Summary form only given. It is well known that despite all of its advantages the digital revolution also leads to large variety of new risks. One principal issue in this context is the growing dependence of our modern information society from the availability and correct (proved) function of modern communication services. First, I'll give a short overview on threats in communication networks (grids, clouds, etc), protocols and secure personal devices. Then I'll discuss current network security approaches based on anonymous message exchanges within communicating systems. Cryptography was first used to ensure data confidentiality, it has been “democratized” by ensuring the safety of telecommunications services, thereby extending its scope to authentication of a person or device, or a message, non-repudiation, integrity but also the anonymity of transactions. The anonymity is sometimes quite important in the new telecommunication and mobile networks services, much more than just message confidentiality. The talk will focus on some examples and new approaches developed in our research laboratory to deal with anonymity in routing protocols for mobile communicating systems.

Recently, the mobile service providers have been growing rapidly in Malaysia. In this paper, we propose analytical method to find best telecommunication provider by visualizing their performance among telecommunication service providers in Malaysia, i.e. TM Berhad, Celcom, Maxis, U-Mobile, etc. This paperuses data mining technique to evaluate the performanceof telecommunication service providers using their customers feedback from Twitter Inc. It demonstrates on how the system could process and then interpret the big data into a simple graph or visualization format. In addition, build a computerized tool and recommend data analytic model based on the collected result. From prepping the data for pre-processing until conducting analysis, this project is focusing on the process of data science itself where Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) methodology will be used as a reference. The analysis was developed by using R language and R Studio packages. From the result, it shows that Telco 4 is the best as it received highest positive scores from the tweet data. In contrast, Telco 3 should improve their performance as having less positive feedback from their customers via tweet data. This project bring insights of how the telecommunication industries can analyze tweet data from their customers. Malaysia telecommunication industry will get the benefit by improving their customer satisfaction and business growth. Besides, it will give the awareness to the telecommunication user of updated review from other users.

This study is a systematic reviews research planned to achieve an in-depth understanding for the basic concept of service marketing. The world economy nowadays is increasingly characterized as a service economy. Developing nations have invariably experienced a shift from agriculture to industry and then to the service sector as the main stay of the economy. Particularly, in Jordan, telecommunications service provision in Jordan is considered a key component in the services-oriented economy (Central Bank of Jordan, 2017) which employs more than two-thirds of the country's labor force. Hence, this research represents a contribution for service marketing literature by highlighting the challenges that may face marketers within tech-based services marketing.

This paper describes an approach to detecting distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks that is based on fundamentals of Information Theory, specifically Kolmogorov Complexity. A theorem derived using principles of Kolmogorov Complexity states that the joint complexity measure of random strings is lower than the sum of the complexities of the individual strings when the strings exhibit some correlation. Furthermore, the joint complexity measure varies inversely with the amount of correlation. We propose a distributed active network-based algorithm that exploits this property to correlate arbitrary traffic flows in the network to detect possible denial-of-service attacks. One of the strengths of this algorithm is that it does not require special filtering rules and hence it can be used to detect any type of DDoS attack. We implement and investigate the performance of the algorithm in an active network. Our results show that DDoS attacks can be detected in a manner that is not sensitive to legitimate background traffic.

This paper analyzes how new mobile platforms change existing value networks in the mobile service industry and describes how mobile network operators (MNOs) can react to such changes to remain competitive. A state-of-the-art analysis takes stock of mobile platforms provided by, e.g., device manufacturers and Internet companies. The business model of and ecosystem around such platforms are examined. This includes application stores, which are often tied to a mobile platform and enable developers to distribute and monetize their applications. MNOs' efforts to open up towards 3rd parties by exposing network capabilities through APIs are examined. MNOs' joint efforts to decrease fragmentation of their platforms and application stores are analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis, several options for MNOs' potential role in a mobile service industry dominated by mobile platforms are discussed.

We discuss requirements and techniques for the service data point (SDP) in intelligent network (IN) architectures in telecommunications systems. The SDP must provide real-time, simultaneous access to high volume databases. We give a short overview of SDP requirements derived from currently developed and future IN telecommunications services

Mobile adhoc network (MANET) is a network of a number of mobile routers and associated hosts, organized in a random fashion via wireless links. During recent years MANET has gained enormous amount of attention and has been widely used for not only military purposes but for search-and-rescue operations, intelligent transportation system, data collection, virtual classrooms and ubiquitous computing. Service discovery is one of the most important issues in MANET. It is defined as the process of facilitating service providers to advertise their services in a dynamic way and to allow consumers to discover and access those services in an efficient and scalable manner. In this paper, we are proposing a flexible and efficient approach to service discovery for MANET by extending the work of Dante Arias Torres and J. Antonio Garcia-Macias (2004). Most of the service discovery protocols proposed in literature don't provide an appropriate route from consumer to service provider. Hence after services are discovered, a route request needs to be initiated in order to access the service. In this paper, we are proposing a robust and flexible approach to service discovery for MANET that not only discovers a service provider in the vicinity of a node, but at the same time, it also provides a route to access the service. We have extended the approach proposed in Dante Arias Torres and J. Antonio Garcia-Macias for efficiency by adding the push capabilities to service discovery.
