Mobile Web 2.0

Mobile application technologies developing rapidly. There are numerous OS and system available in today's market. There are three types of main development methods in mobile application, which are Native, Web and Hybrid. These Hybrid mobile app technologies make easy to develop sound mobile application comparable to Native mobile application. These Hybrid mobile app technologies perform better compared to these native mobile app technologies. Hybrid mobile application technology provides flexibility for cross-platform as well as any mobile OS.

Ante los avances tecnológicos y el cambio en la forma de
consumir información, los medios de comunicación se
enfrentan a la necesidad de reinventarse, surgen nuevos formatos,
nuevas narrativas y nuevos productos de no-ficción
y periodísticos adaptados a la era de la multimedialidad, la
hipertextualidad y la interactividad, categorías claves para
entender el cambio en el ecosistema digital actual.
Este texto pone de manifiesto las nuevas posibilidades
creativas y de producción que se abren con la llegada
y expansión de las tecnologías digitales, así como con
el diseño y apropiación de las narrativas transmedia en
ámbitos socio-comunitarios y territorios locales. A nivel
metodológico y a través de la selección de cuatro ejemplos
representativos del webdoc o documentales interactivos y
transmedia, desarrollados en o con Latinoamérica (Beyond
the map, 2016; Mujeres en venta, 2015; Pregoneros de
Medellín, 2015; Webdoc transmedia: El Congost visto por
el Congost, 2015) propone una mirada a los cambios que
se vienen dando en el formato documental o reportaje de
no-ficción diseñado para ser consumido en la web, y en los
mecanismos, herramientas y tecnologías que tenemos hoy
en día para contar historias que rompen las estructuras tradicionales
de creación y
consumo audiovisual

While some conceptual studies have highlighted the impact that Web 2.0 technology and social media have on cultural industries, empirical evidence is still missing. Specifically, no study has considered the role of cultural bloggers, who mediate the information flows from cultural organizations to consumers. To fill this gap, this paper suggests and tests a model that explains blog readers' intentions to consume cultural products suggested by the blog. The findings from a sample of 215 cultural blog readers show that the impact of the blog on reader intention to consume the products suggested by the blog is strongly influenced by reader engagement with the blog. In addition, the results highlight the effects of content quality, enjoyment, and homophily. The implications of these findings for bloggers and for organizations communicating through bloggers are discussed in detail.

Media is everywhere and we live immerse “in” it (Deuze, 2012). Interface design is working on diluting boundaries between human and machines (HCI), incorporating the devices in our daily life by ful lling our motivations and, at the same time, generating interactions to arise them.
Wonder, love, hate, desire, joy, and sadness; the six primary passions of the soul described by Descartes (1649) are increasingly incorporated in the mobile interface design and construction of messages, altering the way our brain, and speci cally our memory, deals with general content and personal data.
It has already been proven the connection between emotions and health, being our brain the technology that links both (MIT). Also it has been recently demonstrated the relation between memories and place – process of episodic memory formation - (Meyer, 2014). Then, we have wearable technologies and media life, o ering constant motivations to our desires and feelings. Therefore, as much as they could ful ll them, we would incorporate them too in our routine. Thus, emotion and motivation seem to be key elements and technologies should work as our brain to stablish the proper connection between users and interfaces.

This research encompasses the construction of a multilingual lexical database for cross-lingual
information  retrieval  in  the  Indonesian  legal  domain.  Multilingual  lexical  database  featuring  lexically
and  legally  grounded  conceptual  representation  can  fit  the  cross-lingual  information  retrieval.  Lexical
database  use  Ontology  Web  Language  (OWL)  representation  language.  This  representation  is  useful  to provide application developers a high-quality resource and to promote interoperability.

The value proposition of mobile technology in the educational setting is expected to grow as forecasts speak to mobile Internet users exceeding desktop Internet users in 2014. A key concern for administrators will be how to implement a university mobile website that attracts students to use it. To answer this question, a scenario-based study of 288 U.S. college students was conducted involving two wireframes varying in interactivity. A PLS-based data analysis offers support for the positive effects of mobile interactivity on the perceived usefulness, ease of use and enjoyment of the university’s mobile website, which in turn positively influenced their intention to use it. The measurement model offered high explanatory power (i.e. 47% of the variance in the behavioral intention to use the university’s mobile website was explained by its three antecedents). Implications for both theory and practice are also discussed.

