The document summarizes key concepts about functions and lines. It defines a function as a rule that assigns unique output values to inputs. Functions can be represented graphically by plotting the points (x, f(x)). Lines on a plane can be defined by two points and have a slope that represents the rise over run. The slope formula is used to find the equation of a line in y=mx+b form, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Perpendicular and parallel lines have specific relationships between their slopes.
This course syllabus outlines the topics, schedule, and requirements for a graduate level Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering course. 2. Andrew
I have 5 brothers and 1 sister. Andrew is the
3rd oldest of my brothers. He is 7 years old
and he goes to Northwest Elementary
school. He is probably the most annoying
too. Andrew loves to watch Super Hero
Squad and he loves the Hulk. For Christmas
I bought him Hulk smash hands with my
own money and he loved them. Now he
annoys me a lot less than before because of
it. Andrew is usually helpful when it comes
to dealing with my younger brothers, he is
always agreeing with me on certain things
involving their behavior and he things I am
really funny.
3. Basketball
I am the only one in my
household family that likes basketball,
which makes me wonder why I like it so
much. Every Friday me and my dad flip a
coin to see who gets the remote and I
usually win . He helped me turn my
basement into a mini basketball court
since we barley use it. On the weekends I
sometimes go to one of the parks in
Worcester and play with my step brother.
My favorite basketball team is the Boston
Celtics and my favorite player is Rajon
Rondo. I am hoping to get tickets to one of
their games.
4. Canobie Lake Park
Every year my family
and I go to Canobie Lake Park .
The first time I went was when I
was 8 and I went twice in one
summer. Once with my mom,
dad, and my brothers and when
we got back my aunts called to
ask if I wanted to go with them
the following week. So I went
twice and we decided to make it
a family thing. The second time I
went I almost fainted on the
Skater ride. Last year we couldn’t
go for some reason but, this year
we are going to try to go three
times.
5. Dental School
When I grow up I want
to be a Dentist. The dental school I
want to go to is Tufts University Of
Dental Medicine (TUSDM) in
Boston. Being in the medical
business runs in the family. My
cousin and were thinking of going
to the same school and working
together. She wants to be an
orthodontist . “Tufts offers one of
the most forward-looking
educational environments in dental
medicine in the country.”
My Mom is supporting me but my
dad wants me to be a lawyer. She
said she is going to help pay for
dental school.
6. Entertainment
I think my life would be
extremely boring without
entertainment . I watch way to much
TV and my mom knows it too. I once
finished one season in a day . Anyway
I have a lot of favorite TV shows,
Movies, and Music Artist. My favorite
shows are the Walking dead , Pretty
Little Liars, How I Met Your Mother
and Doctor Who. My favorite Movies
are Pitch Perfect, Twilight : Eclipse
and The Amazing Spiderman. My
favorite Artist are Nicki Minaj, Justin
Bieber and Maroon 5.
7. I have a big family.
My Grandma had 5 girls and no
boys. My mom had 4 children
and I have two dads . One of Family
them had 3 children and I have
more than 11 cousins. 3 girls
and 8 boys. All of a sudden my
aunts are starting to have
baby’s and they are all starting
to be boys. The last girls born
was Abena she is 4 and this is
when my aunts started having
boys. When we get together
Abena and I usually hanging
out with the boys rather than
the girls because we are the
youngest.
8. Gabe
Gabe is my youngest brother. He just turned 2 on December 22nd . Gabe is
very smart and funny for a 2 year old. He likes to talk on the phone with my parents
and cries when he knows that no one is talking to him. He likes to play with the ipad
and go on YouTube to listen to ABC songs. I think Gabe likes me the most because he
waits in front of the door for me everyday when I come home from school and he
plays with me instead of my other brothers.
9. K-Mart
About 3 years ago an Incident happened at Kmart involving my dad and
I. We were just going Christmas shopping in Milford for my mom and that’s when
it everything got out of hand. My dad purposely got pushed by some guy and
then he accidently knocked over all of the glass candle holders on the shelf and
they were broken. Then one of the workers came of and started to yell really
loud. So my dad and the worker where arguing for about 2 minutes and after this
the manager came out and said that he had to pay for the mess he made. My dad
said it wasn’t his fault and pointed to the guy That pushed him. The guy started
to run away and my dad and I walked away quietly while they were chasing the
other guy.
10. Lying Game
The Lying game is one of
my favorite books and shows
written by my favorite author Sara
Shepard. The Lying game is about
two twin sisters named Sutton and
Emma who are looking for their
mom. Sutton is vindictive and rich.
Emma is poor and kind. They were
separated at birth but they found
each other and didn’t tell anyone.
