In this thematic section, authors consider practical ways of giving back to the communities in which they conduct research. Each author discusses their evolving thoughts on how to give back in these practical ways. Some of these authors discuss giving back by giving money, food, rides, parties, and water bottles. In other cases, authors discuss giving back by creating jobs in the short or long term, grant writing, advocacy, and education. Story-telling is also a theme that many of the authors in this section discuss. For some authors, non-material forms of giving back are critical—simply maintaining social ties to the communities in which they worked, or sharing humor. The authors consider the utility of their attempts at giving back, and in some cases present their personal philosophy or guidelines on the subject.

The modern development of the country's economy is characterized by negative trends in the development of the state's regions, inefficient use of their entrepreneurial potential and inefficient specialization of the regional economy, the lack of a balanced mechanism for managing economic flows, verified technologies for choosing a business model for regional development, and negative manifestations of territorial disintegration at the level of individual regions, which resulted from the lack of appropriate innovative technologies in the field of economic business education. One of the tools for improving such innovative technologies is the formation of intellectual capital as a factor in the development of entrepreneurial skills in the system "teacher – student – entrepreneur – practitioner - business environment". Solving problems of entrepreneurship development in different sectors of the economy will contribute to the formation of intellectual capital as the basis for ensuring the development of innovative technologies in education and science, in particular, the economic business education of students, designed for self – realization and practical orientation of future young professionals. After all, entrepreneurship is associated by young people as a process of personal professional growth, social adaptation and formation through the formation of business ideas, the development of business projects and their implementation in real practice

The aim of this article is to show that statistical analysis and hermeneutics are not mutually exclusive. Although statistical analysis may capture some patterns and regularities, statistical methods may themselves generate different types of interpretation and, in turn, give rise to even more interpretations. The discussion is lodged within the context of a quantitative analysis of dream content. I attempted to examine the dialogical texts of reported dreams monologically, but soon found myself returning to dialogic contexts to make sense of statistical patterns. One could cogently argue that the reported statistical relationships in this study, rather than pointing to any interaction among the "signifieds," speak only to the relationships among the "signifiers" that were being played out through various actors on the analytic or scientific stage, since all of the constructs used in theorizing about, interpreting, and telling dreams come from the same discursive...

In this article, I offer the opposing view (con-side) against reparations for American slavery, as if in a forensic debate before a moot court: I presume the American public will judge the merits of my opposing arguments. I oppose reparations for slavery based on: 1) the legal standard of culpability, 2) the “clean-hands doctrine,” 3) Black people who were themselves slave owners, and 4) fairness in the administration justice. While anyone else is welcome to argue the pro-side, I argue the con-side of the following proposition: America owes Black Americans reparations because of its history of plantation slavery, which has privileged White Americans economically over Black Americans. I provide a plethora of evidence that reparations and justice are incompatible in the application of American justice. Moreover, any law requiring reparations for slavery could create an unintended liability for far too many Black Americans whose ancestry extends far beyond Sub-Saharan Africa.

"Background: The studies on children and adolescents provide the basic information for educational interventions such as the assessment of the knowledge of community health promotion. The present study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practices of secondary high school students regarding food safety and hygiene in Khorramdarreh, Zanjan, Iran.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 640 secondary high school students during December 2014-December 2015. The participants were selected via cluster sampling, and data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire after assessing its validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed in SPSS version 16.
Results: The mean scores of the knowledge, attitude, and practices of the students were 36.6±6.96 (moderate), 57.95±6.88 (favorable), and 40.59±5.80 (favorable), respectively. The lowest knowledge level of the students was observed in milk and egg hygiene (27%), meat hygiene (35%), effect of temperature on microorganisms (35%), and brucellosis-related aspects (7.33%).
Conclusion: Although the students had a positive attitude toward food safety, they had inadequate knowledge of the effects on their practices. Therefore, it seems that training is essential in the food safety and hygiene fields for students and their parents."