Las aplicaciones móviles ocupan la pantalla de los dispositivos de millones de personas, pero solo un 1% generan rentabilidad y el usuario no utiliza con frecuencia más de seis aplicaciones ubicadas en el escritorio de su dispositivo. Una revisión documental nos permite reflexionar sobre la evolución y la situación actual de la industria cultural y como diferentes estudios predicen la importancia de la tecnología móvil, de la movilidad y de la conexión permanente, tendencias que en la actualidad son una realidad. Una realidad transformadora del mundo digital, donde los contenidos son un valor fundamental para las aplicaciones pero que no generan suficientes ingresos y muy pocas empresas logran alcanzar la estabilidad necesaria de facturación de una línea de negocio productiva y consolidada, y cuando lo hacen es de forma temporal.

Sendo o turismo um dos setores económicos onde a informação desempenha um papel fundamental, é, também, um dos mais afetados com a chegada da nova realidade que são os media sociais.
Atualmente, devido à utilização generalizada de aplicações da Web 2.0 e, sobretudo, devido ao crescimento exponencial da utilização de aplicações de media sociais, verifica-se que esta utilização está a provocar alterações significativas na promoção dos destinos turísticos, com uma estratégia clara destes passarem a utilizar os conteúdos gerados pelos utilizadores na Internet.
Perante este novo paradigma, as Organizações de Gestão de Destinos, como organizações dinâmicas cujo objetivo é a promoção dos destinos turísticos, têm que se adaptar de forma a enquadrar esta nova realidade.
O presente trabalho pretende, pois, analisar a forma como as Organizações de Gestão de Destinos portuguesas utilizam a Internet, e em particular as aplicações da Web 2.0/media sociais nas suas estratégias de comunicação.
Assim, pretende-se fazer uma análise da situação atual em que se encontram as Organizações de Gestão de Destinos Portuguesas, na utilização deste tipo de aplicações para, a partir daí, se desenvolver uma proposta de modelo orientador para a utilização de media sociais nas atividades de comunicação com os turistas, que permita explorar ao máximo este enorme potencial.
Como resultado desta investigação, espera-se contribuir para uma melhor compreensão de como as Organizações de Gestão de Destinos Portuguesas devem usar as aplicações de media sociais nas suas estratégias de comunicação por aplicação da proposta de modelo desenvolvida.

Education today has gone digital and has created the need for players in the sector to appreciate the benefits of utilizing Web 2.0 technologies for educational purposes. This study set out to assess business educators’ awareness and adoption of adoption of Web 2.0 technologies for instructional purposes in tertiary institutions in south east Nigeria. Two research questions guided the study. Four null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Population of the study was 144 business educators teaching in tertiary institutions offering business education programme in south east Nigeria. A structured 5-point scale questionnaire was used for the study. The questionnaire was validated by one expert in ICT and two experts in measurement and evaluation. The reliability of the instrument was established using Split half method. Data collected in respect of the research questions were analyzed using mean of scores while t-test was used to test the null hypotheses. The results revealed that the respondents were moderately aware of the educational benefits of Web 2.0 technologies and adopted Web 2.0 technologies for instructional purposes to a very low extent. The result also revealed that age was a critical factor in business educators’ rating of awareness and adoption of Web 2.0 technologies for instructional purposes while gender, sex, years of experience in teaching and type of institution did not affect the respondents’ ratings. It was recommended, among others, that business educators should be abreast of all emerging technologies and be attuned to the contemporary methods and applications of web technologies in the instructional process.

