The 35th CIHA World Congress presents a unique experiment:
for the first time a CIHA Congress takes place in two different
locations and in two different moments: in Florence, Italy, 1–6
September 2019, and in São Paulo, Brazil, 13–18 September 2020.
The whole Congress is dedicated to the general topic of MOTION
and invites the international community of scholars to discuss
fundamental aspects of art and architecture under this heading
in a broad transcultural perspective, from earliest times to the
present. The Congress is conceived as a strong collaboration
between the two national CIHA committees, who are responsible
for their respective venues and who have been creating formats
for a dialogue between the two events, such as joint sessions in
each place. The venues focus on two major, though not mutually
exclusive, aspects of MOTION: Transformation in Florence
and Migrations in São Paulo. The two committees are pleased
to announce this intense collaboration and welcome you
to an extraordinary transcontinental debate about the most
challenging concerns of art history and related fields today.

The paper analyses and compares the geography curricula for compulsory education in 11 European countries: Sweden,, Austria, Slovenia and Hungary. The analysis 1 answers questions concerning the length of compulsory education, the name of the subject, the description or defi nition of the subject, the organization of the subject, its position in the curricular area, the aims of the subject, classes and education cycles, compulsory or elective subject, schedule of teaching periods (per week and per school year), methodological guidelines, teaching conditions, evaluation, trends and recommendations for Croatia.

This paper describes the methodology and results obtained after productivity improvement work conducted on two consecutive building construction jobs.  The first one was used to evaluate production rates and productivity, current construction methods, potentials and lacks of construction equipment, current construction planning methodology, and existing tools to asses productivity.  These are briefly discussed in this paper. The second job was preplanned based on the experience and detailed documentation obtained in the first one. Work was conducted in order to “design” construction methods in detail, develop a detailed production planning based on the construction methods developed, select crew components and select their specific tasks, and design communication and control tools. Although the second job’s schedule and budget were originally calculated using standard methods (i.e. historical production rates), new schedule and budget were calculated based on the preplanning effort. Construction performance was measured against these values.

The current expansion of national colleges and universities or the increase in the number of enrolments requires teaching management to ensure the quality of teaching. The problem of scheduling is a very complicated problem in teaching management, and there are many restrictions. If the number of courses scheduled is large, it will be necessary to repeat the experiment and make adjustments. This kind of work is difficult to accomplish accurately by manpower. Moreover, for a comprehensive university, there are many subjects, many professional settings, limited classroom resources, limited multimedia classroom resources, and other factors that limit and constrain the results of class scheduling. Such a large data volume and complicated workforce are difficult to complete accurately. Therefore, manpower scheduling cannot meet the needs of the educational administration of colleges and universities. Today, computer technology is highly developed. It is very economical to use software technology to design a course scheduling system and let the computer complete this demanding and rigorous work. Common course scheduling systems mainly include hill climbing algorithms, tabu search algorithms, ant colony algorithms, and simulated annealing algorithms. These algorithms have certain shortcomings. In this research, we investigated the mutation genetic algorithm and applied the algorithm to the student's scheduling system. Finally, we tested the running speed and accuracy of the system. We found that the algorithm worked well in the course scheduling system and provided strong support for solving the tedious scheduling work of the educational administration staff.

Resources are required to carry out specific tasks in a project, but the availability of resources within a given firm is always limited. While preparing the schedule structure, the Project Manager might schedule certain tasks in parallel. In such cases it might be possible that the same resource is being used in both the parallel tasks, while its availability is limited. This paper emphasizes how the Project Manager could resolve such conflicts by using Resource leveling. Resource leveling as defined by PMBOK is a “technique in which start and finish dates are adjusted based on resource constraints with the goal of balancing demand for resources with the available supply.” It basically refers to solving over-allocation of resources for the given project. If leveling is done on tasks which are not present on the critical path, the given project will not be delayed, but if the given tasks are critical then the project would be delayed. This paper uses a case study in order to portray how resource leveling could be done using Microsoft Project and what its effects are on the duration of the entire project.

