Highly competitive industrial environment in modern manufacturing world demands extremely productive work force as well as automated production resources, which can contribute keeping manufacturing costs on lower end. In this regard, proper selection of computer numerical machine (CNC) as a manufacturing machine tool; well known for higher production rates along with minimum rejections, better accuracy and repeatability is of immense importance for the organizations. The main and basic challenge in CNC selection is to find a unique logical value, representing manifold conflicting decision criteria for available alternatives. In this study, PROMETHEE III (preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation) method is applied to solve a complex CNC machine selection problem. The results obtained in the study are then compared to the previously published results in the literature and found analogous to them.

A literature review showed that finance is a driver of sustainability. However, to achieve sustainability through finance, it is necessary to rebuild and adapt the financial system to the specifics of sustainable development. In the turn of the 20th century, numerous theatre directors focus on the representation of mythological figures such as Prometheus. In these performances we no longer receive the text of Aeschylus but mostly the images that the directors allow us watch and interpret. Approaching the unconscious of the spectator, these images are an act of purifying the imagination, a process by which, the artists virtualize their personal mythologies. Distinguished theatre directors such as Robert Wilson, Rodrigo Garcia and Jan Fabre have worked on the ancient Greek myth of Prometheus, attributing a primal substance to elements such as the actor’s body and the visual scenery.

Even though recent studies designate that sustainability should be integrated in project management, this integration remains a complex issue. Hence, there is a need to develop a new approach that would assess the organizational sustainability and reveal to what extent sustainable project management practices are effective. More than 20 years after presenting his first interpretation of the mosaic from the House of Aion in a paper entitled “Uwagi na temat mozaiki z Domu Aiona w Nea Paphos (Cypr)” (Meander 9/10, 1987, p. 421-438, in Polish, and translated to English: « The Immortality of the Human Soul and the Dionysiac Mysteries in the 4th Century Allegory [in Connection with the Interpretation of the Mosaic from the “House of Aion” at Paphos in Cyprus]»), where he proposed reading the five mythological panels (1. Leda and Zeus; 2. Dionysus on Mount Nysa; 3. The Dionysian thiasos; 4. Apollo and Marsyas; 5. The Apotheosis of Cassiopeia) as an allegory of the destiny of the human soul and body, starting with conception and ending with the liberation of the soul and its apotheosis, the author now enhances his initial interpretation with numerous reflections concerning the historical context of this work of art, created in the years 320-360.
If, according to the author, the mosaic is a “Hymn” in honour of the pagan gods, Man (his soul) and his place in the (pagan) universe, then at the same time it polemicises with the Christian faith and its God, Jesus Christ.
The author puts forward numerous new solutions relating to the mosaic’s iconography and iconology. Analysis of the mosaic also leads him to propose a solution to the as-yet unanswered question regarding the absence of images of the crucified Christ in Christian art of the 3rd and 4th centuries, up until 420/430, when the first images of Christ on the cross appear.

As Arran Gare highlights in his Foreword to the volume, “as an alternative to the fashionable quest for general connectivity ‘that cannot be deemed a true solution to the worldlessness to which our pretension to submit everything to our will has inevitably carried us,’ [I] argu[e] for a return to the notion of cosmos,” understood less as "order" than as a meaningful articulation of the possible based on being’s differential "gleaming."

My paper thus aims at reassessing three of fire's most thought-provoking metaphors throughout the history of Western thought, from Heraclitus to the present. It shows that fire functions as a conceptual figure for the analysis of human situatedness. Each image is extracted from a series of texts, referred to a conceptual issue, and explored in relation to a contemporary discussion. The first is Kosmos; the issue, physis and time; the texts, Heraclitus's and Parmenides's fragments; the discussion turns around Bachelard's, Deleuze's, and Severino's interpretations of the present. The second is Hybris; the issue is the replacement of physis by technology; the texts, Aeschylus's Prometheus and Heraclitus's fragments; the discussion turns around modern misrepresentations of Prometheus. The third is Innigkeit; the issue is that of the re-tuning in to physis; the texts are Empedocles's and Heraclitus fragments, Hölderlin's Empedocles and Essays, and Heidegger's The Origin of the Work of Art; the discussion turns around Hegel's sources and legacy, with a reference to works of Malabou and Negarestani reread in light of Lyotard's The Postmodern Condition. The paper concludes with a brief reflection on hybris and the Anthropocene.