The Web of Data is an open environment consisting of a great number of large inter-linked RDF datasets from various do-mains. In this environment, organizations and companies adopt the Linked Data practices utilizing Semantic Web (SW) tech-nologies, in order to publish their data and offer SPARQL endpoints (i.e., SPARQL-based search services). On the other hand, the dominant standard for information exchange in the Web today is XML. Additionally, many international standards (e.g., Dublin Core, MPEG-7, METS, TEI, IEEE LOM) in several domains (e.g., Digital Libraries, GIS, Multimedia, e-Learning) have been expressed in XML Schema. The aforementioned have led to an increasing emphasis on XML data, accessed using the XQuery query language. The SW and XML worlds and their developed infrastructures are based on different data models, semantics and query languages. Thus, it is crucial to develop interoperability mechanisms that allow the Web of Data users to access XML datasets, using SPARQL, from their own working environments. It is unrealistic to expect that all the existing legacy data (e.g., Relational, XML, etc.) will be transformed into SW data. Therefore, publishing legacy data as Linked Data and providing SPARQL endpoints over them has become a major research challenge. In this direction, we introduce the SPARQL2XQuery Framework which creates an interoperable environment, where SPARQL queries are automatically translated to XQuery queries, in order to access XML data across the Web. The SPARQL2XQuery Framework provides a mapping model for the expression of OWL–RDF/S to XML Schema mappings as well as a method for SPARQL to XQuery translation. To this end, our Framework supports both manual and automatic mapping specification between ontologies and XML Schemas. In the automatic mapping specification scenario, the SPARQL2XQuery exploits the XS2OWL component which transforms XML Sche-mas into OWL ontologies. Finally, extensive experiments have been conducted in order to evaluate the schema transfor-mation, mapping generation, query translation and query evaluation efficiency, using both real and synthetic datasets.

The unique attributes of mobile learning (m-learning) provide a new approach to learning, which requires a new theory. This chapter begins by explicating how mobile learning is unique from conventional tethered electronic learning and traditional learning. This is followed by a summary of criteria for consideration while creating an m-learning theory, with an analysis of the early proposed theoretical models for m-learning. Finally, the themes emerging from the proposed theoretical models are identified as context, connectivity, and time, which are nested within the concept of personalization, to make the argument that these are the essence of m-learning.

هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرُّف على الأساليب والتقنيات الحديثة المستخدمة في تصميم وتطوير المواقع الإلكترونية المحمولة، وقياس مدى جاهزية تصميمات مواقع المكتبات المصرية المتاحة على الشبكة العنكبوتية لمتطلبات إتاحتها وتصفح محتوياتها وخدماتها عبر الأجهزة المحمولة لجمهور المستفيدين منها، مستندة إلى المنهج الوصفي في تحديد الوضع الراهن لها، وتجميع بياناتها ومعالجتها وتحليل عناصرها الفنية تحليلًا دقيقًا لقياس جودة أدائها وتيسير إمكانات الوصول إليها وفقًا للممارسات الناجحة في صناعة المواقع الإلكترونية المتاحة على الشبكة العنكبوتية المحمولة. كما استخدمت الدراسة أسلوب (اختبار المواقع الإلكترونية) القائم على البرمجيات الجاهزة في تشخيص العناصر الفنية بتصميمات مواقع المكتبات المصرية، والكشف عن مواطن القوة والضعف بها وتحديد متطلبات تطويرها وتحسينها بما يمكن جمهور المستفيدين من الوصول إليها واستفادتهم من محتوياتها وخدماتها عبر أجهزتهم المحمولة المصاحبة لهم في أثناء تنقلاتهم وتحركاتهم المختلفة.

واعتمدت الدراسة في تجميع معلوماتها وتحليل عناصرها على قائمة مراجعة اشتملت على ستين عنصرًا متغيرًا تم تصمميها وفقًا لما استقراه الباحث من نتاج فكري منشور ومختص بتقنيات صناعة وتصميم المواقع الإلكترونية المحمولة، كذلك ما اشتملت عليه الأدوات التقنية المستخدمة في اختبار التصميمات الفنية لمواقع المكتبات المصرية المتاحة على الشبكة العنكبوتية العالمية. وكشفت الدراسة عن توافر اثنين وثلاثين (32) موقعًا إلكترونيًّا لمؤسسات المكتبات المصرية متاحٍ الوصول إليها عبر الشبكة العنكبوتية، وأن (59%) منها مهيأة لتصفح وعرض محتوياتها بما يتلاءم مع متصفحات الأجهزة المحمولة، كما أن (60%) منها قد اعتمد على أسلوب التصميم المتجاوب في برمجة وإنشاء صفحاته الإلكترونية، كما كشفت الدراسة عن التوجه الكبير لمؤسسات المكتبات المصرية نحو استخدام الإصدارة الخامسة من لغة صناعة النص الفائق (HTML5) في تكويد وبرمجة صفحات مواقعها الإلكترونية، في حين تفاوتت نتائج اختبار جودة أدائها وسهولة الوصول إليها، وتوظيف عناصرها الفنية لمتطلبات إتاحتها عبر متصفحات الشبكة العنكبوتية بالأجهزة المحمولة.

