Conservatism in Turkey

ÖZET İslami Feminizm 90'lı yıllardan beri özellikle İslam inancının yaygın olduğu ülkelerde İslam'ın demokratikleşmesi ve kadın haklarının daha demokratik ve çağdaş ölçütlerde garanti altına alınabilmesi adına tartışılan bir söylem ve pratik olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Türkiye'de ise görece daha yeni olan bu kavramın kullanımı hem söylemsel hem de sosyo-politik alanlarda oldukça tartışmalı bir biçimde son on yıllık süreçte gündemimize girmiştir. 1980 sonrasında siyasal İslam'ın Türkiye'deki yükselişine paralel olarak hakları için mücadele eden ve temelde feminist olan taleplerini İslami bir paradigma çerçevesinde dile getirmeye başlayan kadınlar bu söylemin pratik bir tezahürü olarak yeni bir kimliklenme sürecine girmişlerdir. Ancak bu kimlik edinme sürecinin İslami Feminizmin genel söylemiyle tam anlamıyla uyumlu olup olmadığı da tartışmalıdır. Bu anlamda, Türkiye'deki Müslüman kadınların eşitlikçi bir söylem ve toplumsal düzen arayışlarının bir yandan İslami feminizmin genel söylemlerini takip ederken bir yandan da kendi yolunu çizmeye çalıştığı iddia edilebilir. Bu çalışma da tam da bu ortaklaşma ve farklılaşmaların ortaya koyduğu bir problematikten hareketle Türkiye'deki İslami feminizmin nasıl bir kadın kimliğini söylemsel düzeyde inşa etmeye çalıştığını son dönemde oldukça popüler olan ve iyi eğitimli Müslüman-mütedeyyin kadınların yayınladığı bir internet bloğu üzerinden (Reçel Blog) incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Öz Bu makale, Covid-19 salgınının dünya düzeninde meydana getirebileceği değişikleri ve bunların Türkiye üzerindeki muhtemel etkilerini konu edinmektedir. Güç geçişi teorisinin tasvir ettiğine benzer biçimde, rakip büyük aktörler arasındaki rekabetin yükseldiği bir dönemde başlayan salgın, uluslararası sistemdeki gerilimleri yükseltmektedir. Hastalıkla etkin mücadele edebilen devletler vatandaşları nezdindeki itibarlarını arttırırken, diğerleri meşruiyet krizleri yaşayabileceklerdir. Abstract This paper investigates the changes the Covidien-19 outbreak can create in the world order and their possible impacts on Turkey. The pandemic began in a period when competition among major rival actors of the international system was on the rise in accordance with what the power transition theory depicts. Now, the virus even deteriorates the already strained relations among them, especially between U.S. and China. Governments that can effectively fight the disease increase their reputation among their citizens, while others will experience legitimacy crises. It is expected that the impact of the virus on national economies will not be limited to short-term destruction and will make certain sectors and economic approaches more advantageous. Making predictions for the future by closely following developments at home and abroad, conducting scientific research on bilateral and multilateral relations and the security strategies of Turkey, as well as on domestic problems in political, economic, technological, environmental and socio-cultural areas, providing also decision-makers with practical recommendations, policy options, and proposals in line with the national interests are all included in the foundation purposes of Wise Man Center for Strategic Studies (BILGESAM).

This article focuses on the populist strategy of the Turkish Justice and Development Party between the 2007 presidential election, when Turkish politics experienced an impasse, and the 2010 referendum over the constitutional amendments. As a means of analysing populism, the symptomatic approach is preferred over other theoretical perspectives, including empiricism and historicism. An analysis of the discourse articulated by Prime Minister Erdoğan leads us to the conclusion that he has continually appealed to the masses with an anti-institutional rhetoric that divides society into ‘the people’ and ‘the elite’, thereby fulfilling the criteria of populism according to the symptomatic approach.

