Stephen Hawking has flirted with the subject of time travel, off and on, during his career but he is most famous for his argument that history should be safe for historians, due to the fact that although he has revisited the subject repeatedly, the nature of time, in particular - time travel, is his poorest subject. And so, when he suggests a theory that would prevent time travel due to the geometry of closed timeline curves, it is not surprising that it is a failure once carefully analyzed as he described it in his Discovery Channel special, Into The Universe with Stephen Hawking.

In this paper I will discuss the details of the Stephen Hawking announcement, that he believes that aliens could be in outer space that roam like nomads conquering planets to steal their resources and then move on to the next target. This completes an image that I have seen of Hawking, coming into greater focus, over the last couple of decades but which probably began before he completed his book, A Brief History of Time. The focus of a man who is fairly brilliant on one hand but in general, repeatedly fails where his brilliance should have allowed him to avoid his missteps, and instead has relied on making the cheap joke to get by with his failure to use scientific thinking. Simultaneously, I hope to bring the issue of alien life into a sharper, albeit, dispassionate, scientific clarity, while revealing an ironic twist to Hawking's clarion call warning of an alien threat from outer space. This will be the first in a three part series dealing with Stephen Hawking's positions on issues related to the nature of space and time.

ABSTRACT Avioding Hidden Assumptions While Thinking Outside The Box by Marshall Barnes According to the NASA Breakthrough Propulsion Program and the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts, the ability to think "outside of the box" in the quest for revolutionary concepts, whether they be in the area of exotic propulsion or some mission support area or aerospace design, has reached a critical juncture. Man will be regulated to travel within the solar system unless the technologies and delivery platforms are designed to allow for transversing extra-solar system, if not galactic distances. NASA's Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Project sought ultimate breakthroughs in space transportation and affordable, near-term, credible research. Toward that goal the BPP Project identified a method designed to force "one to look beyond existing methods and specify the technologies and sciences that are genuinely needed to solve the problem". However, years of heavy pressure over the flow of ideas in the scientific community, in as far as what is acceptable research, has atrophied the ability of even some of our best modern minds in math and physics to approach the level of imaginary thought required to develop such breakthroughs. The result, in part, has been a failure to recognize the trap of hidden assumptions. This presentation will focus on a number of examples from notable figures in science and math - Rudy Rucker, Stephen Hawking, Michio Kaku and Kip Thorne, and show how each failed to properly recognize key aspects of particular concepts in published works, resulting in false conclusions. These are all brilliant men, so if they can make such mistakes, it is an area worthy of review if we are to understand and avoid such problems in the future. If Man is to go vigorously beyond his immediate cosmic neighborhood, the shackles that constrict the ability and the willingness, of free form thought, must be broken once and for all; while simultaneously not ignoring the need for rigorous analysis and application of the scientific method to insure that those ideas that appear to be revolutionary breakthroughs do indeed become revolutionary realities.

As the COVID-19 crisis unfolds in the United States, there are two things that have stayed consistent over time. First, that the virus has hit minority communities hard, many times disproportionately. Second, there has been zero information released by the media or otherwise disseminated to the public concerning defensive measures that would help their immune systems stave off the virus. This lack of information could be a component in stopping the rise of contractions and likewise, the numbers of patients admitted to hospitals and potentially becoming fatalities.

As established in the December 2019 study, A Special Report: Temporal Escape, released prior to the Iran missile attack against US forces in the desert, the moving of the Doomsday Clock by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists to 100 seconds to midnight, and the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, the physics path to accomplish practical time travel to the past has been identified and a program to do proof of concept R&D testing has been estimated to cost a mere $100,000. Now, COVID-19 makes evident the need to take Temporal Escape seriously or risk extinction.

In 2000, Ronald Mallett, professor at the University of Connecticut, designed the foundation for what would become a provisional patent for what he claimed was a time machine. He used obtaining that provisional patent as proof that his idea was valid, however he never revealed the fact that he subsequently allowed the provisional patent to expire, thus never submitting the more rigorous design and technical explanations and claims required to obtain a full or utility patent.

In this paper, I will reveal an analysis of Mallett's basic design for a time machine, as well as the LOTART design in which it was applied for submission for the US provisional patent, showing inherent aspects that were missed by Mallett that present crucial, and critical breakthrough physics, that point toward a documented and viable alternative that would accomplish the purpose for which Mallett claims is the reason for his work-the achievement of time travel to the past.