Ayrıca PROMETHEE veri giriş matrisinde Maliyet (Sipariş Maliyeti) kriterine ait kesin tercih eşiğinin (P – Preference) ve farksızlık değerinin (Q – Indifference) azaltılması ve arttırılması durumları analiz edilmiştir. AHP ve PROMETHEE I – II yöntemlerinin adımlarına ait hesaplamalar için Microsoft Excel 2013 ve Visual PROMETHEE paket programları kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda AHP ve PROMETHEE I – II yöntemleri ile işletmenin mevcut tedarikçileri arasında en yüksek puana sahip tedarikçi belirlenmiş ve çeşitli öneriler getirilmiştir. For the interpretation of mythological subjects In the Roman funerary art the author systematically applies the analysis of the Key of Dreams by Artemidorus of Daldis, Greek author of the Antonine period. The funerary art was studied before by F. Cumont and A.D. Nock, and they both discussed also some dreams chosen from the manual of Artemidorus. The comparison of the principles of the analysis of dreams (mental images) with the principles that we encounter in the iconography gives interesting results. This approach has never previously been attempted. To support his argument, the author studies not only numerous decorated sarcophagi but also a series of funerary inscriptions.

Observations about several Christological interpretations of Prometheus, especially from the beginning of the Romantic age to the first years of 20th Century. Among the authors taken into account are J.W. Goethe, P.B. Shelley, E. Quinet, E. Grenier, L. Ménard, M. Rapisardi, L.-V. Ackermann, F. Nietzsche, J. Péladan, I. Gilkin and S. Weil.

Working with the theories of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche about the origin of the Greek tragedy, from the spirit of the music, to how the crowning moment of the Delphic Festival, the poet Angelos Sikelianos and his wife Eva Palmer, in the year of 1927, brought Aeschylus´ Prometheus Bound to the stage, combining poetry, music, dance and acting in the process. This play would then be immortalized by one of the greatest directors of European cinema, Demetrios Gaziadis, who manages to adapt an ancient Greek tragedy for the first time with his film, turning it into a model for other great cinematographers, who will ensure that this movie genre will continue to develop until it consolidates the decade of the sixties of the twentieth century (Tsavelas, Cacoyannis). In this process the films will break away from the rigid theatrical conventions, conveying more realism and moving closer toward the interests of the audience.

Lean production has become an integral part of
the manufacturing landscape as its link with superior performance
and its ability to provide competitive advantage
is well accepted among academics and practitioners. Lean
production helps producers in overcoming the challenges
organizations face through using powerful tools and enablers.
However, most companies are faced with restricted
resources such as financial and human resources, time, etc.,
in using these enablers, and are not capable of implementing
all these techniques. Therefore, identifying and
selecting the most appropriate and efficient tool can be a
significant challenge for many companies. Hence, this literature
seeks to combine competitive advantages, lean
attributes, and lean enablers to determine the most appropriate
enablers for improvement of lean attributes. Quality
function deployment in fuzzy environment and house of
quality matrix are implemented. Throughout the methodology,
fuzzy logic is the basis for translating linguistic
judgments required for the relationships and correlation
matrix to numerical values. Moreover, for final ranking of
lean enablers, a multi-criteria decision-making method
(PROMETHEE) is adopted. Finally, a case study in automotive
industry is presented to illustrate the implementation
of the proposed methodology.

The decision-making process regarding the choice of alternative energy technologies is multidimensional, made up of a number of aspects at different levels, economic, technical, environmental and social. This paper uses a multicriteria decision making model, PROMETHEE II, to determine the best fuel mix for electricity generation in an isolated Greek island, Lesvos. Having analyzed the energy profile of the island, a set of 7 energy policy scenarios are determined and assessed against economic, technical, environmental and social criteria. The energy policy scenarios include the use of conventional fuels, wind energy and natural gas, in its liquid form, liquefied natural gas (LNG). Weighting of criteria is carried out according to three different perspectives, each one focusing on sustainability, economic and environmental/social benefits. Two sensitivity analyses are performed taking into account the fluctuations of the electricity demand and the fluctuations of the fuel prices.