Muhafazakâr siyaset felsefesi, ideolojik keskinliği reddeden, bir teori olmaktan çok, pragmatik bir yaklaşım olup, kısa tanımıyla var olanın ideolojisidir. Muhafazakârlar, ütopik ya da idealize edilmiş bir projenin değil; gerçek ve var olan bir dünyanın peşinde koşarlar. Bu durum çoğu zaman pragmatizm olarak nitelense de; çoğunlukla pejoratif bir anlama sahip olan pragmatizm, muhafazakârlıkta bir zaaf değil; gurur, hatta iftihar vesilesi olarak görülür. Ayrıca muhafazakârlık, Aydınlanma ve rasyonalizm eleştirisi, modernite ve meta-anlatılara karşı oluşu gibi bağlamlarda varoluşçuluk, postmodernizm ve hermeneutik gibi akımlarla büyük benzerlik göstermektedir. Ancak muhafazakârlığın Aydınlanma ve rasyonalizm eleştirilerinde, Aydınlanmanın araçlarını kullanmak durumunda kaldığı, içinde barındırdığı irrasyonelliği rasyonelleştirmek için ikilem sergilediği eleştirileri sürekli yapılagelmiştir. Benzer şekilde muhafazakârların moderniteyi birçok yönden eleştirirken, onun ürünü olan araç ve nimetleri kullanma konusunda ikiyüzlü bir tutum sergiledikleri söylenebilir.
Bu çalışma, çağdaş siyasal akımlardan muhafazakârlığı siyaset felsefesi açısından anlamayı ve içinde bulunduğumuz tarihsel dönemdeki yeri ve geleceğini tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Along with the reforms of the Tanzimat, in order stop the decline of the Empire, Ottoman statesmen of the time developed new form of national identity (namely Ottomanism) that would include the Christian elements of the Imperial population. For the Muslims, who until that time had been the dominant element within the empire, this was seen as profoundly negative and many began to feel that their tradition position was under threat. However, blame for this lamentable situation lay in the eyes of many Muslims not with the Sultan but with the high level bureaucrats. The result of this discontent was the formation of the “Young Ottoman” movement from amongst the Ottoman Muslim population.
In traditional historiography, the Young Ottomans have either been regarded as the beginning of the revolutionary movement in Turkey or the Islamist movement.  It is this point that these views that this thesis will attempt to question. The basic premise of this work is that conservative which is a modern political ideology within the Ottoman context has its origins in the works of Ziya Pasha who was a member of the Young Ottoman movement.

Öz: Ülkemizde dindarlık ve gelenekselcilik etrafında şekillenen muhafazakârlık kavramı, her toplum ve her zaman dilimi için farklı anlamlar kazanabilmektedir. Toplumsal ve siyasal faktörlerden nispeten daha fazla etkilenen emek faktörünün muhafazakârlık olgusundan etkilenmemesi düşünülemez. Özellikle Türkiye gibi toplumun kendisini dindar ve geleneklere bağlı olarak tanımladığı ataerkil yapıya sahip ülkelerde kadınların işgücüne katılımını etkileyen etkenler arasında muhafazakârlık da değerlendirilmelidir. Çalışmada genel olarak Türkiye'de büyükşehirlerde kadınların işgücüne katılımını belirleyen etkenler, özel olarak da muhafazakârlığın etkisi havuzlanmış en küçük kareler yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmaya göre kadınların işgücüne katılımını belirleyen etkenler önem sırasına göre doğum, evlenme, muhafazakârlaşma seviyesi, yüksek eğitim ve boşan-ma seviyeleridir. Literatürün aksine büyükşehirlerde muhafazakârlaşma seviyesi kadınların işgücüne katılım oranını pozitif yönde etkilemektedir.
Abstract: The term of conservatism shaped by religiousness and traditionalism in our country can have different denotations for different societies or different time periods. Labor is comparatively more impressed by social and political factors, so it is impressed by conservatism. Conservatism should be evaluated as a factor that affect the female labor force participation especially for countries which defines itself as religious, traditionalist and paternalistic as Turkey. There are two main aims as general aim and special aim in the study. The general aim is to find out the determinants of female labor force participation in metropolis of Turkey. The special aim is to find out the effect of conservatism on female labor force participation in metropolis of Turkey. These two aims are investigated by pooled ordinary least squares method. Consequently, the determinants of female labor force participation in metropolis of Turkey are birthrate, marriage rate, conservatism level, higher education level, divorce rate. Unlike literature, there is a positive relationship between conservatism level and female labor force participation in metropolis of Turkey.