Closed Time-Like Curves are one of the most abused and misunderstood abstractions from Einstein's theory of General Relativity. Though only a mathematical graph, with no known analog in physical reality, they have been called, "time machines" though there are no technological components to them, and have been theoretically applied to everything from exotic communication designs to computers. However, there is one key component, to these non-trivial anomalies, that has been completely overlooked-despite decades of analysis, debate and speculation-the fact that "time" is the main component of any closed time-like curve and as of yet, the physics community can't even decide on what "time" really is. This paper will formally introduce a new model of time, though it has been presented and discussed in prior works by the author. Here, however, it will be applied to the geometry of closed time-like curves, revealing that they are, in reality, nothing more than smoke and mirrors, leaving the concept entirely dissipated and broken.

This paper will deconstruct and analyze the closed time-like curve examples of Sean Carroll as he wrote them in the March 2010 cover story for Discover Magazine in relation to issues of entropy, determinism, and time travel paradoxes. I will then reveal the actual nature of how those space-time geometries would function, in contrast to the way in which they were described in the article. Topics include wormholes, black holes, Riemann slits, causality, and parallel universes.

Dedicated to Todd Harry Rundgren for his work between 1972 to 1980 as a technological and creative visionary, from whom the inspiration toward advanced, abstract thought and creativity ultimately made this research possible-and written for Nancy Edmonds Paull in memory of Ben Edmonds, who's reporting of Mr. Rundgren's activities lay the inspirational foundation for what was to come from me. Abstract For decades there has been confusion over the nature of time[1], retrocausality[2], and the nature of parallel universes[3] implied by the Relative State Interpretation of quantum mechanics (AKA many-worlds)[4]. However, beginning in May of 2016, I began a series of experiments testing a hypothesis I had-that retrocausality in quantum mechanics does not mean that the past has been changed, but instead a new parallel universe has been created that contains the result of the which-way-path change action which was initiated in the previous universe[5]. This new interpretation I call RetroWorldality, because there is no backward causation, but new worlds with a different past. What began as several separate and successful tests of this hypothesis, became over 20 different versions of these experiments (and ongoing) [6] which have now extended into testing the Relative State Interpretation itself-successfully, as well as the establishment of the conceptual foundation of five factors[7] stemming from the work of John Archibald Wheeler[8], Hugh Everett [9] and Rainer Plaga[10]. In this paper, I will unify the ideas of time, retrocausality, parallel universes, information physics and the Participatory Universe model, into one, self-consistent concept that resolves all of the paradoxes, issues and asymmetries in regards to temporal reality and project the trajectory of future technological breakthroughs, that are on the horizon, by using Todd Rundgren's song, Parallel Lines, to prove Hugh Everett's parallel worlds. Physicist John Archibald Wheeler was one of the most maverick thinkers-looking for meaning from the extreme implications of quantum mechanics. After studying the emphasis of the Copenhagen explanation of the double slit experiment, on what the observer knows and when, Wheeler realized that observation could seemingly control specific variables-in effect, a property could be selected after the fact and thus change the results of the experiment, regardless of how far in the past those results had been originally established. However, Wheeler wasn't taken seriously until it was conceptually proved true in 1984 in a laboratory at the University of Maryland by Carroll Alley, Oleg Jakubowicz, and William Wickes [11]. In this paper, two experiments will be discussed that take unique approaches yet to be attempted elsewhere that test, once again-both retrocausality singularly, and as a result of superpositional, probability state decoherence. These experiments are now formally named, the Todd Rundgren Parallel Lines/Parallel Worlds Project.

The book, Time Traveler: A Scientist's Personal Mission To Make Time Travel A Reality, makes the claim that Ronald L. Mallett, a professor at the University of Connecticut who has been promoted the world over for the last 14 years as "being closer than ever" to building the first time machine, filed a provisional patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on July 2, 2003 although no such record can be found online. Using a description of the device from the alleged patent filing, it is determined that issues regarding causality and descriptions of its operation are inadequetly dealt with, indicating a deficiency with regard to any rigor that such a concept would demand in terms of the knowledge and comprehension of temporal mechanics. Although this state of affairs is rampant in many theoretical physics papers, as will be shown, the fact that this is a technological claim on the part of Mallett, elevates the significance of both its relevance and the evidence for its deficiency. Now, a series of actual physical experiments by the author proves that the device described by Mallett would never work due explicitly to the physics of the conceptual structure on which it is based, and Mallett's demonstration of not only a total and complete lack of comprehension of temporal geometry, but a stated position of disinterest until his device is built, which invalidates his reputation as a "time travel scientist".