واختتمت الدراسة بعدة توصيات تطبيقية موجهة إلى كل من القائمين على تصميم وتطوير مواقع المكتبات المصرية المتاحة على الشبكة العنكبوتية، والأقسام العلمية لدراسات المكتبات والمعلومات بالجامعات المصرية، وأخيرًا الجمعية المصرية للمكتبات والمعلومات والأرشيف؛ لكونها المؤسسة المعنية بتنمية وتطوير قطاع المكتبات والمعلومات ومؤسساته المختلفة بجمهورية مصر العربية.

The proliferation of digital devices and online social media and networking technologies has altered the backpacking landscape in recent years. Thanks to the ready availability of online communication, travelers are now able to stay in continuous touch with friends, family and other travelers while on the move. This article introduces the practice of ‘flashpacking’ to describe this emerging trend and interrogates the patterns of connection and disconnection that become possible as corporeal travel and social technologies converge. Drawing on the concepts of ‘assemblages’ and ‘affordances’, we outline several aspects of this new sociality: virtual mooring, following, collaborating, and (dis)connecting. The conclusion situates this discussion alongside broader questions about the shifting nature of social life in an increasingly mobile and mediated world and suggests directions for future research at the intersection of tourism and technology

The Internet of Things (IoT) enabled users to bring physical objects into the sphere of cyber world. This was made possible by different tagging technologies like NFC, RFID and 2D barcode which allowed physical objects to be identified and referred over the Internet. Due to less complexity and low development and deployment cost of 2D barcodes, they have become modus operandi for building an IoT system. This paper explores the possibility of spamming the Internet of Things. It tries to establish that web spammers can use 2D barcodes to flood the physical side of the IoT, trick users to see or reach unsolicited and unrelated content over the Internet and possibly destroy the legitimacy of correct content. Preliminary results from an experiment establishing the possibility of the problem are outlined. This paper also proposes the use of digital signatures (ECDSA) to address the problem of spamming the IoT. A prototype implementation of the solution and its experimental results are given in this paper.

Storage networking technology has enjoyed strong growth in recent years, but security concerns and threats facing networked data have grown equally fast. Today, there are many potential threats that are targeted at storage networks, including data modification, destruction and theft, DoS attacks, malware, hardware theft and unauthorized access, among others. In order for a Storage Area Network (SAN) to be secure, each of these threats must be individually addressed. In this paper, we present a comparative study by implementing different security methods in IP Storage network.

As Web 3.0 is blooming, ontologies augment semantic Web with semi–structured knowledge. Industrial
ontologies can help in improving online commercial communication and marketing. In addition,
conceptualizing the enterprise knowledge can improve information retrieval for industrial applications.
Having ontologies combine multiple languages can help in delivering the knowledge to a broad sector of
Internet users. In addition, multi-lingual ontologies can also help in commercial transactions. This research
paper provides a framework model for building industrial multilingual ontologies which include Corpus
Determination, Filtering, Analysis, Ontology Building, and Ontology Evaluation. It also addresses factors to
be considered when modeling multilingual ontologies. A case study for building a bilingual English-Arabic
ontology for smart phones is presented. The ontology was illustrated using an ontology editor and
visualization tool. The built ontology consists of 67 classes and 18 instances presented in both Arabic and
English. In addition, applications for using the ontology are presented. Future research directions for the built
industrial ontology are presented.

