The automated analysis of feature models is recognized as one of the key challenges for automated software de- velopment in the context of Software Product Lines (SPL). However, after years of research only a few ad-hoc propos- als have been presented in such area and the tool support demanded by the SPL community is still insufficient. In pre- vious work we showed how the selection of a logic repre- sentation and a solver to handle analysis on feature models can have a remarkable impact in the performance of the analysis process. In this paper we present a first imple- mentation of FAMA (FeAture Model Analyser). FAMA is a framework for the automated analysis of feature models in- tegrating some of the most commonly used logic represen- tations and solvers proposed in the literature. To the best o f our knowledge, FAMA is the first tool integrating different solvers for the automated analyses of feature models.

The PETRAE epigraphic database developed at the Ausonius Institute in Bordeaux has more than 30 years of history in its different versions. From the very beginning, its purpose was to furnish the most complete epigraphic records providing all available data. Currently it integrates new tools, along with the evolution of new technologies applied to humanities, and more and more data. Moreover it reuses ontologies, within the Linked Open Data context, in order to link metadata with resources from other projects. In this context, we present in this contribution the genesis and the process having led to the integration of 3D models of the inscription in the PETRAE records. Among the many solutions, we chose to set up a 3D viewer linked to our practices and allowing long-term data storage.

In creating a new product, the designer needs to iterate between modeling, simulation, prototyping, and testing before he can arrive at a completed design. There are a number of tools, solutions and user code created that perform such integration. The tool integration research area emerged in the 1980s. This survey focuses on those strands of tool integration research that discuss issues beyond technology. We reveal a discourse centered around six frequently mentioned non-functional properties. These properties have been discussed in relation to technology and high level issues. However, while technical details have been covered, high level issues and, by extension, the contexts in which tool integration can be found, are treated indierently. We conclude that this indierence needs to be challenged, and research on a larger set of stakeholders and contexts initiated. An inventory of the use of classication schemes underlines the diculty of evolving the classical classication scheme published by Wasserman. Two frequently mentioned redenitions are highlighted to facilitate their wider use. A closer look at the limited number of research methods and the poor attention to research design indicates a need for a changed set of research methods. We propose more critical case studies and method diversication through theory triangulation. Additionally, among disparate discourses we highlight several focusing on standardization which are likely to contain relevant ndings. This suggests that open communities employed in the context of (pre-)standardization could be especially important in furthering the targeted discourse.

In this paper, we present the F4MS (Framework for Mixed Systems) which is a Computer Aided Design for software and hardware design, simulation and aided execution. Based on components which could be software or/ and hardware, as well as all operational tools. This framework is an extension of the TI4CS framework (Tools Integration for Complex Software), witch deals only with softwares components. In order to design a mixed systems in this framework we use a general model (execution graph), which characterizes the integration phase in the design methodology. This methodology also covers specification and partitioning phases. Finally, to illustrate this work we propose an example of mixed system for the implementation of the VPN solutions.

This paper presents recent developments in a distributed semantic hypertext framework called DHT that supports software development projects within virtual enterprises. We show how hypertext functionality embodied in DHT solves the practical problems of project coordination. These include collaborative data sharing in a virtual enterprise of distributed teams, integrating existing tools and environments, and enacting software processes to coordinate development activities for teams across wide-area networks.In particular, we describe how software process enactment can be achieved within a virtual enterprise without centralized mechanisms. In this study, a Mahalanobis–Taguchi system (MTS)-based diagnostic and root cause analysis scheme for monitoring grip length of pull-type fasteners in real-time is presented. The proposed approach is implemented on a fastening tool integrated with a strain gage, a linear variable differential transformer, a pressure sensor, and a mote for wireless communication. Experiments show that the process signature of strain-over-displacement ratio versus displacement has unique features that can be used to determine the grip length related deviations. The proposed approach takes as input various characteristics, such as peak strain, peak displacement, and depth and width of a bowl-shaped dip on the process signature in order to make real-time decisions. The experiments show that the proposed approach is effective in determining grip length deviations and in communicating the decision in real-time via a wireless network to a base station. Overall, the proposed architecture has merits to (1) detect quality problems in real-time during the fastening process and (2) reduce post-process inspection, thereby improving quality while reducing cost. In addition, the approach facilitates 100% data collection on each fastener as opposed to traditional statistical process control (SPC) techniques, which rely on sampling.

Design and verification of integrated systems involve a variety of CAD tools, which increase design heterogeneity. This paper presents an efficient methodology based on tool integration that regulates the design and verification flow. The methodology aims at solving key issues in building and verifying a functional prototype of a system and in improving design continuity. Using UML, SystemC and Matlab/Simulink, we were able to create a unified design and verification framework. A digital equalizer is used as an example to validate the methodology.