Background: Delivery by a skilled birth attendant (nurse -midwives) as an indicator of progress towards reducing maternal mortality worldwide ( the fifth Millennium Development Goal) Aim: The aim of this study is to identify the impact of training education program applied on nurse-idwife practice concerning care during first stage of labor in labor room. Method: A quasi-experimental design conducted on non-probability (purposive) sample of fifty two nurse- midwives selected during period from 3th August to 10th November 2011. The study is conducted at the
four hospital of Ministry of Health (Baghdad health directorate in Al-Karhk and Al-Risafa) sector. The questionnaire form is consisted of three parts which included demographic data, knowledge concerning practice
during First stage of labor, practice checklist. Content validity and reliability of the questionnaire determined through a pilot study, descriptive and inferential statistics are used to analyze the data. Results: Results of the study showed that the highest percentage (44.2%) were in age group of 30-39 years, midwifery school graduate
and(42.3% )of them had 1-10 years of work experience in midwifery. There were low and moderate means in most items related to the practices of nurse-midwives regarding first stage of labor in pre-test and assessed as (partial) while there were high mean scores in all items, and assessed Pass in posttest after the implementation of the training
education program with high statistical significant. Conclusion: The study found there were low and moderate means in most items related to the practices of nurse-midwives regarding the care during first stage of labor in pretest and while there were high mean scores in all items, and assessed Pass in posttest after the implementation of the
training education program with high statistical significant. Recommendation: establishment of clinical practice standards according to the WHO, development of continuing education programs, establishes a baccalaureate degree program in midwifery.

Adaptive control in the face of uncertainty involves making online predictions about events in order to plan actions to reliably achieve desirable outcomes. However, we often face situations in which the effects of our actions are probabilistic (e.g., returns on our investments), and the environment itself is dynamic, - it can change irrespective of any action we decide to take, and in a relatively stable or unstable way (e.g., economic climate). Therefore, the problem of control concerns learning to isolate the effects that are generated directly by our actions, from those that occur independently of them. We face this problem in a host of uncertain dynamic environments: ecological (using fertilizers to increase crop yield), economic (investing in real estate), industrial (operating nuclear power plants), mechanical (driving cars) and medical (stemming outbreaks of disease). Thus far there has been little attempt at a synthesis of the amassing research directed towards understanding control in the face of uncertainty. The aim of this book is to bring together theoretical and empirical research from disparate disciplines spanning Social, Cognitive and Clinical Psychology, Human Factors and Neuroscience to Engineering and Machine learning. It serves as a round up of the different techniques used to examine issues concerning control (prediction, agency, causality, uncertainty) and unifies a substantial amount of disparate research. The general framework (Monitoring and control- MC framework) used to achieve this proposes two central ideas (agency, uncertainty) that have important ramifications across disciplines. In sum, control processes involve self-regulatory mechanisms that enable us to make subjective estimates of success, which helps to anchor our interpretation of uncertain events. In addition, these estimates are integrated with estimations of rates of change of the events in the environment which helps us track the outcomes we aim to control.

In this article, I argue that the introduction of ethnography to International Relations has not taken full advantage of the potential of bringing these two fields together. Using international intervention as an example, I suggest that to bring out this potential we need to be more attentive to the classical virtues of ethnography. This means taking the subjects of our studies much more seriously, as people capable of making sense of and reacting to the structures of power they are embedded in. Here implementers tasked to put international policies into action in relation to a concrete context provide an overlooked source of knowledge. Using their experiences, reflections and ways of dealing with the concrete dilemmas that arise in their daily work enables us to analyse intervention as concrete relations of power that play out, affect and are mitigated by people in the field. Seeing knowledge as in this manner arising from the field provides a deeper knowledge that is necessary if we want to read intervention not only as an exertion of power from the international to the local, but as dynamically reshaped, resisted and made sense of in the field.