While Sutton goes to find their mom
she asks Emma to take her place
and Everything goes wrong when
Sutton’s family and friends like
Emma better than her. I read half of
the books and seen all the episodes
so far.
11. Before I moved here I use
Milford
to live in Milford. Milford is near
Framingham and I lived there for 3
years. I went to Stacy Middle School.
There the 5th grade ,6th grade, and
7th grade all go to school together
and the 8th grade have their own
school. The mascot was a hawk. I
had a lot of friends there and we still
keep in touch but I still miss them a
lot. Milford is a small town but it has
a lot of events likes the Easter egg
hunt, the chorus concerts, festivals,
and parades that the high school
and middle school bands play in. This
all took place down town or in the
town park.
12. Nature’s Classroom
Last year in 7th grade when I lived in Milford I went on a field trip to Nature’s
Classroom. Nature’s classroom is a camp for fun and education but mostly fun.
It was In Connecticut, It was five days, and it cost $300. One the first day I got their we
were separated into cabins. There was 50 girls in my cabin. I dissected a goat lung and
part of a baby shark. The team leaders had funny names like mighty mouse, chick a di-di-
di, tails, and butters. There was a game called Camouflage that we would play outside
and the team leader would randomly yell out Camouflage and everyone would have to
hide behind a tree or somewhere else, if you won you would get llama points. The llama
was like the mascot of the camp and we could even walk them too. While I was there I
climbed two mountains, went down the 80 ft. slide and at night we would make up skits
and we called it Thursday Night Live(TNL). We split up in three teams. Team Funkadelic,
team Mother ship, and team parliament. I was on team parliament . The chef’s there
were trained by Chuck Norris.
13. Osei
Osei Is My Step
Brother. He Is 13 and he came
here from Ghana about 4 years
ago. He lived here for 3 years
and moved last year to
Worcester for unmentionable
reasons. Osei Still comes over
and visits us on vacations and
holidays. He likes rap music and
soccer. He wanted to try out for
the basketball team in Worcester
but he didn’t make it so he stuck
with soccer. His favorite soccer
player is Lionel Messi. Osei and
I are really close, mostly because
we are about the same age and I
only have baby brothers to talk
too.
14. Seth
Seth is my third youngest
brother and he is 4. He is going to
turn 5 on March 21st . Seth loves
the Power Rangers , all he got for
Christmas were Power ranger toys.
He likes to copy my brother
Andrew because he looks up to
him. He does everything Andrew
does. Seth is still at that stage
were he puts his fingers in his
mouth. My parents and I are trying
to get him to stop but he won’t
listen, so I made up a scary story
about it and he quit . I told him he
would turn green and have a lot of
warts on his face.
15. Theresa
Theresa is my mom’s
cousin from Ghana. She came here
in the summer to live with us. She
is 20 and she is very quiet. Theresa
didn’t say much for some unknown
reason. Then she told my mom that
she was pregnant. My mom was
the only one that she opened up
too. After this her dad wanted to
send her back home but we
convinced him to let her stay.
Theresa had a baby boy and his
name is Elijah. They live with my
grandma and she is very happy
and outgoing now.
16. Instruments
I play the guitar and the
recorder. The first guitar I got was
an acoustic guitar. I had it when I
was 8 years old but all the strings
broke. I got my second guitar
when I was in fifth grade. It was a
Christmas present and I really
didn’t know how to play it. I know
a few notes now but I don’t play
them very well. I got my first
recorder in third grade at
Northwest Elementary school. I
still have it and I play it better
than I play the guitar. I only know
how to play hot cross buns on my
guitar but, I can play a lot of songs
like Mary Had a Little Lamb on my
recorder.
17. Unicef
Unicef is a charity. It works
for children's rights, their survival,
development and protection.
Sometimes on Halloween my brothers
and I like to trick-or-treat for money
instead of candy. They’re not happy
that they don’t get candy but they
think it’s for a good cause. Last year I
went with Andrew and we got more
than $30 for Unicef. More people
were willing to give more than they
did they year before. This year I am
hoping to get more than $35 for
Unicef. My brothers and I like to help
out a lot and make a big difference.
18. Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries is
another one of my favorite
books and shows by L.j Smith.
The vampire diaries is about a
girl named Elena and two
vampires that she is in love with.
It’s a love triangle between
Elena, Damon, and Stefan.
Damon and Stefan Salvatore are
brothers and they both like
Elena. She has a doppelganger
called Katherine that looks
exactly like her and the Salvatore
brothers already met her and fell
in love with her, but she tried to
get them killed so they hate her
now. I’ve seen all the episodes
and read most of the books so
far.
