BCM
M
BCM receives signals from various units and transmits a buzzer output signal to the combination meter via
CAN communication if it judges that the warning buzzer should be activated.
BCM Warning Function List WCS
JPNIA1564ZZ
Unit Description
• Receives a buzzer output signal from the BCM with CAN communication line and sounds the
buzzer.
Combination meter • Judges whether the parking brake is released from the vehicle speed signal received from the
ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) with CAN communication line and the parking
brake switch signal from the parking brake switch, and sounds the buzzer if necessary.
Transmits signals provided by various units to the combination meter with CAN communication
BCM
line.
ABS actuator and electric unit
Transmits the vehicle speed signal to combination meter with CAN communication line.

LIGHT REMINDER WARNING CHIME : System Description INFOID:0000000004778067
E
DESCRIPTION
With ignition switch in the OFF or ACC position, when the driver door is open and the lighting switch is the 1st
or 2nd position, the light warning chime will sound.
• BCM detects ignition switch in the OFF or ACC position, front door switch (driver side) ON, and lighting F
switch in 1st or 2nd position. Then the BCM transmits the buzzer output signal (light reminder warning
chime) to combination meter with CAN communication line.
• When combination meter receives buzzer output signal (light reminder warning chime), it sounds the buzzer. G
WARNING OPERATION CONDITIONS
If all of the following conditions are fulfilled.
• Ignition switch is in the OFF or ACC H
• Lighting switch is in the 1st or 2nd position
• Front door switch (driver side) is ON
WARNING CANCEL CONDITIONS I
Warning is canceled if any of the following conditions is fulfilled.
• Lighting switch OFF
• Ignition switch ON J
• Front door switch (driver side) is OFF

Light reminder warning chime does not sound even though headlamp is illuminated.
Diagnosis Procedure INFOID:0000000004778107
The is key warning chime does not sound under the following conditions. B
• Key inserted into the key slot. (Key slot switch ON)
• Ignition switch is not in ON or START. (Ignition switch signal OFF)
• Front door switch (driver side) is open. [Door switch signal (driver side) ON]
C
Diagnosis Procedure INFOID:0000000004778111
The Supplemental Restraint System such as “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along
with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger for certain
types of collision. Information necessary to service the system safely is included in the “SRS AIRBAG” and
“SEAT BELT” of this Service Manual.
WARNING:
• To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in
the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by
an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.
• Improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead to personal
injury caused by unintentional activation of the system. For removal of Spiral Cable and Air Bag
Module, see the “SRS AIRBAG”.
• Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed to in this
Service Manual. SRS wiring harnesses can be identified by yellow and/or orange harnesses or har-
ness connectors.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS (AIR OR ELECTRIC) AND HAMMERS
WARNING:
• When working near the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Airbag System sensors with the igni-
tion ON or engine running, DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near the sensor(s) with a
hammer. Heavy vibration could activate the sensor(s) and deploy the air bag(s), possibly causing
serious injury.
• When using air or electric power tools or hammers, always switch the ignition OFF, disconnect the
battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service.
