CBT Definition
Competency-based Training is based on curriculum
developed from ‘Competency Standards’ defined by
the Industry.
Based on a system by which the student/trainee is
trained on the basis of demonstrated ability rather
than on that of elapsed time
Assessment is based on collection of evidence of the
performance of work according to the industry
required standards.
Training Programmes are registered under the
Unified TVET Programme Registration and
Accreditation System.

Wireless Network
• A Wireless Network, or
commonly called as WLAN or
Wi-Fi uses radio signal
frequency to connect
computers and other network
devices. This is based on the
IEEE 802.11 standards rules
and regulations.
What are the benefits of a Wireless
Network?
• Flexibility. With no wires you can
easily access your network
resources from any location.
• Cost. It reduces the cost of
installation and labor.
• Security. The wireless network
uses a wireless router which has
security features to encrypt your
network traffic.
What is a Wireless Router?
• It is a device that performs
like a wired router without
using cable to connect to a
network.
• How to Install a Wireless Router?
1. Make sure that the computer, modem
and wireless router are disconnected
from the power outlet.
2. Connect one end of the network cable
into the Ethernet port of the modem,
and the other end into the WAN or
Internet port of the wireless router.
• Reconnect to the power outlet and turn on
your computer, modem and wireless router.
• To check if the network cable is
properly connected, the WAN or
Internet port LED indicator of the
wireless router should turn green.
Otherwise, check if the network
cable is properly inserted.
• You may then proceed to configure
your wireless router. To do this, please
refer to the User's Manual on how to
configure your wireless router or follow
these instructions.
• Connect one end of networking cable
to the Ethernet port of the router and
connect the other end to the LAN
adapter of a computer.
• Access the router configuration
panel through a web browser and
on the URL tab type the IP
address 192.168.0.1.
• Note: This IP address is intended
for TP Link routers.
• On the log in menu, enter the default
username “admin” and the default password
“admin”.
• Change the default Wireless Network name
to your last name Ex. BRIONES FAMILY then
Click Save
• After changing and saving the Wireless
Network name, it’s time to change the
default password by clicking the Wireless
Security tab.
• Once the Wireless Security tab was clicked,
another panel will appear. Change the
Wireless Password ex. brionesnilop then click
Save
• Once the configuration was changed and saved,
the device is required to reboot. Click the System
Tools Tab on the lower part of the panel and click
Reboot
• After the router configuration, disconnect the
networking cable attached to the laptop and
connect the cable from ISP to Router’s WAN port.
• to Router’s WAN port
• Search for the wireless network through
notification area. Connect the laptop from wireless
network named GALANGUE FAMILY, type in the
WEP password SHERODGE17 then click connect.
