Appendix II : Test methods
Test conditions
- Ambient temperature of 20±15℃ and relative humidity of 65±20%
- Connector or Connector mates with vehicle inlet
Test items and methods are shown in Table C.
10 SPEC.№SEVS14-004D
11 Retention force In normal mating condition, apply 753±1 N×60s axially of
-
(Axial force) withdrawal direction.
12 Retention force In normal mating condition, apply 20±1Nm×60s to X & Y
-
(Torque) axis direction when connector mating axis is as Z axis.
13 Cable retention force In connector fixed condition, apply 753±1 N×120s to
-
cable out direction from connector.
14 Terminal pull test Install terminal which is compressed or indented, into test
device, and pull the wire in axial direction. Measure load -
when cable is broken apart, or pulled out of terminal.
15 Polarization integrity Mating with incorrect direction, while connector is rotated
test by 90°and 180° from the normal position, apply 180N to -
connector in axial direction.
16 Drop test Drop connector with 2250mm length cable from 1m or
(1.5m: Recommended 1.5m height to concrete floor 8times.
-
item) When there is no problem in the case of 1.5m height, the
case of 1m height may be omitted.
17 Crush test Interpose the connector which is placed naturally with
-
steel plate, apply 890N×1min to the plate.
18 Vehicle drive over test Roll over the connector which is placed naturally on
-
concrete floor with the wheel of 2t vehicle.
19 No-load endurance Connector shall be made insertions/withdrawals
insertions/ 10,000times. Connector is dipped within 5seconds one by
withdrawals test one side in mud salt water to 1,000times each, and dried.
『Mud salt water』 -
Mud: Arizona’s sand (ISO12103-A4)
Salt: Sodium chloride Water: Distilled water
Mud, Salt is 5% by volume each.
20 IP degrees for ingress Water spray test is done with IP46(mating with inlet) and
of objects with mating IP54(with rubber cap) condition.
-
condition When there is no problem in high-pressure washing test,
this test may be omitted.
21 High-pressure Mate connector to vehicle inlet which is fixed in the same
washing way as fixed actual vehicle.
(Recommended item) In spray test chamber,
- heat at 80 ± 3℃x 1 hour
-
- then, spray room temperature water for 30s, from four
directions of up, down, left and right 45 degrees of the
mating vertical surface; water pressure: 9.8 MPa, flow
rate: 14~16 L/min, nozzle distance: 150mm.
22 Dew point test Leave connector in thermostatic chamber (5±2℃) for
4hours. Then put connector into humidity thermostatic -
chamber (humidity:93±2%, temp.: 32±2℃) within 1min.
11 SPEC.№SEVS14-004D
23 High temperature Leave connector in thermostatic chamber
