    Hrvatska ima veoma dobar prometno-geografski položaj. Povijesno je tranzitna zemlja prvenstveno za terete iz država u okruženju koje nemaju izlaz na more a ostvarivale su ga preko luke Rijeka i tokova po dolini Save iz Zapadne Europe prema istoku i obratno. Svi transportnioblici su za vrijeme agresije na Hrvatsku gotovo izgubili tranzitni promet, a i domaci promet je smanjen kao posljedica gasenja industrije ili smanjenja proizvodnje. Zavrsetkom rata nije doslo do povrata prometa posebno ne u željeznickom i dijelom u pomorskom i cestovnom prijevozu. Hrvatska je danas infrastrukturno integrirana s Europom, a odnosi kapaciteta infrastrukture i ostvarenog prometa po oblicima prometa su veoma razliciti.

    The research Impact of terminal airspace and manoeuvring area on air traffic flow management is dealing with the capacity problems in the terminal airspace as a connecting airspace between aerodrome and en-route airspaces. In the initial phase parameters affecting terminal capacity will be defined and analysed . RamsPlus simulation software will be used to create approximate model of the real Zagreb terminal airspace and also as a tool for solving the capacity problems. The real traffic demand and traffic flows will be simulated to verify the model. Later, the scenario with the enlarged traffic demand will be simulated to see where the critical points are. Also, parameters such as manoeuvring area will be changed in the RamsPlus model to see how capacity and delay are affected. Analysed models should show the impact of capacity and delay on the flows of air traffic in the terminal airspace

    According to the number of airports and aerodromes open to international air transport the Republic of Croatia belongs to the most developed countries in the world. However, they accommodate an extremely low volume of passenger transport. The average realised passenger transport in the Croatian airports is only one sixteenth of the average realised in the world. In spite of the fact that almost all aerodromes depend on the financial assistance from the Croatian budget, construction of new aerodromes is being planned, primarily on the islands. The work deals with the problems of the state of the art and indicates the need for planned development of the existing and new aerodromes.

    Spatial planning as factor of space organisation around airport is caused/limited by noise, aeroplane landing and take off, possible airline crash and air contamination. Research showed and international and national regulations established that it is necessary to define area in surrounding of planned/existing airports: under obstacle limitations surfaces, surfaces more exposed to risk of aeroplane crash and over extensive noise areas as the areas of use of special measures for design and protection because of development limitations.

    U radu je prikazan manevarske povrsine u kojima prevladava dogradnja sustava voznih staza i izgradnja prosirenja na spojevima.

    The basic precondition of every successful economy today is the timely and valid information. Combined technologies of telephones, computers and television have been integrated into a unique information and communication system that uses information transfer and exchange to provide real-time interaction between people and computers. Thus, the aim and objective of introducing information technology means rationalisation and optimisation of both technological processes and the organisation as a whole. Two basic phases are distinguished in the process of automating individual phases of the operating process, and subsequently their integration with the aim of overall control, analysis and improvement of the operating process in general.     The informatisation process of Split Airport passenger, baggage, cargo and aircraft handling services started seven years ago. The basic objective was the development and the implementation of computerised programs at all workplaces within the Ground Handling. The paper gives an analysis of all advantages of the implemantation of those computerised programs which were planned and developed as separate modules, but functioning as a unique, fully integrated system (as a whole) and sets guidelines for the implementation of Information Technologies at other Croatian airports, and at other, similar sized airports in the world.

    Aerodrom Zadar je mjesoviti aerodrom, civilni i vojni. Zracna luka Zadar i Zrakoplovna baza Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva Zadar dijele manevarsku povrsinu koja se sastoji od dvije uzletno-sletne staze. Na Zracnoj luci je zapocelo skolovanje pilota Lufthanse sto znacajno povecava broj operacija zrakoplova na tom aerodromu. Ako se uzme u obzir i skolovanje vojnih pilota za zrakoplove i helikoptere, za potrebe Hrvatskog ratnog zrakoplovstva, broj operacija zrakoplova ce dugorocno iziskivati adekvatan razvoj zracne i kopnene strane aerodroma Zadar. Stoga je potrebno pristupiti izradi dugorocnog plana razvoja tog aerodroma u kojem bi se s motrista prostornog, prometno-tehnickog i prometno-tehnoloskog planiranja sagledala problematika postojeceg stanja, utvrdile prognoze prometa, definirali potrebne povrsine i objekti i njihov prostorni odnos i raspored.

    Although there are different aircraft manufecturers and hence different practical solutions, there is one bottom line in automation. In aviation automation is only complement to humans. It is not present to challenge the pilot's role and responsibility. The use of new technologies and implementation of new functionality are dictated only by: significant safety benefits, obvious operational advantages, and clear response to the pilot's needs and operational factors influencing his functioning. The paper will discuss different approaches to automation related to flight operations in aviations. The paper intends to demonstrate how different manufacturers' approaches follows quite similar ideas in different automated system designs. The paper does not intend to give any final say when choosing one concept or the other. That is the matter of different circumstances requiring more justifying space and different criteria than the pure scientific one.

    Aviation as a multitude of activities is meant to satisfy needs of its customers to overcome distance and time between any departure and arrival point in the world. Airlines and other aircraft operators (governments, armed forces, general aviation, and business aviation) differ in their structure depending on their size and services they provide. Some departments are to be found in larger airlines only. However, core departments, to every airline or aircraft operator, are flight operations department and engineering department. Sophistication and the size of these departments depend on the size of the system they are incorporated in. Business logistics of an airline consist of numerous distinctive activities and functions. These activities have to be planned and completed in synchronisation.     Airlines and other aircraft operators differ in their structure depending on each organization’ s size and the type of services it provides. Core departments, to every airline or aircraft operator, are Flight Operations Department and Engineering Department. Business logistics of an airline consist of numerous distinctive activities and functions. They have to be planned and completed in synchronization. The paper will discuss information technology and digital documentation formats for the support of these activities in a medium sized airline. Authors will show how the approach to documentation management has evolved. Changes introduced in recent years that were made possible using Internet will be presented. This will be followed by the presentation of systems and conceptual framework adopted by today’ s airlines and aircraft manufacturers towards their documentation distribution and management activities supported by digital formats and Internet.

    Traffic congestion in air and on the ground is becoming a reality at major airports. Various other types of surface traffic, in addition to aircraft, as air traffic control maintenance vehicles, vehicles for aircraft handling, ground handling, passenger or cargo handling vehicles and equipment merge and counteract on the apron, manoeuvring area and other surfaces of an airport. The situation is made even more complex by poor visibility due to precipitation or fog as well as unfamiliar aircraft crew with airport. The paper lists the events and accidents that have demonstrated the severity and the importance of this problem. It lists the potentially dangerous situations among different traffic modes at airport manoeuvring areas. History overview and current status are presented together with applied systems and developing traffic monitoring and management.
