Sexuality plays a very important part of human
life and is a necessary aspect of life; it’s a process
where we preserve the progeny that exists in the
world.
A systematic review of sexual practices
among the adolescents (Friedman 1992) states
that with sexuality is an inevitable part of
human life and exists in our instincts, and it
plays an important part in human growth, development,
and maturity. It is already known that
adolescence is a period of great storms in one’s
life; it also marks the beginning of sexual maturity.
New dimensions are created during this time
of life sexually; it is marked by intense feelings
and emotional turmoil. The complexity of the relationship
increases, which leads to drastic outcomes and consequences in terms of sexual behavior.
These changes affect not only the individual but
also their societies at large (Carver et al. 2003).
The contemporary times the lives of adolescents
are confronted with many challenges
which has changed very drastically in the previous
few decades. This change brings about various
patterns of sexual behavior. These changes
are not only in the external world but also
impacting their biology the changing world has
brought about changes in their biology as well
like earlier puberty, delayed marriage, increased
focus on individuality and less control by family
and more autonomy these can be attributed as
some significant factors. Intense exposure to sexual
stimuli via the mass media and the Internet
gives access to everything on the fingertips (L’Engle
et al. 2006).
Therapeutic touch is a type pf biofield therapy used in the treatment and healing.

Both sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and mental illnesses are important public health concerns. Both mental illnesses and STDs have high burden of care and they produce significant impairment in life. When these entities exist together, morbidity and consequently the cost of care multiply several times. Mental illness increases the risk of STD. Patients with STDs also have higher risks to develop mental illnesses. Considering the public health significance, it is important to understand the association of STDs and mental illness, so that appropriate preventive as well as remedial measures can be taken.

The corona virus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) has recently created a worldwide pandemic COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since world war-II With a death rate that is climbing rapidly, the disease has been declared a global emergency A substantial number of healthcare workers tested positive for the disease across the world The pressure of caring for patients is amplified in the setting of a virus with human-human transmission and no specific lifesaving treatment Handling life and death situations while simultaneously putting one's own life at risk contributes to an actual sense of danger Personal protective equipment (PPE) is used every day by healthcare personnel (HCP) to protect themselves, patients, and others when providing care PPE helps protect health care workers from potentially infectious patients and materials, toxic medications, and other potentially dangerous substances used in healthcare delivery PPE shortages are currently posing a tremendous challenge to the healthcare system because of the COVID-19 pandemic

. Background: Sensitive media reporting has an important role in suicide prevention. However, there is no research on the quality of media reporting of suicide in newspapers of Uttar Pradesh (UP), India. Aim: The present study aimed to assess the quality of newspaper reports of suicide against the World Health Organization (WHO) reporting guidelines. Method: Suicide news content of four purposively selected newspapers published between March 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020, were scrutinized. A total of 501 news reports from UP were included. Results: The most commonly reported attribute was the gender of the deceased and the method of suicide. Almost half of the newspapers reported the occupation of the deceased in the title. Mental illness was attributed as a cause of suicide among 23.75% of the news reports. Less than 2% of the news reports referred to expert opinion, research evidence, national or global statistics on suicide, suicide prevention measures, or information about suicide helpline. There was a significant difference in the quality of reporting between the vernacular newspapers and English dailies. Limitations: Only four online newspapers were analyzed retrospectively. Conclusion: The quality of media reporting of suicide in UP is found to be poor despite its negative effect on suicide.

Female Dhat syndrome (FDS) is not yet an established clinical entity, but nonpathological vaginal discharge has been discussed in the scientific literature for quite a long time. Various studies have reported the existence of the phenomenon of nonpathological vaginal discharge. All the existing literature on Dhat syndrome was reviewed. Studies have reported that nonpathological vaginal discharge has a high prevalence among the rural and urban populations of Indian women (around 30%). The symptom of vaginal discharge has been an area of concern for a sizable proportion of women in the community, and anxiety related to this has been a frequent reason to seek medical attention. The ideas associated with vaginal discharge are similar to Dhat syndrome in males. The variations of associated symptomatology, course of illness, and somatization of the complaint make it challenging to diagnose and treat. The diagnostic criterion needs careful evaluation; management needs an appropriate multid...

The economic and social devastation wrought by the COVID-19 crisiscoupled with the unavailability of traditional coping resources is a "perfect storm" for suicide. Evidence suggests that its impact may be disproportionately high in low-and-middle-income countries. The study aimed to assess and compare nature and correlates of suicidesfrom news reportsduring the immediate pre-lockdown and lockdown phase of COVID-19 in Bangladesh and India. We performed analysis of suicide reports from purposively selected online vernacular and English newspapers of Bangladesh and two states/union territory in India, between January to June 2020. We divided the time period of observation into two phases: pre-lockdown and lockdown phase. Country wise findings between the two phases were compared in terms of demographic and characteristics of the reported suicide. A total of 769 news reports wereanalysed; 141 from Bangladesh and 628 from India. When compared to the pre-lockdown period, the odds of suicide by hanging was significantly higher during lockdownin India (adjusted Odds Ratios [aOR] = 3.8, p = 0.018) and Bangladesh (aOR = 3.1, p = 0.048). Suicide demographics in India were different from Bangladesh during lockdown; more males died by suicide in India (aOR = 2.7, p = 0.023) and more people died by hanging (aOR = 2.6, p = 0.029). The pandemic restrictions impacted suicide demographics in the studied regions of India and Bangladesh. Further research using population-based time-series data are warranted to investigate the issue.