October 30, 2016, the web site for the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies published an article, "Breaking into the Simulated Universe" by Eliott Edge. An attempt to argue against the idea of escaping out of the universe, if it is a simulation, as some Silicon Valley billionaires are rumored to be considering. In this paper, I will reveal why Edge is completely and totally wrong, although he has made an impressive, credible, cohesive and cogent attempt to present a convincing proposition. However, the simulation hypothesis, upon close analysis, is indefensible by anyone because it is based 100% on assumptions, both hidden and otherwise, which in most cases are demonstrably wrong.

This paper will deal specifically with the concept of extending some of the contentions and theories of John Archibald Wheeler into a more complete description of reality, supported in part by physical experiments. The subjects that will be dealt with are well known from quantum theory, and now lately-Nick Bostrom's simulation theory, but will be seen through a new reinterpretation that connects seamlessly, prior positions of Wheeler into a self-consistent model that defines the nature of the physical universe through the convergence of information universe models and the Everett/Wheeler hypothesis. Hints will be given, as to how the reported desires of so-called Silicon Valley billionaires to leave the simulated universe, can be fulfilled using on-the-horizon technology to accomplish time travel through the manipulation of the information based fabric underpinning reality. In whole, the following will be major points discussed: 1. J.A. Wheeler posited that even the greatest mathematical equation in the universe is missing something, the principle by which it can become real. He also said, "no phenomenon is a phenomenon until it is an observed phenomenon. " 2. Wheeler developed his theory of "it from bit", explaining that the physical world was based upon information at a fundamental level 3. Seth Lloyd, taking that thought further, said that the universe acts like a giant computer processing the information contained therein. 4. Nick Bostrom posited that, in fact, our universe is a computer simulation created by our post-human descendants in the distant future. 5. Philip K. Dick science fiction writer and visionary, in his 1977 public statements mentioned, that due to to events in the past being "reprogrammed", things in the present could be changed so that an alternate universe splits off. 6. The universe is participatory, not just with humans, but everything else. *Just as various events cause a variety of phenomena, in the extreme cases, the universe responds in the extreme by producing alternate universes. This process resolves many of the issues related to quantum phenomena, parallel universes and time travel* 7. The detection of a simulated universe and escape therefrom is similar but not the same as doing so with an information universe. Escape from a simulated universe is impossible just as its detection may be. However, in this paper, a series of experiments will be presented that for the first time ever, establish such a possible detection as well as the method of ultimate escape from our information based universe.

It is stated that human behavior is unpredictable however, as will be noted by this paper, methods to improve psychological testing exist and should be considered. In addition, technocogninetic technology is in commercial development now that could greatly reduce psychological stress of long voyages, even solo, manned missions to Mars. Technocogninetics is the study of how devices affect human cognitive processes, as well as consciousness overall, and has been successful in analyzing and finding terminal flaws in studies from the Open University and Baylor College of Medicine. In this paper it will be proved conclusively that aside, from issues with meeting energy requirements demanded by Einstein's General Relativity and other issues to create a time machine using rotating ring lasers (topics already covered by Olum, Everett, Gott, et al) there are key and critical issues that will cause the failure of Ronald L. Mallett's time machine design, both in function and expectation of the effect, that it would cause in spacetime. These issues are part and parcel of Mallett's approach to time travel philosophically and thus not only dispel any notion of his design ever working, but also any notion that Ronald Mallett has anything more, than the most pedestrian conceptual understanding, to ever create a working time machine. With such respect, it is not possible, if left to his own devices, that Ronald Mallett will ever make a functioning time machine of any kind or description. Furthermore, the author knows and has discussed a number of related issues with Ronald Mallett, so this paper is not produced from a detached place of observation but with intimate knowledge of the subjects at hand.

Prof. Shengwang Du with his team consisting of Technology, conducted experiments resulting in the direct observation of optical precursors of heralded single photons with step and square-modulated wave packets passing through cold atoms. In a two-level superluminal medium, their results indicated that causality is maintained for a single photon, however their results were then misapplied as a proof that time travel to the past is impossible. Worse still, in some cases, the media then applied that misunderstanding to "faster than light warp drive" as well. Nothing of that kind is true. To the contrary the true application of quantum behavior to the issue of time travel is found in the retrocausal demonstrations as identified by the late John Archibald Wheeler in his famed delayed choice experiment, especially the "cosmic" or galaxy scale model. As for warp drive, the definition of faster than light doesn't even apply to the physics description of how warp drive functions.
