This volume has been prepared under the auspices of the project entitled, ‘Competition Reforms in Key Markets for Enhancing Social & Economic Welfare in Developing Countries’ (CREW Project). This project was implemented by CUTS in four countries: Ghana, India, Philippines and Zambia, and across two common sectors: Staple Food and Bus Transport with the support from DFID (UK) and BMZ (Germany) facilitated by GIZ (Germany). The aim of the project was to highlight the relevance of competition reforms for social and economic welfare in developing countries, and motivate other countries, governments and development partners to accord greater attention to the subject of competition reforms. In view of this overall aim of the project, with inputs from the project advisers CUTS designed the final conference of the CREW project on a broader theme to talk about ‘Relevance of Competition & Regulatory Reforms in Pursuing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Developing Countries’. The theme was thought to be both contemporary and relevant in view of the adoption of the SDGs a couple of months before this final conference. In addition to the support it received from DFID (UK), BMZ (Germany) and GIZ (Germany), the conference also received support from the World Bank, G-77 Secretariat and the OECD. CUTS is grateful to all the above organisations for supporting the conference, and indeed also the production of this volume. Bu kitap; duygusal ve davranışsal bozukluklara sahip öğrenciler hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyen sınıf öğretmenleri, özel eğitim öğretmenleri ve alanda çalışan uzmanlar için hazırlanmış giriş niteliğinde bir uygulama kitabıdır. Her bir bozukluğun nedeni, tanımlanması, güncel araştırmalar ışığında verilmeye çalışılmış ve okul ortamındaki pratik uygulamalarla da anlatım zenginleştirilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak belirli bir bozukluğun tüm yönlerine ilişkin temel yaklaşımla birlikte bilimsel olarak geliştirilmiş müdahele yöntemleri de verilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Bu kitabın alanda yeni çalışmaya başlayan öğretmenler kadar güncel verilerle desteklenen tanı koyma ve müdahele stratejilrine önem vermesi nedeniyle alanda uzun süredir çalışmakta olan öğretmenlere ve uzmanlara da yararlı olacağını düşünmekteyiz.

2013 yılının Mayısı ayında yayımlanan DSM-5 ölçütlerine göre ruhsal bozukluklarla ilgili sunulan bilgilerin güncellemesinin de yapıldığı bu kitap, tüm dünyada pek çok üniversitenin psikiyatri ve psikoloji bölümlerinde ders kitabı olarak okutulmaktadır.
Kitabın her bölümünde, ilk olarak ruhsal bozukluklarla ilgili vakalar sunulmakta, daha sonra bozuklukların klinik tanıları yapılmakta ve DSM-IV-TR’den farklı olan DSM-5’te yapılan değişikliklere yer verilmektedir. Ayrıca, DSM-5’teki tanı ölçütleri, bozuklukların etiyolojisi ve epidemiyolojisi, bozukluklar üzerinde kalıtımın ve çevrenin etkileri, biyolojik ve sosyal ve kültürel etkiler, en güncel araştırmalardan elde edilen verilerle harmanlanarak sunulmaktadır. For the development of social entrepreneurs it is imperative that educators embrace the concepts and process of social entrepreneurship (Dees, 1998). Exploration of these concepts in education could prove beneficial to the community (Haugh, 2005). This chapter focuses on the positives of introducing social entrepreneurship education at the primary and secondary levels of education. Specifically, its central focus deals with building children's entrepreneurial self-efficacy at a young age. Several benefits, of increasing self-efficacy at a young age, are outlined. Benefits, such as entrepreneurship training, not only training students, but it helps to prepare them for the new knowledge-based economy. Further, entrepreneurship education should help increase the success and survival rates of women and minority entrepreneurs. ABSTRACT
In this study we argue that between the shareholder and stakeholder models of operating multinational
corporations, the stakeholder approach is superior. The enhancement of profit of the firm in addition to
the improvement of the society is a better strategy both on grounds of efficiency and equity, intertemporally.
Additionally, we maintain that MNCs due to their size are better equipped to attain
society’s goals than foreign governments.

