Breve analisi di alcuni documenti della corrispondenza fra il Governatore di Cascia  e le municipalità di Usigni di Poggiodomo, Monteleone di Cascia, (oggi Monteleone di Spoleto), Sciedi di Norcia, Rieti e Foligno nell’inverno del 1796. Si tratta di una gruppetto di lettere prefilateliche provenienti da un ben più cospicuo archivio,contenenti  importanti notizie per la ricostruzione della storia locale e delle conseguenze nei piccoli paesi dell’altopiano umbro e reatino dell’invasione francese nello Stato Pontificio. Le lettere, ancora invendute, sono poste in vendita sul web dal 2014.

ABSTRACT River water cleaning from microorganisms using electrohydraulic discharges and ozonation was investigated. The processed water was highly polluted with the total number of microorganisms (70 400 cfu/mL) and total Escherichia coli bacteria (280 cfu/mL). The processing was conducted in a tube reactor with a hollow needle-rod electrode configuration. A 400-mL sample of river water was treated at different flow rates. Ozonation was performed in a washing bottle with an ozone concentration of 20 g/m3. The corona discharge treatment showed a steady decrease of bacteria and microorganisms but did not kill them completely. Spark discharge killed the bacteria and microorganisms completely; however, its energy efficiency was much lower than that of ozonation. The ozone treatment decreased the concentration of microorganisms and coli bacteria down to 785 and 10 cfu/mL, respectively, in 45 s which resulted in higher energy efficiency than processing using corona and spark discharges. The NPOC analysis of the treated samples showed its concentration of 5 ± 0, 4 ppm in all samples.

It is important to detect decomposition of insulating gas SF6 caused by partial discharges for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). In the previous result, the author developed a novel partial discharges sensing using carbon nanotube (CNT) gas sensor. In recently, an application of high voltage DC for long distance electric power transmission has been often used in various countries as the interconnection system and overload demand. In this study we applied the CNT gas sensor to detect partial discharges generated by high voltage DC. There was polarity profile for DC compared AC discharges. It was found, response of the sensor in the case of negative discharges was much higher than positive discharges under the same experimental condition. And the decomposed gases for each case were identified by FT-IR spectroscopy. The result indicated absorption peaks correspond to SF4 and SOF2 of positive discharges was much higher than that of negative discharges.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici the causal agent of crown and root rot in tomato comprises two overlapping separate phases: monocyclic and polycyclic. Oversummering inoculum is the source of primary infection (the monocyclic phase) and the spread from plant to plant via root-to-root contact is the source of the secondary infection (the polycyclic phase). In the present work, relationships between initial inoculum density, population dynamics of the pathogen in the root zone of diseased plants, and disease onset were studied. For the monocyclic phase, 55.1% of the variance of disease onset was attributed to the rate of pathogen proliferation in the root zone of plants, and only 12.8% of the variance was attributed to the amount of initial inoculum density. For the polycyclic phase, disease onset was not related to either initial inoculum density or the rate of pathogen proliferation in the root zone. At disease onset, the inoculum density of the pathogen in the root zone of plants infected from oversummering inoculum reached an average of 4.08 log cfu g soil−1. The inoculum density of the pathogen in the root zone of plants infected by their diseased neighbors was 3.23 log cfu g soil−1. A large variation in pathogen proliferation rate in the root zone was found among individual plants, suggesting that differences in the level of soil suppressiveness may occur not only between fields, but even in the same field over short distances.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as a concept, has been the focus of deliberations and research over the past many years. India has a long history of individual and corporate philanthropy and the concept has been integral to Indian culture and value system since ancient times albeit informally. With the enactment of Companies Act in the year 2013 and subsequent amendments there to, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has entered a new phase of evolution i.e. from being a voluntary activity to a statutory responsibility. Section 135 of the said Act mandates CSR contribution from every company that meets the prescribed threshold limits of net worth, turnover or profits. However, there are some grey areas in this provision and related rules which need further clarification for more efficient implementation of the Act. This paper discusses the concept of CSR and its evolution, pros and cons of mandated vis-à-vis voluntary CSR and issues and challenges involved in implementing the provisions of the Act and related rules. The paper also makes suggestions as to how these challenges and inadequacies can be resolved so that the objectives of the Act can be fully achieved

We all know that electricity is a part of our day today life and its demand has increased considerably due to the rise in the population. In order to supply power to the consumers, it has to be transmitted with minimum amount of losses such that the power system provides better efficiency. For this purpose, generation, transmission and distribution must be efficiently carried out considering all the factors in order to reduce losses and increase the power outcome. Transmission line (TL) plays an important role in transmitting electrical power. This paper deals with the maintenance of overhead (OH) TL by using a robot, which monitors the TL and detects any fault if present, so that electricity is transmitted with minimum amount of losses. Maintenance and detection of any kind of faults in the TL is a difficult task we face then and now because of risky factor while dealing with high voltages. Usually inspectors carry line inspection by aviation method which includes an observer who observes the TL by a helicopter driven by a pilot which is indeed a costly one and the video images provided from the helicopter is out of focus. Hence in order to achieve the same a robot is used which travels on the TL with the help of rollers on it. The robot inspects the TL and transfers the data regarding the line faults directly to the control room. In this method, the robot is equipped with a voltage and current sensor for the measurement of voltage and current, a RF module for communication purposes and a visual camera to capture images to be sent to the control room. This method is so advantageous in reducing cost, increasing efficiency and enhancing safety.
