In modern education, student involvement expands beyond conventional classroom settings, reaching into extracurricular spheres. This paper investigates the transformative influence of clubs and chapters on student life, delving into their multifaceted impact beyond academic realms. Utilizing a mixedmethods approach, with fixed quantitative surveys and open-end responses questionnaires were conducted to explore student perceptions and experiences within these extracurricular contexts. Findings reveal that participation in clubs and chapters fosters personal growth, enhances social connections, and cultivates valuable skills outside the scope of formal education. Additionally, the study examines the role of clubs and chapters in promoting holistic development, including leadership skills, teamwork, and cultural awareness. Thematic analysis reveals significant themes, showcasing the various ways in which involvement in extracurricular activities shapes student identity and enhances the collegiate journey. Ultimately, the study underscores the pivotal role of clubs and chapters as catalysts for transformation in student life, preparing individuals for success beyond graduation.

Single parenting is an emerging style of family arrangement globally, including in India. It has been stated that the proportion of families consisting of a single mother continually grows. Within the context of Indian society, stigma continues to persist, and households consisting of a single parent are generally seen as having a lower social status, disruption, and eccentricity. On a global level, single-parent households have increased dramatically, with single mothers constituting threequarters of all households compared to single fathers (Bernardi & Mortelmans, 2018; Golombok et al., 2016; Karunanayake et al., 2021). According to a report by UN Women cited in Talib et al. (2020), thirteen million households (4.5%) of the total household population are managed only by single mothers. As the present scenario stands, the proportion of single mothers is increasing. Single motherhood can encompass different circumstances, including being widowed, divorced, or separated, as well as choosing to adopt children while unmarried (Collins, 2015). They assume the roles of the main breadwinners and major carers following their transition to single parenthood and must manage their families by fulfilling dual roles (Kotwal and Prabhakar, 2009; Z. E. Taylor & Conger, 2017; Zakaria et al., 2019; Evans., 2011). However, single mothers have a high risk of impoverishment in developing countries (Joya Misra, 2012). In particular, they are more likely to spend their lives in poverty than single fathers (Vespa et al., 2013). The prevalence of widowhood increases dramatically with age. A small percentage of males are widowed, whereas the widowed population is overwhelmingly female. The primary reason for this gender disparity in the frequency of widowhood and divorce is that widowed and divorced males remarry at a much greater rate than widowed and divorced women (Ralte & Zehol., 2021). Single mothers are considered inadequate; as a result, they become socially marginalised and subject to extreme discrimination and contempt (Stack & Meredith, 2017; Swain & Pillai, 2005). Additionally, depression is more prevalent among those with reduced household incomes, lower levels of education, and greater job loss. (Brand & Simon, 2014; Abd Hamid & Salleh, 2013). Meanwhile, Hsieh & Leung (2015) stated that single mothers with dependent children are the most impoverished and disadvantaged of all categories. Therefore, single mothers confronted discrimination, task overload, exclusion, insecurity, and misconceptions as social obstacles (Karunanayake et al., 2021). Consequently, they require significant assistance from the governing body and society, as evidenced by the numerous cases and headlines that are still accessible and visible in today's media (Heng, 2017). Working single mothers may face more struggles than married women in balancing family commitments and job expectations (Dziak et al., 2010). Single mothers have difficulties taking care of themselves and their children when they are uncomfortable because their jobs lack numerous Abstract Globally, the proportion of single-parent households is increasing, with women comprising the majority. Economic uncertainty has a particularly negative impact on the livelihood of single mothers. As a result, the purpose of this paper is to determine how economic difficulties affect single mothers and the coping strategies they use. The literature review process involved the retrieval of scholastic articles from a variety of databases and publications, including Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The systematic search, which focuses specifically on single mothers in English and the fields of sociology and psychology, examines articles published in scholarly journals over the past two decades, from 2004 to 2023, and the reviews are derived from these articles. There is a correlation between the poverty of single mothers and a greater incidence of depressive symptoms, and the rate of psychological stress is significantly greater for single mothers than for mothers with partners due to financial crises. However, religion plays a crucial role in enhancing social functioning. Hence, it is critical to adopt a comprehensive strategy that incorporates modifications to policies, backing from the community, and a transformation of societal viewpoints.