Ünlü eğitim psikoloğu Robert Slavin'in Eğitim Psikolojisi kitabının onuncu baskısı, kuramı uygulamaya aktarma konusunda önemli bir eksikliği gidermekte ve öğretmenlerin sınıfta ihtiyaç duyabilecekleri alanlarda uygulayabilecekleri bilgileri içermektedir.

Kitap, yansıtıcı ve bilinçli bir öğretmenin uygulayabileceği en yeni araştırmaları sunarak, bilinçli öğretmen üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Slavin'e göre bilinçli öğretmen, uygulamasını devamlı surette yansıtan ve bu uygulamaların öğrencileri nasıl etkilediği hakkında net bir düşünceye dayalı olarak öğretim kararları veren kişidir.

Bu kitapta okuyucular alanda önemli ve yeni ortaya çıkan bazı konular ile karşılaşmaktadır. Bu konulardan bazıları; 21. yüzyıl becerileri, ilk yıllarda dil ve okuma yazmanın gelişimi, iki dilli eğitim, nöroloji alanındaki yeni araştırmalar, iş birliğine dayalı öğrenme konusundaki son araştırmalar, okumada sorun yaşayan okuyucular için özel yardım, küçük gruplarla çalışma ve bilişim alanındaki en yeni araştırmalar, gelişmeler ve uygulamalardır. Robert Slavin, akademik derinliğini sergilerken aynı zamanda sanki ders anlatır gibi okuyucuları ile yüz yüze buluşmayı da amaçlamaktadır. Kitap yeni ve farklı bir yaklaşımla pek çok teorik bilgiyi uygulamalı olarak sunan, teorik bilgilerin kavramsal olarak uygulamaya nasıl dönüştürüleceğini göstererek öğretmeyi amaçlayan ve bunda başarılı olduğu açıkça belli olan iyi bir başvuru ve ders kitabı olarak öğrencilere ve eğiticilere önerilmektedir.

Uzmanlar, klinisyenler ve araştırmacılar, yeme bozukluklarının duygusal düzensizliklerden kaynaklandığı vakalarda Diyalektik Davranış Terapisinin etkin olacağı konusunda hemfikirdi. Alanda yapılan pek çok adaptasyon çalışması olmasına rağmen Debra Safer, Christy Telch ve Eunice Chen bunu deneysel bazda yapan ilk kişilerdir. Standart diyalektik davranış terapisinin, tıkanırcasına yeme bozukluğu ve blumia nervoza semptomlarını tedavi etme yollarının yapılandırılmış bir özetini sunan bu kitap ile alandaki ihtiyaca cevap vermişlerdir. Bu alanda çalışan klinik psikologların ve danışmanların mutlaka okuması gereken önemli bir kaynak olmakla birlikte bu alanda okuyan öğrenciler için de farklı bir bakış açısı kazandırmaktadır.
Dokuz bölümden oluşan bu kitapta tedavi kapsamlı olarak ele alınmıştır. Genel çerçevede, olumsuz duygularla başa çıkmanın daha uyumsal yollarını öğreten becerilerin kazanımı ile tıkanırcasına yeme ve boşaltmayı durdurma hedefine ulaşma yolu adım adım çizilmiştir. Blumia nervoza ve tıkanırcasına yeme bozukluğuna sahip insanların karılaştığı sorunlar ve mevcut tedavi yöntemleri ele alınarak okuyucuya genel bir bakış açısı kazandırılır. Standart terapinin detaylı bir şekilde tanıtımından sonra bunun adaptasyonunun neden gerekli olduğu, adapte etmenin mantığı mevcut kanıtlar ile sunulur. Daha sonra, tedavi öncesi ve başlangıç oturumlarından tedaviyi sonlandırmaya kadar olan süreç aşama aşama ele alınır. Nüksetmeyi önleme kısmına değinilir. Son olarak kapsamlı vaka örnekleri ile anlatılanların sağlam temeller üzerine oturması sağlanır.
Amacına uygun şekilde düzenlen bu kitap, diyalektik davranış terapisi adapte edilirken belirli sınırlar çizmek yerine okuyucuya geliştirilebilir bir zemin hazırlar. Bu yönüyle tedaviyi uygulamaya ve geliştirmeye teşvik eder. Açıklayıcı vaka örnekleri ve kanıtlar ile tedaviyi tüm ayrıntılarıyla sunarak farklı alanlardan okuyuculara hitap eden bu titiz çalışma özellikle alandaki uzmanlara klinik psikologlara, danışmanlara ve araştırmacılar için bir rehber niteliğinde olacak niteliktedir.