In the past decade, museums have experienced a revolution with the arrival of new technologies, capable of enhancing their visitors’ experiences by introducing multimedia content. Amid these new technologies, website and computer-based interactives in the gallery have augmented exhibitions to provide additional educational material. However, the web is mainly suitable for access to information before, after or often even instead of visiting an exhibition or museum. A kiosk provides a physically fixed facility that can be used during a visit to an exhibition, but only for part of it generally. In contrast, a multimedia tour delivered through a handheld device allows the visitor to gain information at any point during the visit and in any order, without interfering with the aesthetics of the gallery. This means it has some unique properties that could be beneficial, if used suitably.

"Proponendosi come naturale ‘evoluzione’ del precedente lavoro intitolato “Il museo contemporaneo, fra tradizione, marketing e nuove tecnologie” (Aracne, Roma 2011), il volume inquadra inizialmente le problematiche riguardanti le ICT e il loro utilizzo nella fruizione e valorizzazione culturale. Si esaminano il fenomeno di Internet, le molteplici forme di digital divide ed il ruolo delle tecnologie del Web 2.0 a livello socio-culturale, con una particolare attenzione al sorgere della nuova branca di studi definita netnografia. Dopo un’analisi degli investimenti e dei progetti realizzati dall'Unione Europea e dal Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali italiano nella valorizzazione della cultura e delle istituzioni museali attraverso le tecnologie digitali, la ricerca si concentra sulle nuove tecnologie e sulle loro potenzialità nel campo dell'offerta culturale e museale. Partendo dalla classificazione delle molteplici definizioni di museo virtuale e di mostra virtuale, sono analizzati numerosi esempi di musei, di siti web museali, di musei e mostre virtuali; si affrontano, poi, il concetto di ‘museo partecipativo’, il ruolo dei social networks nella comunicazione culturale e quello dell’utente (prosumer) nella partecipazione alla produzione culturale. Sono descritti i dispositivi e le tecnologie applicabili nel settore dei beni culturali, utilizzati sia nel campo della fruizione museale remota ed in presenza (dal sito web ai palmari, dalle installazioni multimediali agli effetti speciali), che nella fruizione di tipo mobile. In quest’ultimo caso, si analizzano le tecnologie delle ‘etichette’ intelligenti (dalle tags RFId, ai QR codes, alle Microsoft e Custom tags, per finire con la tecnologia NFC). Sono analizzate, inoltre, le potenzialità, comunicative ed economiche, fornite dai social networks e dai geo-social networks. Il volume si conclude con un’ampia rassegna delle molteplici attività svolte dal motore di ricerca Google nel settore della digitalizzazione del patrimonio culturale, dei suoi softwares e delle loro applicazioni ed interazioni nel settore, da Google Maps a Google Art Project.

This volume is the natural 'evolution' of the previous work entitled "The contemporary museum, between tradition, marketing and new technologies" (Aracne, Rome 2011). The volume initially examines the phenomenon of the Internet, the multiple forms of digital divide and the role of Web 2.0 technologies in social-cultural life, with particular attention to the rise of a new branch of studies called netnografia. The research focuses on new technologies and their potential in field of cultural comunication and valorisation. Starting from the definitions of virtual museum and virtual exhibition, numerous examples of museums, museum websites, virtual museums and exhibitions are analyzed; then, the concept of 'participatory museum', the role of social networks in cultural communications and the user's (prosumer) participation in cultural production. The book describes devices and technologies applicable in the field of cultural heritage, from the website to handhelds, from multimedia installations to special effects. Technologies of 'intelligent labels' (RFID tags, QR codes, MS tags, Custom tags, ending with the NFC) are also analyzed and, in addition, the potential provided by social networks and geo-social networks. The volume concludes with an extensive review of many activities carried out by the Google in digitization of cultural heritage, from Google Maps to Google Art Project."