19. Quotes
I Like Movie Quotes. My
favorite Movie Quotes are “There
is no place like home” from The
Wizard Of Oz. “Go ahead make my
day” from Sudden Impact. “ You
can’t handle the truth” from A
Few Good Men. “Here’s Johnny”
from The Shinning. “To Infinity and
beyond’’, from Toy Story. “Show
me the money” from Jerry
Maguire. “May the force be with
you” and “These are not the
droids your looking for” from Star
Wars. I like movie quotes because
I think they all have a message
that could mean different things to
different people.
20. Preston
At my Stacy middle school
my friends and I mad up boy names
for ourselves. My best friend named
me Preston. We called each other by
our boy names and everyone would
look at us weirdly. A few months later
my aunt said she was going to have a
baby and asked her If it was a boy or
a girl. She said it was a boy and I
asked her what his name is going to
be, his name is Preston. I thought it
was a coincidence that he had the
same name as my boy name and I
didn’t even tell anyone I had one.
Preston was born last year in April
and he weighs more than my 2 year
old brother.
21. Zoo (Southwick)
In 6th grade instead of going to
the zoo for a field trip the Southwick zoo
in Mendon came to my school.
Zookeepers came in with zoo pets in
cages and boxes. There was a baby
kangaroo, a tortoise that could carry
one of the students, a snake, an
alligator, a porcupine that crawled all
around the auditorium, a talking parrot
that called everything a cracker, and a
ferret. My favorite animal was the
parrot because he would call anything a
cracker, for example the zookeeper held
up a carrot and a grape and asked him
what the where. He said cracker both
times in a very high pitched voice.
22. June
June is my favorite month of the year. It’s my favorite because it’s the last
month of school and I think the last month is the best month of school. My cousin Alex’s
birthday is in June and his mom throws huge parties every year and a lot of people are
there because I have a big family. Teen Wolf Is one of my favorite shows and a new season
starts every June. In the beginning of the month I like to start my summer reading early
so I don’t have to worry about it later. I have the most fun in June.
23. Robbery
When I was 8 there was almost a robbery in my house. It was in the winter just
before Christmas and it was snowing. I woke up in the middle of the night because I was
thirsty and I thought I heard something but I was also half asleep so I ignored it and went
back to bed. The next morning I saw foot steps in the backyard and the door downstairs
was a tiny bit open so I went to go tell my mom. She didn’t believe me so I kept annoying
her to look and once she did she called the police. The police came to our house but they
didn’t do anything about it. They told us the robber couldn’t get in and left the door the
way it was. After that I asked my mom if this was going to be in the newspaper and she
walked away laughing.
24. Waltham
I was born in Waltham. I lived there for 4 years with my mom, my grandma my
cousins, and my aunts. It was a full house of girls but, it was big enough for all of us. My
best friend was my cousin Arianna. She is 2 years older than me and we used to play
together all the time. They all still live in Waltham but, the only people that live at that
house is my grandma, Theresa, her baby and her sisters. When I lived there, every
Saturday we would go to Chuck E. Chesses and Laser Zone. When I found out that I had
to move in with my dad I was sad that I had to leave Arianna but happy because I would
get my own room. Every Saturday we slept over each others houses instead of going to
Chuck E. Chesses and Laser Zone.
25. Yo-yo
I have three yo-
yo’s. One is yellow, one is
clear with flashing lights,
and the other on is orange
with a character named NED
on it. I got my orange one in
4th grade at an assembly and
I got the other two at a
party. I can do a few tricks
like walking-the-dog and the
fly back but that’s about it. I
learned some new tricks but
I haven’t mastered them
yet. 1 year ago I tried to do
a really hard trick with my
yo-yo but I got a black eye
from it and I haven’t tried it
since.
26. Xbox
I had an X-box for one
day. This is because my brother
can be very clumsy at times. We
got it when I was 11 and
Andrew was 5. We were playing
it for the first time and then
Andrew wanted to put another
game in. He wasn’t paying
attention and he accidently
knocked the Xbox over with his
hand. It broke and I was so mad
at him. My Mom said she would
never buy another game system
again. After that we went over
to my aunts and cousins house
to play with theirs instead. I
wouldn’t let Andrew go
anywhere near it, so now once
in a while we got there to play
their Xbox.
27. Heritage
My family is Ghanaian
and we have clothing
traditions and food traditions.
We make some of the
Ghanaian food when we get
together. For example meat
pies. I started making meat
pies when I was 10 and they
didn’t come so well but it was
better the second time. We
don’t wear the Ghanaian
clothes but we still keep them.
I used to wear them al the time
when I was little because I
thought the patterns were cool.