Investment opportunities in the gemstones business in Nigeria
There are abundant and diverse Investment opportunities in the nascent colored gemstones industry in Nigeria and these include: mining, trading, brokering deals, and processing.
Mining: Mining of coloured gemstones is widespread in the nation and is mainly carried out by Artisans and Small scale Miners (ASM). The artisanal miners are informal mostly migratory and have served as ‘pathfinders’ discovering and temporarily mining many rich deposits of spectacular gemstones.
The government as part of the mining reform established the department of Artisanal and Small scale Miners to organise support and promote ASM. The general economic reforms have created an enabling investment climate with relatively cheap labour.
There are numerous viable opportunities for mining the rich and extensive near surface deposits of sapphire, ruby, emerald, aquamarine, tourmaline, and the rest, which are found in Nigeria and presently under-exploited. Investment in this sector allows foreign ownership or in partnership with local miners.
Trading: The guidelines and conditions for the establishment of private mineral buying centres (MBC) have been developed. Government is embarking on a drive for the registration of MBC nationwide which will provide opportunity for trading companies to establish gem buying centres in any part of Nigeria.
Processing: Since Nigeria is not ‘a consuming nation of gemstones’ much of the gemstone production is being exported rough. Only an insignificant portion is processed locally hence there are great opportunities for tumbling, beading, faceting, carving, and jewellery making in the country.

In this era of globalization, the perceptions of people are matters and overlooked by many in our everyday life. This also holds true for businesses owned by Malay businesspeople, as their richness has been questioned by netizens as well as from other races like they do not deserve the wealth of them. This situation is evident on what has an impact on Malay business people nowadays as they feel insecure and not eager to compete in business. Such events raise the question of how well Malay practices their skills in handling business and controlling the comments, criticism, and perceptions overthrown by Malaysian itself. Therefore, this study has been conducted to determine the extent to which are the main issues contributing to the lack of development of Malay entrepreneurs even though various of assistance has been given by the government and the private sectors in order concerning these Malay entrepreneurs.  Furthermore, I also reviewed how the situation of Malay entrepreneurs encounter living in the dynamic situation where the economic division of Malaysia remain at large. Lastly, the research analysing the role of government and the concern of the authority towards Malay business people to improve the progress of their business development and to look over the opportunities via an open market. The researcher employed a questionnaire survey to obtain data. 25 respondents who at least likely to have experienced in business were chosen as the sample. The overall findings show that there are several factors causing the lack of development in entrepreneurial activities by Malays in Malaysia are often used to been prejudiced their rights since back then and how the role of the government and authorities would change the mentality of Malay entrepreneurs to be more passionate and keen in business if the Malay entrepreneurs follow a suitable platform.

This is a concept note for the establishment of a business incubation facility at University, to be named, University Business Incubation Centre (University-BIC). The centre will provide three type so services, namely, innovation, financing and mentorship. The centre will utilize a single hall, which will be transformed into an open office plan, as well as conference centre for events. The centre will be funded by income generating activities, as well as donations.  The total capital costs are projected at UGX. 17,852,500, that is, equipment costs, plus 3 months operating expenses. The project will earn an annual profit of  Ugx.9,050,000 and hence break even in approximately 2 years.

