DAQEXPLORER
DAQEXPLORER is a powerful software package for DAQSTATION which supplements the DX and the CX standard
software functions with a Desktop feature, as well as Data Monitor and other networking functions. With a user-friendly
graphical-user interface (GUI), DAQEXPLORER lets you take advantage of the DX's and the CX’s Ethernet-based
networking functions, including file transfer and data monitoring.

DAQEXPLORER makes it easy to use the advanced networking functions

Main features
■ GUI-based user-friendly operations
DAQEXPLORER makes it easy to perform tasks such as entering DX/CX settings over a network or transferring measure-
ment data files from a DX/CX series unit to a PC. Simply click or drag and drop icons on the Desktop.

■ A variety of user-friendly software modules in a single package

The DAQEXPLORER package contains various software modules, such as:
• Data Monitor Module for monitoring DX/CX measurements over the network
• Data Viewer Module for playing back and displaying data files generated by the DX/CX unit
• Settings Module for entering various settings
Individual modules can be accessed by simply clicking the module icons on the Desktop.

Overview of Functions
DAQEXPLORER contains software modules such as those listed below. The individual modules are integrated on the Desktop.
Desktop
The Desktop is a space which integrates the DAQEXPLORER software modules and allows you to manage the DX/CX units on
the network. All basic actions are performed by simply clicking or dragging and dropping icons. The Desktop also automatically
searches for and displays DX/CX units that are connected to the network (within
the same segment as the PC you are using). Normally this eliminates the need to
perform bothersome setup tasks such as specifying IP addresses or host names.

• DX/CX memory start/stop/triggers
• Displaying snapshots of DX/CX screens
• Displaying lists of files in DX/CX internal memory and external storage media

Settings Module
This module lets you send/receive data to/from DX/CX units, such as settings related to measurement channels and
calculation channels, and settings related to screen display. These data can also be saved to a PC hard drive or other
storage media.

Data Monitor Module

The Data Monitor Module allows you to monitor measure-
ment data from DX/CX units on the network in a variety of
formats. Available formats include trend display, circular trend
display, digital value display, and meter display. This module
also lets you monitor measurements from DX/CX units
mounted on DAQEXPLORER desktops running on other PCs.

Analog meter, bar graph meter, or thermometer display of
measurements/calculations.

Data Viewer Module

This module is used to display and print DX/CX unit-gen-
erated data in any of the three file formats listed below.
The Data Viewer Module has trend display, digital display,
circular display, and list display capabilities.
• Display data files (.dds/.cds)
• Event data files (.dev/.cev)
• TLOG files (.dtg)
• Report files (.d?r)
• Manual sampling data files (.dmn)
Simply double-click a measurement data file icon on the
Desktop to start the Data Viewer Module and display the
data.
You can also read numerical values in the displayed data
using the cursor, calculate interval values, and convert
data to ASCII or file formats compatible with Excel and
Lotus 1-2-3.

■ Linked file display

Data files generated by breaking up contiguous data into multiple files in DX/CX units, or interrupted by a power failure or the
like can be displayed as linked files. You can save the file linking conditions, so it is easy to redisplay linked files.
Using the linked file display, you can also read numerical values in the displayed data using the cursor, calculate interval
values, and convert data to ASCII or file formats compatible with Excel and Lotus 1-2-3.

A circular display model equipped with state-of-the-art networking functions
• Circular display is available as well as the normal T-Y trend display.
• Waveform span rate can be selected from 1, 2, 6, 8, 12, 16 (hours), 1, 2 (days), 1, 2, and 4 (weeks).
