A battery of neuropsychological measures considered sensitive to dysfunction in prefrontal or temporal cortices was administered to patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and healthy controls. BPD patients exhibited striking deficits on measures of nonverbal executive function and nonverbal memory but were unimpaired on tests of alternation learning, response inhibition, divergent thinking, verbal fluency, and verbal working memory. A second study found that university students obtaining high scores on a self-report measure of BPD symptoms exhibited a similar pattern of neuropsychological impairment, although performance deficits were much less pronounced in the student sample. Taken together, these studies suggest that dysfunction of a right hemisphere frontotemporal regions may be associated with borderline personality.

This paper presents a CBP-BDI planning model which incorporates a novel artificial neural network. The CBP-BDI model, which is integrated within an agent, is the core of a Multiagent System that allows managing the security in industrial environments. The proposed model uses Self-Organized Maps to calculate optimum routes for the security guards. Besides, some technologies of Ambient Intelligence such as RFID and Wi-Fi are used to develop the intelligent environment that has been tested and analyzed in this paper.

ÖZET: Bu çalışmada, oynaklık endeksi VIX ile küresel ticaretin öncüsü olarak kabul edilen Baltık Kuru Yük Endeksi (Baltic Dry Index-BDI) arasındaki ilişki 06.12.2010-30.11.2017 dönemi günlük verileri esas alınarak incelenmiştir. Engle-Granger Eşbütünleşme Testi, Hata Düzeltme Modeli ve Kalman Filtresi yaklaşımının kullanıldığı analiz sonucunda iki değişken arasında uzun dönemde bir eşbütünleşme ilişkisinin olduğu, VIX'in BDI'daki değişimi kısa ve uzun dönemde pozitif yönde ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı biçimde etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Yapılan Kalman Filtresi Analizi de VIX'in BDI üzerindeki etkisini her zaman noktası için tahmin ettiğinden, değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi dinamik bir şekilde ortaya koymuştur. ABSTRACT: In this study, the relationship between the volatility index VIX and the Baltic Dry Index, which is considered as the pioneer of global trade, was examined based on the daily data of 06.12.2010-30.11.2017. The analysis using the Engle-Granger Cointegration Test, Error Correction Model and Kalman Filter approach showed that there was a long-term cointegration relationship between the two variables. It was also determined that VIX influenced the change in BDI in a positive and statistically significant manner in the short and long term. Since the Kalman Filter Analysis also predicts the effect of VIX on the BDI at all times, it has dynamically shown the relation between the variables.

The Business Intelligence (BI) traditional goals still stay: provide the right information users in organization with right information at the right time and place. The BI systems by their nature demonstrate as heterogeneous, while all plans to unify them eventually fail. Moreover the expectations of R&D of proactive BI let us conclude, the heterogeneity may become chaotic. We claim that, for mastering such a heterogeneous and dynamic system, a programmatically accessible and self managed knowledge management system, capable of storing and representing the whole content of a BI system is required. The properties of Knowledge Management Structures (KMS), combined with intelligent agents (IA) and Multi-agent systems (MAS) show great capabilities, and have, in limited scope, proved their strengths, acting in heterogeneous svstems. In the following paper we synthesized the state of the art research in the fields of BI, KMS, IA and tried to fill a gap disabling successful application of IA for management of KMS in a dynamical environment. To do so, a model of an IA, capable of reasoning and acting in a dynamic KMS environment and sharing its knowledge is presented.

Live fire training is an essential component of infantry and Special Forces training. Recent developments in target technology have created a need for more sophisticated human behavior models that can drive the targets to behave in a realistic and challenging manner. Such behavior models enable the targets to exhibit convincing tactical behavior, as well as coordinating as a team to confront the trainee with a more formidable foe. This paper describes the current status of an ongoing project to augment disparate target types with sophisticated behavioral capabilities. The underlying CoJACKTM behavior engine enables the deployment of targets that behave realistically, react in a timely fashion, and exhibit sufficient variation to ensure that the trainees cannot predict how opponents will behave. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a non-invasive method for brain stimulation. Although pilot trials have shown that tDCS yields promising results for major depressive disorder (MDD), its efficacy for bipolar depressive disorder (BDD), a condition with high prevalence and poor treatment outcomes, is unknown. Depression is a mood state of sadness, gloom, and pessimistic ideation with loss of interest or pleasure in normal activities. This mood disorder has been reported to occur more frequently among cosmetic surgery patients. The purpose of the current study was to compare the score of depression among aesthetic rhinoplasty candidates and functional rhinoplasty patients as control group. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Depression (DE) subscale of Symptom Check List-90-Revised (SCL-90-R) were administered on a sample of aesthetic rhinoplasty patients (n=21) as well as a sample of functional rhinoplasty patients (n=21). Those with both cosmetic and functional purposes were categorized regarding their primary objective. Questionnaires were given to patients preoperatively. Cohen's d was also calculated as a measure of Effect Size (ES). BDI and SCL-90-R-DE scores were analyzed using t-test for independent groups. Statistical analyses suggested that the mean BDI and SCL-90-R-DE scores of aesthetic surgery patients were significantly higher than those of functional surgery patients (P<0.05). The results showed that age, sex, and Socio-Economic Status (SES) were not significantly different between the two groups as they can be capable of influencing the depression score. Effect size was above the moderate level: d=0.51, d=0.72 for BDI and SCL-90-R-DE, respectively. Using two different depression instruments, the findings of this study showed that aesthetic rhinoplasty patients were more depressed in comparison with functional rhinoplasty patients. The measures of ES also supported the hypothesis that aesthetic rhinoplasty candidates had higher scores in depression.