In spite of the great popularity which the mobile devices have in our days, the access to Internet through this type of devices is extremely limited. This due because Web sites have not been developed taking into account the characteristics and constrains from these devices in view of making the Web resources more accessible. Thus for example, the screen-restrictions, the low capacity of memory and storage, the communications
through no persistent connections, the high costs and the deficient bandwidth of connection, among others, these characteristics have restrained the visualization of Web
sites through mobile devices.
The present work tries “to put the Web in the users’ pockets”. In order to guarantee that the users can visualize correctly the Web resources, two things are needed: a mechanism that control disconnections and allow to visualize Web content without concerning the connection state of the device (hoarding), and a mechanism that adapts the Web content to the own characteristics of the specific mobile device (transcoding). In this work a tool that integrates these two mechanisms and allows improving the navigation experience of the users in the mobile Web is presented.
The goal of this thesis consists of which the Web resources are accessible independent of the device, when, where and how the users need. In addition, with this work it is possible to reduce the size of the Web resources when transcoding and hoarding them
on the mobile device, energy save of the batteries, as well as speed up access times to the resources, which with takes to diminish costs of accessing to the Web or per time air
or by volumen of information This aid to increase the access levels to the Web through mobile devices.

By theoretical analysis we regard web design as a digital, design field, which is inherently creative. That is why we analyse it on the background of research in creativity, design and new media.
We demystify the romantic view on creativity; analyse the componential, evolutionary and other views on creativity; find out that expertise and context are important for creativity.
By analysis of theories of design we discard the perception of a designer as a “decorator”; define design as solving “wicked” problems and as a distinct type of thinking which is suitable for integrating art and technology as well as for innovations in the post-industrial society. We also analyse the relation between design and the user.
We discuss code as “material” for web design. After the historical analysis of the evolution of Web we define an “axiomatic system” whereby we analyse Web. The axioms are: Web as a technological platform; Web as a new medium; Web as interface, consisting of code and the human side which exist in the broader socio-cultural context; Web as interaction design; Web as a work existing and changing according to the immediate (spatiotemporal) context of use.
With the analysis and axioms we elucidate why the current web design is responsive, “mobile first” and what role the mobile context plays. Finally, we discuss a future of web design.

This paper has the purpose of showing the viability use of Pocket PC (PPC) devices for its use as mobile servers. Within Distributed Systems Laboratory at cenidet a Proxy server was designed whose main characteristic is that it executes in this type of mobile devices. The obtained results conclude that the use of these devices in distributed computing and ubiquity computing applications are feasible as mobile servers with some considerations to be taken into account.

With the growth of data-oriented research in humanities, a large number of research datasets have been
created and published through web services. However, how to discover, integrate and reuse these distributed
heterogeneous research datasets is a challenging task. Ontology is the soul between series digital humanities
resources, which provides a good way for people to discover and understand these datasets. With the release
of more and more linked open data and knowledge bases, a large number of ontologies have been produced
at the same time. These ontologies have different publishing formats, consumption patterns, and interactions
ways, which are not conductive to the user’s understanding of the datasets and the reuse of the ontologies.
The Ontology Service Center platform consists of Ontology Query Center and Ontology Validation Center,
mainly using linked data and ontology-based technologies. The Ontology Query Center realizes the functions
of ontology publishing, querying, data interaction and online browsing, while the Ontology Validation
Center can verify the status of using certain ontologies in the linked datasets. The empirical part of the paper
uses the Confucius portrait as an example of how OSC can be used in the semantic annotation of images. In
a word, the purpose of this paper is to construct the applied ecology of ontology to promote the development
of knowledge graphs and the spread of ontology

The auditorium presentation was conducted simultaneously in the 3D virtual world Second Life, visible and audible on another large screen from a second computer at the podium, attended in the virtual world by avatars of educators in other countries. Numerous Web 2.0 technologies could thereby be shown both as objects and media of instruction.

El objetivo de este trabajo es utilizar las
recomendaciones para el diseño accesible de páginas Web y
aplicarlas para la correcta visualización de recursos Web en
dispositivos móviles. Se realizó un pequeño estudio tomando en
cuenta dichas consideraciones, obteniendo que es factible aplicar
dichas recomendaciones o prácticas de buen diseño para su uso
en dispositivos móviles. También se presenta una propuesta para
solucionar el problema de la correcta visualización de páginas
Web en dispositivos móviles.