Ο Προμηθεύς ως τραγικός ήρωας και σύμβολο αντίστασης έχει κερδίσει πολλάκις το ενδιαφέρον του θεάτρου της εποχής μας. Στο άρθρο εξετάζονται σκηνικές εκδοχές όπως του Bob Wilson, του Rodrigo Garcia και του Jan Fabre. Κοινός παρονομαστή των παραστάσεων είναι η χρήση του κειμένου ως πηγής έμπνευσης και, μέσω της επεξεργασίας του, η ανάδειξη της προσωπικής αντίληψης των δημιουργών τους για τον μύθο.

On peut distinguer trois sortes de culpabilité : une culpabilité surmoïque bien connue, une culpabilité œdipienne plus ou moins reconnue, et une culpabilité prométhéenne plutôt méconnue. Ces trois sortes de culpabilité sont nommées, décrites, et rattachées aux instances correspondantes de l’appareil psychique. Les défaillances de la vulgate freudienne sont suppléées en ce domaine par des avenants jungiens, et par l’apport original de poètes et de romanciers perspicaces : Eschyle, Sophocle, Dumas, Mary Shelley, Emily Brontë, Baudelaire, Zola, Rider Haggard, Stevenson, Villiers de l’Isle-Adam, etc.

У оквиру научног скупа "Андрић и религија" (2020), разматрамо на који начин Андрић у приповеци "Писмо из 1920. године" развија критику религије, и то повезујући сложене концепте 'Јевреји', 'конверзија' 'Ернст Хекел', 'Прометеј', 'атеизам', 'Каин (и Авељ)' и 'Шпански грађански рат' у две супротстављене изотопије: /верска мржња/ и /а(нти)теизам/. Исто тако, значајан део писма Макса Левенфелда представља отворену критику међуконфесионалне братске мржње у Босни. Наша анализа показује да верска мржња проистиче из изостанка аутентичног верског искуства, и ту унутар верског система који преузима ауторитет самог Бога.

Dans le cadre du colloque „Andrić et la religion“ (2020), nous étudions comment Andrić développe sa critique de la religion dans la nouvelle „Une lettre de 1920”, en reliant les concepts complexes ‘Juifs‘, ‘conversion‘, ‘Ernst Haeckel‘, ‘Prométhée‘, ‘athéisme‘, ‘Caïn (et Abel)‘ et ‘guerre civile espagnole‘ en deux isotopies opposées : /haïne religieuse/ et /a(nti)théisme/. D‘un autre côté, un segment important de la lettre de Max Loewenfeld développe une critique ouverte des haines interconfessionnelles et, en même temps, fraternelles en Bosnie. Notre analyse de la haine religieuse montre qu‘elle résulte de l‘absence d‘une expérience spirituelle authentique, au sein d‘un système religieux qui s‘octroie l‘autorité de Dieu.

Supplier selection is very important for a company to be successful in a globalized competitive environment. The aims
at choosing the optimal supplier; to increase customer satisfaction, improve the competitive ability and continue to
exist at minimal cost. This study was intended to choose the most suitable raw material supplier in a company engaged
in the production of agricultural tires. In the study Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Promethee I-II methods
were applied in order to select the most optimal supplier to a company. In conclusion, AHP and Promethee I-II methods
used by the company to determine the suppliers with the optimal supplier and brought several recommendations.