In India, single-parent families are proliferating. In particular, women are taking the lead in assuming the role. They are the most vulnerable of all the disadvantaged groups. Due to an absence of financial and social support, single mothers endure a great deal of emotional strain. So, the aim of the study is to investigate the various psychosocial factors that influence the well-being of single mothers. Additionally, this research seeks to assess the coping strategies employed by single mothers. This article reviews 80 studies on psychosocial concerns faced by single mothers, focusing on mental health, challenges, and social support. It cites 71 publications from 80 sources from Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed, between 1980 and 2023. The study used keywords as a search strategy such as "single mother," "mental health," "challenges," and "social support." The results showed that the absence of financial resources, education, and social support had a negative impact on the emotional and social well-being of single mothers. Children of single mothers are more likely to struggle with addictions like alcoholism, tobacco use, delinquency, hazardous sexual behavior, and even suicidal thoughts due to dysfunctional parenting. As a result, single mothers use their religious convictions, support networks, and social networks as coping mechanisms. The study implies that premarital counseling and health education are essential for young couples to prevent family disintegration in the event of divorce and separation. To provide assistance and improve the overall quality of life for this vulnerable population, collaboration between government and nongovernment organizations is necessary.

BACKGROUND: Juvenile delinquency appears to be the most widespread social issue in comparison to other social issues. Social factors and conditions have a significant impact on the prevalence of delinquency. Individuals who engage in criminal behavior before reaching the age of 18 are commonly referred to as juvenile offenders. The aim of this study is to comprehensively elucidate the research and work carried out on juvenile offenders, with a specific focus on the critical role played by social factors in all facets of juvenile delinquency. Additionally, this research seeks to investigate the social roots and influences that contribute to the criminal behavior of young offenders. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This article uses a literature review methodology to analyze research on social factors influencing juvenile delinquency. It synthesizes and evaluates prior findings to understand the complex interplay between social factors and young individuals' involvement in delinquent behaviors. The study analyzed 80 articles from reputable online databases, focusing on juvenile delinquency, offenders, crime, and social factors. Out of the 80 articles, 53 were cited, meeting inclusion criteria, including publication within 2000-2023, rigorous peer-review, and reputable database indexing. RESULTS: As per the findings of the research, it has been observed that children who grow up in households that exhibit affection, hospitality, and encouragement are comparatively less susceptible to the manifestation of societal maladies. Children who have experienced parental abandonment are at heightened risk of developing delinquent behaviors. CONCLUSION: The presence of negative family dynamics and associations with delinquent peers are widely recognized as significant contributors to the development of drug abuse behavior. It is imperative for policymakers and preventive initiatives to have a comprehensive understanding of this complex relationship. Therefore, this literature review presented a distinct overview of the influence of social factors on juvenile offenders in India.

Objectives: This study aims to examine the patterns in juvenile delinquency based on factors including age, gender, offence type, and characteristics used in NCRB reports and to comprehend the various factors that contribute to juvenile crime. Methods: This study was done using the secondary data which was collected from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reports in the year of 2017 to 2021 by the Government of India. Result and discussion: The analysis of the aforementioned data reveals that there is a higher level of juvenile crimes in India especially in various states. It also shows that a significant proportion of juvenile individuals have unfortunately fallen victim to a multitude of socioeconomic pressures, including poverty, inadequate parental guidance, limited access to education, and the influence of peer groups. The crime rate in India has exhibited a notable upward trend over the years, accompanied by a concerning decline in the rate of convictions. Conclusion: The issue of juvenile delinquency necessitates focused consideration and an approach that prioritizes the well-being of children, with an emphasis on safeguarding and proactive measures to prevent their involvement in deviant behaviour. Research Implications: The findings can have implications for policymakers and educators in the realm of pedagogy development. Additionally, it bears relevance for family members and other stakeholders who play a crucial role in fostering the comprehensive growth and development of children.

