    NARRATIVE REPORT ON NUTRITION MONTH


    Nutrition Month is an annual campaign held every July to create greater awareness on the
    importance of nutrition among Filipinos.
    Every year, a theme is chosen to highlight an important and timely concern on nutrition,
    Nutrition Month campaign is on the promotion of healthy diets with the theme “ Healthy Diet
    Gawing Habit For Life”.
    The campaign aims to increase awareness on the importance of healthy diets which
    protects against both under-and-over nutrition and non- communicable diseases (NCDs) such as
    hypertension, diabetes, cardio-vascular diseases and certain types of cancer.
    A healthy diet, which is part of a healthy lifestyle, is the foundation of good health. It is a
    diet that is able to satisfy one’s energy and nutrient needs to proper body functions, growth
    development, daily activities and maintenance of health. Keeping well within one’s caloric
    needs. Hence, it takes into consideration both quality and quantity of food consumed by a
    person.
    “Health is wealth” a very famous saying that has huge and significant meaning in a
    human’s life. That’s why,human body can’t function properly without proper diet and literally
    can’t be productive in all aspects of life. Thus, Buntun Elementary School joined the annual
    celebration of Nutrition Month Celebration. So that every Filipino citizen will be reminded that
    good health habits and eating the right kind’s of food are of great importance especially when
    children’s nourishment is involved.
    The Celebration was started by a short opening program with all the pupils, Brgy. Officials,
    PTA Officers, Teachers, Parents and visitors of Buntun Elementary School. It was formally opened by
    a Prayer to be led by Mrs. Zenaida Liquigan a Grade V Adviser, followed by singing the National
    Anthem by Mrs. Jennifer Malana a Special Teacher. It was followed by a Words of Welcome from
    Sir Julieto Attaban our newly installed Deputy School Principal. Followed by Mrs. Lou Marie D.
    Miguel, our very supportive Principal II who formally gave her Opening Remarks. Our Public
    Schools District Supervisor Maam Myrna Q. Adduru induct all Club Officers. The Turn-Over
    Ceremony by outgoing GPTA President was also done. We also listen to the Inaugural Message of
    our new GPTA President Mr. Alforsino Turo.
    For the second part of the program, Judges: namely Mrs.Lailani Mangabat, SDO Nurse,Mrs
    Leilani Gonzales, President of Federation GPTA, Mrs. Rebecca Dayag, Barangay Health Nutritionist,
    and the Rep. Of Congressman Randy Ting and some Barangay Officials was also there. The
    contest proper works simultaneously. The highlight of the said celebration was the presentation of
    every grade level. Kindergarten ( A-1 Child), Grade I & II ( Batang Bibo), Gr. IV-VI ( Nutri-Jingle)
    Gr. IV,V,& VI ( Cook fest, Poster Making ,Slogan). Supportive parents also participated kinder to
    Grade Vi for the Cookfest.
    In line with the Nutrition Month Celebration 2017 “Healthy Diet Gawing Habit for Life”.
    Sponsored by Mrs. Esther Bunagan and Family , Congressman Randy Ting for the Sounds
    To officially close the program, a closing message was delivered by Mrs. Emerald Bauit
    Nutrition Health Coordinator. Mrs. Tessee Quizzagan and Mrs. Marilu Raymundo was the master of
    Ceremony. Generally, the whole nutrition month was successfully celebrated with a bang!.
    It might be the need of the month, but the essence of it will continue in the next
    succeeding months and forever be of great importance in the daily lives of the children and
    people in the society.