Entrepreneurship triggers the economic condition of a country. Entrepreneurship increases the standard of living and has provided opportunities to improve the standard of living. There are several studies on the relationship between the entrepreneurial characteristics and entrepreneurial intention of students. There are very few studies on the need and importance of entrepreneurial skills over the entrepreneurial intention of graduate students. This paper concentrates on the 537 graduate students of science, commerce, and arts. The reason for selecting these students is to understand the level of involvement in entrepreneurial activity and their preparedness to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Hypotheses were tested with descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and chi-square tests. This study helps to understand the willingness of students towards entrepreneurship. This paper focuses on the entrepreneurial skills required to equip graduate students to choose entrepreneurship as a career. The role of institutions in increasing the interest of students towards entrepreneurship.

Toplumsal etkileşimin olduğu her yerde, anlaşmazlıkların olması doğal ve kaçınılmazdır. Kişiler, gruplar ve toplumlar arası anlaşmazlıklar; doğru bir biçimde yönetildiğinde gelişimin, ilerlemenin, dönüşümün, barışın ve bütünleşmenin hem enerji kaynağı hem de motoru olabilmektir. Ancak, anlaşmazlıklar yanlış ve yıkıcı yaklaşımlarla yönetildiğinde ise; yıkımın, şiddetin, zulmün ve acının kaynağına dönüşmektedir.

Anlaşmazlıkları ortadan kaldırma, farklılığı ortadan kaldırmaktadır. Doğa ve insanlık, farklılığı ve çoklığı kabul etmeyi ve anlamayı gerektirir. Farklılığı ortadan  kaldırmaya çalışmak yerine; onu anlamaya ve nasıl yöneteceğimizi keşfetmeye başladığımızda, yolumuz anlaşmazlıklarımızı nasıl yöneteceğimizden geçmektedir. Anlaşmazlıkları nasıl yöneteceğimiz üzerine odaklandığımızda, karşımıza en temel yaklaşım ve paradigma olan "dönüşümsel arabuluculuk" çıkmaktadır.Dönüşümsel arabuluculuğun alanyazına en önemli katkısı, anlaşmazlık çözüm sürecinin toplumsal değerlerden ve kültürden bağımsız olmadığı,ideolojimizin ve inanç tarzımızın anlaşmazlıklara ilişkin değerlendirmelerimizi, tutumlarımızı ve anlaşmazlıklarımızı ele alış tarzımızı etkilediği düşüncesidir. Yine, dönüşümsel arabuluculuğun en ayırt edici özelliği, anlaşmazlıkları yönetim sürecinin, kişileri dönüştürebileceğine, geliştirebileceğine ve güçlendirebileceğine yönelik yapıcı ve olumlu duruşudur.

Bush ve P. Folger tarafından geliştirilen "dönüşümsel arabuluculuk modeli" ülkemizde, her sene mahkemelere taşınan yüz binlerce anlaşmazlığı, çekişmeyi ve ayrışmayı yüz yüze müzakere ederek yapıcı ve barışçıl olarak çözme kapasitesini güçlendirmek için bir fırsat ve araç olacaktır. Cezalandırıcı adalet anlayışından, onarıcı adalet anlayışına dönme çabalarına ışık tutacaktır.

Bu eser,içerdiği alternatif paradigma çerçevesinde hukuk sistemimize yeni giren arabuluculuk modelinin doğru ve amacına uygun kullanılması için de referans olacak anlamlı ve önemli bir eserdir. Buna ek olarak, anlaşmazlık çözümü üzerine çalışan hukukçulara, psikologlara, psikolojik danışmanlara, eğitimcilere, psikiyatristlere ve sosyal çalışmacılara hem kurumsal anlamda hem de somut anlaşmazlıkların ve çatışmaların yapıcı ve barışcıl yönetimi konusunda yol gösterecek temel bir başvuru kaynağı olacaktır.