Salah satu program yang dilakukan oleh pihak SMA Methodist 1 untuk memacu dan mencerdasakan anak-anak didiknya adalah menyeleksi anak didiknya dan mengelompokkan ke dalam kelas unggulan, hal ini dilakukan  secara rutin setiap tahunnya. Dalam menyeleksi siswa-siswi kelas uggulannya,, hingga saat ini panitia yang ditunjuk sekolah dalam meyeleksi siswa-siswi, proses yang dilakukan masih bersifat manual/klasik, sehingga pengambilan keputusan yang dilakukan terkadang tidak objektif atau masih bersifat subjektif.
Untuk membantu penyelesaian masalah yang dihadapi oleh sekolah SMA Methodist 1 Medan, penulis merancang sebuah aplikasi sistem pengambilan keputusan dengan menggunakan metode promethee sebagai formulanya untuk mengolah seluruh data yang dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam pengambilan keputusan. Promethee merupakan salah satu metode yang umum digunakan untuk perengkingan dalam menentukan keputusan dari beberapa kriteria, di mana semua data value dari setiap kriteria yang diperoleh berdasarkan penilaian test diolah menjadi satu sehingga menghasilkan bobot penilaian terhadap hasil tes.
Sistem ini akan menghasilkan output berupa siswa kelas unggulan sesuai dengan quota yang diiginkan, yang dirangking berdasarkan netflow terbesar hingga terkecil.

The construction sector has always been one of the main developmental branches of the Greek economy. Building activities and infrastructure projects were the backbone of the construction sector, while other activities from the mining, manufacturing, commerce and services sectors were integrated into the wider supply chain of construction. The aim of the present study is to firstly evaluate the performance and then rank the greatest construction companies, listed in the Athens Stock Exchange, using investment ratios. The research focuses on the period 2004-2014. Four companies are selected that are listed in Athens Stock Exchange and have a construction certificate of the 7th degree for public projects. The applied multi-criteria methodology was PROMETHEE. The latter was implemented using the Visual Promethee software, in order to rank the selected companies. It is concluded that during the period 2004-2008, leading companies are those which their consolidated financial statements outweigh their corporate financial statements, whereas after 2008 when the financial crisis commenced, leading companies are regarded those which their consolidated financial statements are approximate to their corporate financial statements. 72 P. He worked for a number of years at various institutes and has organised and participated in a number of international scientific conferences and workshops. He has published papers in international scientific peer refereed journals like the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Regional Studies, European Journal of Operational Research, PNAS and participated in many research projects in FP6, FP7, Interreg and COST; he served also as a member of the TDP panel and CSO of COST. Currently, he serves at the coordination board of the EURO Working Group of Decision Support Systems. His research interests include decision support systems, operational research and multi-criteria decision making.

One of the most signifi cant factors in the estimation of dimension stone quarry cost is the production rate of rock cutting machines. Evaluating the production rate of chain-saw machines is a very signifi cant and practical issue. In this research, it has been attempted to evaluate and select the suitable working-face for a quarry by examining the maximum production rate in the Dehbid and Shayan marble quarries. For this purpose, fi eld studies were carried out which included measuring operational characteristics of the chain-saw cutting machine, the production rate and sampling for laboratory tests from seven active case studies. Subsequently, the physical and mechanical properties of rocks including: Uni-axial Compressive Strength (UCS), Brazilian Tensile Strength (BTS), Los Angeles abrasion, quartz content, water absorption percentage, porosity, Schmidt hardness and grain size for all sample measurements were studied after transferring the samples to a rock-mechanics laboratory. Finally, the sawability of the quarried working-faces was evaluated using the PROMETHEE multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model according to the physical and mechanical properties. The results of the study indicated that the number 1 and 5 working-faces from the Dehbid and Shayan quarries are the most suitable working-faces in terms of production rate with the maximum recorded production values (4.95 and 3.1 m 2 /h), and with net fl ow rates (2.67 and-0.36) respectively.

Prometheus is one of the main characters of Greek mythology. As trickster, rebel, prótos heuretés, and aitíon of several human features and behaviours, his figure has been developed throughout Greek literature, from its origins through to modern Western culture. In this paper we deal with one of the less-attended stages of that tradition, that of the so-called Imperial Greek literature, by focusing on some of the most interesting references to the Titan that break down the boundaries between paganism and Christianity.