Bu makalede, Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’nin hem bir ideoloji, hem de bir tutum olarak muhafazakârlıkla ilişkisini ve bu ilişkinin genel olarak Türkiye’deki muhafazakârlığa yansımasını tartışmaya çalıştım. Türkiye’de muhafazakârlık müstakil bir siyasi harekete dönüşmüş olmasa da, İslam duyarlı taleplerin kamusallaşmasında, milliyetçilik gibi, meşrulaştırıcı bir söylem alanı sunmuştur. Merkez sağ ve milliyetçi partiler muhafazakâr değerlerin taşıyıcılığını yaptığı gibi, Türkiye’deki dini cemaat ve tarikatlar da muhafazakâr düşünceye eklemlenmiş, Soğuk Savaş dönemine hâkim olan antikomünist refleks de bunda etkili olmuştur. Kemalizmin konsolidasyonundan sonra ortaya çıkan statükonun gücü karşısında Cumhuriyet muhafazakârlığı vücut kazanmakta zorlanmış, Kemalizme ideolojik düzeyde muhalefet eden Bediüzzaman Said Nursi ise Risale-i Nur adı verilen eser külliyatı ve bu eser etrafında ortaya çıkan izleyici kitlesi ile (Nurculuk)ile İslami geleneğin tecdide dayalı ihyasını ve bunun toplumsallaşmasını pratikleştirmiştir. Bu pratiğin muhafazakârlıkla bir tavır olarak nasıl etkileştiği ve moral önermeleri itibariyle hangi ölçüde örtüştüğü tartışılarak, Türkiye’de dini muhafazakâr söylem ve pratiğin oluşması ile merkez sağ ve milliyetçi siyasi akımların muhafazakâr söyleminin teşekkülünde Risale-i Nur ve Nurculuğun rolü problematize edilmiştir. Risale-i Nur ve Nurculuğun muhafazakâr düşünce ölçeğinde karşılaştırmalı bir değerlendirmeye konu yapılması, dini düşünce ve hareketlerin tarihselleşme biçimi açısından bir deneme oluşturmaktadır. Nihayet muhafazakârlıktaki İslami bakıyenin cemaatler düzeyinde ve siyasi alanda aldığı biçimde, AK Parti’nin muhafazakâr demokratlığına özel atıfla, Risale eksenli düşünce ile Nurcu hareketin tesiri tartışılmıştır.

Ideology has been in the area of investigation of many disciplines throughout history (Jost, Federico, & Napier, 2009). In social and political sciences, examinations of political ideology (Jost, Nosek, & Gosling, 2008) were under the name of both liberalism (Waldron, 1987) and conservatism (Huntington, 1957). In this paper, considering Turkey's sociopolitical climate, conceptualizations of liberalism and conservatism are discussed. Moreover, liberal and conservative personality traits are analyzed within the context of Five-Factor Personality Theory (Goldberg, 1990). As part of philosophical and political arguments, Moral Foundations Theory (Graham et al., 2013) and Terror Management Theory (Greenberg & Arndt, 2011) are also dwelled on.

Résumé : Ahmed Arvasi (1932-1988), enseignant originaire du sud-est de la Turquie, a été chroniqueur du quotidien nationaliste Türkiye et a publié de nombreux ouvrages, constamment réédités, qui diffusent l’idéologie de la synthèse turco-islamique, vision nationaliste des rapports entre la Turquie et l’islam, dans leur dimension historique, culturelle, politique et géopolitique. Ses idées sont ici présentées à titre d’exemple d’un discours nationaliste, xénophobe voire raciste, très opposé à toutes formes de nationalisme kurde  ; il se nourrit du récit historique forgé par le nationaliste turc et revêt volontiers des formes anti-ampérialistes. L’islam y est présenté comme une valeur indéfectible de la nation turque. Les idées propagées forment un ensemble de lieux communs prêts à l’emploi dans le discours politique nationaliste-religieux.
Abstract  : Ahmed Arvasi (1932-1988), a native of South-East Turkey, originally was a teacher who wrote as a columnist in the rightist newspaper Türkiye  ; he published a set of books spreading an ideology known as the Turkish-Islamic synthesis, a nationalist vision of the relations between Turkey and Islam, in their historical, cultural, political and geopolitical dimensions. This paper presents Arvasi’s statements as a case exemplifying a nationalist, xenophobic and even racist discourse, strongly opposed to every Kurdish feeling  ; it is influenced by the historical narrative as it was moulded by Turkish nationalism, and is often anti-imperialist. Islam is seen there as an unseparable part of Turkish nation’s values. As they are widespread, these statements are part of a set of stereotypes, ready for use by the nationalist-muslim political discourse.

