Pursuant to section 801(a)(2)(A) of title 5, United States Code, this is our report on a major rule promulgated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), entitled “Promoting Efficient Use of Spectrum Through Elimination of Barriers to the Development of Secondary Markets” (FCC 03-113). We received the rule on December 4, 2003. It was published in the Federal Register as a final rule on November 25, 2003. 68 Fed. Reg. 66252.

The present world is a result of advancement and continuous change in technology. The automobile industries are trying to improvise with dynamic features by accepting new technology. Nowadays, vehicle owners are more interested in the speed of the vehicle. But as speed increases, the same results in decrease in safety. But the advanced technology like Adaptive Cruise Control controls every section of the car and provides safety and comfort. Results from this report show a budget aftermarket adaptive cruise control system is feasible and should be continued with further research. A prototype demonstration unit is being implemented. Full testing of the system will be carried out using a model car to simulate traffic in front. This system will be able to adapt to the simulated changes in traffic, and react with according braking and accelerating levels.

The aim of this study is to present a description of the meaning of work by analysing the thoughts of young people on working, work, business life and success. The data were collected with 15 fill-in-the-blank questions given to 21 students in the university elective Int-roduction to Professional Working Life course at a foundation university. Later, the inquiries used in the call for the issue of Reflective magazine with the theme “ Working, not working, unable to work” were added to this questionnaire and data were collected from 3 more students studying in Turkey and continuing their higher education in Europe. The data were coded and analyzed with the help of MAXQDA qualitative data analysis program and implications have been made on things that cannot be tolerated in business, study, business life, fears while looking for a job, etc. We can say that the young people participating in the research generally attribute posi-tive meanings to work/business, they are hopeful for success through working, they are afraid of being unemployed, and the meaning of working for them is a matter of survival rather than self-actualization

This volume, in honour of Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, brings together a set of essays that highlight some of the major transformations in the field of labour history today.

The present juncture is one in which the geographical boundaries of the discipline, which were narrowly configured around the nation-state, are being challenged; and the analytical category of labour, for long identified with the industrial, unionized and male worker, has been stretched to include hitherto marginalized, informal workers. The shift away from Eurocentric comparisons in recent years has meant a questioning of the spatial, temporal and relational binaries that were dominant in the writing of labour history earlier. By focusing on sites, forms and relations of labour that habitually cut across the classical divides of labour history, the essays explore connections between events and processes across time and space. They demonstrate that global history is not just history at a global scale, but a macro-view of historical processes of importance to human societies and their systematic analyses at all scales. Global history, the contributions in this volume show, can be solidly based on micro-historical studies, if these studies connect with the larger areas of inquiry.

OVERVIEW To understand the contemporary life of Indigenous Australians, a historical and cultural background is essential. This chapter sets the context for further discussions about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and issues related to their social and emotional wellbeing and mental health. The history of colonisation is addressed, the subsequent devastation of Indigenous Australians, and their resilience and struggle to claim equality and cultural recognition, and to shape the present. Indigenous Australia is made up of two cultural groups who have shared the same struggle, yet often when using the term Indigenous, a Torres Strait Islander history is absent. In this chapter both cultures are equally presented. Brief overviews are given of pre-contact times, colonisation, resistance and adaptation, shifting government policies, and the struggle for recognition.