This article examines five common misunderstandings about case-study research: (a) theoretical knowledge is more valuable than practical knowledge; (b) one cannot generalize from a single case, therefore, the single-case study cannot contribute to scientific development; (c) the case study is most useful for generating hypotheses, whereas other methods are more suitable for hypotheses testing and theory building; (d) the case study contains a bias toward verification; and (e) it is often difficult to summarize specific case studies. This article explains and corrects these misunderstandings one by one and concludes with the Kuhnian insight that a scientific discipline without a large number of thoroughly executed case studies is a discipline without systematic production of exemplars, and a discipline without exemplars is an ineffective one. Social science may be strengthened by the execution of a greater number of good case studies.

Tüm yaşamımız duygu ve düşüncelerimiz tarafından yönetilmektedir. Çoğumuz ağırlıkla gerçeğin farkına varmadan yaşadığımızdan düşünce becerilerimizi geliştirmeyi önemsemeyiz. Bu kitap sayesinde eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin kapsamında kişinin tarafsız düşünür hâline gelme, düşünme seviyesinden haberdar olma, temel akıl becerileri, yetenekleri, içgörülerinin gelişmesine destek olma, sunulan düşüncenin zayıf ve güçlü manasını keşfetme vb. gibi becerilerini geliştirme, kendi düşünme standartlarını bilme, soru sorma ve düşünmedeki yerini anlama, düşünme içeriğini öğrenme, iyi düşünme becerilerini edinme, karar alma, problem çözme, mantık dışı düşünce ile başa çıkma, ulusal ve uluslararası propaganda yolları zihinsel kandırmaca ve manipülasyonun farkına varma, etik akıl yürütme, stratejik düşünme becerileri ve ileri düşünür olma başlıklarında bilgi ve beceri kazandırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Buraya kadar sözü edilen bu becerileri kapsayan kitabın hem bilgi vermesi hem de Türk akademisyen ve düşünürleri tarafından bu konuda yeni eserlerin kaleme alınmasını, araştırma yapılmasını teşvik etmesi hedeflenmektedir. Kitabın hedef kitlesi, matematik bilimlerinde ve sosyal bilimlerde eğitim gören öğrenciler ve akademisyenler, politikacılar, medya mensupları ilk akla gelenler arasındadır. Phronetic organizational research is an approach to the study of management and organizations focusing on ethics and power. It is based on a contemporary interpretation of the Aristotelian concept phronesis, usually as ‘prudence’. Phronesis is the ability to think and act in relation to values, to deliberate about ‘things that are good or bad for humans’ in the words of Aristotle (1976:1140a24–b12). Phronetic organizational research effectively provides answers to the following four value-rational questions, for specific problematics in management and organization studies: 1. Where are we going with this specific management problematic? 2. Who gains and who loses, and by which mechanisms of power? 3. Is this development desirable? 4. What, if anything, should we do about it?

Purpose – This paper aims to develop an empirical model that examines whether a student’s proactive
personality or the university support environment (education support, concept development support
and business development support) affects their entrepreneurial intentions. Additionally, the relative
strengths of a student’s proactive personality and the university environment influences are compared.
Design/methodology/approach – A total of 141 students attending a well-established and
internationally renowned Malaysian higher education institution completed a questionnaire survey.
Results were based on correlation and regression analysis.
Findings – Results indicate that a proactive personality and concept development support have
significant impact on students’ entrepreneurial intentions. Additionally, the results showed that a
student’s proactive personality had a greater effect on their entrepreneurial intentions than that of the
university support environment.
Originality/value – The paper demonstrates one of the few attempts to examine the effects of both a
proactive personality and university support environment on entrepreneurial intentions in an emerging
economy context. Specifically, we reconfirm students’ personality traits as a more important predictor
of their entrepreneurial intentions than environmental factors in the Malaysian context. Additionally,
by also demonstrating concept development support as a significant predictor of entrepreneurial
intentions, we provide new insights into how universities in emerging economies can foster the
entrepreneurial intentions of their students. This result adds to the academic literature on
entrepreneurial intentions in emerging economies.