Natural gas as a primary fossil fuel, will grow faster than both oil and coal for the next decades and distinguishes by its lower environmental impact in comparison to other conventional fuels. Natural gas in its liquid form (Liquified Natural Gas), grows seven times faster than pipeline gas. It is, usually, transferred using liquified natural gas carriers stored in cryogenic tanks. A crucial problem in this field is the selection and the evaluation of liquified natural gas export terminals in different countries (liquified natural gas suppliers). The paper attempts to propose a decision support model specialized for this type of problem, adopting green logistics optimization tools as prescribed in circular economy philosophy. A multicriteria analysis, using Promethee II method, is carried out, evaluating all the potential export terminals and studying the case study of Greece. The approach is based on selected criteria in the fields of economic supply, low environmental impact of transportation, satisfaction of technical specifications and the current and future availability of supply. The evaluation procedure includes the ranking of different preference scenarios. The obtained results showed that there are advantageous liquified natural gas supply options for Greece, like Egypt, Algeria, Libya and Norway, with good performances in almost all the criteria. By adopting the proposed methodology, national and commercial decision makers could take advantage to assess future consortiums.

Dans les deux cas, il s’agit d’abord d’un être humain artificiel inanimé. Pandore, la sculpture d’ivoire du sculpteur célibataire, parée de tous les artifices, prendra vie grâce au truchement de la déesse Aphrodite. De nos jours, point d’intervention divine, les poupées en silicone – longtemps resté des objets inanimés – sont désormais capables d’adopter toutes les postures du corps humain, de parler et même d’avoir des conversations (!) grâce à un concentré de technologie. De l’inanimé rendu vivant par le divin du mythe à la poupée moderne, objet animé par le truchement de la technologie, comment en est-on arrivé là ? Si le mythe de Pygmalion et de sa créature Pandore, que ce soit chez Hésiode ou Ovide, reflète avant tout la profonde misogynie des Anciens et la méfiance farouche vis-à-vis des femmes, les sex dolls actuelles faites avant tout pour répondre aux désirs des hommes ne semblent peut-être pas si éloignées de leur ancestrale consœur mythique à valeur archétypale. À l’heure où, parmi les faits divers, au Japon, un homme quitte sa femme pour vivre au quotidien et avoir des rapports intimes avec une poupée en silicone, la réalité semble dépasser le mythe. D’ailleurs, il est intéressant de rappeler que si Pygmalion avait choisi de fabriquer cette créature plutôt que de s’unir avec une femme de chair et de sang, c’était avant tout pour se prémunir de la nature vicieuse des femmes. Ce trait n’est pas sans faire écho aux paramétrages des programmateurs modernes des logiciels de ces poupées en silicone dont les conversations sont bridées afin que celles-ci ne soient jamais méchantes, cruelles ou égoïstes.

A literature review showed that finance is a driver of sustainability. However, to achieve sustainability through finance, it is necessary to rebuild and adapt the financial system to the specifics of sustainable development. Modern financial systems can be described as one-dimensional, focusing on ensuring the economic security of transactions. Meanwhile, the growing role of risk related to non-financial factors means that the factors referred to as ESG (environmental, social, governance) become the main source threatening the stability of financial systems. Adaptation activities toward the design of so-called three-dimensional financial systems rely on incorporating ESG risk into the financial decisions of the financial institutions that make up the financial system. This is found, among other factors, in the risk assessment methodology. The general goal of the paper is to investigate which ESG criteria are incorporated into the decision-making process of financial institutions and to verify the level of sustainability of financial systems in selected OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries. The main research hypothesis assumes that incorporating ESG factors into the decision-making process of financial institutions makes financial systems more sustainable. A two-stage research procedure was used to achieve the research goal. In the first stage, to determine the ESG factors that affect the level of sustainability of financial systems and identify dependencies between ESG factors incorporated by financial institutions into the decision-making process, a fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) was used. The collective map elaborating on the basis of the opinions of experts participating in the study was built using the software FCMapper_bugfix_27.1.2016. In the second stage, based on multiple-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) using the PROMETHEE method (Preference Ranking Organization Method of Enrichment Evaluation), 23 OECD countries that respect the Equator Principles were ranked according to seven groups of criteria defined for financial system assessment (financial depth, development, vulnerability, soundness, fragility, stability, and sustainability), based on a literature review. The ranking confirmed the strong position of Scandinavian countries for assuring best sustainability practices in financial institutions and in the economy. The added value of this paper can be considered at two levels: theoretical and empirical. From the theoretical point of view, it should be noted that it is the first of this kind of analysis which prioritizes ESG factors in financial decisions and ranks financial systems according to fulfilling sustainability criteria. The original empirical approach based on the two-stage research procedure provided analysis of 62 factors, of which 21 represented the environmental scope, 25 the social scope, and 16 the governance scope, which is the main advantage of the empirical study presented in the paper.