First of all, before looking at Turkish conservatism literature, I think it is important to first identify conservatism, then have a quick look at the short history of conservatism and neo-conservatism. At last, I will try to make a literature review of Turkish conservatism.

As protests spread and grew first in Istanbul, then in other parts of the country, we all struggled to conceptualize what we were witnessing. Many in Turkey opted for clear and neat narratives, which often left out other aspects of the protests and burdened events with legendary meanings ascribed onto them.

This thesis discusses the transformation of everyday life and consumption patterns of contemporary Islamist women who previously had marginalized and victimized images. Laicite as one of the founding principles of the Republic with its sui generis implementation brought a new and modern perception of religion, so the public visibility of religion was wiped away. In this era, modernization of woman’s appearance and woman body as display cabinet in which the image of the state could be observed, pursued as a policy and with her outdated and obscurant appearance, Islamist woman was marginalized and forced to the private space.
During 1980’s, the government‐backed rise of Islamic capital paved the way for both the emergence of a new bourgeois class and a change in Islamists’ relationship with the state. However, the closure of religious (imam hatip) secondary schools and prohibiting entrance of headscarved women to universities and public institutions as a result of 28 February coup, a publicly visible activist image of victimized women is created. In 2000’s, this image is replaced with an image of, capitalist, consumerist, intellectual, working and producing an alternative to the modernity of Kemalism, beyond her marginalized and victimized identities.
Today, different from previous times, capitalism that was declared as archenemy because of contradicting with Islamic values, absorbed quite simply and this situation brought about the debates of whether Islamism is passed away. This thesis discusses the new upper‐middle class Islamist women that live in Istanbul and the role of religion in the consumption patterns and references in terms of daily life experiences.

Allegations of ‘communitarian pressures’ remain to be at the center of social, political and cultural debates in Turkey. Such debates particularly increased after the rise to power of the AKP in 2002. Seminal sociologist Şerif Mardin argued that such communitarian pressures, dubbed as the “neighborhood pressure” (mahalle baskısı) constitute one of the dominant characteristics of the Turkish social texture whereby social difference is scrutinized by moralistic and watchful eyes of (Islamic) conservatism. While the neo-liberal ‘global city’ passionately promoted by the AKP increasingly strangles the ‘neighborhood,’ this latter at once seem to exert an intolerant oppression on social difference and multiculturalism, thus further eroding the bases of multi-confessional co-existence. As Istanbul gets ready to be the European Capital of Culture in 2010, it remains to be seen whether multiculturalism and multi-confessionality would only serve as rhetorical advertisement slogans to sell the city to a global clientele or could be revitalized as the bases of religious harmony, cross-borrowings and learning from one another. Perhaps, both the "neoliberal global city" and the "intolerant, repressive neighborhood" have a lot to learn from the Muslim women on headscarves visiting the First Tuesday Greek Orthodox Church in Kuzguncuk.

It is my distinct honor to present you Mr. M. Orhan Tarhan and publish here his – otherwise unpublished – article ‘The Holy Cow Democracy”. Few have Mr. Tarhan’s knowledge, life experience, perspicacity, and clarity; I believe all will see the current developments in Turkey better through the lines of this excellent paper.

Mr. M. Orhan Tarhan was born in Istanbul, Turkey, where he made his high school education in Turkey’s elite boarding school “Galatasaray”. He won a competitive examination that sent him to his chemical engineering education in Germany between 1937 and 1943. All his professional life he worked for steel industries, as operating engineer in a coke plant in Turkey and after 1953 as research engineer in charge of coke plants in the United States. He published several technical articles, 16 U.S. and foreign patents, and a book titled “Catalytic Reactor Design”. At Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he worked for a quarter of a century, research engineers were trained continuously in technical report writing. After retiring in 1982, he did several years of consulting and he taught one semester of Catalytic Reactor Design at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.

He learned French at 9, German at 16, and English at 24.

