The lecture deals with the role of discourse studies, from the Semiotics perspective, in the production of knowledge for education related to truth and lies in speeches in general and, more specifically, in those available on the internet. The school should contribute to teach reading aiming to help unveiling the lies present in various contents, in order to contribute to reduce intolerant discourses in the society.