As the owners expect that the cost and time for nuclear power plant construction would decrease with new entrants into the market, there will be severer competition in the nuclear industry. In order to achieve performance improvement and to attain competitive advantages under the globalized competition, practitioners and researchers in the nuclear industry have recently exerted to develop an advanced and efficient management methodology for the nuclear mega-projects. Among several candidates, integrated cost and schedule control system is of great concern because it can effectively manage the three most important project performances including cost, time, and quality. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to develop a project numbering system (PNS) of integrated cost and schedule control system for nuclear power plant construction. Distinct attributes of nuclear power plant construction were investigated first in order to identify influencing variables that characterize real-world implementation of advanced cost and schedule controls. A scenario was then developed and analysed to simulate a case-project. By using this case-project, proposed management requirements, management methods, measurement techniques, data structure, and data collection methods for integrated cost and schedule PNS were illustrated. Finally, findings and implications are outlined, and recommendations for further research are presented.

Rework is a menace that leads to undesired and unnecessary loss of efforts, it degrades project cost and schedule performance of construction projects, both at design and construction phases. This study therefore, analyzed the impact of cost of rework on time and cost  performance of building construction projects  in Nigerian, using selected commercial building project within the country’s capital. A pro forma was adopted for gathering data on rework cost, project cost and time of selected building projects, while structured questionnaire was used to collect information on the likely measures for reducing rework incidences from construction professionals that were involved in the delivery of the identified projects. Regression analysis, relative importance index and Kruskal-Walis test were employed for data analysis. The study revealed a significant relationship between the cost of rework and initial and final project cost of delivering commercial buildings, as an average of 3.53% impact on the initial project cost, 46.60% contribution to cost overrun, and p-value of 0.000 was observed on all assessed projects. For the project delivery time, a significant relationship between the cost of rework and initial and final project duration, as an average of 7.35% impact on the initial delivery time, extra 19 days  and p-value of
0.000 was observed on all assessed projects. Team building and education, management commitment, employee involvement, were some of the best possible measures to minimized rework problems.

The article describes the process of developing a chatbot to provide students with information about schedules using the Telegram mobile messenger. During the research, the following tasks have been performed: the analysis of notification systems for their use in the educational process, identification of problems of notifying students about the schedule (dynamic environment, traditional presentation of information, lack of round-the-clock access), substantiation of the choice of mobile technologies and Telegram messenger, determination of the requirements to the software, generalization of the chatbot functioning features, description of the structure, functionality of the program to get information about the schedule using a chatbot. The following tasks have been programmatically implemented: obtaining data from several pages of a spreadsheet (faculty / institute, red / green week, group number, day of the week, period number, discipline name, information about the teacher); presentation of data in a convenient form for the messenger (XML); implementation of the mechanism of convenient presentation of data in the messenger (chatbot). Using Python and the Telegram API, the software has been designed to increase students; immediacy in getting the information about the schedules, minimizing the time spent, and optimizing of planning of student activities and higher education institution functioning.

O desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias e plataformas digitais tem ofertado, cada vez mais, distintas possibilidades para o público ver um conteúdo audiovisual. Esse cenário impõe novos desafios para as emissoras de televisão manterem sua audiência. Assim, argumenta-se que uma das estratégias utilizadas na TV aberta, no Brasil, para cativar e manter o público tem sido um investimento em conteúdos para nichos. Um exemplo dessa conjuntura seria o caso do Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT), que dedica boa parte de suas horas de programação ao público infantil. Nesse sentido, este artigo busca analisar a presença de produções infantis na grade de programação do SBT ao longo da última década como forma de refletir sobre essa segmentação da TV aberta.