During his retirement he wrote articles in Turkish-American magazines on Turkey, on Turkish-Americans , and on the United States. At 2002, “The Turkish Times” stopped publication. At the urging of several of his readers, he started a newsletter that he is distributing by e-mail. He likes to hear comments on his articles.

Mr. Tarhan’s father was a class-mate of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk at the previous turn of the century at the General Staff School. They worried about the crumbling of the Ottoman Empire and tried to find out why Europe was flourishing.

They studied European history of the last three centuries and the French writers of the Enlightenment. They concluded, that to become survivable in the modern world, Turkey has to do everything Europe did during the last three centuries. They found also that Islam was part of the problem. After the Republic of Turkey was founded, Ataturk abolished the Caliphate, outlawed the Sharia part of the Koran, emancipated the women and changed the identity of Turkey to a Western nation. Mr. Tarhan lived during the wonderful years of Ataturk’s presidency and saw with his eyes how a backward, ignorant, Islamic nation was converted to a progressive, educated, laic, democratic nation.

Mr. Tarhan is the author of a newsletter titled “The Orhan Tarhan Letter” that is issued twice a month and is distributed by e-mail, The article called “The Holy Cow Democracy” is taken from the letter No.106.

Muhafazakarlık günümüz Türkiye'sinde sıklıkla tartışılan bir kavram haline gelmiştir. Muhafazakarlık konusunda iki ana yaklaşım vardır. Bunlardan ilki muhafazakarlığı siyasi bir ideoloji olarak ele alırken diğeri onu bireysel bir özellik, bir eğilim, tutum olarak değerlendirmektedir. Tutumlar bireylerin davranışlarını yönlendirir. Bu bağlamda muhafazakar tutumların da bireyin davranışları üzerinde belirleyici unsurlardan biri olduğu varsayılmıştır. Bu araştırma kapsamında muhafazakarlık, tutum olarak ele alınmış ve kişilerin sahip olduğu muhafazakar tutumların reklam kodaçımlamalarında belirleyici olup olmadığı ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında reklam kodaçımlamaları katılımcıların muhafazakarlık düzeyine göre ele alınmış ve bu doğrultuda 30 kişi ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Katılımcıların muhafazakar tutumları Muhafazakarlık Ölçeği ile ölçülmüş ve Lav Bardak reklamına yönelik kodaçımlamaları bireylerin muhafazakarlık düzeylerine göre içerik analizi yöntemi esas alınarak temalar altında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları aynı reklamı izleyen katılımcılar arasında muhafazakarlık düzeylerine göre farklı anlamlandırmaların yapılabildiğini ve bu anlamlandırmaların muhafazakarlığın ana bileşenleri ile benzerlik gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Muhafazakar tutumların reklam kodaçımlamaları üzerinde belirleyici bir unsur olabileceği belirlenmiştir.



Conservatism has been a frequently debated topic in Turkey. There are two main approaches to conservatism today: conservatism as a political ideology and conservatism as a personal attitude, choice and trait. It is known that attitudes shape individuals' behaviors, so it is assumed that conservative attitudes are a determining factor on these behaviors. This study deals with conservatism as an attitude and aims to explore whether conservative attitudes of individuals determine how advertisements are encoded. Conservative ideology which is a modern movement as opposed to Western modernisation emerged in the 18th century. Conservatism has been reshaped by various interpretations in different countries; states and the societies has been highly affected by this ideology. The concept of conservatism had an impact on politics and the society in the last period of Ottoman Empire which is not familiar to the West countries practices. Even the studies about conservatism has not been considered crucial for a long time, the emergence of Motherland Party and the Justice and Development Party which define their political view as democratic conservatism in Turkish political life have increased the number studies dramatically related to conservatism. In this study firstly, definitions and the characteristics of conservatism will be scrutinized according to different academicians. Furthermore, the fundamental principles of conservatism are examined and evaluated in detail. Lastly, how conservatism emerged in Turkey and what are differences and the similarities between Turkey and the West in case of conservatism will be analysed in dept. In the qualitative part of the study, the concept of conservatism will be discussed in case of Turgut OZAL who was the founder of the Motherland Party in Turkey. On the other hand, the common points of Motherland Party and Development and Justice party in terms of parties programs and leaders discourses will be put forth.