The Aalborg Project may be interpreted as a metaphor of modern politics, modern administration and planning, and of modernity itself. The basic idea of the project was comprehensive, coherent, and innovative, and it was based on rational and democratic argument. During implementation, however, when idea met reality, the play of Machiavellian princes, Nietzschean will to power, and Foucauldian rationality-as-rationalization resulted in the fragmentation of the project.

This study explores the advantages and disadvantages of being a professional coach with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The abundant literature on ADHD is reviewed and looked at in light of international and national (French) coaching performance standards By looking at the relationship one with ADHD tends to have with themselves, with others, with sustained focus and follow-through, and with creative processes, this study concludes that a coach with ADHD who can have the most impairing traits of the disorder under control most probably has an edge over non-ADHD coaches, in particular when it comes to the creative aspects of the coaching process.

At the same time that case studies are widely used and have produced canonical texts, it may be observed that the case study as a methodology is generally held in low regard, or is simply ignored, within the academy. For example, only 2 of the 30 top-ranked U.S. graduate programs in political science require a dedicated graduate course in case study or qualitative methods, and a full third of these programs do not even offer such a course. In contrast, all of the top 30 programs offer courses in quantitative methods and almost all of them require training in such methods, often several courses. In identifying this paradox of the case study’s wide use and low regard, Gerring rightly remarks that the case study survives in a “curious methodological limbo,” and that the reason is that the method is poorly understood. In what follows, we will try to resolve Gerring’s paradox and help case study research gain wider use and acceptance.

This chapter offers a retrospective account of Baumol’s contribution in light of its influence on economics and entrepreneurship studies. The first section describes the core arguments of his original paper. The second section discusses its impact on the entrepreneurship discipline. Following this, the third section explores some criticisms of Baumol and explains how addressing these criticisms can provide a path forward for entrepreneurship research that simultaneously does justice to Baumol’s work while also integrating it into important emerging research. The fourth section then considers the policy implications of Baumol’s work. The final short section concludes.

Indian economy is highly dependent on rural economy as 72.2 % of the total population lives in rural areas where agriculture and allied activities are the major sources of income. Rural entrepreneurship is starting of enterprises in rural areas.  Entrepreneurship is a wise answer to solve the unemployment, migration and to promote economic and social development in rural areas. The strengthening of the rural villages will encourage the preservation of natural resources and improve the rural economy. There exists a wide gap between rural and urban areas in terms of infrastructure, market and financial access etc .To reduce the disparities, revitalizing the rural economy can be achieved by establishing entrepreneurial ventures in rural areas.

Rural development is more than ever before connected to entrepreneurship. Institutions and individuals promoting rural development now see entrepreneurship as a strategic development intervention that could increase the rural development process. Rural entrepreneurship that are beginning to deliver on the expected benefits of inclusive economic growth that helps in improving standard of living in rural areas in general and at the bottom of the pyramid in particular. The majority of rural entrepreneurs is facing many problems due to not availability of primary facilities in rural areas of developing country like India. Lack of education, financial problems, insufficient technical and conceptual ability it is too difficult for the rural entrepreneurs to establish industries in the rural areas. This paper makes an attempt to find out the Problems and Challenges for the importance of Rural entrepreneurship. It also highlights the suggestions which can cater the needs and change in the process of budding up the development of entrepreneurship among the people.

Corrupt exchanges are often brokered by a third party, but this phenomenon has not been satisfactorily explored by researchers of corruption. Literature on brokerage in general provides interesting models but they have not previously been applied to corrupt exchanges. Based on in-depth qualitative interviews with respondents who participated in actual corrupt transactions, this paper identifies several distinct brokerage types in low-level corruption in contemporary Hungary. The paper also provides explanation of variation in corruption brokerage in terms of actors' group affiliations, forms of the corrupt exchanges, brokerage mechanisms, as well as neutrality, benefit and motivation, risk distribution, and stability of the brokerage structure. Finally, we discuss some policy implications of corruption brokerage.