BRICS cooperation mechanism is important because of its member countries, 43% of The World's population and 30% of the world economy. Turkey is a showing significant improvement succeeded in recent years. Turkey has expressed its highest degree would be become a member of BRICS cooperation mechanism. Although there are many studies in the literature about BRICS mechanism, it is observed that the studies aimed at measuring the potentials of countries with their economic and logistic performances are very limited. In addition to the macroeconomic criteria that are widely used to measure the economic performance of countries, logistic performance criteria that play an important role in the development of countries also have been used in this study. Besides these criteria that could contribute to the measurement of potential improvement of countries were selected and this study was presented in the development potential of the countries concerned. Generally, the evaluation of countries is carried out by collecting data from the primary or secondary sources in the relevant criteria and comparing them with the various qualitative and quantitative methods. Multi-Criteria Decision Making methods (MCDM) is frequently used in this kind of research by the scientist and practitioner. Because of its allow the results used and obtained in such comparisons to be objectively evaluation among the alternatives.

AHP ve PROMETHEE yöntemleri ile lastik üreticisi bir firma için tedarikçi seçimi ÖZ Küreselleşen rekabet ortamında bir firmanın başarılı olabilmesi için tedarikçi seçimi çok önemlidir. İdeal tedarikçilerin belirlenmesinde amaç; müşteri memnuniyetini arttırmak, rekabet yeteneğini geliştirmek ve minimum maliyet ile varlıklarını sürdürebilmelerini sağlamaktır. Bu çalışmada tarımsal lastik üretimi yapan bir işletmede en uygun hammadde tedarikçisi seçimi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada bir işletmeye ideal tedarikçinin seçilmesi amacıyla Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) ve Promethee I-II yöntemleri uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında literatür araştırması yapılmış, tedarikçi seçiminde araştırmacılar tarafından en çok kullanılan ölçütler tespit edilmiş ve firmada yapılan anketler sonucunda bu ölçütler arasından etkin ölçütler tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ikinci aşamasında ölçütlerin önem derecesinin belirlenmesi için AHP yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın üçüncü aşamasında ölçüt önem dereceleri hem AHP hem de Promethee I–II yöntemlerinde kullanılarak tedarikçilerin sıralanması yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın son aşamasında; Promethee veri giriş matrisinde maliyet ölçütüne ait kesin tercih eşiğinin ve farksızlık değerinin azaltılması ve arttırılması durumları analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda AHP ve Promethee I–II yöntemleri ile işletmenin mevcut tedarikçileri arasında en ideal tedarikçi belirlenmiş ve çeşitli öneriler getirilmiştir.

ABSTRACT
Supplier selection is very important for a company to be successful in a globalized competitive environment. The aims at choosing the optimal supplier; to increase customer satisfaction, improve the competitive ability and continue to exist at minimal cost. This study was intended to choose the most suitable raw material supplier in a company engaged in the production of agricultural tires. In the study Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Promethee I-II methods were applied in order to select the most optimal supplier to a company. In the first stage of the study literature was made and the most widely used and most effective supplier selection criteria were identified by the researchers as a result of surveys conducted by firms active in terms of these criteria. In the second stage of the study AHP method was used to determine the degree of importance of the criteria. In the third stage of study severity criteria were carried out using the ranking of suppliers in both AHP and Promethee I-II methods. In the last stage of study; Promethee data entry, reducing the value of certain preferred threshold of indifference and cost criteria in the matrix and analyzed the situation to improve. In conclusion, AHP and Promethee I-II methods used by the company to determine the suppliers with the optimal supplier and brought several recommendations.