Muhafazakârlık nedir? Bu sorunun çağdaş politika ve ideolojiler
bağlamında 1980’lerden beri dünyada en fazla sorulan sorulardan
biri olduğunu söylersek yanlış yapmış olmayız. Bu çoğu zaman
politik pratiğin dayattığı bir soru oldu. Muhafazakârlık, “dünya
sistemi”nin merkez ülkelerinde olduğu gibi, Türkiye’de de iktidara
taşındı. Nihayet, 2002 seçimlerinden itibaren –en azından ilk
döneminde– muhafazakârlığa hakkında sempozyumlar düzenleyecek kadar bilinçli biçimde sahip çıkan bir siyasal iktidar tarafından yönetiliyoruz.

Fakat bu sarih tablonun bizi söz konusu soru hakkında aydınlattığını düşünmek, muhafazakârlığın 1980’lerden sonraki yüzüyle
tanındığını varsayacağından ve terminolojinin derinden kodlandığı politik kültür geleneklerini hesaba katmayacağından ötürü
yanıltıcı olabilir. Daha açık bir deyişle, muhafazakârlığın –uzunca
bir dönem– reaksiyonerlikle özdeş tutulduğu bir kültürel ve politik
dünyada yaşayan bizler için, bu ideolojinin mahiyetini kavramak
ilk bakışta göründüğü kadar kolay olmasa gerek.

The 1930s in Turkey is a highly controversial socio-political topic with two main competing interpretations: the liberal-positivists consider the 1930’s transformation as a progressive move whereas conservative-idealists regard it as a top-down break from tradition and history. However, there are other readings that bridge these two positions. To analyze one of these, this study establishes links between Mustafa Şekib Tunç (1886-1958), a Turkish psychologist and philosopher, the French philosopher Henri Bergson (1859-1941), the French sociologist Emile Durkheim (1858-1917), and the Italian philosopher Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937). It does this through the latter’s concept of “passive revolution” to contribute to the understanding of Turkey’s socio-political transformation during the 1930s. The main argument is that Tunç’s antiempiricist and anti-positivist philosophy, based on Bergson’s spiritualist and biologist-holisticism, meets with Durkheim’s positivist collectivism. This enables Tunç to interpret the 1930s’ passive revolution as a “conservative revolution” that found its expression in the formulation of the “unprivileged-classlessfused-mass” and an “organic society”. Tunç, following Bergson, conceives history and society biologically, as a socio-functional whole that helps mask sociopolitical divisions and struggles within the society.

This article explores the creation of consensus around official and unofficial anti-communist activities in Turkey by focusing on the weekly periodical Yeniden Millî Mücadele/National Struggle Anew (1970-1980) as a case study. The magazine described itself as a publication that was anti-communist, anti-capitalist, anti-zionist and respectful towards religious beliefs, and was associated with the national islamist organisation Mücadele Birligi (Union for Struggle). After a brief historical outline, the paper discusses some of the basic ideas of the magazine, and shows that these were intricately connected with the ideological struggle against the supposed cultural hegemony of the left. It then illustrates how National Struggle Anew took advantage of myths and symbols of the Ottoman and Turkish past in order to construct an anti-communist discourse and the image of the nation’s enemies. The investigation has been conducted through a conceptual analysis of a selection of articles that appeared in the magazine, mainly in its first year of publication.

This article explores the practices of Islam (dini vecibeler) within the Turkish conservative, middle class, Sunni families. It is believed by conservative people that the belief of Islam creates and ensures an egalitarian ground for all individuals, yet the practice of vecibeler differentiates between family members. My main aim in this article is to question how does the practice of vecibeler differentiates between family members. While questioning, with subquestions, I aim to reveal: what might be the reason for differentiation, how do mothers experience the differentiation, how mothers actually feel about the differentiation and how mothers come up with solutions in order to struggle with the issue.

Notre étude s'intéresse d'abord aux mécanismes narratifs par lesquels le parti s'insère dans une "filiation héroïque" entamée avec la bataille de Manzikert (1071) jusqu'au coup d'Etat manqué de 2016.
Nous nous intéressons ensuite à la "société conservatrice-idéale" dénuée de toute tension, de la "Nouvelle Turquie" mise en scène dans une diversité et une unité dont l'AKP s'attribue la paternité.