Fast-tracking a project involves carrying out sequential activities in parallel, partially overriding their original order of precedence, to reduce the overall project duration. The current predominant mathematical models of fast-tracking are based on the concepts of activity sensitivity, evolution, dependency and, sometimes, information exchange uncertainty, and aim to determine optimum activity overlaps. However, these models require some subjective inputs from the scheduler and most of them neglect the merge event bias.
In this paper, a stochastic model for schedule fast-tracking is proposed. Relevant findings highlight the existence of a pseudo-physical barrier that suggests that the possibility of shortening a schedule by more than a quarter of its original duration is highly unlikely. The explicit non-linear relationship between cost and overlap has also been quantified for the first time. Finally, manual calculations using the new model are compared with results from a Genetic Algorithm through a case study.

An important problem for the WiMAX networks is how to provide a guaranteed quality of service for applications. A key aspect of this problem is how base stations should share bandwidth capacity between different classes of traffic. The decision needs to be made for each incoming packet and is known as the packet scheduling problem. A major challenge in packet scheduling is that the behavior of each traffic class may not be known in advance and can vary dynamically. This paper has described how the packet scheduling problem has been modeled as an application for reinforcement learning. We have demonstrated how our reinforcement learning approach could learn scheduling policies that satisfy the quality of service requirements of multiple traffic classes under a variety of conditions. The proposed solution has been designed to have an ability to accommodate integrated traffic in the networks with effective scheduling schemes. A series of simulation experiments have been carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheduling algorithm. Results revealed that the proposed solution performs effectively to the integrated traffic composed of messages with or without time constraints and achieves proportional fairness among different types of traffic.

Our previous studies indicate that oxycodone is a putative kappa-opioid agonist, whereas morphine is a well documented micro-opioid agonist. Because there is limited information regarding the development of tolerance to oxycodone, this study was designed to 1) document the development of tolerance to the antinociceptive effects of chronically infused i.v. oxycodone relative to that for i. v. morphine and 2) quantify the degree of antinociceptive cross-tolerance between morphine and oxycodone in adult male Dark Agouti (DA) rats. Antinociceptive testing was performed using the tail-flick latency test. Complete antinociceptive tolerance was achieved in 48 to 84 h after chronic infusion of equi-antinociceptive doses of i.v. oxycodone (2.5 mg/24 h and 5 mg/24 h) and i.v. morphine (10 mg/24 h and 20 mg/24 h, respectively). All projects need a schedule. The schedule needs to show which tasks are to be performed in what order, how long each task should take, and which tasks depend on which other tasks. The precursor to a schedule is a project network diagram or network. A network should not be confused with a PERT chart (Selinger and West, 2001).

The precedence diagramming method (PDM) has been in use since the late 1960s. It was developed at Stanford University to combine the attributes of PERT and the critical path method to enhance the effectiveness of scheduling by allowing multiple relationships and inserting lag between activities (Moder, 1988). The PDM is also frequently identified as an activity-on-node network. The purposes of critical path analysis are to ensure that all tasks can be completed on time and to quantify the level of flexibility in each activity's scheduled start and stop time.

Objective:To determine if stress levels of emergency medical services (EMS) personnel can be reduced by adjusting work schedules to personnel preferences.Methods:A prospective, longitudinal, cohort study with a work-schedule modification intervention was performed. All EMS personnel employed by the City of Cleveland EMS were eligible for participation. EMS employees voluntarily completed an abbreviated medical personnel stress survey (MPSS-R), a 20-question validated stress-assessment tool, in September 1989, February 1991, and September 1991. A new scheduling pattern was introduced March 1991. At that time, 27 EMS employees volunteered to work the new schedule (12 hours/shift: 3 days on/2 days off/2 days on/3 days off). The remaining 109 EMS employees remained on the old schedule (8 hours/shift: 6 days on/2 days off).Results:Mean MPSS-R stress scores increased significantly from September 1990 (61.9 ± 7.87) to September 1991 (65.08± 7.23) (p < 0.05). In September 1991, mean stress scores of EMS personnel working the new schedule (64.39± 7.82) were not significantly lower than stress scores of EMS personnel working the old schedule (65.25 ± 7.10).Conclusion:Stress in EMS personnel increased despite a new schedule pattern designed to accommodate the preferences of EMS personnel.