Objective: The study aims to examine the awareness of assistance policies and schemes for women among single mothers. Therefore, the current study concentrates on demographic profile of single mothers and to examine the awareness, accessibility, and effectiveness of schemes and welfare policies among rural single mothers. Methods: The research employed a quantitative and descriptive research design to examine 230 rural single mothers from the Gudiyattam Division, Vellore District. The responses are gathered using semi-structured questionnaires and interview schedules, and the data are analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Result and Conclusion: The study rejects the hypothesis because education plays a significant role in shaping an individual's pursuit of knowledge about the various welfare schemes instituted specifically for rural women. As a result, women must be educated at the grassroots level about these welfare schemes and policies for better survival in society, and policymakers must implement steps to raise the level of education for women in the nation. Implications of the research: Awareness of the scheme is a crucial metric for determining the success of any programme. Even the utilisation rate of the programme is extremely low. Therefore, researching large samples of single mothers is necessary to identify their level of awareness and to benefit from the schemes.

The move which was taken by the Indian government to demonetize notes of the high denomination was undertaken on 8 th November 2016. This study aims to analyze the impact of this change on the general Indian demographic. This study also brings out important psychosocial trends and patterns in an important segment of society with policy implications and it attempts to analyze the reasons behind the observed social behavior. The finding was that the majority of the people believed that the move was in favor of the nation and had public support but somewhere there also seemed to be an apparent lack of planning on implementation of the scheme. Hence, this study has focused the public opinion on the demonetization of Indian currency, its influence and consequences among the Indian population in all aspects including socioeconomic effects.

The goal of the current study is to investigate the connection between female foeticide and sex ratio. In many cultures, having a child is a happy occasion because it marks the beginning of a new life with new desires. But gender does matter in some societies, and hence the arrival of a girl is viewed as a misfortune rather than a blessing. Thus, female feticide is a gender-selective abortion in which a female foetus is unlawfully aborted just because she is a girl. This phenomenon cannot be completely eradicated from society; instead, we can provide proper awareness among the people to prevent it in the future. In order to prevent infanticide and feticide, this paper makes some crucial recommendations. Such as providing free education to girls in elementary schools, improving living conditions, involving the media, etc.

With various advancements in the field of internet and the world wide web, the involvement and communication between students and teachers have increased. Unlike the traditional classrooms where learning takes place face-to-face, online classes rely on one or more electronic mediums. Researches in the field of ageing and the aged started in the sixties. Most of the researches identified have been conducted after seventies, which show the growing concern for the problems of the aged during this time. One of the reasons could be attributed to the demographic factors. In India, volumes of research on diversified aspects of aged have been well established from the literature. But as it is very difficult to cover up all these aspects in this research studies, few relevant cases with a heterogeneous dimension of situation are presented. Moreover, aged are by no means homogenious groups. Their needs and problems vary according to their age, family background, health condition, economic status and living arrangements (Swaminathan, 1996). Therefore, the findings from these studies are presented under the socio-economic aspects of the Elderly.

Marriage is a fundamental part of society, a source of pleasure and entertainment and a new beginning. However, one of the longest shadows of marriage-related evil from the perspective of a woman within Indian culture is that the Dowry framework. Attempts to address these issues by legally prohibiting the drafting legislation have resulted in no reduction in the power or violence against women. On the contrary, very different interpretations of the footprint are often found within the systematic anthropology, economics, and humanities that combine many forms of resilience and evidence to support effective models of elevation as a legacy or investment for their daughters and or children. An increasing number of bride-to-be or bridegroom killings have been reported to be from India. With the help of education and raising awareness among people we can curb this practice and help make India a better place to live for everyone.

ABSTRACT Social exclusion of older people is a relevant issue in contemporary India. Under globalization in the present day world, elderly are not provided with care and support from the family and altogether feel socially excluded. Puducherry is not an exception. With a descriptive research design and a semi structured interview schedule, the study is carried on by taking 530 respondents from rural Puducherry. The paper has taken the practical application of theoretical approach of disengagement theory by taking rural older people of Puducherry in context. The finding of the study shows that in rural Puducherry older people are not provided with proper care and familial support with regard to emotional, financial and physical support. They are even found to suffer from familial abuse, thereby being socially excluded. The institutional disengagement approach in the Puducherry context depicts the unique dimension of social exclusion of elderly by focusing on three aspects—older people participation and integration in families, the spatial segregation that the elderly face in their homes and inclusive care and support of elderly. This paper is relevant because it shows that social exclusion has many dimensions, where elderly form an important issue worth attention.