Medialna infiltracja – media miejskie w przestrzeni i czasie

Streszczenie
Poniższy artykuł przedstawia relacje między nowymi mediami a miastem w wymiarze przestrzennym i czasowym. Proces medialnej infiltracji został przeanalizowany z wykorzystaniem kilku przykładów i ilustracji. Przestrzenna infiltracja została scharakteryzowana z wykorzystaniem stworzonej typologii, tzn. podziału na infiltrację fizyczną, wirtualną i rozszerzoną. W tekście przedstawiony został opis procesów indywidualnej i społecznej semiotyzacji, podobnie jak zjawiska widoczności, niewidoczności i quasi-widoczności elementów medialnych jako typowych właściwości medialnej infiltracji. Refleksja prowadzi do wyjaśnienia złożonych relacji między infiltracją przestrzenną a wyłaniającym się w wyniku użytkowania mediów hybrydycznym czasem. Tempo, rytm i przyspieszenie reprezentują kategorie wyjaśniające złożone relacje między mobilnością, czasowością i przestrzennością. Artykuł stanowi w większym stopniu analityczną eksplorację kreatywnych, społecznych i technologicznych możliwości nowych mediów miejskich i mediatyzowanych praktyk niż  krytykę ich skutków.

In a mobile setting, the user often browses the Web to consult information related to his current context and environment: e.g., reviews of nearby restaurants, or tourist information on visited monuments. On the other hand, the limitations of mobile devices (e.g., limited screen) and the peculiarities of mobile Web usage (e.g., walking around, driving a car) make it cumbersome to extensively browse a Web page for such useful information. In this paper, we present a client-side approach that aims to assist the mobile user in his browsing session, by correlating the Web page’s content with the mobile user’s context, and subsequently emphasizing and enriching relevant content with so-called context-sensitive cues. To achieve this, we utilize the SCOUT framework for mobile applications to model and access the user’s context, and RDFa annotations present on existing Web pages to identify Web page elements suitable to enrich with context- sensitive cues. The cues themselves are injected using existing adaptation techniques, borrowed from the field of Adaptive Hypermedia.

Purpose – This paper seeks to identify and develop an exploratory framework for conceptualising how teachers might use the affordances of Web 2.0 technologies to support their own professional learning.

Design/methodology/approach – The paper draws on a large corpus of literature and recent research evidence to identify the principal elements and features of professional learning and the underlying affordances of Web 2.0 technologies and applications. It generates an exploratory conceptual framework based on the emerging findings from this review using a socio-cultural theoretical perspective. The framework is explored through three individual illustrations which are drawn from a much larger case study which the author is undertaking within a newly established Academy in the North of England.

Findings – The findings indicate that there is potential value in exploring professional learning with Web 2.0 technologies in the ways described. The framework offers an exploratory instrument to examine how professional learning for teachers could be supported with Web 2.0 technologies in ways that might have significant benefits over traditional methods of continuing professional development (CPD).

Originality/value – The potential value and affordances of Web 2.0 technologies for teachers' professional learning are largely unexplored and under-theorised, and this work seeks to establish a framework for further discussion and empirical exploration.

Kebutuhan akan tempat kost terus bertambah seiring padatnya jumlah pelajar atau calon mahasiswa yang hendak berkuliah pada sebuah universitas. Banyak pelajar yang merantau dari luar daerah membutuhkan tempat kost dan sebagian besar mencari tempat kost yang dekat dengan kampus. Minimnya media digital yang tersedia sebagai portal informasi tempat kost menjadi faktor yang mempersulit para pelajar dalam menemukan tempat hunian sementara yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pelajar tersebut. Web Aplikasi pencarian tempat kost ini didesain agar memiliki tampilan responsif sehingga dapat merespon dengan baik browser yang digunakan pada perangkat mobile milik pengguna. Aplikasi telah diintegrasikan menggunakan fitur API Google Maps yang dimasukkan ke dalam pembuatan sistem web aplikasi sehingga dapat menampilkan peta posisi dari lokasi tempat kost yang dicari pengguna. Selain itu aplikasi dapat mempresentasikan foto dari tempat kost dan rincian data fasilitas yang dipublikasikan oleh penyedia tempat kost..
