broad range of easily accessible tools for displaying both generalized polygonal maps and complete, highly detailed transportation network infrastructures for web clients and mobile devices. The main problems associated with this task are: (1) the transmission of massive geodata sets, (2) the mapping and rendering of unfiltered and non-generalized networks in real-time, and (3) dynamic user interaction, stylization, and parameterization.

To undertake this challenge, a web-mapping framework is extended via a Web Graphics Library (WebGL) enabled renderer that receives data in the Graphics Library Transmission Format (glTF). The geodata are processed using a specialized backend server and packed in binary buffer objects that are passed directly to the rendering stage of a frontend client. The display of massive transportation networks is enabled by utilizing the Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) of the client’s device. The binary glTF greatly reduces the transmission bandwidth required, and it is directly readable by the GPU without requiring costly client-side mapping computation. Dynamic stylization is enabled in fragment shaders per user defined parameters.

This study includes a full technical specification of the backend services, required geographic projections, transmission format specifics, and client renderer details. A proof-of-concept application shows the feasibility of the proposed approach and allows for evaluation and comparison with existing techniques. A collaboration with a local startup provided insight into viable use cases for the technique. The present prototype is the first web-based tool of its kind to render complete, unfiltered transportation networks. The technique, however, is universally adaptable to any geographic network and is not limited to networks; i.e., it is potentially operable for points or polygonal features with slight modifications.

Geoinformation im Internet ist durch hohe Diversifizierung geprägt: viele unterschiedliche Formate und Systeme, viele Angebote, aus dem öffentlichen, kommerziellen und freien Umfeld. Die Interoperabilität der Dienste und der durch sie bereitgestellten Daten gewinnt besondere Bedeutung.

In diesem Beitrag wird mit OpenLayers ein frei verfügbarer Mapping-Client vorgestellt, dessen Schwerpunkt explizit auf der Integration unterschiedlicher Dienste und Formate liegt. Die organisatorischen Rahmenbedingungen dieses Open-Source-Projekts können als exemplarisch für erfolgreiche Projekte dieses Typs gelten. Verschiedene Dienste und Formate werden vorgestellt. Es wird gezeigt, in welcher Weise diese Daten in einem modernen Map Browser geladen und visualisiert werden können. Die Tendenz zeigt das (Zusammen-) Wachsen von freien Daten und freien Programmen.

CSS3 animation is another tool developers have for website gamification. When used sparingly they can call attention or add interest to otherwise boring elements on a web page. And you can use these for more than buttons. Most of this CSS animation can be applied to any element on a web page.

This paper focuses on manners of filling the gaps in existing standards
that are used in tridimensionalWeb technologies.We proposed the way of encoding huge 3D data sets in lossless PNG format and use of programmable rendering pipeline to decoding PNG file. It allows to reduce significantly the file with 3D data, time of transmission via Web and time needed to decode the file.