The mining sector is the second largest employer in India. Mineral sites are unevenly distributed in India. Most of India’s mineral sites are located in forest areas inhabited by tribal, backward, and deprived populations. It constitutes 2.5% of the gross domestic product (GDP); with the infusion of reforms, there is ample scope for growth for this sector. Minerals are the driving force for Industrial development. Coal, Iron, graphite, limestone, etc. are some major needs of industries. The extraction of minerals has increased by 9% in 2016 from the previous year and is estimated to increase by 3% more in the coming year. The increasing rate of extraction has resulted in various ecological changes as well as also disturbed human life surrounding the areas. Acute health diseases, nitrate and lead particulate matter in drinking water, and dropouts have been raising concerns. Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana enabled DMFs to easily recognize sectors for fund allocation. Major Mining districts are reviewed to list out the effectiveness of schemes and establishment of PHCs, CHCs, Anganwadi, etc. and in attaining sustainability in mining-affected regions.

Girls particularly in rural areas, are unprepared and unaware of menstruation, leading to several problems at home, in schools, and in an office. Adolescent girls are a particularly vulnerable population, especially in India, where the needs of female children have a history of ignorance. Women's voices are ignored in households, communities, and development programmes due to discriminating rights towards women of our country.

The author has tried to highlight the reasons for their living with or without their children/relatives or the near and dear ones and the consequences there off. Further, it is also attempted to examine the gaps in this area of research and suggest the likely issues which need to be focused on in future research.

However, one of the longest shadows of marriage-related evil from the perspective of a woman within Indian culture is that the Dowry framework. Reviews the literature and states that appropriate research describing initial use of illicit drugs suggests that disruption of normal child-parent relationships, lack of involvement in organized groups, and few effective peer relationships may have been predisposing factors in some individuals initiating use of illicit drugs. Research also suggests that socialization to nontraditional norms, parental modeling of licit and illicit drug use, involvement with drug-using peers, and positive experiences with drugs may have been important factors in initial use for other individuals. It is concluded that both theory and research need a clear distinction between the several paths leading to initial drug abuse, particularly since separate statistical analyses may be necessary for people in each path.

The Internet has played a prominent role in evolving student-teacher relationship. Of late, the relationship has been evolving over the WEB CLASS. With various advancements in the field of internet and the World Wide Web, the involvement and communication between students and teachers have increased. Unlike the traditional classrooms where learning takes place face-to-face, online classes rely on one or more electronic mediums. Such virtual classrooms are gaining prominence and popularity and are steadily turning into an inseparable part of our lives. This is because of the ease with which information can be shared over electronic media. With the ever-increasing number of internet points, e-learning is also gaining momentum. E-Learning has proved to be a boon for all students, especially for the ones who are disabled and find it cumbersome to move to a certain physical location. Such needs demand the development of as many open source software as possible for producing high-quality multimedia content for e-learning. Since e-learning is coming across as an evolving concept in today's instructive scenario, much focus has been diverted towards its various formats, for example, learning management systems (LMSs) and massive open online courses (MOOCs). The main aims of this paper are: (a) to get a glimpse of the history of e-learning, (b) to discuss the various applications of e-web classes, (c) to compare and contrast the various e-web classes available.

The research gives a detailed study into the nature and substance of drugs, with emphasis on their alluring nature, and the harms that they are a causing. Observations were made of the target group of consumers of drugs, and the abuse pertaining to that, with further study into the diverse drugs that are often times abused. Efforts were also undertaken to suggest preventive measures and various case studies as to how this social stigma is affecting our society. I have found that media has played a key role in promoting substance abuse. More than $25 billion per year is spent in advertising tobacco, alcohol and prescription drugs and such advertisements have been effective too. Because substance abuse and delinquency are interrelated, identifying substance-abusing youth in the juvenile justice system is an important first step for intervening in both their substance abuse and their delinquent behavior. Drug identification strategies, followed by effective interventions, help prevent further illicit drug use and delinquency.
