Teacher will do:

 Prayer
 Greeting

EXPLORE

Teacher will say: Table 1 – Data of Eruptions

 Yesterday activity (Tuesday) you are tasked to locate the
volcanoes using its coordinates in the Philippine map.
 Today we are going to talk about the activity of
volcanoes based on the historical record of eruption.
 I am going to give you the dataof volcanic eruptions, and
you are going to construct a graphic organizer and
classify the volcanoes according its activity based on the
historical basis of eruption.
 In making Graphic Organizer, your basis will be colour
coding; Blue for volcano that has no eruption, yellow for
volcano that has 1 to 5 times eruption,green for 6 to 10
times eruption, and lastly red for more than 10 times
eruption.
 Do you understand?
 Before anything else your Graphic organizer will be
evaluate based on the given rubrics.
 You have only 15 minutes to do your Graphic organizer.
Guided questions:
1. Which of the volcanoes had themost number of eruptions? Least
number of eruptions? No records of eruption?
2. How will you classify the volcanoes that have records of eruption?
3. How will you classify volcanoes with no record of eruption?
4. In your own words, differentiate an active volcano from an inactive one.

ACTIVITY 2 – LET’S CLASSIFY IT

Direction: Construct a graphic organizer based on the historical basis of eruption.

Graphic Organizer

EXPLAIN
Guided questions:

1. Which of the volcanoes had the most number of eruptions? Least

number of eruptions? No records of eruption? (Mayon volcano has the
most number of eruptions while Iraya volcano has the least number of
eruptions. Thefollowing volcanoes have no record of eruption:
Cabaluyan, Cocoro, Pulung, Tamburok and Urot.)
2. How will you classify the volcanoes that have records of eruption?
(Active)
3. How will you classify volcanoes with no record of eruption? (Inactive)
4. In your own words, differentiate an active volcano from an inactive one.
(Active volcanoes are those that have records of eruption or have
erupted recently while inactive volcanoes are those that show no record
of eruption.)

ELABORATE
After the explanation of the students. The teacher will ask the following
questions:

Guided questions:

1. For a volcano that has a record of eruption, would it be possible

that it will erupt again? (Active volcanoes have a recent history of
eruptions, they are likely to erupt again, ex. Taal volcano.)

Do we have active volcanoes here in Zamboanga City? How

about in our neighboring cities in Mindanao? Are they active
volcanoes? If ever it will erupt do you think we will be affected?