The current global health crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, has posed an unprecedented challenge to our health systems, economy, socio-political organizations, and the infrastructure of most countries and the world. This pandemic has affected physical health as well as mental health adversely. Several recent evidence suggests that health systems across the world have to improve their preparedness in context to infectious pandemics. The research on mental health aspects of COVID-19 and other related pandemics is lacking due to obvious reasons. This narrative review article, along with our personal views, is on various current and future mental health issues in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic focusing on various challenges and suggested solutions. The aim is also to update mental health strategies in the context of such rapidly spreading contagious illness, which can act as a resource for such a situation, currently and in future. We recommend that there is a need to facilitate mental health research to understand the psychiatric aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, include psychiatrists in the task force, and make available psychotropic and other medications with special attention to the deprived sector of the society.

Novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) originating from China has rapidly crossed borders, infecting people throughout the whole world. This phenomenon has led to a massive public reaction; the media has been reporting continuously across borders to keep all informed about the pandemic situation. All these things are creating a lot of concern for people leading to heightened levels of anxiety. Pandemics can lead to heightened levels of stress; Anxiety is a common response to any stressful situation. This study attempted to assess the knowledge, attitude, anxiety experience, and perceived mental healthcare need among the adult Indian population during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey was conducted using a semi-structured questionnaire using a non-probability snowball sampling technique. A total of 662 responses were received. The responders had a moderate level of knowledge about the COVID-19 infection and adequate knowledge about its preventive aspects. The attitude towards COVID-19 showed peoples' willingness to follow government guidelines on quarantine and social distancing. The anxiety levels identified in the study were high. More than 80 % of the people were preoccupied with the thoughts of COVID-19 and 72 % reported the need to use gloves, and sanitizers. In this study, sleep difficulties, paranoia about acquiring COVID-19 infection and distress related social media were reported in 12.5 %, 37.8 %, and 36.4 % participants respectively. The perceived mental healthcare need was seen in more than 80 % of participants. There is a need to intensify the awareness and address the mental health issues of people during this COVID-19 pandemic.

'Game of Thrones' (GOT) is an award-winning Drama Series of this decade and one of the most-watched series on television. The TV series includes not only fantasy animals and epic battle scenes but has garnered praise for cinematography, design, breathtaking landscapes, lifelike costumes, and makeup, a captivating storyline, and performances by the cast. There was a significant portrayal of sexuality in various dimensions by the characters in this story. Apart from normal sexuality, love, and honorable relationships, the characters also presented a platter of 'paraphilic behaviors' like exhibitionism and sadomasochism. Also, there is the depiction of sexual variations like incest, homosexuality, bisexuality. The accurate depiction of these behaviors, in the series, helps one understand the nature and extent of these behaviors and personalities associated with these conditions.

Background: Mothers are the most important caregivers of children. When a child with
disability is born a mother’s responsibilities increase by leaps and bounds. Caring for a
child with mental retardation (MR) challenges the role of mother and may lead to excessive
burden of care. Method: A non-experimental descriptive cross sectional assessment of
burden of care among mothers of mentally retarded children and adolescents attending
child and adolescent psychiatry OPD was done using burden assessment schedule. Results
and conclusion: The mean age of children with mental retardation was 9.09 ± 3.07 years.
The mean age mothers of children with mental retardation was 32.97 ± 6.25 years. Maximum
burden of care was found in physical and mental health domains (14.33 ± 2.81) followed
byexternal support domain (10.79± 2.24), taking responsibility (9.3 ± 1.06)and Caregivers
routine (8.77 ± 1.67). In this study, it was found that mother of mentally retarded children
and adolescent experience burden of care which increases as the financial status of the
family decreases. The burden of care is higher in severe to profound MR than mild to
moderate MR. The burden of care in the domain of physical and mental health was highest.

Homosexuality a term used for describing romantic and sexual relationship among the people of same sex. Previously understood as psychological disorder in psychiatry, but increasing understanding about homosexuality has led to current understanding as a normal variant in sexuality. The world comprising of varied geography and cultures also has their own way of understanding the phenomena of same sex love. The Indian mythology has mentions about homosexuality from the epic of Ramayana, 'Manusmriti', told about the punishment for homosexuality, whereas the European mythology wrote poetry about the love of Achilles' and Patroclus and Egyptians perceived a submissiveness in male homosexuality. Aztec mythology patronized homosexuality by giving them a place among Gods, though on contrary far eastern mythology depicted homosexuality associated with magical creatures like dragons, rabbits and punitive actions were incorporated. The depiction of homosexuality in mythology has been varied throughout the cultures and lands, but a common notion that carried with homosexuality even in the myths was, disapproval of the society, misfortune for the lovers and often associated with magic.

‘Dhat Syndrome’ is one of the most important and well known culture bound syndromes among men,
but the same semen loss anxiety can be attributed to vaginal discharge among women. This problem
mainly presents with the symptoms of excessive vaginal discharge (often colourless and mucoid) with
the complaints of chronic fatigue and loss of will to do work affecting the person psychologicaly,
economically , physically leading to increased unnecessary burden on the health related expenses.
These symptoms often are misdiagnosed as Sexually Transmitted Disease or Reproductive Tract
Infection and lead to inappropriate treatment by the provider. Thus the symptoms of vaginal
discharge, chronic fatigue, loss of will to work and vague pain symptoms should be carefully evaluated
clinically and psychologically for the appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
