The distinctive contribution of sociological social psychology can be referred to as sociological miniaturism, a way of interpreting social processes and institutions that is microsociological more than it is psychological. We argue that social psychology of this variety permits the examination of large-scale social issues by means of investigation of small-scale social situations. The power of this approach to social life is that it permits recognition of the dense texture of everyday life, permits sociologists to understand more fully a substantive domain, and permits interpretive control. In the chapter we provide examples of this approach from two quite distinct theoretical orientations: symbolic interactionism and social exchange theory. Nowadays, organizations present an environment leading people to greater competitiveness and individual performance in the workplace. In order to better serve its interests and objectives, business community use different forms of support of their managers, namely the executive coaching, object of our study. This approach is applied as a managers’ performance development strategy (Grant & Greene, 2004; Moën & Federici, 2012; Moën & Skaalvik, 2009).

Since the last 90’s, executive coaching is gaining progressive popularity in Morocco, thanks to the emergence of different coaching programs and institutions.

The aim of the present study is to highlight the main reasons explaining the resort to this strategy, and to bring valuable insights about its success factors and its impacts on managers’ performance.

Is executive coaching in Morocco just an observable trend or a real difference making process? Through semi-structured interviews, conducted with Moroccan coaches, coachees and a HR Manager, we will analysis this research question.

The requirements of ISO 15189:2003 are discussed in the context of a process and outcome based quality management model in which the user?s needs are the central focus. The requirements of ISO 15189:2003 are examined in terms of organization and a quality management system and stress the importance of evidence, document control and control of records and clinical material. Examples are provided from the areas of resource management, pre examination, examination and post examination processes. In the final section the importance of evaluation and continual improvement is presented in relation to internal audit and external assessment, non-conformity, corrective and preventative action and management review.

The effect of the nature and concentration of coagulants on the effectiveness of reducing the colour intensity with varying the concentration of sorbent from 1 to 3 g/l and coagulants Al2(SO4)3 and FeCl3, respectively 0.5; 0.75 mg/l. It has been shown that from the mentioned reagents the optimal option is the use of aluminium sulfate and iron chloride as a coagulant, as a flocculant - anionic polyacrylamide in concentrations of 0.5 mg/l, 0.75 mg/l and 0.5 mg/l respectively. It is determined that application of coagulants and flocculant for treatment of wastewater of silkworm production makes it possible to achieve required parameters of quality of treatment, at that efficiency of treatment on suspended substances makes 94.0-97.0%, on COD 87.0-91.0%, on dyes 91.0-94.0%.

The production of laccase by Trametes versicolor in airlift bioreactors was studied. In order to enhance laccase production several inducers were tested, among which 2,5-xylidine led, by far, to the highest activities (around 1500 U/l). The bioreactor operated in two successive batches for 40 days with no operational problems and pellets of regular size were maintained throughout the fermentation. The bioreactor configuration employed is appropriate for laccase production by free cells of T. versicolor. The extracellular liquid obtained was studied in terms of pH and temperature activity and stability. The ligninolytic fluid produced was fully active at pH 3 and 60 °C. Moreover, it was stable at pH 5 and retained about 70% activity at 30 °C for 12 days. In addition, it was able to decolourise the sulphonephthalein dye Phenol Red. This decolourisation was most efficient at pH 5.

Fuel and air staging are used to study the potential for reduction of NOx emissions from biomass fuelled reactors. The two well-known methods to reduce NOx emissions in a combustion process by primary measures are air-and fuel staging. Air staged reactors use primary air injection in the fuel bed, and a secondary air injection in the combustion chamber. A rich combustion in the first stage (close to stoichiometric condition) gives the maximum conversion of fuel-N to N2 (minimum NOx emissions after complete combustion). Fuel staging has been introduced as an alternative emission reduction technique due to the practical demands of air staging (high combustion temperature in the primary zone). Fuel-staging is a method of fuel reburning. The present study shows the effect of different variables on NOx reduction capability. Reactor models consisting of sequences of ideal reactors are employed in combination with a recently available detailed chemical kinetics mechanism, especially suitable for biomass combustion. Nitrogen in the fuel is known to be the largest contributor to NOx emissions; hence the nitrogen content of the fuel is found to be an important parameter in the reduction of nitrogenous emissions. Furthermore, the potential for NOx reduction is found to be highly affected by the amount of excess air in the primary zone, in advance of the secondary air inlet, with a clear optimal reduction close to a primary air excess ratio of 1. Increasing reactor temperature however has an inverse effect on the reduction potential due to the onset of thermal NOx production. Fuel staging is found to have a higher potential for reduction in the majority of the investigated range of primary excess air ratios. Only in the region close to stoichiometric conditions in the primary zone is a higher NOx reduction observed for air staging. The achieved NOx reduction under the optimum conditions was up to 76 percent.

Teaching and curriculum involves not only adhering to the teaching content, but the teaching methodology, learning strategies and the changed relationship between students and teachers. The purpose of this paper is to suggest that what is needed for ESP in science particularly is a different orientation to English study. There is a shift of the focus of attention from the grammar to the communicative properties and functions of language. Difficulties students encounter arise not so much from a defective knowledge of the system of language but from the unfamiliarity with English use and the adequate rhetoric used to convey scientific facts. It is suggested that in teaching ESP learning strategies should play not only important but a vital role. Accordingly, autonomous learning and metacognitive strategies are suggested as basics for teaching and learning ESP and especially ESP in science.

A sequencing batch reactor (SBR) has certain advantages over conventional activated sludge processes (ASP) for the treatment of complex wastewater. The performance of a sequencing batch reactor in treating complex chemical effluents was investigated with a suspended biomass configuration and operating under aerobic conditions. A total sequence of 24 h (15 min: filling phase; 23 h: reaction phase (aeration with recirculation); 30 min: setting; and 15 min: withdrawal) was employed and studied with various organic loading rates (1.0 kg COD/m3/day: 1.7 kg COD/m3/day and 3.5 kg COD/m3/day). The SBR performance was assessed by means of carbon removal and operational parameters such as pH, oxidation–reduction potential (ORP), sludge volume (SV), sludge volume index (SVI), suspended solids (SS) and volatile suspended solids (VSS), which were monitored during reactor operation. The SBR showed relatively more efficient performance over conventional suspended growth systems. About 8% sulphate was removed under anoxic conditions at all the studied organic loading rates. Enhanced performance with SBR over conventional ASP may be due to enforced short term unsteady state conditions coupled with periodic exposure of the microorganisms (physiological state) to defined process conditions which facilitate the required metabolic conditions for treating complex chemical effluents.
